One of my teachers in HS worked in advertising food, they'd put motor oil, paint, whatever nasty stuff to make the advertised product look as aesthetically pleasing as possible so people would buy. Food in anime is essentially being dolled up in the same way, except they have 10000x the ability to make it look even better because they're literally drawing and creating and painting exactly how it should look to get the maximum appeal.

I literally get banned just for saying "tranny" on some boards now even if my post doesn't break the rules. Either there's tranny mods on the boards I browse or Yea Forums's temperament is becoming like Tumblr.
