If you actually cast kids that could be a problem because a lot of child actors are terrible.

I could imagine a show that is like a more kid friendly version of flash.
Lots of reused locations.
Young guy hits a watch and a poorly animated CG alien is overlayed on screen.
Hits bad guys who are just thugs with colorful laser rifles and they fly back on pulleys.
Show is still designed to sell toys.
23 minute timeslot because it isn't doesn't have all the boring shot-reverse-shot dialog padding.

first movie: origin, just him capturing ghosts, rumors about a half-ghost kid circulate around the ghost zone which lead to Skulker hunting danny due his "rare" species.

second movie: Danny is well know both on earth and in the Ghost Zone. We are introduced Vlad. He was in love with Danny's mother but not anymore unlike the show. Tries to make Danny his apprentice.

third movie: the ultimate enemy movie except that danny family isn't killed by that accident but by all ghosts that danny captured in revenge.
