nice cover
Ordinarily I would hate stuff like this but I find it weirdly appropriate. Maybe having the frame of mind of knowing this is a Young Animal title helped.
While not hooded like I was with Bug, I'm definitely intrigued. Also has anyone by chance happen to have downloaded the BUG rar? Would like to know if it worked out for peeps.
Thanks for the storytime.
You all make it worth it. Also gives me an excuse to read up on comics I normally never would have.
One of my favorite comics even if i feel i'm too stupid to grasp a lot of what happened in it. Was the pregnancy from Megan ever resolved?
thnx for storytime probro
I really like the art
I have absolutely no idea. I have literally been out of the comics world for the past 2-3 years. The last Marvel event I remember is Secret Empire.
I remember this one.
It was okay in the beginning but it dragged on a bit.
Also the poetry was gay.
Cunt.
I really liked this, it's fucking weird that it's by the same person as that awful Furies book.
This is gratifying and horrifying
I would murder someone if they forced me to go back and relive middle-school. I would be so happy if I could just blank years 11-14 of my life. No growth occurred during that period. That's what 18-27 was.
I've actually never read Furies. Going in completely blind.
Well fuck.
Why was Shade so good, but FF is soooo bad
I really like this page. It feels honest. Maybe I've been drinking too much.
>I don't want to be here for one more day.
Welcome to depression sweetheart. I find going to sleep really early helps.
The fact that Megan seems like the villain despite Shade literally hijacking her body is fascinating. This was well done.
>If you get this body back you'll be in a coma.
I'm genuinely curious why Megan didn't stop to ponder this reality. Or at least try to cut a deal to get a passenger seat and special privileges on occasion. Then again that might just be because Mean is a narcissistic sociopath monster.
Oh fuck! Then again, I'm kinda glad Megan is not done yet? The fact that Shade is better liked than her is irrelevant, it's her body. Evict that bitch. So far Young Animal is 2/2!!!
Will continue on with the second arc tomorrow along with links to these issues and more!!!
Nah Shade still seemed like a narcissistic sociopath to me.
Anyway thinks for the storytimes.
FF wasn't that bad. Then again my taste may be shit and its completely okay to call me out. I think the quality difference is just strikeing
Glad to hear competing thoughts. Despite all that Megan is, she is still in the right here.
When FF was on, it was fucking on. Every part of the issue was a fucking delight. When it dragged on though, it was only held together by the combined forces of the Allreds. I still really enjoyed the final issue regardless of how much influence Fraction had. Seeing Scott literally dismantle doom was one of the more graitfying scens in comic history. Doom took Cassie, so Scott took Doom. His reputation is done. His image in the eyes of the public dismantled. Scott did the unthinkable and made god bleed. Also "We Who Are" made him his bitch.
I meant Female Furies. Not Fantastic Four.
>salt 'n' vinegar
God, I can only tolerate those like once a year.
So how is everyone like the Young Animal title so far? IMO this imprint title has been exactly what it needs to be. Ridiculous further than any DC title while still being approachable. It's not Vertigo or Wildstorm, but it's something.
Unrelated to everything, but how would peeps feel about a Wildstorm storytime after Young Animal? It would start with Volumes 1-3, as many extra titles I can collect, and Ellis' current run.
You're certainly touching on one of the themes for this book. You could argue that the book shows that, at first, Shade doesn't deserve Meghan's life any more than Meghan does, due to Shade's own history of manipulative relationships and wasted youth. However, Shade feels regret for both Loma's and Meghan's failings, and isn't hostile by nature. Meghan, by contrast, sees other people's lives as things to play with.
These pages in particular support your point. She's still playing around, acting like her actions don't have consequences, even when thinking about her "ex" boyfriend that she never properly broke up with. It would be reasonable to think he'd lose his job over his role in the theft, although the torture would be a stretch.
Although, this looks like personal growth setting in. Kiddie shit, sure, but the author makes it clear that Shade and Meghan both need the life lessons that adolescence is supposed to provide. This would be where the author gives Shade the license to pursue her second chance, despite the fact that pushing Meghan out was murder.
I don't know bro, but you posted something from one of my favorite all time comics so I like you. Jacob Marlowe and his silver/pink suit is one of the most based designs comics' has ever seen. Too baby we'll never see again.
