Is there a reason for this character to still exist in 2019 now that we have the actual Wally West back and he's even getting to be in a TV show (Stargirl)?

user... I hate to tell you, but the OG Wally was killed in Kings Massacre

He’s basically Bart who has only appeared in Young Justice.

Bart appeared at the epilogue of Flash War, personally I would rather his story still be in The Flash rather than Young Justice... that book has been awful

No, read last issue, he's alive and resurrected Ivy with his speed force magic or something.

Then said she’s about to see him die and the others have said his dead body placed his death very soon.

While it sucks every hero has to have a bloated "family" of clones, I've come to dig him in Priest and Glass's hands. He's more fleshed out and complicated than most of the newer bland kids in both publishers.

Actually reading the last Teen Titan's issue now. He's kind of a useless character but they can't axe him because it would "racist"... This is why minority replacement characters are such a problem, you make these scenarios that are now awkward to write with. Now we just have two people with the same name for some reason, coincidentally being the Flash.

There has to be a to write out the mess.

>useless
He is, along with Damian, the most important Titan in the issue and presumably arc as he has a history with Deathstroke.

Yeah. Why are Barry and Wally both named Flash. Oh you mean two people with the same first and last name. That’s so unrealistic, especially in comics. And yeah let’s get rid of Kid Flash in a Teen Titans comic, those comics never had a speedster with that name on it. It’s totally because he’s unnecessary, not any other reason.

Once you create a minority character, or change an existing character into one, you can never go back. Not unless you want 'people' calling you any of the words that end in ist.

I said KIND OF. Not fully useless. Useless as in, he's not his own character and he's shares too much in common with Wally. They need to break him off, I actually liked him in this I like how he has history now, but I just feel bad that he's has such an awkward position, I wish he had his own name and own title and history. Move him from away from being "black Wally"... It's for the best.

>Why are Barry and Wally both named Flash.

I mean how much of a coincidence is it that too people named Wally West both got zapped and giving speed force? It doesn't matter with one Wally, but with too Wally's it looks weird. They can write this out though, it didn't have to be a coincidence. Hell, what if Eobard Thawne went back in time to kill Wally West but he got the wrong Wally West? There are tons of people in the same cities with the same names. Somehow that encounter left black Wally susceptible to the speed force later one.

They went back to Ronnie Raymond/Martin Stein Firestorm while getting rid of the Jason Rusch one without any trouble.

And plenty of minority characters have ended up falling into limbo.

You're an idiot if you think that will stick. This entire event has been a mess and will be swept under the rug

The whole flash powers gotten by random science accident needs to be retconned so something is logically behind it all. We got Barry, the two Wally's, and we're going to get back Jay eventually.

Killing off minority replacements/legacies isn't impossible.

It was retconned you fucking retards. Barry generates all the speedforce in existence and ran so fast that he became the lightning bolt/speed force bolt that gave him his powers. You can assume Barry is also the lightning bolts that hit the Wallys too.

Not really, but he's black so they couldn't get rid of him.

I don't think that retcon is the case anymore. Basically all Flash lore has dropped the "he creates the Speed Force" thing and just went back to the original Waid style "The Speed Force randomly empowers people."

He's the "bad boy" of the flash family.

Yeah I was about to argue just like "when?" I've been trying to keep up with Flash and I haven't heard anything like that.

That's what I'm talking about, a little bit of both, a random accident that stars a chain of events that aren't random accidents.

No one remembers Mosaic.

Bump.

While that's true (just ask Beth Chapel), that was before the Current Year era began (roughly 2010ish). Now minority characters have to be perfect and invulnerable.

Who is the most popular character who doesn't have a bunch of expies? Cyborg? Metamorpho?

Kill off every speedster except Wally, Bart, Wallace and Jay.
