It's like they made nothing but stupid writing choices for this character. If Fury could call her why not do it for the alien invasion that involved the thing that gave her the powers she has? Why not tell the another person just in case he dies and they need her for something?

I think the Russos have confirmed that the trailers we've seen have some misleading, throwaway footage like the first Infinity War trailer did. I wouldn't be surprised if that shot of them all walking in the quantum suits is among them and the team that actually goes in is different.
