The first season was the best one because it was the closest to its roots as a satire of reality TV going nuts in the 2000s. It used being animated as a way to make jokes and go to places actual reality shows only pretended to. As the dumpster fire of reality TV slowly faded to trashy embers, the Total Drama series got lost in its own overgrown lore and world building. The franchise stopped being about, what it was about and mutated into something unrecognizable to fans of season one who had left the shows behind.

Many episodes of TDI, 16teen, and other Canadian made series were censored for their american release. Episodes featuring censored nudity and words like testicles often had to be redubbed or dropped from syndication in the US.
