Damn that stupid cn intern revealing the otgw second season again! When will he get fired?

>implying current CN regime has any interest in tainting their family friendly image with anything with a hint of darkness or that targets people over the age of 8
oh you

PLEASE BE REEEAAAAL

Attached: unnamed.jpg (288x288, 19K)

I want to believe that Pat's pulling some 4D chess and leaking intentionally fake looking leaks that all turn out to be real stills from the 2nd season. It'll be better than what Hirsch pulled off because it'll actually lead to something the fans want.

It's a far order but I want to fucking believe dammit

I saw some thread about the second season's release date on here. Probably fake, but if Pat is playing 4D chess, that would be fucking incredible. I would die from happiness.

Attached: B7FbEc1IEAAJOXG.jpg (247x247, 10K)

Interesting, I'm listening this while the thread popped out
youtube.com/watch?v=aOdbc9sQFyg

must mean something...

Attached: cn_releaseotgw_s2.jpg (1000x600, 349K)

I want it to be real so bad, but I doubt it is

I want it be really, I really really, but come on, Op.

What if op is actually Pat and we were talking to pat all along?

Are you Pat???

The first season wrapped up fine, they better not fucking milk it

Pat, please make season 2. Stop cucking us with these mystery threads.

Nah, I have been talking with Pat and he has been talking with me using a game of charades, and that Op doesn't sound like McHale.

I can't believe it. More proooooff.

Attached: tumblr_inline_owcub8v1jC1rra4q5_540.png (516x492, 122K)

How can I get in contact with Pat McHale. Tell me your secret.

youtube.com/watch?v=KFaADj7Orso

patrick we know you're there just tell use if there's gonna be season 2, yes or no.

Guys if you are still here you need to listen to me, it's really important and it's really hard to believe (I don't believe it myself but it's true) and it's hard to explain. Look I have been following the hints given by McHale lately and I can say the following thing about it.

He wants to make (or he already did it) about a matrimony and the wife is a bird, but who is the husband?... The question was given by McHale for first time in the comic "Distillatoria" and show us a board with the question Bird + ? the answer is an animal and I will show you what animal is in the next post.

Attached: 1543677560367.jpg (718x1077, 333K)

You need to understand his hints, you need to understand how he thinks, the things that he likes and you need to understand his secret code. He likes when people analyze his hints because he is playing a game with his fandom but no one plays with him because they are hard to understand. Look for his inspiration that worked with me a few years ago.

It sounds crazy and I know it but it's completely true, I even talked with him here in Yea Forums. (Geez stupid McHale makes me sound like I'm crazy because he can't say nothing directly)

Over The Garden Wall Part 2: Return To The Unknown confirmed?

Attached: large.jpg (311x311, 21K)

There are only one animal that isn't a bird.

Attached: over-the-garden-wall-comic-italiano-3-1-638.jpg (638x903, 183K)

is*

You sound crazy, alright

Well... If OP were really McHale then he would like that you guys notice the big sign "PROPERTY OF CN" instead of the rest of the image so we could understand that he couldn't make a sequel of his story because the characters are property of the network instead of his. But I doubt that OP is McHale. What I can tell you is that in fact he wanted to make a sequel and he probably was unable to do so.

What happen when we mate a bear with bird anons? McHale found the answer and I will post it in the next but let's play the game let's try to imagine it for a moment, ok?

The frog?

Geez

Attached: Oh geez.png (600x700, 174K)

KEK. I didn't notice the frog, anyway, here is the answer. There is a pun hidden in this picture that McHale posted on his twitter (because this crazy dude really loves the puns, he thinks that they are the supreme form of comedy) , can you guys see it?

Attached: DwA695ZWkAEDarQ.jpg (1200x891, 151K)

Poor McHale. I wish he weren't mute so he could tell us what he really means. Maybe it's a cry for help cause CN stole all of his work and is keeping him hostage at the studio.

We all knew Pat had dad humor. You still sound crazy though.

>Poor McHale. I wish he weren't mute so he could tell us what he really means. Maybe it's a cry for help cause CN stole all of his work and is keeping him hostage at the studio.

What I noticed when I was communicating with him is that just like all the other writers he can't talk directly with people about CN or his hints (maybe because they could be considered spoilers) because he can put himself in problems and CN is REALLY hard with their authors when they imply that something wasn't as the writers wanted.

I wonder how many creators actually visit Yea Forums. I mean, we did see Hannah Daigle on here just the other day, but of course she's more of an internet animator.

McHale posted this song on his twitter youtube.com/watch?v=uREGk0fT0GQ

The little Wooly Bear doesn't become a butterfly when he grows up but a Moth instead, that's why he chose this animal because it is an insect and it has fur just like a "baby bear" with wings, and it's born in the Autumn. (he wants to represent the different phases of Divine Comedy with the seasons: Autumn/The inferno, Winter/Purgatory, Spring and Summer/The Heaven)

Attached: Boys Will Be Bugs.jpg (1280x720, 50K)

Well, we know that Ian comes occasionally to this board and he talks with other anons. And at least once Zuke came directly here to talk about SU.

Ok, but what does that have to do with Over The Garden Wall?

>Not Wirt/Sara

Attached: 1443467066725.jpg (249x230, 19K)

Are you McHale?

Attached: lol.png (514x486, 515K)

What McHale pretends to say with these messages is "I'M A MADMAN and I wanted (or I want) give to Beatrice and Wirt a kid". Use your imagination and you can even see its mother inside of it (the animal looks like an owl)

Attached: Giant-Comet-Moth.jpg (900x1200, 82K)

If you read Distillatoria, you'd know Wirt and Sara was never meant to happen, it was always supposed to be Wirt and Beatrice. McHale doesn't like Sara for some reason.

No, no I'm just learn to talk his same language because I studied the same things than him and his style. for example in this board we have a Turtle with a question. (There are at least 4 spoilers on this board)

He gave us the answer indirectly but to understand it you need to apply the rule of The Disguise that McHale loves to MUCH

Attached: 1543677625144.jpg (727x1099, 296K)

What the fuck is going on in this thread

Anyways, I want to believe

Attached: nez1p2vJCR1rxubp9o1.png (898x1305, 1.65M)

I found this while searching around for any clues that OP may be telling the truth, and I came upon this character sheet. Notice the 15' on the bottom where the signature is. OTGW came out in 2014, so this was made after the release of the original series. Although, it could just be fan art.

Attached: 2015_otgw_turnaround_character_v2.png (1600x1112, 393K)

The lines aren't the same as the ones in the show.

I don't know, but I do know one of these dudes might be McHale. I think it's the crazy one who is memeing.

In fact McHale sees Sara as an obstacle in Wirt and Beatrice's relationship, that's why she is represented by a plant which is antagonistic to Wirt and Beatrice's animals and this idea will be used in his new project, Sara's equivalent in his new project is going to be portrayed as a villain.

[Pic related is a pun, she is a homewrocker]

Attached: 1543676189610.jpg (977x680, 337K)

The answer is this

Attached: DUPzPFFVMAAoMqT.jpg (1200x1200, 96K)

lmao what is his issue?

Attached: DUPzNjYUQAAnyQn.jpg (1200x1200, 111K)

What the actual fuck, it all makes sense now.

a caterpillar?

>shipping Wirt with that harlot

Attached: 2018-12-01 16.00.00.jpg (284x284, 58K)

Well that could be cause it's just a character sheet.

Beatrice is a lil' jealous.

Attached: 1548566133515.png (800x655, 357K)

The idea is that the little caterpillar is in fact a baby bear, a child of Wirt who is represented with a Bear (a DogBear in fact), it's a form to say that the kid is just like its father but at the same time it's like a mix between its father and its mother, that's why his animal is flies through the skies like a bird. It's basically... huh... a little bear flying like a bird.

Attached: CL-poDtUsAEwsKF.jpg (768x1024, 114K)

good point

I KNOW, it almost made me jump of chair when I noticed the whole thing that this madman wants to do, or he pretended to do. Curiously the origin of the name Turtle can mean "Evil" or "Devil?" I don't remember correctly at this point, and McHale knows it.

Who will be the first to make Wirt squirt?

Probably Lorna because she's reaching her hand down to Wirt's dick.

There is a rumor who says that his problem with Sara is that McHale didn't pretend to include her in his story but he was forced to include a dark skinned female character by the network because that was like a rule inside the network to make the stories more appealing to these new times. [I don't have the picture of Gwen (Ben 10 reboot) and her dark skinned boy but it could have been a good example] This character often is the romantic interest of a protagonist or a main character so the rumors make sense and according to these McHale got angry because that and he included her but he painted her face with white paint.

The other chance is that McHale always thought of Sara as this, a person who is apparently a good person but in fact she is a bad person. "When you have a high school crush you don't really love that person for who it really is." He commented it in an interview.

"Sara, you never took off your costume"

Attached: 1543673414996.jpg (727x1088, 216K)

Don't do it Wirt

According to McHale, it will be Beatrice and Wirt probably will never have another woman in his life. This guy is SO MUCH a hardcore shipper of these two that the Moon is supposed to be related to their relationship.

I asked myself for a while what the moons was supposed to represent for OTGW, and during the cartoon and comics (written by him) the half moon is ALWAYS there, it never changes. The reason is explained in this video that he posted, it's related to the state of a relationship if they are together or not, a half-moon represents to McHale a half-orange. Basically Wirt's other half is in the other side.

Attached: Half-Moon.jpg (854x350, 13K)

McHale is based.

Attached: 1548576426175.jpg (710x1087, 345K)

Distillatoria is NOT CANON. McHale wasn't involved with it at all.

His next story (maybe it's a sequel... maybe not, but he explained recently that he keeps thinking in sequels for his stories even if they don't need them) is about a Full Moon. They are reunited and together they are complete.

Attached: Full Moon.jpg (854x350, 12K)

Really? That's a little bit disappointing. Hopefully the second season is real, because I want more from him.

Look user, there are many hints that imply that McHale worked in the creation of Distillatoria, in fact the Plant related to Sara appears in the Artbook about OTGW, it talks about many details of production and ideas previous to the show, there is a certain where we can see the oldest concept of designs for Wirt and in that page we can see Wirt falling inside a plant very similar to pic related.

So or McHale wrote part of this (the highest probability since the board at the end of the comics contain spoilers of McHale's new work and other hints) or he has a very close and I mean REALLY close communication with the author, it should be so close that the "real author" knows about McHale's perspective about Sara and Wirt's relationship as a lie. So the story keeps transmitting the ideas of the original author.

Attached: 1543677822609.jpg (728x1081, 179K)

>looks faker than my kids and my sexual life

FTFY

And we know that the board is authentically written by McHale himself because it appears in the same video that he posted in his twitter.

Compare:

Attached: The evil turtle.jpg (854x350, 22K)

I don't know why they are so perfect.

Attached: nlfupejTua1sc7v7fo1_500.jpg (500x537, 121K)

Anons have you ever share a room with a bird?

It's the writing. They don't do anything inherently romantic or sexual, but it just feels like they're perfect for each other. The writing is implying that the two are supposed to be a couple, even when one was a bird for 99% of the series. Just the right around of "love/hate" and "we care for each other", for the chemistry to work. You can tell they had some talented writers working on the show.

Attached: 1544636214538.jpg (1000x1125, 553K)

I just noticed that Lorna has two right hands in that picture

No, but if it's a talking bird who once was a cute human girl, then I would like to.

Super fake

>Wirt is looking at Beatrice's chest

Attached: 34535457.png (387x524, 53K)

He isn't so innocent as he looks user, he is subtly trying to seduce her.

Attached: 1543677042421.jpg (708x1072, 321K)

Imagine embarrassing a bird like that. Sweet.

I bet Wirt actually does have an above-average dick but he won't even realize that until he's 22.

>The writing is implying that the two are supposed to be a couple, even when one was a bird for 99% of the series

When it comes to McHale or you fall in love with the bird or your love doesn't worth a fuck.

[Pic related is an episode of AT written by him]

>Hey, do you want to dance?

>Err... Huh... I have a girlfriend (He turns around and he watches a bird)

>The bird makes a sound and it has a ring in her neck.

Attached: I have a girlfriend.jpg (1280x720, 65K)

Implied that he doesn't know it.

Attached: 1548567614683.png (312x371, 123K)

implying*

>Ayo, lemme perch on that dick

>ooga booga where da white boys at?

Beatrice ain't THAT kind of bird.

Patrick McHale clearly intended Beatrice to be a sex symbol

Forgot image

Yeah Beatrice is a lady, Wirt is the evildoer.

Is that real?

>With his girlfriend, Harlot.

Attached: 1543675978433.jpg (692x1071, 285K)

Who knows anymore honestly.

I think that this is the answer

>>implying current CN regime has any interest in tainting their family friendly image with anything with a hint of darkness or that targets people over the age of 8
Not only was OTGW for kids but it wasn't even that long ago. They're obviously not making more of it, and there's no reason to since it was a complete story but please refrain from pretending that it's "mature" or that CN has somehow gotten worse when We Bare Bears and SU were greenlit before this series even aired

Can you post the link to the other thread? I want to check it out.

>They're obviously not making more of it, and there's no reason to since it was a complete story

"You know just right after finish my new book "Bags" I began to think about ideas for a sequel of "Bags"... I knew that the story didn't need a sequel because it's a complete story but... I just wanted to make it because it was very funny." -Patrick McHale (podcast)

McHale is the kind of person who simply wants to continue his stories because he enjoys to write his characters, specially these characters related to OTGW, so if he wants to continue OTGW he could simply do it at least in his mind. That's the real meaning behind the song sung by the frogs in Distillatoria.

It's basically expressing a feeling of the author and it's "I would like to write them again someday".

Attached: 1543673027410.jpg (722x1063, 300K)

Attached: 1543673089515.jpg (711x1068, 321K)

You'll be surprised how quick things change in a few years. Remember YouTube in 2014? It was like a different site.

>youtube in 2014 was a completely different site
It wasn't, and this is a false comparison`

Not him but what about this one:

what are you even on about

Does it sound logical to you?

McHale is ruining us, isn't he?

>Just the right around of "love/hate" and "we care for each other", for the chemistry to work.

It most to be a complicate formula because I have read many fanfics and it seems like they can't do this part right, sometimes Beatrice is simply a bitch with Wirt and sometimes Wirt is simply too much a faggot

Attached: 1439879332645.jpg (640x640, 102K)

YES PLEASE

Needs an gallows knot edit

Can I pat Beatrice?

Who do you want to strangle?

Guys are you ready for REALLY hardcore porn video (it has a bird). This one was created by McHale, but be careful it can be really intense.

youtube.com/watch?v=bTWj7NpUENI

Watch it fast because I will be banned soon.

If you are Wirt maybe but she despises it coming from other people (Sara)

Attached: 1543670532915.jpg (720x1069, 298K)

since McHale didn't story board that episode I don't think he was responsible for a small moment like that

The unkown is only one jump away

Attached: tenor.png (640x354, 273K)

The whole episode is completely his thing, I don't know if he story boarded it or if he was just the writer behind it, but it has his style everywhere, it was made by him. When it comes to him the real love of our protagonist is portrayed as a bird (most likely because he write them with a dynamic similar to a married couple and birds are an example of marriage loyalty) and he considers dancing with your woman as an intimate activity between a pair. (you aren't supposed to do it with another person of the opposite gender and that's why the bird poop in Finn).

Attached: Dancing with your woman is a serious thing.jpg (1280x720, 31K)

McHale's idea definitely

He will jump to the ocean for his father and his brother but he will burn himself for her (It's gonna to happen in a new comic).

Seriously I prefer to keep with the romantic/idyllic point of view of the story, a hero jumping to the ocean instead of simply commiting suicide.

Why has the obsessiveness of Wirt/Beatrice shippers suddenly gone up in the past few months?

second season is coming.

Friend zone.

So it's a Cartoon Network psyops?

Says who?

Wirt would get friendzoned.

What the fuck is even going on in this thread?

Attached: tumblr_npzavky0Tf1r33xxqo4_1280.jpg (840x1280, 232K)

they're on to us.

KEK he chose her. (Look at the sword)

What do you mean?

There’s not fucking way that’s not a murderape demon trying to seduce him.

Luck for him, he has an angel protecting him

Can someone edit the last panel to say "Imma fuck yo white boy, aight?"

What an evil nigga

McHale wants that you guys decipher the secret meaning of this song, now please make your homework.

youtube.com/watch?v=WmgTkkK-o_Y

I made the edit more interesting.

Nooooo

Can you make her even hotter user?

How can Sara even compete?

Anyone got a link to where I can read the comic?

I thought Wirt was the animal kid from Summer Camp Islands from the thumbnail

Why would he still be wearing his halloween costume?

Keep dreaming - bringing this show back just for some stupid love triangle BS would just ruin it harder than AT & RS pretty much were for people.

This. Wanting is better than having

MY DIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCCCK

Cause he's retarded.

OP has made me want to create a part 2 regardless of whether or not it's actually coming. Quick Yea Forums, let's be like Vivzie and just straight up make Season 2 ourselves. Now who here can animate?

Attached: over_the_garden_wall_beatrice_by_moonvalkyriesoul-d8cd4zm-760.jpg (576x576, 128K)

I think we should actually start with something more feasible, like actually figuring out what the plot to a second season would be

Nah, that's for pussies. How about we make a plot as we go along and base it around merchandise, then CN will buy it from us before we even create a single frame of animation.

It should have more about Wirt and Greg's story in the real world. Maybe talk about their families or school life. They intentionally go to the Unknown by visiting the lake place (you'd have to figure out how that one would work). Then they go on more adventures with human Beatrice, and there'd be another bad guy. And then Wirt and Beatrice make out in that pic that OP posted.

Dam this is harder than i though.

Because it's considered perfectly normal clothes in The Unknown, in fact his coat could be considered slightly luxurious or elegant. Our friend Pinocchio used a cape similar to his when he was flirting with his rich ex-girlfriend.

Attached: Chad Pinocchio.jpg (640x480, 29K)

Whoa I forgot this exists

I don't if it is stupid but McHale would want continue it just to explode the romantic triangle and to include a kid of Wirt and Beatrice and I think that he could have made a great story of it with new developments and conflicts for our heroes.

IM HYPED NOW THANKS

Kek, me too but I studied it a few months ago to understand McHale's new work. It's weird how in this version Pinocchio has at least 7 girls including his endgame which is weird considering that people usually considers him a freak, sometimes I think that he is a little obsessed with girls since a bunch of episodes are about him flirting.

Attached: Pinocchio doing it again.jpg (640x480, 27K)

Is Pinocchio, Wirt from a different life? Please tell me he's voiced by Elijah Wood and has a younger brother who is funny and the cricket is a girl with a cute voice who happens to be a human who is cursed to be a cricket.

>Is Pinocchio, Wirt from a different life?

Hehehe... *serious tone* in fact this is very likely. His endgame and real love is a bird, the little bird was a character so popular that she is used when they want to include a romantic element to the story. There is a certain movie, a very weird movie where the writer made a fusion between the bird and the cricket creating a female cricket. But in his debut this little bird took Cricket's role as Pinocchio's conscience, but they have a different relationship than Cricket, they are like a married couple.

[This is a real dialogue]

Pinocchio: Ugh why do I need to serve to that thieves? (while he is cooking)
Bird: They are your guests so you nee-
Pinocchio: What are you doing here you should be at home sleeping (they live alone for a time)
Bird: How am I supposed to sleep when I don't know how you are doing at work. Now you need to-
Pinocchio: Yeah I understand don't make a scene here.

They sleep together too.

Attached: Pinnochio.jpg (704x396, 37K)

Yes! I can't wait. Thank you, Mr. McHale.

No problem my friend, but I'm not McHale even when I know the basic story of his movie (because I studied it), I swear, my friend I'm not McHale.

Attached: Pinocchio and his weird girlfriend.jpg (680x383, 53K)

What is going on in this thread. The topic has changed like 8 times.

Attached: overthegardenwall-preview.jpg (580x405, 37K)

I decided to make a sequel of this story a few months ago and it wasn't so easy as I thought because the story needs to have the same spirit than the original author. It wasn't so easy as I thought, in order to do so I studied many books and ideas.

To give you an idea why it's much more complicate than a fanfic you need to combine the next elements:

Tale like stories
Christmas and Winter
Pinocchio
Over The Garden Wall
Aesop's fables
Disguises
Divine Comedy, The Purgatory Book

I put a lot of effort and I have a script, and now I'm looking for someone to draw a few fanarts. But I'm sure that you guys will like the plot.

Proof it! (we can consider it a general OTGW thread)

Link the script, my dude.

I figured the best starting point would be to examine the characters and change up the dynamics.

First off: Drop Greg. His arc with Wirt is complete, there's no sense retreading it.

I would pair Wirt with either Sara, or his stepdad. I lean towards the stepdad because it's a completely different dynamic, wherein he tries to keep Wirt safe and earn his respect while Wirt is cast as the seasoned veteran who knows what's going on.

I would set it in a different part of the Unknown during a different time. The first series took place in a vaguely New Englandish region during the winter? Set it in the west during the summer, which brings with it a whole new host of possibilities, cultures, environments, and dangers to draw from. But of course bring back some characters from the first series, natch.

Basically, try to strike a balance between the tone and themes that people loved of OTGW without just rehashing it.

I don't want to upload it right now... It needs so modifications... I prefer give you the preview.

Wirt has 18 years (three years timeskip) and he is leaving for Collage, he is very worried because he is going to leave home and he is considered an adult now yet he doesn't know what kind of adult he wants to be but he must to leave after Christmas parties.

He decides to travel through the town and after receive a pamphlet of a bunch of protestant who are trying to save the old Railroad (it's considered historic by the people because it has more than 100years) he goes to the cemetery and while he is sitting in the Wall he watches a really old train advancing through the railroad.

The train stops in front of him, and Wirt is surprised when he notices that it's driven by a big Pigeon (who needs to use his beak to drive it and it's not easy) the Pigeon asks him if he knows about a boy called Wirt.

After hear his answer Pigeon says that he has been trying to deliver him a bunch of cards for almost ten years "This old machine can travel really fast but it's still a train and it needs to move through train tracks and there aren't many in this place, once a pair of idiots tried to stop my train using his bodies but I didn't let them intimidate me" (he is talking about Wirt and Greg). Wirt took the letter and he discovers that his father has been trying to talk to him for almost ten years from The Unknown and now he is in the forest because he heard some rumors about him. Pigeon says that he can take him there if he wants to, but tomorrow will be his last visit for a while so Wirt needs to decide.

After a bunch of events Wirt decides to go to the unknown to see his father (maybe then he will decide what kind of man he wants to be), Wirt, Greg and Jason pack some things, get on the train and... Towards the Unknown.

Yeah, I think dropping Greg might be a good way to go, especially since the voice actor for Greg has probably already gone through puberty at this point. But they'd need to fill in the comedic relief role otherwise it might be too dark for younger audiences.

I figure making the stepdad a bit of a dork would help with that.

Plus, it would further push the role reversal, where for once WIRT is the one that seems relatively cool.

Was is the stepdad or Wirt's actual dad who gave him the cassette player? I always imagined his parents being divorced.

That could work though, but it would also break the "no adults" thing going on in the real world, which was an interesting dynamic.

During their adventure they will meet:

A little green Snake whose size change very drastically (Greg confuses her with a green noodle) while the story advances and she claims to be more than just a snake. Her name is Matilda and she escaped from Endiccot's Mansion. She is trying to convince Wirt of marry her and she claims that she is an old friend of his father.

An old and damaged theater where the actors claim to be Wirt's brothers, but they aren't exactly normal.

A young girl who walks with a crutch who is trying to find her old cat.

Beatrice whose brother is beginning to feel jealousy of Wirt after see what a good relationship he has with their father.

A town with people whom never stop of working for some reason

A rich man who never stop of watch his clock.

A monstrous fisherman who fishes people to eat the kindness of their hearts (he has much success since the beast died).

And a living doll who is desperate to take Wirt's place by taken his heart, skin and meat.

Well... what do you think guys?

I don't think there should be any adults (from Wirt's world at least) in the story. Maybe Jason Funderberker should be the new comic relief. Like, Funderberker somehow travels into the Unknown with Wirt, and Greg stays in the normal world.

The thing is, what issues does Wirt really have with Funderberker? He was something Wirt projected his insecurities onto, and by the end of the first series he's over it.

I feel like using an adult could be thematically appropriate if it takes place a couple years in the future where Wirt is more squarely a teen, and he's onto the part of his development where he's gaining a more nuanced view of adults around him.

Wouldn't be interesting. Funderburker has his shit together and could conquer any challenge with ease.

>First off: Drop Greg. His arc with Wirt is complete, there's no sense retreading it.

You know that's very curious but you are right about it and even McHale knew it, that's why for the sequel he decided to drop Greg too but he looked for a way to replace him. His solution was SO drastic that he surpassed many fanfics when it comes to "madman writing". He replaced Greg's role with a daughter of Wirt and Beatrice.

>I would pair Wirt with either Sara, or his stepdad.

Bad idea, they tried to pair Wirt with Sara in Dreamland and they don't work well together at least like a dynamic. And McHale considers Wirt's stepfather as something that shouldn't have happen (something unnatural), and by writing this kind of story you are forcing him to replace his father with this man something completely unacceptable from the point of view of McHale's line of thought.

>Set it in the west during the summer

We can't change the setting, it's suppose to be about tales.

OP is McHale and his pic looks like the summer to me.

> He replaced Greg's role with a daughter of Wirt and Beatrice.
But how? Does that mean they'd have to age up the two?

Who are you and why do you claim to be an authority on what McHale thinks?

I'm not saying the sequel has to one hundred percent focus on the step dad, no other way, but calling him an unnatural mistake feels like a weird ass take. Especially since Greg's role as a stepbrother plays so heavily into Wirt's general ambivalence towards him at the beginning.

Ok, but which one of you is actually McHale?

I'm McHale!

No, I'm McHale!

No I'm Patrick.

Get it? Get it? Cause Patrick from SpongeBob, but also McHale's first name is also Patrick??

and she was a lover to me

Attached: Pinocchio and birdie.jpg (640x480, 22K)

Yeah, they need to grow up and McHale is a madman that's why he is disposed to do it. To be honest I'm surprise that someone decided to modify so much the dynamic of the characters for a sequel (at least he thought about it like a sequel). Beatrice and Wirt grew up, they got married, they have a daughter who inherited most of their flaws but some of their talents too.

The matrimony has certain issues caused by their flaws and certain circumstances. And that's the conflict of this story. But McHale knows that the public prefer to watch a juvenile romance so... by certain method or circunstances, (I don't want to talk much about it) they got young again... much more younger... they are kids. Now you have a new trio of main characters.

To be honest I'm surprise about his skill, he is a clever madman.

Did Yea Forums ever agree on which year OtgW takes place? It seems to me evidence best supports it being 1984. There was 1st quarter moon on Halloween night that year. Also Wirt's use of a tape recorder, the design of the cars outside. And that house there is the best supporting evidence, with all its 70s as fuck décor.

I will not claim that I'm the only one able to understand this author but as I said I have studied his style, his inspirations and I have observed his writing and other details of it and right now I understand his tastes and I have played his charade game and received an answer of him.

Even when Wirt must to take care of his little brother (who at the same time acts like a son for Wirt and Beatrice at least when it comes to the writing of the dynamic of the group) the idea of his mother marrying with another man after his father's death isn't considered a good thing by the story and author. (Because McHale likes the families)

Greg isn't a scary kid, he is practically never scare of anything but even he is apparently conscious on how unnatural is the relationship of his parents. [That's the pun of this page, his father wearing a disguise of gorilla is so natural as his father loving his mother (it isn't natural)]

At the same time McHale tries to deepen in the relationship between Wirt and his father (For Sara) by explaining how close they used to be and how similar they are. Wirt miss him even now and he will never accept Greg's father as his own father.

Wirt is supposed to be something that was left by a relationship with a bad end and now his mother has a new family with another man and another son. That's why McHale wanted to return Greg to home with his family but keep Wirt in the unknown

Attached: 1543671935337.jpg (720x1088, 236K)

KEK now I get it.

Well I said 70's but everyone else said 90's for some reason, even though it obviously takes place in the late 70's, considering the clothing, interior design and cop car model. If I were to guess it probably took place in 1977 - 1979, because the police was driving a mid/late 70's cop car, but Sara doesn't have a cassette player, so the Walkman had either not been released yet or wasn't popular yet.

You think the teacher and the teacher's husband was actually Wirt and Greg's parents? It would make sense since the teacher was sad about her husband leaving her, and Wirt and Greg could be experiencing something like that in real life if their parents were divorced.

Except there was no 1st quarter moon on Halloween for any single year in the 70s. It happened in 1984, and didn't happen again until 1995. and then once more in 2014. So of those three possible years, 1984 just seems the most likely given what we see of the world presented.

Yeah maybe. it could a smaller town where things change slower. I just like to imagine it as the late 70's, cause that's the vibe it gives off.

Sure, it's extremely commonplace to hang onto a car for 10 years, or to not update the look of your home for even longer than that.

>You think the teacher and the teacher's husband was actually Wirt and Greg's parents?

No, I think that the author simply used them in that page to bring the disguise to the situation and to make it clear that something weird is happening. Basically to show us Greg's real fear.

Wirt's father isn't divorced, he died, and his mother married again with another man, that's considered unnatural by the author, because technically the death doesn't exist in this story.

The story is setting in 2003. The explanation is this:

I think that the story is setting in the 2003 because if his father obtained the tape recorder in 1988 (the model of the tape recorder can't be older than this) when Wirt was a baby and Wirt is 15 years of old right now then it must to be 2003 and Greg was born in 1998.

>whole show is a shared near-death-experience
>implying sequel

Ashes to Ashes did it and it only JUT BARELY worked. I don't think it can be done gracefully.

>one character lives in the modern world
>another character lives in the far past
>pairing them up together
It would never work, just let them be.

The moon phase, son, the moon! It literally cannot be 2003.

THEY'RE GOING TO HAVE BEAUTIFUL WHITE CHILDREN, user. IT'S DESTINY.

Never ever.

Attached: Into_the_Wild_Green_Yonder_awe.jpg (300x169, 13K)

>Wirt and Beatrice got married and had babies and one of them goes on an adventure

What is this retarded fanfic bullshit?

The author doesn't see a problem with their romance thus I don't see it neither.

>one character lives in the modern world
>another character lives in the far past
>pairing them up together

That's the point user, that's why their romance and their child is something fantastic and magical, because it's something apparently impossible yet there it is. The kid is something unique.

McHale's sequel... At least just like he conceptualized it.

Sorry to be that guy, but...

The moon is there like a symbolism, of someone losing his half-orange and to explain that both of them are in different places. The white moon symbolizes the Unknown and The Black Moon symbolizes the real world. (It could be the other way around, I'm not sure, but Beatrice is related to Light and Wirt to Darkness in "For Sara")

The author probably made it accidentally, but the date can't be other than 2003 because the tape model and Wirt's age.

REEEEEEEEEE

I mean, it also happens to be that She is the reincarnation of his ded lover

I never got the hype on this show. The kid was bad, the show was too episodic and disconnected and the ending was underwhelming. I liked the world design I guess?

The deepest lore. I think that "love transcend the time" is the name of the movie.

That's it! You are going to sleep in the sofa tonight.

Attached: Birdie is ANGRY.jpg (600x338, 32K)

That Pinocchio animation looks like it was made in Japan in the 70's.

YOU ASSHOLE.

Not helping me understand. Like, I get it, it was 2014 and many of us were still looking for a light in the darkness that was the 2010's and this was a slightly more mature and creator driven show. My opinion still stands.

Yeah you are right. When I watched it at first I thought that it was Italian but it was anime in 1978. Pinocchio has two animes and these animes were the biggest influences for future works related to Pinocchio since Disney's movie in the years 40's. They were translated to many languages and broadcasting to many countries.

Even Italy loved these animes and they modified Pinocchio's adaptation to add that little bird to the story and some details were included to the original tale. USA tried to make new adaptations adding some new ideas used in these animes but they weren't popular because Disney doesn't allow another version of Pinocchio in its country, so they criticized seriously other adaptations and they tried to sue a certain studio because they said that Pinocchio was their property (the lost the case). But even right now in USA there is a fear to Disney so no one dares to make another adaptation of the original tale (because they are most likely economical lost) but Disney did nothing with the character for a long time so... it lost popularity.

beatrice, is that you?

beatrice wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwooooo

Lets do it!

Small towns (like the one Wirt lives in) usually end up receiving second hand models and are usually a few years removed from the latest models, whether it be vehicles or weapons. So if the car was a mid 70s model, its not far off to see it being used well into the 80s maybe even 90s, (I've actually seen cars similar to that model being driven around when I was a kid)

Wirt's room is comfy

That space between the table and the wall is disturbing to me. Please don't fucking leave the table standing on its own near the center of the room unless its a dining room, how hard is it to just place it against the wall or something?

Pretty much looks like my room when I'm on week of exams. That's why I fucking love OTGW

Name of the artist?

Not sure, but I think maybe this:

imagenesmi.com/imágenes/wirt-ver-mas-alla-de-jardin-d6.html

It's not in English though.

The song was inspired by the song Ballrooms of Mars written by T-Rex. I found absolutely interesting how McHale and Naoki Urasawa enjoyed the music of this group even when they lived in places so distant and grew with different cultures.

youtube.com/watch?v=mCUIuCuzdII

I fucking want to watch that serie/movie/thing, what's the name, Op?

He liked Fugazi too, right? There's a Fugazi tape on Wirt's table. McHale has culture.

Sorry if I'm being very dumb but what's Fugazi? (Yeah he probably likes it if it is music)

An old rock band.

When this sang came on while I was watching with my brother he joked about how dark it was asking if Wirt was about to hang himself

Oh I understand it now. They are two different animes 52 episodes each. The older one is Mokku of the Oak tree, the most important adaptation of Pinocchio after Disney's movie. I don't know how the another one is called but I found it as Pinocchio Adventures.

Err... user... there is a little confusion here... huh, I'm not OP.

I'm so confused, what the hell is this Pinnochio thing everyone in this thread is talking about? McHale is working on a Pinnochio story but it's not out yet, why is this work being discussed like it's something he made?

>Mokku of the Oak tree
Thank you very much.

>the most important adaptation of Pinocchio after Disney's movie
How so?

Yeah, wtf is the other Pinocchio?

SOMEBODY STORYTIME THIS SHIT AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

>How so?

It influenced in the most part of adaptations that appeared after it. For example Pinocchio Adventures was created 4 years after Mokku, and the little bird was inspired by Mokku and it was named after Pinocchio's endgame in the story of Mokku.

But this birdie became a main character in this second show, birdie then became so popular that she became Pinocchio's romantic interest in most part of adaptations.

Let me explain it to you guys and sorry if I'm not being clear enough, it's really hard to explain it.

McHale has been playing a game with the fandom, he is giving us hints about his new story but at the moment no one has seen them or deciphered them. McHale has gained experience and his new story is more complicated than OTGW, to understand their hints you need to combine much information.

The first thing that you need to understand is that McHale watched and studied Pinocchio to make his new story and he is gonna to apply it to his production, in fact he is applying it to OTGW, because he wants to create a relationship between Wirt and Pinocchio, and a relationship between Beatrice and Pinocchio's bird girlfriend. (his new story is a spirit sequel or a direct sequel, we don't know for sure)

McHale has become so subtle that even the colors of the characters in this video created by him have a secret meaning.

>create a relationship between Wirt and Pinocchio, and a relationship between Beatrice and Pinocchio's bird girlfriend

Mm... I think that "Link" could have been a more accurate word.

But we never saw Wirt make out with Beatrice under an adel wood tree in the Unknown during a summer afternoon.

Aww... I hate you too stupid user. It must hurt to be a Sara shipper at this point.

I kind of agree, it can be interesting when he's still talking about the actual show but when he just brings up random bullshit and acts like it's definitively what McHale is thinking of or using for reference it's just annoying.

Samefagging again? Old habits never die, huh?

What are your guy's thoughts on the Woodsman? I thought that his daughter was actually dead and the beast was just his fear of loosing her forever. He did as the "beast" told him to so he could just grasp on to what little he had left of his daughter, but he doesn't realize how badly this affected him and others. In the end he realizes he must face his fears and overcome the beast by letting go of his daughter.

I know the daughter appears in the final scene, but maybe that was just for the kids so it's not too dark.

Attached: latest.png (514x397, 293K)

I'm sorry not everyone loves your weird conspiracy theories guy. But like I said when you're talking about the show it can still be pretty nifty.

I'm sorry user but you are samefagging and you are dumb if you think that I can't notice it.

go to hell you idiot

>Using a phone

>There is a rumor who says that his problem with Sara is that McHale didn't pretend to include her in his story but he was forced to include a dark skinned female character by the network because that was like a rule inside the network to make the stories more appealing to these new times
