Cartoon Network, Nick and Disney XD don't make shit for kids, and cartoons haven't been aimed squarely at kids since the late 80s, and if you think they are I'd love to see what rock you live under

It's family entertainment. It's made to appeal to 50 year old dads, 30 year old moms, 16 year old daughters, and 7 year old sons equally. Of course there's going to be relationship shit; it's there for the teenage girls watching with their families

Also, kids aren't pussies, nor are they retards. I grew up with animorphs, and that shit was way darker and way more complex than any so-called "kids" cartoon has ever been

Attached: 1551567568314.png (1280x720, 509K)

At least it teaches them that white bitches ain't shit anyway.

>cartoons haven't been aimed squarely at kids since the late 80s

I think you live in a cartoon yourself, because they are very clearly still made for children. The only thing that's changed is the people who make them are substantially worse at keeping kids' attention (and any creative process at all.)

Erueka 7 is garbage, even for anime.

>4 kidz XD

>Of course there's going to be relationship shit; it's there for the teenage girls watching with their families
You'd be surprised at how many 20-somethings are the ones actually latching onto the shipping scene instead of teens.

This one actually makes sense. Kids think teens are cool. Kids don’t want to be associated with kid stuff

>cartoon made for girls
Now do you understand?

Are you kidding me? I have had to watch cartoons with the kids before and most of the time it was physical torture. I remember getting stuck with an Uncle Grandpa marathon once and was ready to jump out the window 15 minutes in. Kids thought it was funny at least.

Even shit like TTGo that has fanservice directed straight at my age group is torment after a few episodes

>shitting on based UG
get out

>cartoon is made for children and is actually enjoyable even for an adult
>creators listen to the autistic adult fanbase who cares about it too much and changes the entire show and everything that made it good

Depends. If it's a comedy it needs to have either kids or kid like protagonists, since comedy is based in relateability

Eureka 7 is s coming of age story. So the relationship stuff with eureka works.

What doesn't work is when you do like the webcomics JL8. Where elementary school aged children go on romantic dates and have adult like drama from their relationships.

Relationships ruin coming of age stories.

I suppose, though I guess in this case 13-14 shouldn’t really be considered teens either. It doesn’t feel like a teen show if they aren’t in high school at least

Yeah that got weird

Cartoons that focus on young kids are the ones that always come off as annoying and obnoxious. I’d say under 10. Cartoons where they are in the 10-12 range are the ones that don’t feel like everyone is a retard and all the jokes need to be for retards

No, you're just too autistic to be able to relate to romance. For those of us that aren't mentally ill, romance was a damn big of growing up

I can’t fathom how any adult who is not retarded could get any enjoyment from that show.

I get the feeling a lot of it has to do with the shift back from the late 80s-2000s producer driven system back to the studio driven system of the mid 60s-early 80s.

99.9% of artists and writers are good at executing ideas, not creating them. That's why most mediums promote the artists and writers who actually do have ideas up to directing and producing roles, so they can give the people working under them ideas.

If you make the crew members come up with the ideas, you'll get little bits and pieces of quality from the guy who SHOULD be the producer, and the rest of it is either complete nonsense, or ideas plagiarized from the fans

fight me, E7 is great.

I think the issue is shit like every creator having a twitter. This type of thing didn’t start till the social media age. If you shipped characters in Ed Edd n Eddy, you couldn’t tweet that straight to Danny and have him call you a dumbfuck most likely. How it works now, people tweet their fanfiction and the staff just throws it right in the show no questions asked

Honestly every "kids" show that does do romance does it ass backwards. Vile and straight up toxic relationships are put on a pedestal while chances for real relationships are ignored/straight up destroyed. This is how you get the next generation of supreme (wo)manchildren more cancerous than the last.

Cartoons nowadays aren't made for children. They're made for adults with childish mindsets.

>Kids think teens are cool.
What?

The 90s cartoons everyone loves so much were literally aimed at adult animation fans first and foremost. Just ask Craig McCracken.

Your issue isn't that they're made for adults, no. Your issue is that they're made for adults who aren't you.

Better yet, you're just mad about Steven Universe, just like . You barely watch cartoons anymore, but judge the state of the entire industry based on a handful of clips of a single show.

Attached: 1550537289874.png (297x247, 148K)

>Your issue is that they're made for adults who aren't you.

I'm not fat, heavily-medicated or six genders, no.

The problem is that shit should be delegated to direct-to-asylum video, not general childrens' programming.

>I'm not fat
doubt

Yea Forums anons are obsessed with 2000s action cartoons, so they assume that people outside of Yea Forums agree, even though most normal people were into comedy cartoons starring kids like EEnE and Billy and Mandy growing up

Action cartoons would be fine if the channels actually gave them proper time slots. Also, in CN’s case, they’ll sabotage any show that isn’t theirs like they did with Thundercats or DC shows.

>Cartoon is for "Adults"
>Looks like it was animated and written by middle schoolers

Attached: 1553551107948.gif (250x188, 445K)

Adult cartoons like the ones on adult swim are mostly made for stoners. They're a lot funnier if you're high

I'm not talking about now, I'm talking about the late 90s/2000s.

At least South Park and ATHF's cases were intentional.

>(and any creative process at all.)
man I sure miss that stiff lifeless 80s cartoons animation NOT THAT WAS CREATIVITY

>cartoon attempts to appeal to adults with modern political nonsense and social undertone
>when it never did such a thing when the show first started eight years ago

Anemone = Kushana from nausicaa = Yara the wind master
The children like you OP, knew nothing.

>2000 cartoon made for children
>It's filled with 80's cartoons references

>not wanting to teach kids about sensitive issues so that they grow up to be pussies and offended by everything
wack

bueno

>franxx clone

To be fair, dexter's lab was basically a non-stop steam of references to shit genndy grew up with, and everyone fucking loves that show. Half the jokes are incomplete if you don't have a working knowledge of hanna-barbera cartoons, silver age comics, super robot anime, and a lot more shit most kids born after the end of the 70s wouldn't know a single thing about

what cartoon does this.

>The 90s cartoons everyone loves so much were literally aimed at adult animation fans first and foremost. Just ask Craig McCracken.
Do you have a single fact to back that up?

Is it so hard to keep your anime autism contained on the appropriate boards? They're just a click away.

The difference is that with dexters lab that the joke still works even if you don’t know the reference.

Just ask Craig McCracken.

No kid except the boomer kind could figure out most Beat-Alls jokes but they managed to make an entire episode of it. Not to mention how botched and stunted its dubbing (and thus losing its word for word references) resulted for international audiences.

>cartoon made for both genders
>Everything is pink, there's relationship junk, the characters sing and dance, and resolve conflicts by crying

nigga no. E7 came out in 2006

>cartoon made for adults

reminder that manofaction is a massive weeb and gwen's design is heavily based on eureka

>tfw the antagonist was 100% right

Unrelated but I never realized what a sloppy job they did with this sequence. His head is so incorrectly layered and pasted on.

>cartoon made for kids
>cartoons encourages being a failure, and to never improve upon yourself as a person.

The fuck you have against Jem?

Attached: JemRio2.jpg (500x346, 58K)

Makes sense if the cartoon is targeted towards girls. I shipped my beanie babies before I shipped cartoons.

And? What's the problem? Teens are just older kids, and a lot of kids think teenagers are cool and want to be like them.

>it's packed with genocide
yo.

>cartoon made for children

It sucks

Number one: that's terror
Number two: ______that's terror_______

Genocide and rape are actually fairly common themes in cartoons, even if just for a joke. Just saying.

Ironic considering the fact you posted Eureka 7 which has that in spades but is one of the best animated series ever produced.

Then it got a sequel...(E7: AO) and it became dreadful. Huh, similar to ATLA
You've got some awful taste.

>South Park
>Intentional
Nah, they had VERY limited budget and skillset when they started and despite success they knew changing production would also cost $$$ which they opted not to do.

>Time for ALIENS to show up! AW YEAH, the next threat!
>Series ends

Fuck you.

>Action requires movement, relationships are just still frames of people talking.

>LGBT
Dont forget that all the shippers celebrate it as progressive while attacking critics who call it forced, then less than a year later start trashing the ship for not being gay enough and being forced for woke points.

Attached: RWBY.png (1344x807, 896K)

South Park was intentional because they wanted to keep the look and feel of the original spirit of christmas shorts jesus vs frosty and jesus vs santa.

UG had a gag one ep about magic aging up a boy prematurely stealing a van and potentially reading dirty magazines.

Attached: 1546480252183.png (211x120, 7K)

Name them

It really is just appealing to shippers that's the problem. Nobody really cares about gay couples that are just like any other couple in the show like in Clarence or Loud House.

Shippers want to feel like they "won" something.

Yeah I grow up with 90's-2000's cartoons when most MCs were either kids which were relatable or an adults which are good role models, teens suck though.

>and a lot of kids think teenagers are cool and want to be like them.
Again, what?

NuDextar was awful, good thing it was short lived.

Found the underage

I already jerked it to Anemone twice today but that OP makes me wanna go for round 3
That's all I wanted to say

>Cartoon promises to be action packed or full of adventure
>Action happens for 2 or 3 episodes and the rest is just talking and being pacifistic.

As opposed to those cartoons for children made by actual children?

These gave me a chuckle, you anons are alright.

Here's one

>relationship shit

You know how I now you guys are autistic?

In a funny, enjoyable way.

>cartoon made for kids
>almost everybody is a cynical asshole and even the bully is more sympathetic

I dont know if its a bad thing annon. My little sister whos in elementary love watching miraculous ladybug, RWBY, and card captor just for shipping

Attached: 98f7611.jpg (3200x4000, 1.13M)

>Again, what?
I did when I was a kid

Girls mature faster.

Who are you quoting? Also not everything is like anime. Characters can move during dialogue sequences

I dont know my sister who is in her 20s is still reading fanfics about hiccup and rapunzel going to hogwarts and dating

Also she just started to watch star vs just for shipping. She seems to realy like the 'cucked' meme

Attached: 4eee90c92ea03af349947cdfd070e38e.jpg (552x462, 43K)

>cartoon made for ME
>creator INSISTS it was made for children
Nice try fag.

This. Half of the shit Yea Forums finds boring or annoying and bitches about, like grey morality, romantic subplots, ect. aren't objectivly bad things, they're things that autistic people have trouble understanding

I wonder how common it is among people, especially kids to watch cartoons just for shipping.
I remember watching Sailor moon, Jem, Card captor Sakura and 'insert other magical girls series her' as a kid, but not for the shipping.
I love watching pretty girls, their fashion, the magic element and the general cute, unique or pretty aesthetics these show's provided. If a show didn't have pretty girls, or pretty/cute characters in general I wouldn't bother watching it, yeah I was a shallow kid.

Attached: 9286954312_766bfa9d7f_b.jpg (1024x683, 422K)

>new cartoon
>tumblr or extremly stupid artstyle

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 79K)

Huh, same here. I loved watching shows with cute and beautiful girls. After my friend and sister made fun of me for watching the girly shows, I would just pretend to be playing with my toy while my sister was watching those shows

Attached: eyal-degabli-jaina-s20.jpg (1219x1600, 364K)

Your little sister will grow up to weigh even more than you do. How does it feel?

Animorphs was fucked up for sure.

But even in cartoons there was Pirates of Dark Water where you got to see an insane woman kidnap her ex's son, try to rape and marry him, and literally melt to death after drinking a youth potion. And of course nobody can forget ReBoot where shit goes from 0 to 11 in a single episode, Real Adventures of Johnny Quest with people getting mind blanked in virtual reality in addition to just fucking dying, ALL THE SHIT that happened on Batman Beyond...

Today's cartoons are pretty tame.

Nah I'm from korea. 90% of the girls here are plastic and skinny.

Attached: South.Korea.(Female).full.870958.jpg (640x1019, 285K)

>creators listen to the autistic adult fanbase
Has there ever been a provable instance of this occuring for any children's cartoon? Or is it all typical Yea Forums baseless speculation?
