This isn't the last piece of Adventure Time media, there's still the other comic going, and if I'm remembering right another graphic planned to be released, and there's probably going to be more after that. Just the end to a bad comic.

A bad comic that had just gotten good.

literally when?

These last two issues? The ones that weren't badly written crap that regard Finn as a minor character?

This isn't bad, but man, Finn looking for a new home is one of the first plots they ever did, and it's amazing just how much better it was done in that, with so much less talking and drama, in about 4 minutes
There's also a lot of contradictions here.. I mean.. Finn clearly isn't growing taller, at least not since HW has known him
and Minerva has never been limited to programming, she's a fully uploaded mind

It's not a super bad ending in terms of ending-tone, but it's pretty unsatisfying

Glad they added in PB offering a place to stay in the Candy Kingdom. I know these comics aren't technically cannon. But I actually find the latest two issues to be a good send off for AT. Finn has a new home built with the help of his friends, his mother now is apart of his life, seems like they manages to squeeze in HW and Finn teasing. There's a lot of stuff emotionally Finn has to work out that which it's a shame we never really get to seen Finn Finn bounce back. But he has strong emotional support group he'll be fine.

Based

Just because Finn plays a role in his own series doesn't mean it's good. If the plot and writing are garbage Finn being the star of the shit show won't save it. It's a shitty story and has none of the charm of the original series or earlier comics. Beginning of the End puts Finn in a prime role and it does while being funny, creative, and still emotionally compelling, and that isn't even one of the better comics

What are the better comics?

Besides about half the issues of the original comic run, Card Wars was a great miniseries (and Fionna typically is free from a lot of the baggage writers try to shovel on to Finn), Seeing Red (mostly just because Jake and Marceline didn't real get to have much of a dynamic in the show before it went nuclear so it was really cool to see), Playing with Fire does a great job of capturing the tone of the show and building Flame Princess's and Finn's relationship (something the show didn't do nearly enough of the justify trying to make the viewers care when they broke up), The Winter Special had great stories and styles, there's probably a lot more I'm forgetting to mention. And none of them contain a society of full of normal humans, something that shouldn't have existed in the show, shouldn't exist now, and definitely shouldn't contain "Finn's Mom."

>It's a shitty story and has none of the charm of the original series or earlier comics
Why do people like the Ryan North comics? Not all, but most of them were really lame. It was like Adventure Time written by a not funny person trying very hard to be funny and failing most of the time and all the characters were shallow and not as entertaining as they should've been. Sometimes they had interesting plots but that was about the one redeeming quality. I certainly enjoyed these two issues and Beginning of the End more than the majority of those.

You are right that Playing With Fire is probably the best AT comic stuff ever though.

You're right in saying nothing will touch the original series and graphic novels and maybe people are too quick to heap praise on Ted for writing cartoonFinn not getting dunked on or supplanted by lesbians for once.

>Beginning of the End puts Finn in a prime role and it does while being funny, creative, and still emotionally compelling, and that isn't even one of the better comics
Ted also wrote Beginning of the End. This is AT cartoon canon Finn and not ComicFinn. Also, he apparently was restricted to two issues so I can cut him some slack here.

>Glad they added in PB offering a place to stay in the Candy Kingdom.
After god knows how long its been after the Finale. She extended an offer for Marceline right after GOLB but it took her this long for Finn and Jake.

Marceline = Girl = Not smelly.
Finn and Jake = Boy and Dog = smelly
Easy choice.
(Take the bait... take the bait...)

>Marceline
>the chick who was shown to have literal alive insects crawling around in her belly
>not smelly
She's literally a corpse, probably is rotting all the time and that's why Finn never tried that hard to sum fuk

this artist has a fucking garbage and lazy art style
writing is pretty shit too
what a massive disappointment

That was a gag you dork. Not that it matters since this is a wacky fantasy setting with little internal consistency; you got anthropomorphic candy people and a magic/alien dog that impregnates a flesh eating rainbow horse.

You were useless, Finn

>Ted also wrote Beginning of the End. This is AT cartoon canon Finn and not ComicFinn. Also, he apparently was restricted to two issues so I can cut him some slack here.
I wasn't criticizing the writer. Whatever circumstances, or condition he had to work under, or any writer has to work under for that matter, still impacts the quality of the work, whether it's their fault or not.

this reaction image wasn't supposed to be there

I mean I agree with all of what you said. I'm just happy to not be disappointed by AT for once in a long time

Didn't we learn this lesson in season 1?

THIS

Playing with Fire is probably the best or at least one of the best comic like stories related to AT. And it's very accurate when it comes to the problems with the Finn of the last years.

>Being a hero

DELETE! The new Finn is more mature and understands he can't be the macho savior every time!

I ask myself if this guy was a McHale's character too. They have different "pieces to play" according to them.
