Supposedly sometime today at a C2E2 panel
In a half-hour.
>Hickman is
What did they mean by this?
DARKSEID IS
Not they, him... Making a joke off Tom King's Mister Miracle run and the constant Darkseid puns.

>MARVEL COMICS: Next Big Thing

>Room S401
It doesn't say timezone, so I'm guessing ET? Starting in 30mins.
So Hickman is butthurt about having to go back to Marvel?
I don't think he's being held at gunpoint, user...
He was actually offered something at DC but clearly he declined.
>he declined
Good. I didn't want him raping LoSH.
I just really hope it's an Eternals book. No more X-Men, please.
You prefer Bendis? Because that is what we will get
that's for Bendis, King and Johns to do until the end of time
>declined
Wasn't that only because Johns tied LOSH up with Doomsday Clock and is still tying them up?
I'm not fully aware of the details, but this looks like he was approached from both fronts and he went for the one that gave him the most freedom and/or the best offer overall. And as far as I remember, he did that one poll a while ago about a Marvel series people would like him to write, but nothing about DC specifically.
So any chance they’ll reprint his omnibuses?
>the one that gave him the most freedom
Marvel has no editors, after all.
Shitman pls
Jordan White is an enabler, for sure. That's what he's good at, saying yes at "high profile" writers in total detriment of the story, consistency, continuity...
I'm waiting for the rest of his Fantastic Four run to be printed as oversized trade. IIRC they only released a Volume 1 of a "Complete Collection" but nothing else.
The first volume of his Avengers is OOP but the second can still be found at some places.
I just want to collect all his avengers Omnis and I might have to dip a bit more to get it good off eBay if I can’t find a store that had it
They seriously need to reprint this. That, or release oversized trades, I wouldn't mind those, since their recent Annihilation reprints are of very good quality.
Problem is, given the size they're probably gonna have to make 4 or even 5 volumes of those.
Jason Aaron will be co-writing valkyrie with Al Ewing
Great news. I wonder how well those two would work, at the very least he'd keep the continuity in check while Aaron handles the hammy stuff.
X-Men announcement coming? (please don't be Hickman...)
it is, he's writing house of x and powers of x.
Fuck that noise...
I doubt they will fix the X-Men.
>oversized trades
They are releasing complete collections of his Avengers and FF run. First vol of Avengers is out next month.
>making fun of mister miracle
Are you implying that the phrase "Darkesid is" is from Mister Miracle? because it's from rock of ages
House of X and Powers of X
Written by Hickman

I'll keep an eye on those then, I'm more interested in the F4 for now, and I hope they also release the Future Foundation stuff.
He is definitely poking fun at the giant black DARKSEID IS panels used repeatedly in King's Miracle and the jokes made from it by other people.
>After weeks of speculation from comic book fans around the world, Marvel revealed the next monumental chapter for the X-Men during this year’s Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo. During Marvel’s Next Big Thing Panel, critically-acclaimed creator Jonathan Hickman announced two new series: HOUSE OF X and POWERS OF X, beginning this July!
>Ever since Stan Lee and Jack Kirby introduced the X-Men, fans everywhere have followed the extraordinary stories of the X-Men through seminal moments like GIANT-SIZE X-MEN, 1991’s X-MEN #1, AGE OF APOCALYPSE, and NEW X-MEN. Each of these moments introduced a new era for mutantkind—and starting this summer, the world will experience the next seminal moment in the history of the X-Men with HOUSE OF X and POWERS OF X.
>“We are excited to have Jon back with the Marvel family, and we could not have asked for a better creative team to help usher the X-Men into a whole new era,” says Marvel Editor in Chief C.B. Cebulski. “While we can’t reveal too much about the story just yet, these new stories will redefine the X-Men and their place in the Marvel Universe. This is a historic moment both new and passionate fans won’t want to miss.”
>These two new series—written by Jonathan Hickman with art by Young Gun Pepe Larraz, R.B. Silva, and colorist Marte Garcia—will build from every major X-Men milestone since 1963 up through the current X-Men series and storylines fans know and love, including some of our most iconic characters from over the decades. Each series will be released on an alternate weekly schedule, starting with HOUSE OF X, followed by POWERS OF X. Fans will be able to follow along each week this summer and witness history unfold.
Here's the official, upcoming events slate. They got something planned for December 2019, who knows what yet.
Damn Cebulski, you should wear your Hawaiian shirts more often.
Right, Hickman just said he's partial to Grant Morrison's run, make of that what you will.
Here's the redundant symbiote event by Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman.
Hickman is gay for you
Feels good bros. Love you guys.
A sneak peek of all the edgy shit Stegman drew for Cates.
His art is fun imo. Reminds me of 90s TODD and Capullo
I enjoy it, even though it usually looks washed out (haven't you noticed?). I just don't like the writing, but I've liked his other works.
Honestly they can put him on whatever and I can already tell you what the plot's gonna be:
>X-Men suddenly talking in complete sci-fi nonsense like "The Eigenvalue wavelength returns to a composite soft matter state when in proximity to non-mutate lifeforms"
>new out of nowhere villain who spends half the time on panel giving pointless speeches about the human condition like "humanity is a self-terminating virus without even the foresight to perpetuate its host to prolong its own incubation cycle
>half the X-Men get killed in the first ten pages of the first issue
>some pretentious arc title like "Zero-Sum Reality"
>arc-long mystery that gets resolved in last two pages with "and then we figured it out two months ago"
The worst part is that I'm gonna love every page because even though I'm aware of every single one of his flaws I'm still a Hickman fan
The sci-fi nonsense still makes sense and it's proper stuff that wouldn't look out of place in hard sci-fi. I think that's why I give it a pass and how he makes the setting work, even though you absolutely can't see such high concepts working for every title.
I can't fully hate the decision because he still went and picked Pepe Larraz, which I absolutely adore.
