Yea Forums be honest, are you okay with all the gay/lesbian characters in cartoons now? And what are examples of it done right?

When is Yea Forums ever okay with homosexuals?

This may be controversial, but I like Princess Bubblegum and Marceline.

Yeah there was the first few seasons, but their relationship felt more natural as the series progressed

>When is Yea Forums ever okay with homosexuals?
When they are not forced and if they are hot.

What exactly is forced homosexuality?

It would only count as such if a character that had heterosexual tendencies partners up with someone of the same gender, but I can't think of any that follow that trend.

I was reminded of New Jersey's LGBT history classes and I was also reminded of the state mandated homosexuality from Sam Hyde's shitpost.

Forced means they have to be aware that it exists. Reactionaries all want homosexuals to live on an island somewhere, where they don't have to acknowledge their existence.

Let me explain it to you dumb user. Yea Forums only approves lesbians when they are hot porn, Yea Forums hates romantic relationships between characters of the same gender.

No, it isn't.

I hated that. Finn should have got with Bubblegum.

Who here can name any gay couples in Yea Forums (not lesbians)

I actually have a hard time recalling any

I need more fags and less dykes

Apollo and Midnighter. At least in the original Authority run. Never read any other comics about them.

I'm down for lesbians in Yea Forums media if it means saucy drawing (I actually kind of wanted Luz x Eda to be a thing in Owl House because that sounds really hot, despite the centuries long age gap)

And despite the fact that I consider romance to be a leech in any story, I appreciate it a whole lot more if it's done well. The fact that homoromantic shit turns people off is what I find depressing.

Clyde's Parents. Kevin Sullivan, for all the damage he's done to Loud House, has made the best representation of a gay couple and that can never be taken away from him.
The two leads in El Dorado were supposed to be a gay couple. But Katzenberg stepped in.
Hollyhock's parents are a big gay love heptagon.
Voltron had a gay couple. But it was supposedly a worse reveal than Legend of Korra.
And that's what comes to my mind.

As in two girls who were both straight and never shown attraction to other girls are all of a sudden shipped together in the last episode, due to popular request of a vocal minority.
Dofus did it right. Wanna make a lesbian more believable make her so since her conception. Let her smoothtalk to other girls, hang a calendar topped by a sexy girl in her room, stuff like that. Anything that doesn't indicate it was a last minute copout.

Yea Forums never despises traps though

I feel like they just went and made a list of diversity things and checked off every box they could

>Clyde's parents
Christ my memory is shot to shit. Dude fuck GLAAD, they should have won best gay couple.

Alright; how would you feel if a lesbian or gay couple were made straight for the sake of optics or not offending someone? It's roughly the same concept. Not doing what makes sense for the story, but what the writers or producers want for external reasons.

That said, I think one of the best series to depict a lesbian relationship is Utena.

>Utena

You are so fucking based!

>When is Yea Forums ever okay with homosexuals?

I wouldnt be surprised and Bugs and Daffy were outed as homo's during the slightly more grounded Looney Tune's Show. those two have history together and it wouldnt suprise me at all with how much Bugs is into that crossdressing stuff.
not only that but

>Timone and Pumba
>Mike and Sully
>those overly polite chipmunks from Looney Tunes as well
>Ren and Stimpy
>Sam and Max

If any of the above ever got outed as "gay" one day by a writer I would be like "well no shit" and continue on my day. I could really care less anyways. I seriously hope nobody out there loses sleep over such trivial shit like the sexuality of mad up cartoon persons.

Attached: 1532015873035.png (1200x1008, 984K)

>And despite the fact that I consider romance to be a leech in any story

You are weird

>The fact that homoromantic shit turns people off is what I find depressing.

Well... it isn't something to feel depressed, it's just a reality.

Attached: 1498341590771.png (638x480, 401K)

Unfortunately, when you get big like GLAAD, you have to play politics. Kind of like the Oscars. It's not a meritocracy, it's all in service to capital interests. There's no ethical consumption under capitalism, ever.

I'm fine with it unless it's some stupid shit where it's two characters in the background standing near each other and some low level production artist goes on twitter and claims they're a canon gay couple. Like just make your characters gay or don't but own that shit instead of patting yourself on the back for being progressive by doing the sub bare minimum.

Mike Wazowski had a hot GF tho

Only lesbians.
Only if they're hot.

It still pisses me off.

Attached: 1527181014836.png (2000x2000, 637K)

Yea Forums has definitely been the gay board but is definitely trying to chase mah tumbler boogeyman right now. Yea Forums has always been rather bisexual if not gay due to the amount/type of humor posted if you're not a severe newfag.

That's not to say there aren't a shit ton of retards from other websites here but now people are just randomly attacking each other.

>Alright; how would you feel if a lesbian or gay couple were made straight for the sake of optics or not offending someone?

I wouldn't care. Should I?

>That said, I think one of the best series to depict a lesbian relationship is Utena.

I don't care, I don't like that anime and I'm not interested in it.

Attached: 1496198344309.jpg (569x428, 25K)

so did Elton John

>Voltron had a gay couple. But it was supposedly a worse reveal than Legend of Korra.
The character reveal was a good one but the final relationship was godawful.

Seriously? It depresses you? Lol I will never understand why people find that disgusting shit enticing.

Attached: 1551405959132.png (500x375, 129K)

>The two leads in El Dorado were supposed to be a gay couple. But Katzenberg stepped in.
Well then he failed, because all that came across was that they along with Chel were a bisexual threesome, who then went off together to have sexy, sexy adventures.

I am weird, but I feel romance works best when it's the focus of the story or if it's relegated to a supporting role. It involves a lot of character focus and that won't leave enough room for exciting stuff to happen.

For example, my favorite book series: The Lunar Chronicles (yes, I do identify as a 13 y/o Tumblrina) is reinterpretations of classical fairytales. There's cool shit like moon monarchies, 4 world wars, the moon people have mind powers that can manipulate perception and control of a person, but the stories focus on the main cast and their budding romance with one another and all the cool shit is left to the side.

I honestly don't give a fuck and I don't understand the ones who do but if I have to choose I'll probably choose the new She-Ra.

Even if it took a while, they give a very good reason why they like each other and I really like it.

Attached: images (11).jpg (300x168, 8K)

Lol is this cartoon another Tumblr SJW crap obsessed with sexual preferences/relationships?

Such a shame. Thought it was a somewhat well balanced series.

People forget but that relationship comes from an era when Yea Forums loved gay relationships and was known as the gayest board. You also had GotG with a lesbian couple and Wiccan and Hulkling, and Carolina Dean so there was a feeling that gay characters were accepted.

The difference between that era and this one is that modern writing is not nearly as good and the relationships aren't as nuanced. The anons in this thread are either too young to remember what Yea Forums did before /pol/ or even /new/ existed or have this weird sliding scale of homophobia.

Katz is very good at failing. When it comes to anything other than making money off of the backs of other people.

I think the issue with Voltron is mainly that the show was mostly asexual for 60 percent of it's run and then crammed every single relationship into the last quarter when the action should have been ramping up. Shiro gets a lot of the heat mainly because the straight couple didn't get together in the end and he found a new dude and remarried and offscreen and that's supposed to be the show's emotional closer.

You mean Netossa and Spinerella?

I still don't see the whole Adora x Catra thing. They just seem like they're okay with being enemies with each other, but due to their previous relationship, they can't bring themselves to fully hate each other as well. Love/hate basically.

Attached: 1544674355839.png (420x420, 216K)

There is only one gay couple in the entire show and they're dead.

Attached: 1552446720400.jpg (867x1024, 110K)

I don't care about what type of friction a fictional character prefers to get off.

The only gay characters done right are the Arcade Gannon and Korra

Everyone in the threads saw it coming, niggers, stop shitposting Korrasami.

>Arcade Gannon
If you're going to mention Fallout: New Vegas, the best gay character is either everyone or no one.

I think it's good because it's not shown outright what orientation people are and you have to pry sometimes to figure it out. That adds nuance as it's shown that not everyone is comfortable with themselves and in some cases, it actually destroys relationships (Manny)

If I'm being honest however, a better option would be Veronica. Hers is more fleshed out and more so if you believe the Veronica x Christine theory.

>but I feel romance works best when it's the focus of the story or if it's relegated to a supporting role

Then romance is always good.

>but the stories focus on the main cast and their budding romance with one another and all the cool shit is left to the side.

Then the story is effectively a romantic story or it is simply bad writing. A well-executed story manage to make a balance between the two things.

Attached: 1501374894158.jpg (720x540, 60K)

also those guys from summer camp island

Still forced and stupid.

>Two characters of the same sex showing remotly positive feelings toward each other.
>Absolutely gay no other reason two people would get along that well.
Jesus, it's called having a friend. I get that everything is so cynical and fucked now that people can't conceve of that concept but holy shit.

Whatever, I skipped most of the scenes that had no Claudia in them.

It's homosexual recruitment, it poisons children's minds, it's not cricket.

Just a drop in the pond in the degeneration of western culture though.

>forced
buzzword

Lesbians are hot and i like them

I include lesbians in my stories because of my fetishes

Gay shit, on the other hand, is fine if its written well. But if the writing isn't strong enough, i look away from it

you sound like you're a very angry Muslim who does not like haram culture. Possibly of Indian origin, based on that weird fucking "cricket" line.

Forced homosexuality is just forcing it on us viewers. That the writers or whoever the fuck have to make it CLEAR that the characters are gay, for one another or for someone else, but gay none the less. In today's current sociopolitical climate its nearly impossible to make good gay characters without severely pissing off alot of people, and that's not including actual homophobes. If you want an unbiased opinion about your original gay characters, you better wait like 5 years till all the current bullshit simmers down, otherwise it's either garbage writing or pandering, and it's highly unlikely that you'll miraculously have good enough writing and character development that you won't be either of the two.

>And what are examples of it done right?
Probably mlp

> That said, I think one of the best series to depict a lesbian relationship is Utena.
Every girl in Utena was straight except Juri who was most likely bisexual but has no relationship anyway.

>gay
Gay.

I'll make a folder and save some fanart. Maybe I'll even download the show later on.

Attached: 1547883914803.jpg (2000x1414, 489K)

Next thing you'll say is that Akio is also straight.
Utena and Anthy are bi, Juri is a lesbian; her one and only love was that fucking slut. The twins were also bi, all the other girls are straight.

>Yea Forums be honest, are you okay with all the gay/lesbian characters in cartoons now?

no, fuck them. i cant show this show to my kids because the whole life is about family and this shit is not natural.. unless some science faggot invents new society with hermaphrodites gays can stay in minority as they are.

Attached: 15258080888762.jpg (600x858, 105K)

I'm indifferent, but mostly okay with it. I have gay friends who appreciate it. Most people here seem to hate it.

dont worry this shit will be fixed pretty fast as soon they introduce aids and veneric infections to the show.

Attached: 1552699233527.jpg (790x988, 234K)

> Utena and Anthy are bi
How so? There is no evidence for it. On the contrary Utena literally said she is straight.

not the one in OP, it felt just forced and no I don't like that kind of pandering.

weren't Ren and Stimpy confirmed gay in Adult Party?
>Yea Forums be honest, are you okay with all the gay/lesbian characters in cartoons now?
romance in cartoons on the whole are generally shitty regardless if they are straight, gay or whatever the fuck else.
maybe stop looking to tv shows made to sell toys to children for high watermarks in cultural enlightenment and artistic integrity?
read a book or something. preferably one without pictures.
(and not from the young adult section!)

>there are straight men that don't want more women making out
It's funny that those complaining about a gay agenda when seeing something like this sound like a complete faggot.

Attached: 1366281687639.gif (320x240, 1.83M)

Lesbians are the slippery slope, faggots are the endgame.

it's because the girls are kissing girls and not kissing (You).
they got manifestos n shit about it...

Always:
>never two main characters unless it's last minute/a finale get together with no buildup because the creators were too cowardly
>literal background whos
>dead characters
>a mixture of both
>shipteasing only, but not giving either character a good love interest but making their same sex friendships super intense

Apollo and Midnighter are generally liked by Yea Forums, because they're two fleshed out main characters. Kinda similar with Ruby and Sapphire.

Attached: RCO015_1469415855.jpg (1988x3056, 1.39M)

Plenty of kids are already attracted to the same sex, so shows that include it are doing nothing but reaffirming what they already know deep down and giving it a name. Putting this idea that it doesn't exist into their heads just creates nothing but dysfunction growing up. I knew a guy who thought he must be a girl when he was young because in an environment that doesn't normalize it he thought only girls liked boys, he stopped thinking that when he understood he was gay.

Men not liking lesbians is like bears not hibernating. It's coded into our DNA and has been a part of our evolution from the ancient times of an era before civilization.

>out
You take that back fag

>When is Yea Forums ever okay with homosexuals?

It was gay as hell before /pol/ showed up, newfag.

>no /k/

you have no fucking idea what you're talking about

>It's coded into our DNA and has been a part of our evolution from the ancient times of an era before civilization.
I think it's more coded into the pages of that Players magazine spread I found under my cousin's bed when I was like, 5. I did not give a fuck about lesbians before then.

>Are you okay with all the gay/lesbian characters in cartoons now?
I would be if the cartoons were any good and not just virtue signaling shit that promotes agendas. And if the gay characters were actually good characters.

>And what are examples of it done right?
I literally can't name any western cartoons.

Did someone force you to watch it? Then shut up.

Yea Forums hates lesbians but they’re more ok with male homosexuals cause they’re a bunch of homos themselves

nah fags are disgusting

I'm not okay with LGBT characters in cartoons because their gratuitous inclusion is a sign that either the writer's room is full of normies who just go along with the prevailing attitudes or SJWs trying to push an agenda. Or if the executives in charge are the same, trend-followers or psychopaths.

The best sort of inclusion would be where sexual minorities are present, but are depicted as repulsive or pitiable in some way, as a warning to normal people who might have same-sex attraction not to indulge in those desires.

>Are you okay with all the gay/lesbian characters in cartoons now?
Personally not interested and do not care for it.I guess if the cartoon was good and not virtue signalling wank, great? I would prefer to watch something interesting/fun, so if it has some gay/les stuff in it, I feel like the quality may vary (same effect applies to the fanbase). Regardless, I'm not interested in gay content in cartoons, so I would just watch something else. Lesbians are boring, gays are gross, but overall it does not effect my life at all.

>And what are examples of it done right?
I can't think of anything.

>Two queens
>B-buzzword

You have to mature

Attached: 1546832398585.jpg (251x265, 15K)

That's a lie, men being homos is even more annoying. Lesbians are the soft version of the matter.

>liking this shit-tier ship
Yurifags are truly the worst.

Attached: 1533482961145.jpg (1280x720, 197K)

>It would only count as such if a character that had heterosexual tendencies partners up with someone of the same gender, but I can't think of any that follow that trend.

Iceman

I'm ok as long as you have more to the characters then them being gay. If every other line out of them is just to remind me that they are indeed very gay then it really just becomes some lazy token character that's just shoved in to make the creative team behind the product look progressive. Ebony and Ivory right there in OP is actually a very good example.

What the fuck isn't even forced anymore to you people? They were barely in the show. I swear there is absolutely no way for you to not think the mere presence of gays/brown people /ect is in itself "forced". They could merely mention someone is gay and you people will thi k that's forced. You faggots are more obsessed with gays than the fags themselves.

I'm OK with gays and lesbians when they're in cartoons aimed to adults. Children shouldn't be exposed to this. At least kids don't watch cartoons anymore but there can always be some unfortunate accidents.

gayshit in amerishit cartoons is either cringy yaoi or yuri in the disguise of social justice, and the writing and the expression are too blatant and fucking cheap. they always only push their creepy nerd impulse and fujoshit hivemind on sns community before trying to tell something more than it to everyone.

both yaoi and yuri arent for mainstream media either. those sjws who are closet fujoshit howver ofc ignore it in a "being nerds is fine in mainstream today" or "this is diversity, fuck nazis" way, which are totally the wrong idea , and automatically everyone else ends up ignoring the whole genre.

IT'S ALL THESE CHEMICALS IN OUR CARTOONS THAT ARE TURNING OUR FREAKING CHILDREN GAY!!!

I'm not okay with it because it's pandering to an incredibly small segment of the world which wants to convince the majority that they aren't completely insignificant.

You're a sad human being.
What happened to you?

Alright. I came to the conclusion that according to Yea Forums, the best homosexual characters are the "don't tell, don't show" kind

Attached: 1551024322104.jpg (480x360, 22K)

I don’t like it at all

Attached: 06A36D33-6A14-4019-92F8-0A2B2D403631.png (712x866, 15K)

>are you okay with all the gay/lesbian characters in cartoons now?
No.

>the best homosexual characters are the "don't tell, don't show" kind
Except for Dumbledore because she didn't tell or show it in the books.

so you're okay with millions of little girls watching lesbians and thinking it's normal and becoming lesbians themselves ?

you sicken me, and the day Frozen 2 will have a lesbian story is the day the Occident will meet its downfall and I will gloat as I would have already left the western world for a better place untainted by Soddom and Gomorra's influence

you'll be sorry and I won't care

you imbecilic cancer

it makes no sense for straight people to hate gays but love lesbians

straight people should encourage gay men, as more gay = more girls available since they won't go after them

but encouraging lesbianism is the epitome of stupidity

the more lesbians the less girls will be interested in you and woud rather make out with the same sex than with you

all you idiotic mongrels always support lesbians, and lesbians are way more prominent in cartoons/television than gays

it is your fault, all of you, you will see the consequences

Elsa will be a lesbian, and little girls will all be lesbians because girls are very influencable

Men aren't as much influencable than females, so it wouldn't affect them to see gayness

it's your right to be gay

just don't put your homosexual fetishes in cartoons for normal people

normal people watch normal shows

gay people watch gay things

don't mix the two

you stupid fuggs ruined everything, but I'm not mad
as I said, the west doomed because of nincompoops such as you fag and I will be rejoincing to its doomsday from afar

Because that insignificant segment is somehow extremely significant to them.

Good gay relationships should be good relationships. So long as they develop it well and the characters have chemistry nobody should really give a shit. An example of a bad gay relationship is Korrasami because they tacked it on at the last minute with no build up. An example of a good relationship as much as people will hate me for saying this is Bubbiline because they actually established them previously being close and spent many episodes building up they're relationship. Would it have been better to have just confirmed it halfway through the series instead of at the last possible moment? Yes, but at least there was a foundation for a relationship there unlike Korrasami.

Attached: large.png (500x375, 112K)

Rather, treat it the same as heterosexual characters. To make it easier to understand, imagine the gay characters as one of them genderbend and think if it looks like your typical straight romance in a show.

For example, imagine if in the end of the show, Korra had gone with Bolin hand in hand to the portal. Do you think that would look good(from a storytelling point)? No, it would look absolutely ridiculous, that after all this time, suddenly they act like a couple.
And more importantly, the comics, don't try to make it a plotpoint. You can talk about the relationship, but don't make the homosexuality the focus of it.

If only there were ten times as many girls than guys

That is actually possible for Sciuridae family.
According to wiki
> Homosexual behavior is quite common in wild marmots.[81] In Olympic marmots (Marmota olympus) and Hoary Marmots (Marmota caligata), females often mount other females as well as engage in other affectionate and sexual behaviors with females of the same species.[81] They display a high frequency of these behaviors especially when they are in heat.[81][82] A homosexual encounter often begins with a greeting interaction in which one female nuzzles her nose on the other female’s cheek or mouth, or both females touch noses or mouths. Additionally, a female may gently chew on the ear or neck of her partner, who responds by raising her tail. The first female may sniff the other's genital region or nuzzle that region with her mouth. She may then proceed to mount the other female, during which the mounting female gently grasps the mounted female's dorsal neck fur in her jaws while thrusting. The mounted female arches her back and holds her tail to one side to facilitate their sexual interaction.[81][83]

I think that's part of the problem. It shouldn't be a reveal at all. It should just be. A reveal only works as a reveal if it's semihidden throughout the narrative, which then makes it feel like an asspull when we're shown anything. Especially when the only foreshadowing is the the character just wasn't interested in the opposite sex.

It seems to be the problem repeated over and over in the thread, anyway. There's always gonna be some homophobes, and there's always gonna be someone complaining about agendas, (and they're probably right- gays equal diversity which translates into money- ergo capitalism.)

But for the most part people seem to be complaining about quality of writing which is really the problem with most diversity pushes as of late.

So romantic

>the best homosexual characters are the "don't tell, don't show" kind
Yes. The "people will like it if it's treated the same as a heterosexual relationship" is bullshit. Since heterosexual romance is forced in cartoons annoyingly, and they'll hate it any way. So there's no winning unless they're gay and don't show it.

>the couple spends the majority of time together
>the couple goes to the same bedroom at night
Acceptable behavior?

>What the fuck isn't even forced anymore to you people?

Does the story needed it? No

Is it logical? No

Does the story pretends that it's logical? Yeah

That's forced gay pandering

>You faggots are more obsessed with gays than the fags themselves.

Nope, simply we don't like when gay pandering is included in our stories.

gays in ameritrash cartoons are all cringy yaoi/yuri. all of those are too nerdy and cringy. they cant come up with any other expression, like metaphor, connotation, dilemma, etc. all of them result in a blatant romance.

its 0/10 yaoi/yuri compared to the og japanese. none of them let you imagine anything. its forced. you must accept it at its face value.
they dont take criticism, just keep showing their cheap nerd sexual desire and whims a fucking shitty way because its social justice and to fuck nazis. this goes for those yaoi/yuri marvel comics too.

I'll be fine with it when the following two happens at least once.

-They show a gay man or a lesbian discover they're actually straight, because to ignore such a possibility implies that ANYBODY could become gay, but not the other way around.

-A bisexual woman ends up in a healthy, lasting relationship with a male.

And no, I don't expect either of these to ever happen.

I go to anime or /aco/ for my daily dose of women making out, cartoons can't do it right.

Bubbiline is a good example in a vacuum, but it's shit outside of it, it fucking ruined Finn.

gays don't matter

THIS so much. I actually really like The Dragon Prince but my god there is so much pandering in this show.

>Lesbian queens
>Interracial relationship
>Bi racial children
>Deaf characters
>Paralyzed character (granted it was only for like two episodes before he got healed but still)

It's like Aaron Ehaz wanted to one up Avatar the Last Airbender and went through a checklist of diversity. It comes off as pandering and doesn't feel natural

Attached: 1543781541486.jpg (1917x1078, 226K)

I've always felt that they should have just committed to Flame Princess or just cut out the romantic subplot with him after he found out Bubblegum wasn't interested. I get that Finn's character was dragged down by that stuff, but I don't think that that means Bubblegum and Marceline's relationship isn't well handled. Every time they are brought up someone inevitably brings up Finn when there were clear alternatives to what we got with him that wasn't putting him with one of the two.

There are a lot of people who like larping as oppressed outsiders who are obviously extremely privileged and have never really experienced true suffering.

This is basically just a repeat of the beatniks but a bit more popular.

It's all a gigantic larp.

It's so sad to see what a mockery of Christ burgers have made with their need for persecution.
Literally meetings of accusers wrapped up in false piety.

I miss when cartoons were subtle about their gay characters and wasn't throwing it in your face saying LOOK HOW PROGRESSIVE WE ARE. Shows like Static Shock and Hey Arnold truly were gems. Richie was confirmed gay by the creator but he was subtle about it. Mr. Simmons from Hey Arnold is another example. Writers these days need to take example from the older cartoons and let the characters be natural and subtle instead of being in your face jerking off how progressive it is like Dragon Prince, Steven Universe, Korra, Adventure Time etc.

Newfag

Attached: Aquaman story bro.png (500x443, 160K)

Hell even in the Hey Arnold The Jungle Movie that aired a couple years ago was subtle about Mr Simmons being gay. He simply hugged his partner before leaving for the trip. No kissing, no big deal. It was natural

Attached: hey arnold tjm.png (859x705, 728K)

Nowadays it's about checking them checkboxes.

No. Men rather fuck that women, rather than watching them making out with each other. Why? Because sex feels good and to pass on genetic code. Two men and two women are dead ends in the natural world. But you won't know anything about this...

Attached: 1546411165965.jpg (680x680, 62K)

>gearbox is gay
Holy shit

You mean Gear right? And yes he's gay. Dwayne McDuffie confirmed that he was gay but he wanted to be subtle about it. Like example, there was an episode where this Bang Baby could read peoples minds and she read Richie's mind and all his thoughts were about Virgil. Dwayne also said that he put other subtle things in there like Richie saying something like "I love girls" and Virgil would roll his eyes because he knew he was gay.

>They show a gay man or a lesbian discover they're actually straight
On the surface this sounds logical ("if straight people become gay, where are the gay people who become straight?") but you have to realize that we live in a heteronormative society. Most gay people grow up assuming they're straight. Until recently, gay people grew up surrounded by countless examples of positive heterosexual relationships and very few examples of homosexuality at all (and those examples were usually stereotypical or outright monstrous). Most gay people only accept they're gay after internally ruling out any possibility they could be straight, but straight people rarely do that much introspection (which is why it's extremely unlikely you'll find a gay person who never considered the possibility that they could be straight). The one example I can think of is Erika Moen's DAR! but she goes from lesbian to bisexual, not straight.

>A bisexual woman ends up in a healthy, lasting relationship with a male
This happens in Dykes to Watch Out For.

>When is Yea Forums ever okay with homosexuals?
You do realize Yea Forums invented the Marceline/Bubblegum ship back in the day, right? We were the first to hop onto that shit, Tumblr just ran off with it.

When they're well-written I like em, but Yea Forumsmbler inhales the cock of anything LGBT because this board is nothing but subhuman progressive migrants from elsewhere that need to be shot

Attached: gus wally.jpg (400x303, 44K)

You just copy pasted this shit from

I'm perfectly okay with it, the amount of bitching over lesbians on this board is getting ridiculous

What a stupid take. The reason why those characters weren't more overtly gay was because the crew would be flayed alive for having a gay character in a kids show back then. You might as well praise JK Rowling for her subtle writing of Dumbledor. There is being subtle and there is being practically nonexistent.
Why is a gay character simply being in a relationship with someone openly unsubtle? In real life your gay friends aren't going to conveniently never mention that they're gay or never be in a relationship with someone.
You just sound like you want to stick it to the SJWs or some shit. I get that a lot of people obsess over a characters sexuality and have the subtlety of a freight train, but that doesn't apply if it's well written. I can't wait for people to stop caring about this shit so we can just tell stories instead of REEEEing over "progressives" or "representation".

Cringe

No and I hope any thread about it goes to shit and anyone fine with it has their bloodline die out for they are weak.

yes, we do

>heteronormative
the law of nature

>its depressing that not all of 4chans comic and cartoon userbase respects my shit taste uwu
Fuck off and die

No its shit.
I used to actually respond to threads about it but I've decided to just hide the threads unless some faggot shits up threads about shit I like.

>delusional fag who intentionally forgets how butthurt Yea Forums got over HeRa, Adventure times ending, Luna Loud, etc. because it would hurt their mental hitbox image
I hope you get depression so bad you accedentaly starve yourself.

>Make a point as to how gay shit is acceptable only for porn
>Make a point as to how we decry a deeper exploration of gay relationships as pandering propaganda.

Thanks for proving my point.

>the best series to depict a lesbian relationship is Utena
oh sweetie...

Attached: 1521695329708.gif (600x293, 2.14M)

Oh shut the fuck up. You can not tell me shit like this isn't straight up pandering to critics and idiots like you who jerk off shows like Adventure Time and Steven Universe for being SO PROGRESSIVE!! This isn't natural this is forced as fuck

Attached: princess-bubblegum-marceline-kiss-adventure-time-finale.jpg (750x422, 60K)

this is why anime keeps winning
nobody says shit liek that and forces anything on any fan either. everyone always has many options to choose from

amerimutt cartoon industry is small yet too fucking biased. the whole of mutt geek industry has been gay/tranny driven and controlled by sjw fujo cunts.

No, it's just that as more hugboxes popped up for the faggots this place attracted more conservatives.

Don't use "we" as if you speak for the majority, faggot, of course Yea Forums love traps. Your gay if you don't

Yeah but animals also eat shit.
It's not productive to society.

Literally anything will be pandering to people like you. Your version of a well written gay character is that they pretty much never show that they're gay and have a crew member confirm that they're gay after the fact. Just admit that you can't stand looking at gay people.

Nigga that's called a fetish and you have to condition your brain to enjoy a fetish.

>showing girls kissing will make my boy want to suck dick
based retard

Lets be honest, the only reason lesbians are alright is because lesbian relationships are really fetishized. If it were two dudes in a kids cartoon there would be a mass uproar.

>sexual minorities are present, but are depicted as repulsive or pitiable in some way
Fuking this.
This would be the most believable depiction of fags in anything because it fits what I've seen in actual homosexual couples I've met with in counceling.

Remember when AtLA devoted like 30s worth of open mouth kissing between two children for the very last scene? That's what I want more of.

but in any case, it's fine. I'm happy when lgbt characters are presented without question. If you can swap out one of the characters with the opposite sex and it doesn't seem noticeable, then that's what I consider "doing it right", of which there are many examples of this.

>Two male leads of El dorado we’re supposed to be gay
Source? Cause nothing confirmed it

>Iceman
I'm will forever be salty and await until another fan gets into the writer's room to fix thatistake.

Holy shit I literally gave two perfect examples of gay representation done right and subtle. Where the gay character is just that, gay and not shoved in your fucking face and jerking off progressive.

Attached: hey arnold mr simmons.png (430x480, 266K)

You clearly didnt watch the show.

>"Yea Forums is tumblr you guize!!!1!!"
>when sjw shit/diversity pandering is widely frowned upon and 80% of people supporting it are blatant trolls baiting people into freaking out over it
I really don't understand this meme.

Attached: smug_will.png (640x640, 545K)

Gus and Wally from Mission Hill(One of the best I'd seen)
Apollo and Midnighter.
Mikall Thomas and Tony (Starman)
Wiccan and Hulking (only know them because they were pushed hard for a while)
Rictor and Shatterstar
Northstar and Kyle Jinadu(Was a big marvel event)
I think Ultimate Colossus hooked up with somebody too.

I dislike lesbians in all fiction, it is such a blatant attempt to appear "progressive" while taking almost no risk. The Dragon Prince pair is particularly retarded, because even in a world where everyone accepts and respect homosexuality an open monogamous relationship with someone of the same sex(if you are royalty) is just asking for your backers to assassinate you and replace you with someone more stable and fertile.

Obviously, it is a kid show showing a kinder, more warped view of royalty that seems to derive its authority from the plot, but this is the same show that paraphrased John Rawls's Theory of Justice.

So Yea Forums is Japan?

>Yea Forums be honest, are you okay with all the gay/lesbian characters in cartoons now?
For the most part, but as several other people already mentioned here it has to be subtle and well-written (with and being great examples, I never noticed that Mr. Simmons was gay when I was watching Hey Arnold growing up but it more noticeable while watching it as an adult.
>And what are examples of it done right?
I already listed them in earlier. Modern cartoons can't do it right because writers (or "writers" if we're talking about board-driven shows) today fail on so many counts...
>Progressivism for the sake of progressivism
>LGBT show runners wanting to make a show that the LGBT community can appreciate (not an inherent evil itself, but can be an issue when combined with others in this list).
>Storyboarders hat have been with the show since its beginning leaving for various reasons and said storyboarders being replaced with artists that are either extremely LGBT-positive while also being extremely cis-negative and/or taking part in said show's shipping scene.
>Showrunners and/or storyboarders failing to understand the old "show, don't tell" rule that exists in television or those choosing to ignore it completely.
I'm pretty sure there are others, but they aren't coming to me very easily.
>You can not tell me shit like this isn't straight up pandering to critics and idiots like you who jerk off shows like Adventure Time and Steven Universe for being SO PROGRESSIVE!!
IIRC said scene in question originally had PB and Marceline hugging sans kiss until one storyboarder wrote "REALLY?!" next to the scene, Muto bent the knee and added the kiss in.

>the best homosexual characters are the "don't tell, don't show" kind
Yeah they really are

No, what sort of delusional headspace do you live in?
Please go back to it.

Liar, the shitstorms between yuri and hetero shippers are fucking legendary in anime. Pretty sure you can go on Yea Forums and 2chan and find someone pissed about yuri right now.

Seiously, people forget how influential anyone under 25 is.
They have to be conditioned to fit into society their whole lives and even them some get fucked over into oucasts.
If you tell kids it ok to be gay then they'll condition themselves to be gay rather than actually trying to fit into society and find a mate.
I dont know how people haven't figured this shit out yet, they just refuse to see the truth.

Did you not listen to a single thing I said? All your examples of subtle gay characters are that way because they literally couldn't show gay characters so the most they could do is have incredibly small nods to it or just confirming it outside of the show itself. Gay people aren't magical creatures that hide in plain sight and only drop tiny hints of what they are. Unless the character is supposed to be in the closet tiptoeing around it doesn't make sense. I'm not saying that they should make a big deal out of it, but you might as well add Dumbledor to your list of perfect gay representation with the pattern you're showing. Can you name any gay character that is actually in a non-hidden relationship that you like? You'd have way more ground to stand on if you could at least do that. Simmons doesn't count because they only really confirmed it on screen years later when nobody cared about that stuff anymore.

True this. I think that people are hyper sensitive to minorities rn because our culture makes it a point. That and a lot of these types of chatactets are written poorly (because White/straight allies make up most writers and they don't have the experience,) and so even when it is fine properly people are quick to find flaws in it because of their past experiences with the way these types are usually written. Basically, they were cool with it, maybe even initially supported it, but now they're borderline bigots because they're so defensive. And they're so defensive because they're made out to be bigots over trivial things and the writers get defensive over their bad writing and call even legit criticisms bigotry.

Sounds like it was written by a furry

Gay kids exist. I don't understand this argument at all. The only difference between straight relationships and gay ones is partner. Other than that its the same. Ask anyway person today and they'll tell you they were gay af as a kid even if they aren't aware at the time. That, and they probably had some serious struggles with it that wouldn't have happened had some of those characters existed for them when they were young. Gay people are gay despite only being exposed to straight stuff as kids. Kids will still grow up majority straight even if they see homos on TV.

>we live in a heteronormative society
Did you mean a society based around simple biological facts?

This.
At the end of the day it doesnt matter if some faggot discovered fire, the most important discovery inmankinds history, because we dont know his name and he didnt pass his genes on.

You give too much credit to soulless corporations literally destroying the planet. Anyway, parents should raise their kids, not fucking cartoons.

What you're blaming on media is a parenting problem. Parents should be the ones making sure their children understand the world they're going into and how to survive in it while making the best of their talents and skills, not expecting children's television to do the work.

St Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas didn't pass their genes but they're far more influential than any of us will ever be

This was fine because it wasn't aimed at children.

Exactly

What the fuck happened to this show? I barely heard anyone talk about it when it started, and no one talking about a week after. Is it any good? Am I being retarded?

Attached: MV5BMDQ2OGIwNDAtYjc0MS00MzIwLTgxNjktNWU4YjM2MDgxYmNiXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyOTE4NzcwNzI@._V1_.jpg (1900x2850, 977K)

>pretty much never show that they're gay
Yes, you finally understand!
See guys? We can teach he mentally damaged to read!

You sound like you're assblasted that Stacey rejected you and became a lesbian. Regardless, have sex.

Ignore this lel I am retarded

Attached: download (9).jpg (300x168, 5K)

No but it may turn him into an ntr cuck

>Seriously, people forget how influential anyone under 25 is.
>influential
I believe the word you're thinking of is "influenced", saying that that they're influential means they'd have some sort of pull in media.
Gay people aren't magical creatures that hide in plain sight and only drop tiny hints of what they are. Unless the character is supposed to be in the closet tiptoeing around it doesn't make sense.
It does when you want to show of a LGBT-aligned character as a normal, relatable person and not a walking pride parade.
>I'm not saying that they should make a big deal out of it, but you might as well add Dumbledore to your list of perfect gay representation with the pattern you're showing.
And that, given the skills modern day writers have shown, leads us to a major "damned if you do, damned if you don't" kind of situation that no writer wants to end up in.

So I'm gonna ask the simple question: What's wrong with being gay? What's wrong with kids seeing gays on TV? And what's wrong with kids becoming gay. No "downfall of western culture" or "Well the bible says" allowed

Lmao you're a fag if you don't like traps.

>an open monogamous relationship with someone of the same sex(if you are royalty) is just asking for your backers to assassinate you and replace you with someone more stable and fertile
This is interesting. I dont really know about Dragon Prince, what is the excuse behind them?

says a tumblr landwhale

creepy

This is completely true but the guy you're talking to is a female teenager and she is confused because nobody cares about faggots just like people do in Tumblr and reddit.

I just want to let you know you are correct, thank you for this nugget of information.
Shit you right, thank you for correcting my grammar.

Being gay has no purpose and even worst it's unhealthy for the body, that's from a medical point of view.

wow, a fag hipster. Just when I thought hipsters couldn't get any worse

You mean the people you would meet in literally the most confirmation bias affirming manner? I shudder to imagine the kind of councelling you help with in any way.

Literally who?

The basis for western civilization

Passing on your genetic code is your ONE job as a living creature and some illogical people want to make a subculture out of getting into a relationship that doesnt involve that.
And before you say
>but straight couples who are infertile!
That is a disability and in the long run they too are wasting air and space.
See furthur:
>GaysAreErrorsGreentext.jpg

Based ignorant heathen

Literally who?

>REEEE MUH WESTERN CIVILIZATION, MUH TRADITIONAL VALUES
>REEEE DON'T ERASE HISTORY
>know shit about western culture and history
Carrying a confederate flag and nazi iconography worth shit

Attached: the master race.jpg (480x320, 32K)

>Passing on your genetic code is your ONE job as a living creature
No it's not actually.
You have no jobs as a living creature.
Evolution doesn't care about a single strand of DNA, it cares about the overall species. It cares about whether there is a future for the species, about whether the species has an environment in which it can continue to grow, about whether members of the species can be saved to reproduce later, etc.
An asexual doctor who never reproduces but saved a thousand babies' lives has contributed more to their species than some guy who made two kids. If a gay couple adopted a child and raised them well then they have succeeded where the couple who made the child but abandoned it failed, for raising someone who is raised well and therefore likely to contribute to the species in more ways than just making another baby is more valuable than simply just making another baby.

Beep boop, video evidence.

Attached: IMMENSE SATISFACTION.gif (192x108, 1.13M)

>Gay people aren't magical creatures that hide in plain sight
They are if they know what is good for them. Aloha Akbar.

>denying the biggest staple in evolution is to have kids more adapted to the environment via genetic mutation being passed down
Keep being ignorant, insipid poison upon humankind.

>he STILL doesnt know

Yea Forums media can't depict good, believable lesbians. Yea Forums does it seamlessly.

>your ONE job
There are a lot of jobs other than fucking which the species needs to survive. Even if one does not reproduce, they can still help the population anyway by doing other jobs.

I mean, by that logic if you are spending your time performing any action other than impregnation, you are being just as wasteful as a homosexual.

It's still cringey and forced. Also it's absurd to see the loli queen crying about 'her mothers' that she never knew. No, it's her mother and some person with no connection to her. There's not going to be any emotional connection to an unknown step parent.
Well, unless the whole kingdom of trannies meme is true.

Two males had a son? I don't get it.

>Post opinion that you know Yea Forums won’t agree with
>Thread will hit the bump limit, while story time threads never got replies
You are the reason that this board has gone to shit.

This might be true of the Boomers and 11 year olds who came over here from reddit after Trump was elected and the Stormfront reactionaries who colonized /pol/, but in the past a lot of yuri fans have always been men. Some like porn of it, sure, but some of it is "purest love" shit that glamorizes the idea of cute, soft, and gentle love. I don't think that's any more or less weird than fujoshits glamorizing boy love. But for both groups of shippers, it's not just about porn. Yea Forums has seen plenty of shipping fights about yuri pairings over the years that play out just like straight shipping fights.
Bubbline didn't remotely ruin Finn, the writing in general did. I wouldn't even say "ruined" either but let's be honest with ourselves, the later seasons were a let down despite not having much romance at all. The Lich storyline and lots of the other narratives were just wasted.
Bubbline was fine. It wasn't in the show very much, but didn't come out of nowhere, either. Some people who worked on the show shipped the characters and put it in the show. That would be annoying if it took over the entire fucking show (think of Green Arrow's Olicity crap) but they kept it very low key and incidental. People sperging out about Bubbline are either butthurt shippers or have some political soapbox they're banging on about.
Legend of Korra didn't do a great job, but the lesbo ship basically wasn't even in it. The first season love square crap was much more annoying. And the show was never good.

Attached: madohomu.gif (500x248, 999K)

In fact, I really can't think of a show offhand that was really ruined by a homo ship the way that shitty "will they or won't they" forced love drama with heterosexual relationships used to shit on live action sitcoms and dramas by becoming a tumor that takes over the entire plot and entire show. I'm thinking of shit like Friends, YA crap like Dawson's Creek, Mulder and Scully shit, How I Met Your Mother, lots of shows turned into spinning their wheels repeating the same few forced couple drama plots with the same boring couple every episode. Homo stuff is usually very low key in cartoons, so low key there's plausible deniability in most scenes and viewers may not even notice they exist. In fact, Dragon Prince is the one I can think of that might have been most in-your-face and virtue signaling about it (an interracial couple of heroic lesbians who immediately kiss onscreen!) and people here don't care because it doesn't interfere with their shipping, or maybe just because people don't watch DP. Even then I think DP is just fine, I mean that's a case where they were drawing more attention to it than most of say AT or Korra where general viewers barely even noticed it was so subtle.

Attached: TV-Couples-Ross-Rachel-Friends.jpg (1920x960, 164K)

Those gays in cartoons are all cheap bad copies of Japanese anime/manga. It's basically the western version of yaoi or yuri shit. Never seen anyone more than it.

Americans have been really pretentious and preachy about political correctness since a few years ago but western cartoons/comics didn't even have decent gay representation at all and were ignoring them. They couldn't make it themselves. So they just sneakily ape and reproduce Japanese stuff despite SJWs fucking hating Japanese.
