I could have sworn that at one point the "Narm" (something in a work of fiction that tries to be scary/sad/serious but due to poor presentation, comes off as too ridiculous to take seriously) page had a section where they had poorly written nightmare fuel entries but sadly it ended up being taken down. I guess the site can't even have a laugh at itself.

Be aware, "nightmare fuel" is meant to be things that would unintentionally scare children. A six-year-old would be frightened of things of that an adult wouldn't.

Then why are there Nightmare Fuel pages for shows and movies that children shouldn't even be allowed to see?

Wasn't that the old definition? Nightmare Fuel was stuff that unintentionally scared little kids, while High Octane Nightmare Fuel was deliberately scary stuff that managed to frighten even grown-ups. But at some point their articles got merged together.

My favorite instances of "Harsher in Hindsight" had to be from the YMMV page of The Walking Dead.
