Babe. He was friendly and compassionate AND he got shit done. Wilbur made friends, but he needed to beg their help to save him. Babe saved his own friends and they in turn helped him as well, but ultimately Babe did more work.

One thing I really appreciate about Charlotte’s Web over Babe, is that in CW they make a point to say that Wilbur actually grew into a somewhat normal sized pig. He’s still pretty small for a pig, but at least he doesn’t stay a tiny lap sized piglet for the whole story. Well, except for that one live action adaptation maybe.
In Babe, the story says that time passes, but Babe just stays small and piglet sized. I’m sure they felt like they needed to do it that way so that he’d be cute enough for people to watch, but if that’s your concern, then don’t do a movie about a pig if you’re scared to show the audience what a pig actually looks like. Piglets are cute but it’s really stupid to pretend they stay that way for very long.

I just became unreasonably upset at the realization that I have seen both sequels. They both suck. They’re really damn forgettable, but everything I do remember is just awful. Charlotte’s Web 2 probably shits on its source material a little worse, so I probably dislike that one more.
Why have I even seen both Babe 2 and Charlotte’s Web 2? I don’t even like pigs that much.
