Do you see the problem with this?
Do you see the problem with this?
Yeah, shitty writing. Like much of Avatar
No?
If she was going to bend it into a suit why not do that immediately?
By kicking it down and then rolling into it she leaves herself vulnerable for a half second she doesn't need to.
If it's about aesthetic I argue that walking into the door, and indenting it/having the rest wrap around you as a suit might be cooler looking.
the most obvious reason is because there would be no visual clarity of it being toph from that angle.
The other reason is maybe it's just easier to bend metal onto you from the ground. Bending is technically martial arts.
Well... metal in ATLA is practically a glorified version of rock so...
I really can't see the problem in this scene, maybe that asspull in the finale
Bending is the weapon of the oppressors. Chi Blocking is martial arts.
>Bending is the weapon of the oppressors
Based Equalist poster
there is too little metal to form the full suit.
>the metal is 8" thick
>it becomes stretched to make the quarter mile of yards squared to cover the body
>it blocks fluffballs of fire that the ladensfrost effect would diminish with just a light sting anyway
She's in heavy ass metal but a lil fire pushed her back.
scientific accuracy was never Avatar's strong suit
That's the same shit i said.
It's a motherfucking spiritualism cartoon.
Don't ask for realistic logic.
it's too well animated for Yea Forums standards?
I guess it's pretty sloppy that Metal Suit Toph is the same color as the wall behind her. They could easily have made the door a different color so her movements would read better.
Even in Futurama they made sure they didn't color Mars bright orange or red because they wanted Fry to stand out from the background.
>Do you see the problem with this?
That a metal suit wouldn't be very helpful against fire as it's a hell of a conductive material that would retain heat?
>Even in Futurama
>Even
Buddy, do you know how many times more $$$ is spent on a single episode of that?
Yeah, on VAs.
If he was what he said he was, he'd be the hero of the series.
I don't have any problem following Toph's movements.
The metal suit should heats up making it more a prison than protection and she shouldn't be able to movie in it, except she is constantly bending every movement, which makes it too much of an hindrance.
If water-benders can cool ice wouldn't it make sense the supposed best earth-bender could cool metal?
Ooh, they can heat it up! We know that.
I really wish the writers would have known they were getting more seasons before cramming Amon's arc into one.
I don't want to be all "Amon was right!" , but , like, hey Amon had some good points.
Imagine if some people could conceal carry a gun or a fucking cannon 100% of the time, whenever where ever.
You have 0 way of identifying them if they don't want you to know, and they were chosen based entirely on a chance at birth.
I'd want some fucking tasergloves too, alli'msayin.
yes
I'd rather be behind the metal than in front of it.
Would probably work for a little bit at least, can chuck it off when it gets too hot.
She's not on solid ground so she can't see, she rolled in to tank a hit to know where it came from.
She's a human burrito rolled up in foil and getting grilled?
>fire ships are made of fire retardant materials to ensure crew fights don't endanger the entire crew
Makes sense. How did they get the fire retardant materials to take shape is another question, maybe it's a coating or it was added to the mixture while in casting.
>j-just enforce strict no-infighting rules!
Yeah. Like that shit would fly with a bunch of hotheads
Metal attracts heat like a son of a bitch, she'd unironically be burning alive in that suit after like 3 blasts. Metal is a terrible tool against firebenders, they can literally just fucking melt it or heat it up to such a degree it burns her alive
She dosen't.
Wouldn't the metal heat up burning toph inside?
she likely needed to kick it off its hinges first
have it completely separate from the wall
no
I was thinking of pic related
it gets even worse when you realize that it's the day where their powers are at their strongest
the kind of fire benders ozai would bring should basically have heat enough to vaporize an unprotected person and boil toph alive in seconds
Toph is only directly hit once, by a relatively weak looking flame in the beginning of the fight. She rolls under the next shot, and then bends the floor up in front of her to make a protective wall to deflect the next fireblast, which is much much stronger as we see it rush out the entranceway causing Sokka and Suki recoil from it. If Toph had been hit directly by this shot, she might've presumably been burned through the metal.
no airholes
no fuckhole
If Bryke were good writers, they would have kept the backdoor open for him to come back. They aren't, so that's why they went for a dumb Naruto style ending for the villains.
