To preface, I loved Batman ROTJ.

But the thing that always bothered me about the movie, is that when Tim goes missing, Barbara says she and Bruce turn over every stone and go after every lead to find Tim for two weeks. In that time, no one thinks to enlist Dick Grayson to help them in this dire moment?

Logically, Bruce would have done anything to help Tim, and a third pair of eyes and knowledge of the city would be worth swallowing his pride in admitting he endangered another Robin.

Dick would have done it because despite any bad blood between he and Bruce, he cared about Tim and would do anything to help him. In fact, he would probably be more pissed if he found out Barbara and Bruce didn't let him know what's going on.

And then they find out this is Joker's doing, and STILL don't call him, deciding instead to simply face off with Joker and Harley as a duo.

TLDR; why didn't anybody call Dick?

Batbaby

it's just a cartoon

I think at this point in time Dick went full on segregation and cut all communications with anything Gotham. You could also see it as them not wanting Dick to have to leave the city he's protecting unguarded, which is a good reason when you think about the other supers that are already established by now in the DCAU such as Superman and Flash.

Do you know where you are?

Dick wasn't talking to them because Babs got pregnant with Bruce's kid

Yeah, but what do you think Dick Grayson's response to "Hey Dick, Tim got a little traumatized, tortured, genetically altered and ALMOST died, but hey, me and Barb took care of it. Hope your city's treating you right! Later gator!"

I think he'd be pretty pissed, and take it as Bruce trying to cover up the fact he fucked up a child in his moral crusade.

yes, and it's still just a cartoon.

if you want a newfag filter answer, it's because Timm has a boner for Bruce and Babs and wants to keep Dick away from Barbara.

I'll bet he whacks it to incest porn.

Bruce was ashamed of himself and didn't wanted to face Dick.

Babs knew that her trying was a waste of time.

Who doesn't?

DCAU Batman is a complete failure. Of course Dick would be livid that another fucking Robin got fucked by Bruce's autistic mision.

>DCAU Batman is a complete failure.

I feel like this is the heart of it all. DCAU Batman is basically a tragic figure. He fucks over Dick. He fucks over Tim. He fucks over Barbara and Selina after BOTH of them have been willing to love him. He fucks over Alfred by never becoming happy and settled down. Bruce ends up sad and depressed, and it's only Terry coming into his life that winds up saving his soul.

There's got to be a proper term for the sort of tragedy that DCAU Bruce embodies. He saves countless lives. He genuinely makes the world better for untold millions of people, maybe even billions. But he actively ruins the lives of the people closest to him. The nearer you are to Batman in the DCAU, the more your life is destroyed.

It goes beyond that. He has so many gifts the others don't have. He has his money. He has his company. He has his brilliant mind. He has his physical prowess. He even has legitimate charisma and sex appeal (as Bruce) and despite all these resources, and all these talents, he still manages to make the people around him miserable, INCLUDING the Justice League.

He fucks over his entire family. Deep down, a part of Bruce knew he did not deserve to be happy.

thankless hero?

Dick was the only who saw him for the failure he was.

Not Superman. His shitty life as Starro's puppet was entirely his own fault.

?

Oh, fuck, it's THIS:

It's this dumb speech at the end of TDK. It doesn't really describe NolanBats, but it does describe DCAU Bruce. He really is the hero we deserve, but don't need. He'll destroy everyone he loves, but he'll save the day, because that's what we need.

Why didn't he call Clark?

yeah it does describe him pretty well

Batman Return of the Jedi?

Because he legitimately would have killed whoever took Tim. ESPECIALLY if it was the Joker. And Tim needed to be the one to kill him.

>INCLUDING the Justice League.

que?

Damn, you are an idiot.
