cause he black

Half decent writers?
So are the others.

cause he gay

Because the comic version is basically a black Peter Parker with nothing that made the teenaged Peter Parker interesting. The writers ignored pretty much all of it beyond the base premise of him being the new Spider-Man and facing the pressure of having to live up to these expectations and did their own thing instead.

Cause anime girl in it

He actually does black shit this time. If you're going to have a black Peter Parker let him be black for fuck's sake.

Actually good writing. Who would've thought?

The other versions are fine though

bendis isn't writing him and he's gets a consistent characterization

He is given an arc that is his own, character growth that distinguishes himself from Peter Parker even as he embraces being Spider Man. Their stories are similar but different enough that movie Miles feels like an addition or a successor, but never a copy or a replacement.

Comic miles was, outside of a few standout stories, cardboard and blatant filler. He was JUST 'the black spider man'.

They actually cared to develop him a little instead of just making him black and calling it a day. Peter being his slightly out of shape but still extremely competent mentor to contrast with him being a rookie also helps.

Peter was used in all the advertising. They knew what people wanted to see and baited it.

Well written and actually has a personality

They gave him a personality and something to actually distinguish him from Peter, rather than just having him be a lazy palette swap. Just having the distinction of Peter being a scientist while Miles is an artist is a really great one that has alot of potential in how they handle being Spider-Man differently.

616 miles still has no backstory

>616 miles

>user

he was well written its alla bout the fucking writing thats what people have been saying for years and they never listened till now

Because the comic version had a few good ideas but barely bothered to work on characters.

Case in point: Miles gets used to using his invisibility and venom blast powers very fast in the comic, and often times it feels like it's done to speed the story up, rather than giving any thought to it. In the cartoon it's only when he has control of both that he truly becomes Spider-Man.

>They made him more visually appealing by making him look less Puerto Rican
>They made him look more visually appealing by giving more of a home-made and repurposed look to his suit with the added street clothes
>Because Homecoming Peter Parker subsumed a lot of the traits of Miles Ultimate Spider-man they had to go a different direction with his characterization
>A bit of this was with making him a more popular kid (kind of like Garfield's Spider-man_ but more into arts and music than "boring" and often derided science which is different from the usual Parker stuff.
>His character arc wasn't a metaphor for puberty. It was instead about feeling othered and overwhelmed by expectations.
>The drama with his uncle Aaron was condensed and more guilt ridden for Miles. No weird trying to be a mob enforcer and "You are just like me" moment.
>He actually interacts with Peter Parker, with the mentorship moments being endearing
>Ganke wasn't even named (I still don't know how the heck his name's supposed to be pronounced), didn't have the "guy in the chair" moments or the embarrassing reveal that we see in Homecoming.
>They tied in his stupid extra power that's kind of OP and overused in the comics to an impactful and humorous scene with Aaron (the shoulder touch).

Not being written by Bendis is 80% of what it takes.

>He was JUST 'the black spider man'.
You know, Spider-verse and the PS4 game helped me realize that this isn't true. Even in the comics Miles has something that sets him apart from Peter; a support network.

Peter, when he was Spider-man, had to figure out everything on his own.. He was alone. It wrecked his life. Miles has always had Jessica, or Peter, or May, or Ganke, and now even his parents know. He's got people in his corner, that can guide him, and people that can cover for him so his social life isn't as much of a wreck. That's a big difference in the dynamic.

He's an actual character now and not a token minority.

Basically these, Miles feels like an actual character instead of "black Peter"

because the masses don't read comics so they had no idea he existed

For the longest time he was written by just Bendis and Waid. Now they're off his titles and he's being written better in other mediums.

He's his own character. He isn't a replacement for Spiderman. He's a different version with his own personality. The creator made him for his black son to relate to so it was also created out of love not corporate greed for fucking once.

HiWell, for instance his movie wasn't written by Bendis.

That's why

>He's his own character. He isn't a replacement for Spiderman. He's a different version with his own personality.
He is, literally, a replacement for Spider-man.

I kind of wish he didn't ditch the street clothes over his costume. It made him look that much more unique and visually interesting.

>forgetting that miles was transplanted into 616 by molecule man and 616 miles was a thug that now lives in another reality

He had a dad.
