In the third film I actually enjoyed the twins a bit. I have no idea what the writers were thinking with Snotlout. His one defining character trait was wanting to fuck Hicup's mom,

He died a pretty brutal death in the books

To balance out the other competent three.

Capable girl - Clueless girl
Smart boy - Stoner Boy
Creative Boy - Jerk boy

It took me way to long to figure out who smart boy was, he is such a non character.

>To pad out the movie.
>And also give the villain a reason to find them.
>To hammer home just how smart and cool Hiccup and Astrid and their dragons are by comparison(Toothless and Stormfly are a good mix of cartoony/realistic unlike the other dragons)
>to showcase some of the other dragon's abilities
>comic relief
You forgot Fishsnout or whatever the fuck his name is.

He has a better presence in the Netflix show.

chad on the right with the strong chin is the most fuckable character in the entire franchise, that's something

gross he's like 4'9" with no brains and an obnoxious attitude

Well in the book he was Hippuc’s best friend
And they kinda tried to push this in the Netflix series with them haging out and talking about dragons, but never in the movies

The books were decent from what I remember. Was fishlegs hiccups distant cousin? And snotlot his older cousin?

Well user, on an island of that size I would bet everybody is somebody's cousin.

He is literally pointless when Hiccup and Gobber are better dragon experts

How?
is the book that different?

>Kill off Hiccup's dad.
>Most traumatizing, saddest scene in the final part of the movie.
>"Hey Hiccup I wanna stick my dragon in your mom's lizard slit holy fuck."

The third movie sucked.

Book has almost nothing to do with the movies outside of basic premise

This, the third movie is when the male twin was likeable. In the first two films he was just there.

Very different. IIRC:
>Dragons speak their own language and the Hiccups (Protag Hiccup was the third in the family line) were the only people that bothered to understand them
>while Hiccup's mom in the movies named him Hiccup because he was small and delicate when he was born, his book parents named him Hiccup literally to call him a runt or a mistake
>>>>Dragon riding wasn't a thing because:
>Dragon sizes range from the same sizes as dog breeds. There are a few kaiju-sized outliers but most could sit on your shoulder
>Toothless was literally Garfield. Same size, lazy as fuck, only cares about food, and complains a lot
>Fishlegs was the generic nerd friend while Snotlout was the generic chad bully character that Stoick wished was his son instead of Hiccup

If you don't care about spoilers:
>Snotlout is basically the ideal viking Chad youth while Hiccup and Fishlegs are string-bean losers, and he bullies them relentlessly
>has ambitions to be Chief (he's Hiccups first cousin, so if Hiccup eats it he's next in line)
>several books later Hiccup ends up a proficient swordsman, well-liked hero, and likely to become King of the Wilderwest
>Snotlout betrays him and the Hairy Hooligan tribe to Alvin the Treacherous, twice, losing all his honor
>Snotlout blames Hiccup for ruining his life by being born, beats him in a duel easily, but is then talk no jutsu'd into redemption by helping Hiccup
>Alvin's men are hunting them down, Snotlout comes up with a plan to dress up as Hiccup and act as a decoy, and gets shot in the chest with a flaming arrow and dies

Sounds like pokemon

>Dragon riding wasn't a thing
But Dragon riding is like 90% of the movies

being comic reliefs
