I've been out of it for a year or so, how's the world of cartoons looking Yea Forums? What's your take on the current state? Anything new I should know about? Is TTG still ruling CN?

Watch any good shows or animated films lately? Anything interesting on the horizon or that has aired in recent times? Barring yesterdays sticky of course.

Christina Miller left I think

ttg still rules but total dramarama is also ruling the network. also, johnny test is coming back

Love, Death & Robots has been getting s lot of positive buzz lately. Though more of it comes from it's stylization and animation. So it's more eye candy, but really good one.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Very beloved. Meets the perfect balance of style and substance.

DC Super Hero Girls 2019 is CN currently airing Lauren Faust's newest show. That has seen a lot of positive reactions on these parts. It's been getting a lot of love and not just for the cute characters. It's pretty genuinely entertaining with the added bonus of cute characters.

Victor and Valentino currently airing newest CN show. It's had so so reactions so far. The show up to this point had has two episodes to come out. Aside from Yea Forums constantly lewding this one particular character. It doesn't seem to get much love. I think it's worth keeping on an eye on it. As it stands right now it's not really a must watch at all.

Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles another reboot of the turtle bros. Except this one is very much stylized. I hear it's a very fun show. Worth giving a shot maybe.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power is one of those can't have a discussion on this show without the thread turning into a shitshow. I think it's a medicore show that gets too much hate. I think it's worth checking out if only so you can form your own opinion on it.

Hilda is comfy. Which means some people think it's boring and others are cute. A solid show about a cute little girl who goes on magical city adventures. Who her threads get a lot of removed posts rightfully so.

Carmen Sandiego the Netflix reboot has had a mostly postive reaction towards it. Many loving Carmen's modern look. Worth checking out.

Eris always gave me boners when I was a kid. God damn Greek Goddess of chaos and boners.

That's a good objective summary.

>Johnny test is coming back
For what purpose.

Thanks a lot lad, really appreciate the breakdown. Lot of stuff there that sounds very interesting, especially since I hadn't heard a lot of it.
Fausts new show sounds interesting, I'm not too much into capeshit though, would've been nice if it was its own thing.

>another reboot of the turtle bros
wew

>Carmen Sandiego
I had no idea what this is, but a quick Google is suggesting vigilante female protag. Sounds interesting, might check that out.

>Hilda
Comfy as in good comfy or aimed at very little girls sort of comfy? I watched the trailer and as a Brit the Voice Acting reminds me far too much of elementary school shows.

Thanks for the fill in on the others too, it's good to be in the know. Hopefully I see threads for all of it and see what's what. I did see a thread on the catalog that said Magic Mightyswords is getting cancelled. I don't follow the show at all, but is that true? And what's happened to Gumball? I've not seen a thread or heard updates on that in a while. Someone also mentioned a show to me that was supposedly "scarier than Courage the Cowardly Dog" that airs on CN, but I don't have a name. Anything of the film or smaller animations side? Also have a lovely weekend bro

Mighty Magiswords just wasn't popular. So they made the choice to not renew it.

As for Gumball their was many rumors of the show being canned before season 6 came. Though not that has come and went and their hasn't been many words on S7. Though there's a direct to tv movie supposed to come soon. Which many speculate will be the end of Gumball.

Hilda that's really up for you to decide. It's not pre school show. Though out of all the shows I mentioned it's the safest and targets the youngest audience.

Smaller animation side Satiana Wants A Glass of Water is very well received. It was made by one person. Over a course of several months it's a 3 min short. Yesterday the creator herself actually came onto Yea Forums thanking everyone for the support and fulfilling some draw requests.

Hazbin Hotel is another smaller animated project that Yea Forums loves to hate.

Long Gone Gulch is mostly well received.

The Dark Harvest is another many are looking forward to.

As for CN show scarier than Courage I'm not sure which show your friend is talking about. Maybe Over The Garden Wall though I don't think it is that.

>Though there's a direct to tv movie supposed to come soon
no

>For what purpose.
For the whipcrack of course. And the twins. Mostly the twins. It's all for the twins.

Oh looks like you're right about that. I saw a video, some comments, and even an article talk about it. But yeah there's no confirmed movie just more rumors.
I was thinking Gravity Falls too, but he said on CN and GF isn't that recent anymore. Though the friend could.of just been wrong about the network

Wait shoot you were talking about Johnny Test ignore what I wrote. Do we know where it's airing?

>their was many rumors of the show being canned before season 6
Odd, I thought it was quite popular. Has Season 6 ended? I didn't even realise, there didn't seem to be any big finale. It's very strange how it's been silence.
>Hilda
Fair enough, I could understand the comfy posting from the trailer but like I said, it's the voice acting that did seem a bit jarring.
>Satiana wants a glass of water
I heard of this and saw the sticky yesterday but didn't really participate because I didn't know anything about it. I know it's a 3 minute short so I could've caught up immediately, but eh, soon.

Thanks for the mention of Long Gone Gulch and the Dark Harvest. Plenty here for me to go off and learn about now. Lovely stuff. Might start with Faust's, just not too keen on the whole DC superhero aspect

It's not OTGW or Gravity Falls, I've seen both. It was one word, it might've been a foreign show. I'd ask him but I don't think he knows too, he found it on Twitter and isn't very Yea Forums at all.

left or got fired?

I watched On Happiness Road and really liked it
But it's a bit of an acquired taste

I don't think so, but it will spell doom for us all

Billy&Mandy was a great show

Did Mandy ever get really pissed off at Eris?

I think she was pretty pissed having to wait 10 hrs in the Cereal episode even though she didn't show it until Eris refused to take the bird off of Billy's head and started assaulting Thud. It seemed out of character for Mandy to stare at Thud for 10 hrs though.

It's doing fine. I took a break from modern cartoons a few years back, only watching shows from the 50s-2000s and during that time I kind of realized that the 90s and 2000s were the exception and not the rule. The default state of western animation is that of day time sitcoms; mostly insanely insultingly mediocre, but with a handful of really great shows.

Christina miller finally left as chairman literally within a few weeks ago, TTG is still being spammed but after a reboot of thundercats in the same vein of TTG was announced it started a huge backlash towards the well of complaints against those type of modern cartoons. That reboot, thundercats roar is supposed to premiere within the next few months. CNs new shows last year we’re all mediocre and bland. Apple and onion and summer camp island felt like shows for preschoolers, with the former only lasting like 10 episodes and the latters entire season dumped unceremoniously over the span of two days. Craig of the creek is the milquetoast blandness of every townie episode and we bare bears formed into one disappointing fusion.

She ra got a reboot headed by some ultradyke, so it’s aesthetically repulsive and super tumblry as a result. Every female character is designed to be virtually unfeminine without visible breasts or curves. I only watched up to season 2 of voltron so I never followed it, but it did end and I heard it ended rather badly.

Star vs season 3 nuked any interest I had in it by becoming all relationshit and lore bait. The characters are awful to one another now and it is taken itself too seriously and isn’t fun anymore.

Ninja turtles got a reboot that’s actually a pretty good cartoon but major changes to it can be offputting if you’re a fan.

Hi trollhunterfag

I was just sort of wondering if they ever got into a little war with each other, would've been an interesting back and forth

I think they both try to stay clear of each other’s way and have a sort of mutual respect for one another although Eris did call her ugly in keeper of the reaper. Mandy doesn’t have a nose so she’s not wrong.

Eris is probably aiding the rebels or causing random chaos in God emperor mandy’s ever expanding domain that Mandy disapproves of.

>Eris did call her ugly
kek. It's kind of weird how different protags were designed with completely different features back then.
where does Grim fit into all of this?

Star Vs was always going to get into lore tier, you could tell from the first few episodes

I think I remember Grim was secretly helping the rebel’s to overthrow Mandy. He probably never expected the brats to live forever or in Billy’s case be cloned again and again.

>Ninja Turtles reboot
>AGAIN

Who's keeping up with any of this shit? How do they keep doing it? There must be a shit ton of TMNT shows by now

kek, poor Grim, he never gets it easy, does he?

Thank you
