At the time Luke was hanging out with the Comicsgate crowd to shill his comic book, for that reason alone there's more than a couple of people with a hate boner for him.

I firmly believe the insider was a woman because of how hard they went after Hirsch and complained about how the female animation guild is useless, there was a lot of complaining about relationships and spreading rumors about STDs.
