Mayura seems to be the next best thing as it lets them cause the threat of the episode through their emotional vulnerability without exposing them. Though you'd think their sentimonsters being evil versions of LB and CN might cause some to wonder.

They basically wrote themselves into a corner where even if it's possible for them to get akumatized they can't, at least not in a standard episode because that would completely change the story.

We can just hope whoever takes over after Hawkmoth is written in a way that gives them freedom to play around with stuff like that.

If Mayura's power works the same as Hawk Moth's Akuma, the moment she gets a feather into Marinette or Adrien and creates a Sentimonster of their superhero selves out of them, it gives away their true identities to her.

I think it's more likely that she doesn't actually need to latch onto emotions to create Sentimonsters (though it helps) and can just create whatever constructs she wants. This would ultimately give the writers more freedom as they won't have to rely on forcing an emotional crisis into each episode.

It would be interesting if Nathalie didn't actually know the full scope of Gabriel's plans, if she only knew about the "reviving Emelie" part.

Somehow "taking over the world" doesn't seem like something Nathalie would aid and abet.

Unlike Hawkmoth the emotional connection is temporary and she has no actual control over her target, nor does she actually need them to agree with her. Instead she switches to controlling the monster completely while the target is free to do whatever.

So while it might raise some eyebrows that their sentimonsters are copies of LB and CN they could in theory deflect this somehow like Marinette making it seem like Ladybug is a big part of her being pissed because Lila got her hooks into everyone via claiming to be friends with her.

They were recording Chameleon only two weeks or so before it aired, and they record several episodes at once.

If they were working on Animaestro in December they could very well have recorded the entire season by now.

This show follows a monster of the week format of self contained episodes like Sailor Moon and even western shit like X-Files. If you're used to modern serialized TV I can see why people might find this repetitive, but it adds to its charm because I thought this cozy type of TV died with Star Trek.

Season 3 has been amazing so far because they have been playing with your expectations and using dramatic irony in nearly every episode. This show is Astrucs baby. Insecurity isn't really presented as a flaw so much as just a character trait though. I would argue that her flaws are more centered around her jealousy, arrogance, and chronic lying. All three of these flaws have caused her to create her own supervillains numerous times throughout the show and the last one especially is what makes Lilla such a good antagonist/foil for her.

Her lying is only because of needing to cover for Ladybug, so that's less a character flaw and more an unfortunate circumstance. If she didn't have to cover for her identity she wouldn't be doing it regularly.

The jealousy is true but it's only the last few episodes that started showing it as a geniune issue that was causing her problems. In season 1-2 it was entirely played for laughs with no consequences.
