Azula Redemption was always the plan, the series just did not continue

that's a funny way of saying that firecest should have been canon
Jonathan Rogers
>inb4 Steven/ Azula shipper
Jace Myers
Firecest is canon as shit now. May Zuko and Azula have more sons and daughters than there are stars in heaven.
Jonathan Hall
This would be a perfect set up for Azulaang.
Zachary Russell
>Firecest is canon
Angel Bell
Yeah, Sorry about murdering you Aang, kek good thing Katara had that healing water.
Jace Clark
I actually don't think I would've liked that; Azula always felt like a character that didn't NEED to be redeemed or changed.
Daniel Hughes
Bryke did us dirty by denying us this future
David Perez
TACI IN PULA MEA CA VIN ACUM SI TE BAT.
Somebody give him his address. This rewriting of history WILL NOT DO. I need to teach this faggot to stop being influenced by fucking zoomers.
Ayden Robinson
>april fools day
just because he says it wasn't an april fools day joke doesn't mean it wasn't. and if it wasn't ehasz is a hack.
Should have made Firecest canon the opposite way by making Zuko join Azula instead of making Azula into a good guy. Redemption arcs are fucking dumb
>This bad guy is cool and sinister
>now they're a generic good guy even though we already have a full cast of compelling heroes
Who the fuck would believe this is a good idea?
Jackson Nelson
is he kataang or zutara?
Carson Wilson
man i wish i didn't saw this since I've been seething to this day because Azula didn't got redeemed.
Nathan Carter
dumb fucking indo
Connor Morales
>Should have made Firecest canon the opposite way by making Zuko join Azula instead of making Azula into a good guy. Redemption arcs are fucking dumb
You're a fucking idiot.
Kevin Foster
Bryke had a firmer grasp on their characters than Ehasz, this would have ruined Azula and cheapened Zuko's redemption. Not everyone can be saved.
Carson Bailey
>Bryke had a firmer grasp on their characters than Ehasz
lol
Brandon Thomas
OP is literal definitive proof of this
>I would've had Azula betray Ozai
fuck outta here, anons have also said he wanted Katara and Zuko to get together don't know how true that is but it'd just be the nail in the coffin here
Hunter Sanders
zucest is wrong Azula is for Ozai's dick only
Evan Reed
>01 April 19
alrighty
Lincoln Cruz
Based Ehasz, Azula needs a redemption arc.
Although I've always pictured her not being "Canadian." I've always pictured her eventually winding up being extremely zen and balanced. "Balance" is one of her core personality traits, after all; it's how she can make lightning. She's got a balance that's vicious and cruel in the show, but I think she could develop a balance that's gentle and kind.
I also figure Aang would be a big part of this, since he, too, is a creature of balance and harmony, being a monk.
Brayden Jones
What is this JK Rowling level of bullshit?
Sebastian Myers
>Aang was actually black all along
Sebastian Garcia

Where are you reading that?
Justin Brooks
>Social media used to damage control and fellate the fanbase is now "real source"
fuck off, clown.
Connor Sullivan
Revisionist history.
Lucas Watson
Azula was irredeemable. Not all villains should have a redemption arc.
James Turner
>Not all villains should have a redemption arc.
they should if it leads to incest
Ryan Cooper
People’s recollection of events is actually pretty fucking terrible.
It’s likely that they’ve revised the events in their heads, given how much people praise the show but nitpick about Azula, given its the one thing that’s been deemed ‘bad’ about the show.
Adam Anderson
obviously that would be her redemption
she'd get over her Ozai obsession thanks to Zuko's true brotherly wuv
Henry Anderson
So firecest really was endgame the whole time
Liam Adams
Why?
Jeremiah Campbell
Azula is great though, what the fuck?
Luke Howard
Das some beautiful fire mane.
Jayden Anderson
>Azula was irredeemable
How's that, exactly?
>given its the one thing that’s been deemed ‘bad’ about the show.
No one says that.
Logan Reed
>Azula's endgame was becoming Canadian
Michael Wood
Azula's descent into madness is actually one of the better parts of the finale, IMO. It's hardly my biggest problem with Sozin's Comet, it's barely a problem at all.
The real problems with Sozin's Comet, in my view, are:
--the Avatar State coming back, not as a result of Aang doing anything spiritual or profound, but just by him getting hit in the back by that FUCKING rock
--Ozai's (really Azula's) plan for the Earth Kingdom being incredibly stupid and clearly written solely to set up the big DBZ fight where it could happen away from everyone
--there being no real plan for what Katara was going to do in the finale, so they have to shoehorn her into the completion of Zuko's arc. She can't go with Aang against Ozai, she doesn't go with Sokka/Suki/Toph to stop the war blimps, but she really doesn't belong with Zuko, either. Her character arc has already completed and she's basically just baggage at this point.
--Iroh's hypocrisy regarding Azula and Ozai; him refusing to even consider challenging Ozai versus him essentially telling Zuko to go kill Azula.
Those are the big problems, near as I can tell.
Easton Baker
Bump.
Zachary Butler
>didn't list the Lion Turtle/energybending asspull
I'm either annoyed or impressed that this was left off your list.
Benjamin Cox
user was courteous enough not to mention it, and here you ruin my memories of it
you dumb bitch
Owen Lopez
You can make something spiritual about that. You could have had Aang using energybending as an alternative to the Avatar state itself, like him consciously rejecting the advice of his predecessors to choose his own way of stopping Ozai. Have him forge his own path as the avatar. That's kind of what they were going for, it just got muted by him getting the Avatar state back anyway in the dumbest possible fashion and punching Ozai's shit in DBZ style.
It says a lot about Book 3 that its biggest issue isn't the whole energybending thing which people are pretty universally critical of. Honestly the only way to fix the Lion Turtle bullshit would have been actual decent writing, not five blink and you'll miss it cameos across the entire series so the creative staff could say "HA! You see! We totally planned this! FORESHADOWING!"
Gabriel Walker
He later said that a Season 4 was planned but was stopped because of the live action movie. FUCK M NIGHT FOR BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REASON AZULADEMPTION GOT SCRAPPED.
Colton Price
Bentley Cooper
Really? Man fuck that would have been amazing. How did the movie affect the series anyway?
Ayden Adams
He's giving info on what they had planned from the story, not retconning the canon. You fellas are getting your panties in a bunch over "behind the scenes special on a DVD" level info.
Brandon Adams
>Continually baffled Christendom by continuing to live.
That was a interesting read.
Christopher Cooper
ATLA works really well as a self-contained story about Aang ending the war and getting the girl of his dreams, but I'm kind of fascinated at the thought that at least some members of the staff had plans for stories afterwards. It's kind of like writing seasons of a Transformers cartoon after the Autobots and Decepticons have ended their war. What do you do, when the greatest driver of storytelling in your series is finished? It could have been really bad, but it could also have been really good.
Kayden Turner
I'm not sure but I think what he meant was that the war would not be ended in S3. This solves the Lion Turtle asspull too since Aang would have to learn more about Airbending and would presumably discover something in S4 which would be the air book.
Elijah Gonzalez
Honestly, thank god ATLA ended where it did, I kind of viewed difference between Zuko and Azula in literal natural sense over nurture. Both grew up in same conditions with same expectations, one just met them and other didn't.
Brody Murphy
firecest confirmed
Nathaniel Robinson
It's an April fools joke you Muppet.
Lucas Morales
It's actually not
Hunter Lewis
eh, people were mad at rowling for giving extra info on the fantastic beasts dvd
Eli Mitchell
>Azula redemption
I can't believe that M Night making that shitty avatar movie was a good thing.
>JK Rowling
The poster child for death of the author being a good thing.
Benjamin Russell
He's not claiming that Azula was actually jewish or a jack russel terrier in a wig he's saying that she would have eventually gotten help for her mental illness.
Luke Rivera
>air your plans on April Fools Day
>If anyone complains about it, just say it's a joke
Aaron is a crafty beast.
Jason Hall
She's never been shown as anything but a complete monster. Any redemption that didn't involve brainwashing wouldn't have been believable, she's just a bad person.
Lucas Young
The beach episode? she was chill there
Julian Miller
She's also been shown to want affection and to care about Zuko even if she shows it in a very roundabout way
Jose Lewis
Azula being awkward and jealous in The Beach was pretty great
youtube.com
Hunter Myers
I just realised this was a peek at fully redeemed Azula mentioned in the tweets
Liam Wood
I wish S4 happened. This sucks.
Gavin Hall
>Azula as a completely insecure dweeb who's constantly babbling about how she feels, unable to stop even when she knows she should
This is kind of cute to think about.
Blake Lee
I'll take it. Isn't that kind of what's going on with the comic series, or has that ended? They found their mother, and now Zuko's just got to wait out Azula getting tired of eating berries and and rodents in the wilderness and come crawling back for a good whipping and cuddling.
Samuel Sanchez

Now that would be an intersting tweeest
