The TV show GLOW, about a irl women's wrestling federation in the 80s, just got a new comic book series that starts today.
I have not read it, so I have no idea how good (or how bad) it might be, but if you aren't interested in seeing Alison Brie in a leotard then you are a literal faggot. So let's read this.
deleted the last thread because your faggots' constant captain marvel spam threads made me mix up Alison Brie with Brie Larsen, and if I left that typo in the OP it would have derailed the thread
lol. when they first made the casting announcement for captain marvel i mistakenly thought it was alison brie and was psyched. imagine how much better that would be..
Angel Young
Did you read it and you're trying to warn us, or what?
What a load of nothing. That was just 20 pages of character introductions for a cast of bland, cookie cutter girls. The only one who left any impression on me was the old dude, and that's only because he's the only guy in the cast.
Adrian Hall
The only thing "real life" about the show GLOW is that there used to be a wrestling federation called GLOW. They didn't even use the same wrestlers. It's basically a totally original show that's "inspired by" the real wrestling fed.
David Anderson
This comic is fine and there's nothing wrong with it.
Easton Stewart
Thanks, dude. Not bad for a first issue, and the TV series is surprisingly good so I'll keep my eyes out for this.
Carter Nguyen
this has to be the worst dialog ever
Jeremiah Thompson
The """"humor"""" is some of the cringiest shit ever.
Aaron Brown
fuck this is awful
Michael Lewis
The fact that someone was paid money to write that line is a literal crime and the """"""""""""""""people"""""""""""""""" responsible for it should be locked up.
Jace Reed
Why is this so different from the show? Why not even TRY to imitate the writing style of the show?
Colton Myers
AKA, "FUCK YOU BUY NETFLIX."
Landon Adams
I like the show but man this comic isn’t as good.
Alexander Allen
Looks like there's none compared to the Netfliz show, disappointing
Brayden Foster
Aside from the single use of the word "shit" it's clearly meant to be in the style of a kid's comic, which is absolutely baffling given that it's based on a show for adults with nudity and sex scenes.
Alexander Watson
What?
Brandon James
Thanks OP, it was fine.
Brayden Lewis
Rebecca Nalty, same colourist.
At least this comic is straightforward with that what it wants to sell...at least it doesn't trick you into thinking you're reading Nancy Drew but really you're just reading someone's annoying rant about how that one artist is talented (despite even hipsters never heard of her) yet understated because "THE LABELS HATE WOMEN ROCKERS".
Jose Smith
that was boring, it didn't have wrestling, the characters were lame and they tried to focus in a lot of them making their introduction incomplete and uninteresting. Anyway, thanks for the storytime, user.
Easton Perez
So when is this supposed to take place? During season 2, or after?
Luis Gonzalez
I doubt the writer even has a plan for when it takes place. They clearly put zero effort into the writing.
Noah Bennett
It seems like it. They reference the British chick's illegal immigrant status, but don't bring up the rushed marriage at all.
Jeremiah Gomez
Black magic has a whole vodoo hypno angle stay tuned
Alexander Rogers
What's with those weird bars on your post?
Nathaniel Diaz
Do they address the hazing which is borderline rape that's very common in wrestling locker rooms?
Blake Long
So is this based on the wrestling show from the 80's or the netflix show about the wrestling show from the 80's? also have a bump OP.
Nicholas Young
NM i finally spotted recognizable people, it's based on the netflix show. The artist is fucking terrible though, as only 2 of the chracters are recognizable as the actors/actress they're based on.
Adrian King
The irl wrestling show GLOW was garbage, but the Netflix serie is pretty good (mostly the first season)
Kayden Campbell
This whole thing is just bizarre. I know it’s the typical tumblr “diverse cast of cutesy women who are all generically drawn and happy with themselves”, but it’s so tone deaf when applied to this show. All the stuff that made it interesting- protag’s attempts to repent for betraying her friend, the coke addiction, the washed up director, their struggle to get the show off the ground- it feels so stripped of it’s identity. It just kind of becomes Hi Fi Fight Club/Heavy Vinyl or whatever.
Jason Nelson
I watched the show and it was alright, didn't really spot the SJW, but I hope they wont make Bash gay, it's a bit too obvious.
Blake Morgan
Thanks, OP. I didn’t even know they were making this into a comic book
