My head canon was that Toph was too alpha to ever have husbands or boyfriends. She simply met guys she fancied and he would be her fuck toy for a few months / years. Heh, yeah. It was funny. But it's understandable - women don't actually know what makes men like or dislike them. In this case they cosplayed as Toph without understanding Toph catered to a great number of foot fetishists, and it wasn't even subtle. Sure, lots of guys liked Toph due to her tomboyish nature and so forth, and that's fine and dandy, but it was amusing to see them squirm with discomfort at an integral part of her character. Though I'm not into the whole cosplay thing at all, and have no interest in it.
