It's not hard to be better than SU. Just design characters that don't look atrociously bland and don't inject non-stop progressive left-wing bullshit into your story.
V&V has some good character design, albeit heavily Gravity Falls/Loud Hojuse derived, and it's stories are decent and not trying to subvert the viewer with a political message (though still waiting for the episode where an orange demonic entrepreneur with tiny hands locks Victor in a cage), it's still got an hair of mediocrity around it and Victor is almost as grating of a main character as the fat little crying jew was.

SU S1 makes this show look like hot garbage, even later seasons it's much better. It's better than SU at its absolute worst (i.e. shit townie like Rocknaldo) though for what good that means. You wanting to fuck some ugly little girl doesn't make it better.
