Hollywood really needs to stop trying to leech off comics. They're literally just grabbing random characters and trying to make franchises around them, the more human the better since they're thinking they don't have to put any fucking effort into custome designs or anything. Sony seriously talked about making an Aunt May movie. This is getting fucking ridiculous.

Might as well name their movies "Name You Recognize From Comic Book Related Thing!" because that's what they're producing and going for. The comics let themselves being adapted hoping it would drive sales and interest towards the comics, it doesn't. Normies and casuals like their easy, low-effort TV watching. This is why they don't even see anything stupid here, to them it's all just media to be consumed.
