Continuing the Binary storytime, showing the very first time Carol Danvers became this powerful cosmic being and was at the peak of her game, in Uncanny X-Men #164 during the Brood saga. Following this very interesting part of her history, she got nerfed and turned into yet another flying brick, not before going in adventures with the Starjammers and having occasional brushes with other cosmic-tier heroes, such as Quasar (we'll get to that later). Also one of her cooler outfits!
Starting here Continuing with Uncanny X-Men #162, in which Wolverine wakes up from a feverish dream induced by the Brood, to keep him compliant while the hideous aliens experiment with them...
>"... All I've done since is what I did before-- as Carol Danvers-- fight, kill, survive. There's no joy in me anymore, only grief, and hate." >"The Brood helped me make what I am. It's a mistake they'll live to regret."
And that's it! The very first arc featuring Binary and her whole splendor. Thank you for the bumps, hope you all enjoyed it and if you have any requests related to this storytime in a way or another, let me know.
Forgot to mention! This issue is tied to the famous Fantastic Four story entitled "The Trial of Galactus", during John Byrne's run (#262). It's a really cool story people should also read, though so it is that entire run, as underrated as it is.
Brody Carter
Thanks OP.

Change to make Binary costume full body suit instead of just the white makes it much better.
Henry Lewis
Agreed, the fire highlights makes her look a bit too generic compared to similar characters. A white body suit with maybe a few lines here and there might work better. Keeping the black stars of course.
My favorite is this part: youtube.com/watch?v=-8CN4igaMdY Near the 7min mark, when she starts blasting ships left and right. Also it's a very "John Williams" track at some parts.
>Thank you for the bumps, hope you all enjoyed it and if you have any requests related to this storytime in a way or another, let me know. Spotlight on Starjammers? An user storytimed the first a while back but not the second.
Logan Taylor
I think I might have their Ellis run somewhere, will have to check. I don't have a list of their Uncanny X-Men appearances though.
Colton Reyes
There's specifically a two-parter called Spotlight on Starjammers I remember the first issue had Carol try to genocide another insect race.
Sebastian Lewis
Found it! Alright, let's do this. It's my first time reading this, so this should be fun.
Hah, gotta love how not even Corsair remembers who the fuck are the Imperial Guard members at all times. Cool to see the *other* Quasar in there, though.
Damn, just reached the image limit with only 6 pages to go... Just when it was getting good.
Brody Rivera
Darn. Maybe post them whenever the Tuesday Carolthread starts up.
Anthony Gutierrez
I'm gonna finish it here And maybe even post the Starjammers mini afterwards.
Lucas Johnson
sweet. I have read the Brood Saga a couple times, it's my favorite X-Men story. But I have never read Starjammers, thanks
Camden Gutierrez
I'm also posting some Quasar over here , in case you want to take a look.
Caleb Ross
thanks, I will try and keep both threads bumped
Carter Bailey
kek, Carol those all suck. I also wouldn't put it past Johnny to copywrite that saying. the hell? A were-mermaid?
Gavin Price
That mermaid is definitely NOT the weirdest thing in the issue.
William Diaz
this was fucking AMAZING! no real words but all sorts of cool relationships that were easy enough to understand with this bonkers way of telling it.
Luke Jones
ah, the murder Carol we love. NO! yeah, I love Marvel Cosmic so much
Jace Lewis
Fuck em up Carol ...oh, she literally just did a drive by....er through the ship, lol. >shit my pants what a cute couple
David Sanders
nice! JEAN! But seriously, I like the sentient ship talking They should be pretty evenly matched, and she can take a punch, she's used to them by now
Cooper Morales
thyank you, I tried to google binary apperances before but it's impossible
Dominic Reed
someone should make a wojak prof
Jack Flores
>fight me r u kidding me? I want to make love with you, not fight
Landon Martin
Cockrum is the most underrated costume designer of all time
Henry Brooks
Reading bump. With all the current x-men I've been reading lately I forgot that x-men could be this great user
Caleb Richardson
the'yre going to be great again. busiek and hickman will write some
Andrew Lee
Just remember, when fags here tell you she has no good stories because "muh Marcus rape and Rogue", call them out for not knowing about this. >They should be pretty evenly matched Friendly reminder that the only reason she stopped being Binary was because she was so powerful that she felt alienated in the groups she joined for not fitting in. Had the Annihilators existed back then, she probably would've been around longer.
Jackson Cook
>Friendly reminder that the only reason she stopped being Binary was because she was so powerful that she felt alienated in the groups she joined for not fitting in yeah, and that seemed planned from here even, and leads to an interesting story that Busiek did. Characters get powered up and depowered all the time, but this is a really fun time, and led to the idea that Carol works as well in space as on earth.
