It's like Community season 4 where they make nonstop pop culture references for the sake of nerd cred and looking cool.

>was this show really bad
yes
>I feel this might be Steven U 2.0
why do you think it's so awful?

What? it's fine. It just has a few bad moments. it's mostly a great show. It's just too silly to ever have any investment. Nothing you're watching will matter.

i didn't like it ever. it's a 'moral of the week' cartoon with a lazy art style. then again, i haven't watched in a while.

I only watch it for the Boxman family. The main characters are pure trash

Why is Shannon best girl

>was this show really bad
correct
>I feel this might be Steven U 2.0
also correct

It IS really bad and why would you insult it by comparing it o steven universe?? XD

I really don't see why so many people seem to have this misconception of what the show was supposed to be.

A nerdy black kid just crammed all the shit he thought was cool when he was kid together and made a goofy cartoon with it.

>Off-modelness aside, was this show really bad? I feel this might be Steven U 2.0.

idk, i wanted to like it but i couldn't get into it like steven universe

>Was this show bad?
Depends on the storyboarder.
>I feel this might be SU 2.0
The show's more interested in making broad appeals to 80's nostalgia. There's no true love for what is on display, just a bunch of cheap throwbacks.

The only bad episode was the stupid skeleton remote one. Some were weak, but most were fun (notably the Boxmore episodes).

not if you're one to get invested in silly things

If it looked better, the show would be amazing

I am, that's why it's a problem. i WANT to get invested but I can't
so it's fine, I still like it. dendy is best waifu
i just know that it's going to be fucking meaningless and I shouldn't let myself care. like the 2nd iteration of Golan the Insatiable.

Adventure Time raised the standards of what a show about "all the cool shit you like crammed together" could be

I like it

>adventure time
>good
Can this meme stop.

It genuinely was good in the first two seasons. It's the only cartoon I can think of that had the balls to call a character "sexy" back then. It's literally the exact opposite of what it became

I wasn't a fan of the focus on Enid at Sky High, which went on for way too long, but I think it's pretty good.

did those episodes ever come out?
why does CN hate its shows?

Fairly Odd Parents used it pretty often with Wanda's ex-boyfriend.

>A nerdy black kid just crammed all the shit he thought was cool when he was kid together and made a goofy cartoon with it.
A lot like Dexter's Lab.

This. I love it on that merit alone, it's exactly the show I would make if I could

OK KO really isn't anything like SU outside of sharing a handful of crew members and having a few similar designs here and there.

That aside, it's not really a bad show, but it's definitely made for a very niche audience. It's made for people like famicom who like to watch their shows via webm compilations on sakugabooru, and autistic children who spend hours reading wiki articles about what everything is a reference to and then spend the rest of their time drawing shitty fancomics starring their OCs

If you don't fall into that demographic, the show's just going to look like complete nonsense, because you're not in on the joke

And that's really what OK KO is; one giant inside joke for a very particular crowd of nerds. It has zero appeal to mainstream audiences because it's not made for mainstream audiences

And the wheel in the sky keeps on turnin

I love how people who unfairly criticize the show always speak of it like it's shallow. It's not like there's been multiple ongoing story elements teaching the importance of self-care and mental health.

>importance of self-care and mental health

wow so it has all the depth of a bodyspray commercial?

Whoosh

"T.K.O., GET OUT OF MY OBSERVATORY"!

Ladies and gentlemen.

In this thread you will find the three same anons that's been going into every other OK KO thread. These three anons, for some retarded reason, have to remind every person in Yea Forums that they have shit taste. Then they start samefagging each thread because they piss their pants in rage when nobody is with them.

Honestly, I'm surprised they didn't post the same Carol and Gar picture they post everytime.

It's okay.
If I had complaints it's less about the animation and more how it flips back and forth between comedy and being pretending it's taking itself seriously, and how the comedy isn't even that great either, but kids probably love it, so could just not be for me.

Best characters are the villains cause after a while you realize the main trio are kind of annoying in different ways.

Attached: dad_by_hakutooon-dbkxc78.png (800x709, 373K)

how about fuck you? if there is one cartoon that embodies everything about the calarts meme, it's OK K.O. it's lazy, it looks like crap and it's full of agenda pushing. this cartoon is a complete shitshow and it's because the creator encourages his crew to employ the bare minimum effort, have unlikeable characters and horrid writing.

it failed to be the next big hit, the videogame bombed and is on permanent hiatus, it had it coming for a long time.

What's this about OKKO being shitcanned?

Ah, come quick people. We seem to have hooked one and the creature shows seething rage for being called out. As typical for one whose IQ is on par with a four year old.

That's right ladies and gentlemen, it actually thinks its own anger validates its terrible opinion. Hilarious, I know, but more sad than it carries itself out to be.

You may pity it, but I fear it will only cry some more.

KO drag the whole show down, he's just annoying and 2 dimensional even compared to the rest of the cast plus also not likeable or charismatic or funny or even cute, you could easily have an idealistic but not fully naive or retard character like Rikochet from Mucha Lucha for example instead of an autistic retarded kid.

Didn’t it get cancelled or something?

Are you on the spectrum? Who talks like this

>was
What?

This is already out of my league, but honestly? I think the humor is weak, very safe, too much references make it annoying to watch, the stories are boring, it's the art and animation looks lazy ... but this is all just my personal impression

>80's nostalgia
More like early 2000s nostalgia. You saw that Korn episode, right?

wholesome

>Adventure Time genuinely was good in the first two seasons
End this meme already. Adventure Time was good for all seasons except the last. Sure, it dropped the bomb with how little it did with the many plot threads it introduced throughout its run, but the show always kept things interesting, albeit unconventional and weird at times (especially in the infamous Season 6). You'd never know what to expect from the show, and that's what made it so great.

AT was closer to having no good seasons than having any good seasons outside the first two.

If it started season three it wouldn't have lasted to four.

I dropped it after that furry episode. What I had seen beforehand was okay, but nothing really amazing. It doesn't look like I'm missing out on much.

>Honestly, I'm surprised they didn't post the same Carol and Gar picture they post everytime.
With a show this ugly you can post any random screen cap to prove how bad it is.

Good stuff.

that "6-11 years old" running gag gets me every time

If they stopped being lazy, made it on model and more story focused it would be a very good show, but they dont so its sorta shit.

Yes, because showing the same screenshots over and over proves your point. Find something new, will ya?

Over a month later, these episodes still haven't been released.

Them shaking up the status quo by getting rid of box man was one my favourite things about this show, but they seem to be reverting it slowly and it really ticks me off, Darrel is a better character than boxman.

>replace your villains and turn them into side characters
Power Rangers did it

This. I wanted to pick the show back up after I heard that happened. Was really disappointed that they undid it so damn soon.

I suspect it has to do with post-production issues, although neither Ian nor the crew are acting like the show's finished. It's not uncommon for a series or creator to be radio silent about new episodes until very late before the network does something with it- Steven Universe is in the same boat with the movie. Also, NDAs.

The "agenda pushing" only happened in that stupid skeleton remote episode.

I tried watching it but I came out hating it instead of just being indifferent to it. It tries to hard to be fun and quirky but in the end it just never allows itself to breath. The characters aren't fun to follow, most of the time they're just assholes, and not likable assholes. It tries so hard to be an anime, it's worst than Steven Universe because they copy the most annoying parts of anime instead of something actually good. Enid isn't even good thicc, she has the thighs of an obese women, they tried too hard to make her hot and somehow failed. Elodie had better legs. The only good part of this show was TKO calling Enid a wage slave.

>the videogame bombed
Source on that?

You kidding? This is the basis of every thread.

>Show pushes leftist propaganda

Attached: 1328516332488.jpg (981x580, 140K)

I really don't get the appeal of this show anymore.

BLOOM CACTUS BLOOM IN THE PLAZA

It's ahead of its time. Regular Show had a large following by appealing to 80's nostalgia, but not necessarily everyone watching actually remembered the references. Society has just had more time to digest 80's culture and learn to recognize cues for when to make the nostalgia gland tingle pleasantly.

OKKO is drawing from rap metal, screamo, Bleach and Naruto and the gallows march of the 90s kids that was the early 2000s. The cringe of living through all of that is too fresh in too many Yea Forumsmrade's minds to give the show its due credit.

tl;dr It's no better or worse than Regular Show. It just came out too soon and feels stale instead of "slyly retro and cleverly researched."

Plot- and theme-wise, it's nothing like SU. KO is a literal bastard with rage powers whose mom is probably a slut and isn't sure if Gar is his dad, not constantly reassured that his missing parent was a hero of the universe whose loving heal powers he possesses.

Attached: 1529187618705.png (1377x909, 955K)

Its actually had some pretty interesting story so far

>He thinks leftism is bad because of rightwing propaganda

>I don't get the appeal
Over 650+ comments and you "don't get it"? Can't help you user, clearly it's not for you.

Kek, there they are.

Wow. Mad.

>Off-modelness aside
wasn't an issue for this show. this is a bait thread.

How does this show push leftist propaganda? I barely saw this show, I just remember that it was very dull and boring...

>How does this show push leftist propaganda?
It pushes normalcy of Furfaggotry, and that is a far greater sin.

why are you guys referring to it in the past tense? what happened
>was

Visually it's one of the best cartoons right now. Flexibility and true hand drawn animation. Off model complainers who think this show has the same problems SU does are cartoonlets and probably zoomer faggots.

Stuff like this is exactly why I just watch the show for fun and avoid thread discussion.

After the Ghoul School crossover I finally gave the show a shot and watched a few episodes. I pretty much had similar feelings I've had towards other recent cartoons, I don't think they're bad I just don't find them all that interesting. Most of the show was alright, but only alright

As for the animation, it's kinda hard for me to explain but the fact that it goes off model is probably not problem. I more think that the art style just doesn't compliment the animation. They probably should've either gone with a somewhat more detailed art style to compliment the off-model animation or more smooth and clean animation to compliment the simplistic art style. I think the online shorts done by Studio Yotta are a good example of the latter.

Attached: ghals.png (438x455, 282K)

man you guys are delusional

>Visually it's one of the best cartoons right now
I hope this is a joke. Even Steven Universe blows this shit out of the water visually.

I would also consider the "furries are nice and normal and should be socially accepted" an agenda episode. And anyone who believes that is a fucking idiot who is okay with putting children in danger of sexual assault.

>can't argue back

Attached: literally you.png (261x296, 86K)

>was this show really bad?
Don't buy guns bro

"Supposed to be" doesn't excuse a show from having bad writing. Cramming references is not how you write a show.

I don't care about arguing. I personally like the show, but the way it goes off-model kind of bothers me.
I just thought the three anons thing was funny.

>It's not like there's been multiple ongoing story elements teaching the importance of self-care and mental health.
That's not depth.

It's boring but it has bright spots.

Attached: 036cc6bb-48a6-4fdf-8c28-33ef0b40569c.gif (540x304, 1.11M)

kek

Its pretty cool, I wouldn't tell my friends to watch it or talk about it, but I find it good enough to tune in when a new episode drops.
it isn't bad if you want a quick low effort and colorful show, which is what I wanted out of it.
I definitely feel as though it is tonnes better than Stevens talk show though, which really isnt saying much.

Many bright spots.

So you're actually retarded then. Got it

That's not a political statement

It's a decent show that came out at the exact wrong time. It's a show steeped in 2010s trends that started airing right when people started growing tired of said trends. If it came out in 2012 or 2025 it would have been much more warmly received

Attached: 1547872880590.png (1280x720, 570K)

I fucking LOVED the Studio Yotta shorts. Science SARU’s shorts were also pretty great.

>when you hear her Indian accent slip into her PROPAH BRI ISH accent every now and again

I hate to go full weeb here, but you can off-model like FLCL or Dead Leaves as long as it doesn't look like trash- it's the execution, not the concept.I think they screwed it up by not keeping a consistent mass in motion as well making the alternating proportions stand on their own as a individual animation/drawing. As a result, you get awkward stills and off-putting motion. I remember Richard Williams talking about something similar with how that Tex Avery, for all of his attempts to make animation realistic, still had a "underlying knowledge of realism."
