For me it’s Tokyo Disneyland
Theme-park-World Land
Disney World.
>4 Theme Parks
>2 Water parks
>2 Mini golf courses
>4 pro golf courses
>2 shopping, dining and entertainment districts
>Crap ton of themed hotels
>ESPN Sports Park
>Large camp ground
>Free bus and Skyway transportation
I love Disneyland for how compact it is but Walt Disney World all the way.
Disneyland Paris
Universal Orlando
this
Disney World, though I'm biased since I grew up in Florida and never went to Land. As far as I can tell, Land is Magic Kingdom 2. I'm going to Animal Kingdom in a week.
I'll never go to Cali. Disney World is a fucking swamp from April to November. Only upside to WDW would be the likelihood of running into Alexa Bliss in full waifu mode, sad cos she's too short to ride Space Mtn.
Didney Worl
I haven't been to either since I was a kid, so I don't really remember which one I liked better.
Any favorite rides?
Can't comment. I've only been to Land.
It's always been a dream to just drive around and hit all the parks. Worl, Cedar Point, Dollywood, the superior Universal. But that's more of a /trv/ thing, so I won't press it.
All Land has going for it is the history, better versions of classic rides like Pirates, and Indiana Jones.
World tops it in literally every other regard.
Nintendo World, but literally just because
>potential for immersive Pokemon shit
beats out
>confirmed immersive Nu-Wars shit
If Galaxy's Edge was nothing but OT continuity I'd like it more.
>5' 1" is too short to ride Space Mountain
I call BS
Legoland
>Land is land-locked and has precious little space to work with
>make a right choice by changing the theming of Bugs Land for DCA so it has more going for it and isn't locked to one damn thing
>but also have Galaxy's Edge eating up precious space in normal Land
I'm still not happy about this, the only good thing is that Critter Country isn't a dead end anymore but I don't think it was worth it either.
I went to Legoland one year every week and it was the best year of my life. Short lines, colorful coasters, fun for both me and my kids, peaceful garden. It's a beautiful park.
I just want to go back to 10 years ago when a Disneyland ticket cost like $90 for SoCal locals
I feel you. Lines felt shorter then too. Makes going to Disney feel less and less worth it. I'm still gonna, though. The child in me can't fight it.
>but also have Galaxy's Edge eating up precious space in normal Land
All the unused portions weren't going to be used by anything anyways given how spread out and out of the way it all was; it was either consume existing stuff and create a big land, or leave it as it was. The used portions were really just backstage areas for cast members, an area for the horses they use for Main Street, and Big Thunder Ranch. And while I'll miss the goats (and reindeer during Christmas season) and food, it's pretty acceptable losses all things considered.
fuck anaslime i swear to god
go ducks and angels tho
t. south county
have any Yea Forumscks here planned a meetup at either of the parks before?
I like both, but I prefer Disneyland
>Indiana Jones
>Their version of Pirates
>Peter Pan actually has stars in it
>Small World isn't jammed into a room
>Car Land's Racers
>Random thing that is completely subjective, but the rabbit mother in Splash Mountain adds something to my experience
Be Our Guest and Animal Kingdom are baller though, I'll give Disney World that. They have a huge space advantage, so I get when people choose it given the versatility, but there's also just...empty space that I feel they could take better advantage of, even with just simple design choices
it's not. it's 40 inches.
the one that still has the Tower of Terror
>too short to ride space mountain
bitch you have to be smaller 40 inches to not ride disney world that's a fucking dwarf your dating.
I've never been to either.
How bad are the lines for the rides and stuff really? I'm imagining 20+ minutes, which is more than I can handle.
Go in the winter and there are no lines at all. True for all theme parks.
Not a single person has ever been to both parks. It's a REAL conspiracy that I've been researching for the past 11 years. Don't expect anyone to believe me but it's true. Something or someone prevents you from going to one park if you've already been to the other. Yet it doesn't seem to apply to the international parks, just the California and Florida parks.
I myself have been to Disney World, but every time I attempt to buy tickets to Disney Land, some mysterious error happens and I don't get refunded. Even worse, I've even tried to just drive to the park myself. What happens? Construction blocks the way a few miles before I get there. Or a police barricade. Or a "wildfire". I've tried dozens of times now. Spent hundreds, planned entire roadtrips, rented a helicopter, fucking everything. It's not possible.
I'm not crazy because I've met other people who have discovered the same truth. At first I thought perhaps Disneyland was completely fabricated, but upon meeting people who experienced my situation in reverse, I realized the truth is far more complex and the power involved fills me with unbelievable dread. The lengths these people go to in order to prevent someone from seeing both parks is so utterly bizarre and perplexing, and I still don't have a single clue why they do it. I can't even come up with a crazy hypothesis as to why they would do it. Starting a forest fire that destroys miles and miles of land and homes just so a car cant find an alternate path to a theme park is utter insanity, and it's not even their greatest feat. My contacts have done their research well, and hurricanes are always timed EXACTLY when one of them tries to visit the Florida park. HURRICANES.
I dont know how they do it and I don't know why. This shit has eaten up my whole life and I'm not even remotely close to discovering the truth. They don't even have the decency to eliminate me because they know no one would ever believe me. I'm so tired. I just want this nightmare to end.
But then most parks north of Atlanta are closed, so...
In peak season it can be over an hour.
I'm fairly certain I have visited both. Granted it's been years so I don't remember much
based
I've lived in California and Florida because lol military parent and have gone to World and Land.
Fuck, no way am I going through that.
I'm a huge nintendofag, but Galaxy's Edge actually looks fucking insane. While Super Nintendo World will be really fun with a rad Mario Kart ride, Galaxy's Edge is just way more ambitious and grand.
Maybe it's also because I'm a europoor who will most likely never actually get to go to Orlando, so at least I might get to see the watered down Star Wars land in Paris at some point.
>Disneyland Paris
As a Britbong, DLP is honestly the cheapest choice for me, would eventually like to have the money to go to Disney World.
Then go in October.
This fall/winter will probably be really busy because of Galaxy's Edge opening. Next year should be better though.
how will disney even compete?
California Adventure
in what way is dca better then mk or dl?
I haven’t been back to World in almost 20 years but Land has a lot more going for it these days. Epcot and MGM have stagnated. No ride in MK can top the Indiana Jones ride. AK is cool but Avatarland was a mistake and only has one good ride. DCA sucked for awhile but now with the marvel stuff will be much improved. And all that’s not even factoring in Galaxy’s Edge.
You sound like some backwoods shut in with too much time on your hands or are just a shiposter. Either way I’m and have been to both. DW when I was 5 and 10 and DL when I was 14, 17, 19, 26, and will again either in a few weeks or after Galaxy’s Edge opens.
>I'm imagining 20+ minutes
Is there even a question?
Magic kingdom
Yes, the lines are a problem. Before Disney became international, the waits were short!!!
You may be onto something. Last year I'd planned a meetup with my friends to go to Land, and every single one of them ran into some financial trouble that'd prevent them from going.
>Mickey Mouse pancakes over The fucking Indiana Jones ride
Based brainlet
>an hour during peak season
Not sure if it's due to being weaned on shit like six flags where things are even longer, but this feels like nothing.
Kek, Disney has been pumping scents in to Disneyland since 1955..
for me its merida
I still have a stub from when I went there as a kid. Back when it was only about $35 to get in.
Magic Kingdom is LITERALLY Disneyland 2. In my opinion Disneyland overall is more consistent in terms of quality and tone. MK has fucking amazing things like the castle, New Fantasyland, a bigger more interesting Adventureland, but then there's the abysmally tacky Tomorrowland that's just a weird mishmash of random properties and historical attractions. And MK's Space Mountain is complete ass compared to Disneyland's.
This copypasta never gets old.
I'm going to Tokyo DisneySea in a few weeks. Saw that they have an Indiana Jones ride, but it has a different name. Is it an entirely different one that the one in Disneyland, or is it more or less the same? I've never been to California, but I heard that ride is one of the greats.
DCA is super laid back. A day at DCA is much less stressful than a day at Disneyland. And the theming/detail is incredible.
I know that much, just wanted some way of conveying that Land seems like MK+. I guess sequels are actually sometimes worse though. More Magical Kingdom? I'm any case I'm sure I'd love being at either park.
Disneyland has an Indiana Jones ride? You mean show, right?
What's the difference? I don't think I've ever been to either.
Anyone saying Land is better is an abomination.
Disneyland has an Indiana Jones Ride. It uses the same ride system that Dinosaur in Animal Kingdom uses, but Indiana is superior in every imaginable way
I'm dying to go to DisneySea.
What what what I must see this ride
Iger or Eisner?
I haven't been to Disneyland in 12 years and the itch is coming back strong. But im a 30 year old loser with no friends or significant other and the thought of going their alone makes me depressed enough to hang myself from the Robinson Curusoe tree house. Wat do?
Eisner
He might have had really huge mistakes but at least he wasn't all "IP HERE IP THERE IP EVERYWHERE"
I don’t think Iger made a single new non-ip ride at the US parks during his entire tenure. That alone puts him last
I live near Anaheim, so I’ve been to Disneyland plenty of times. I’ve only been to Disney World once. I’m going to say I prefer Disneyland, since I have a lot of memories there.
Speaking of Disneyland, anyone else here been to Club 33?
Based and Hulkpilled
I think that aside from changing the artifact he's looking for, it's the same.
Be aware, it's called Crystal Skull, but it has nothing to do with the movie, it was made years before as a coincidence.
We're whalers on the moon
The one Walt Disney is still alive in.
Do you not have any family? Most people I know who go to Disney Parks with their family. Got any siblings? Or your parents perhaps? Cousins?
>Saw Alice and Pan heckle captain hook last time I went to Land
This is why I love this place
no its a ride youtube.com
no have you?
going solo is kino
>nobody to tell you I dont wanna ride x or eat x for lunch or meet your stupid waifu
>single rider lines
Nigga how are you in one of these threads yet not know about the best ride in any of the parks
It really just depends on your circumstances. For most people it'll be World, for people within driving range of Land it makes more sense (logistics, convenience, etc).
It definitely feels like they are catering to completely different demographics with each park.
Can someone post the picture of Alice after tweedle Dee took off her shoe?
>no have you?
I have been there a few times.
Sega World.
oh wait
:(
Just go, dude. Going by yourself is great cause you can plan your day as you see fit without having to take other people into account. Plus, single rider is a thing.
Playing devil's advocate here, it's not really his fault since you goddamn well normalfags wouldn't give a big budget original ride a chance the same way they would eat up a GotG or Frozen ride.
LIterally the worst park. Shit shows, shit crowd management, shit merchandise, even safety is shit.
Counterpoint: Mystic Manor
If you tell me WDW or DL park guests wouldn't eat that up...
I.... I've never even considered going to Disney World.
Mystic Manor lured in crowds by seemingly being a haunted mansion clone as fast as I know. Once you're in the rides fun enough to keep you.
Diagon Alley was insane, I've no doubt Universal will hit it out the park again with NintendoLand.
That said, I'm really looking forward to Star Wars Land when I visit California Early December. 2nd least busy times of the year, I'm praying for sub 1hr queues...
World actually works out better value than DLP.
I managed a 2 week holiday for £800pp for two people, including car hire and park tickets. DLP works out at around £250pp for 2 nights with Ferry, Petrol, hotels and tickets.
DLP is probably not worth doing now until they open the Studios extention that doubles the parks size.
dollywood is shit >:(
Cedar Point is neat but you really have to keep in mind that the park is literally just coasters and nothing else. Theming is practically non-existant aside of some weird Snoopy attractions.
My roommate, who's sitting right next to me, has been to both and has photographic proof.
>£250pp for 2 nights with Ferry, Petrol, hotels and tickets.
Eh? I just came back and me and my girlfriend went for 5 days with Eurostar, stayed at Disney's Newport Bay, dining plan, tour of Paris and with park tickets and cost £380pp.
That ride might be coming to AK anyways
They still let characters roam around? In World at least I haven't seen characters roam around since I was a kid. Closest I've seen was Goofy standing on the side of the path outside of MuppetsVision/Star Tours, but he had a handler with him.
>Very soon northern parks open for the weekends
Feels good
correct and redbased
Tell me anons, have you attempted to drink your way around Epcot?
Also, do you believe Mission: SPACE deserves the negative stigma around it?
>I'm imagining 20+ minutes, which is more than I can handle
Lmao,. You've never been to a theme park full stop
>drink your way around epcot
yes but japan is my hangout while i'm there any time i go, so we always spend the most time there.
>mission space
yes it actually is that bad, and its kind of unfortunate because it is such a cool concept.
I really like Mission Space
My dad's always talked about spending a week at WDW and just going to Epcot and eating/drinking around all the restaurants in the World Showcase. Someday I'd like to help him with that.
youtube.com
I miss it.
>Epcot and MGM have stagnated
You seem unaware of recent developments
Shame Kodak banned Disney from building the Mt Fuji coaster..
Which are the best alternatives, for someone who hates disney, hates pixar, hates fox, hates national geographic, hates marvel and hates star wars?
I honestly don't understand why people hate Mission Space. It's awesome.
Six Flags?
Boring and makes you feel sick
Cedar Point
>due to an indefinite contract with Universal, Disney is barred from any Avengers, X-Men, Spider-man, or FF related images or attractions east of the Mississippi
feels good man. Disney shall remain pure as Disneyland is turned into marvel land
I went to Disney World as a little kid, like 1992-1996ish early. Went back in 2012
Then I went to Disney Land in 1998 during a trip to California
I've never been on the one in California but the Disney Sea ride is based on the same design I'm pretty sure, they just changed the storyline and added a crystal skull.
Disney Sea is great, five distinct areas with very good theming. My personal favorite is Captain Nemo's Mysterious Island and the Journey to the Center of the Earth ride.
Pretty much the same ride, yeah, albeit with a couple of subtle changes
>one path to crystal skull, which must be made in silence
>sputtering of the engine causes all hell to break loose
>a few musical cues missing or delayed
>part of the ride where the car stalls is replaced with a face-off with a stone face that spits a ring of smoke at the riders
I got a SoCall annual pass for under $400 back in August and I've gone at least half a dozen times, so I've gotten more than my money's worth. Blacked out dates for this particular pass (a cheaper downgrade from the regular one) are weekends, most of December, and all of June through August but if you live in SoCal then you'd want to avoid going on those dates like the plague anyways. My only regret is that Galaxy's Edge opens on the first day of my long summer black out, but that shit would be mercilessly packed anyways so whatever.
What do you like?
Before Disney became international
So before the parks opened? Yeah, I guess there'd be no lines for non-existent rides.
Not having fun? Literally the only good theme parks are Disney and Universal so you're better off going to some amusement park like Six Flags or a state fair
Disagree with the first and the second isn't really the ride's fault if people have motion sickness. It's a pretty novel experience, although it could do with a facelift
Six Flags is top tier for coasters though, only Rock N Rollercoaster and Hulk really compare to stuff like Nitro and El Toro
I like the alternatives
also for a long time ago I have an absolute hatred and repudiation to that shit Disney
You go to Disney/Universal for the theming and experience
You go to Cedar Fair/Six flags parks for the intense thrills
These interests can overlap or be completely different reasons people go to a park
>Great Adventure rides
You’re Mid-Atlantic too?
>20 so not yet
>Still better then IPcot
They're not the same thing? Didn't realise there were two things. What's the difference between them?
Land:
>Original Walt Park; only one he had a hand in design-wise
>West coast
>Two parks (original DL and California Adventure)
>Land-locked due to third parties buying up the land before Disney had the money/influence to beat them to the punch
Worl:
>Resort #2; finished post-Walt's death
>East Coast
>In hindsight of the aforementioned DL issue, built in the middle of open area for room for future expansions
>Multiple resorts on-property (Magic Kingdom, Disney Hollywood Studios, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and others)
My comparison of Disneyland/DCA vs WDW:
(been to WDW many times, went to DL last week)
Superior Aspects of Disneyland:
>Better Adventureland
>New Orleans Square is kino
>Characters roam around (especially in Fantasyland)
>Multiple flavors of Dole Whip
Superior aspects of WDW:
>Cinderella Castle shits on Sleeping Beauty Castle
>Kilimanjaro Safari, Expedition Everest
>Tower of Terror
>EPCOT's World Showcase
>More character meet n greets overall (not roaming around though)
I also found Disneyland to be far denser. This was both good and bad. Good because Disneyland has so many rides in a single park, but bad because rides like Haunted Mansion are 6 feet from "Critter Country," which kinda takes away from the atmosphere.
DCA was okay, but arguably the most poorly thought-out of all Disney Parks. "Grizzly Peak" was completely dead, and "Pacific Wharf" was barely anything at all.
Most informative. Cheers.
It definitely feels like they are catering to completely different demographics with each park.
Can you elaborate?
>Grizzly Peak was dead
Well no shit, they're refurbing GRR and there's nothing else to do over there if you are older than 10. Grizzly Peak is still the best themed land in the park without the rapids running, it's comfy as fuck in that area.
Shame you missed Paradise Pier, Pixar Pier feels cheap as shit in comparison. It was cool as fuck to look out at the top of California Screaming's peak hill at the rest of the park, and now they have the whole section covered in a damn tube.
Plan shit out and use Fast Pass, you hardly have to wait at all.
At least that was my experience, getting sent there for a school chorus thing at Christmas.
Tell me more about this Dole Whip.
The original Dole Whip is a pineapple soft-serve dessert. Friggin delicious.
Adventureland in WDW has the OG pineapple flavor (or as a float, with pineapple juice).
Disneyland's Adventureland has pineapple, raspberry, and orange. You can get any combo of those as a swirl.
DCA has a lemon-flavored one as well, which you can get at the Abominable Snow Monster's sno-cone stand.
DLR go during the weekday in off-season (Jan-May). The park is ridiculously empty, comfy even, until after 3pm when people get off work and decide to go to the park for a few hours. APs will fill out the park in the later day so if you're making it a fun affair do heavy-traffic rides like Indiana Jones or Space Mountain right in the morning. Snag a fast pass on the way out to double dip later on in case you're feeling it.
Remember that Fantasmic >>>>>>> World of Color so if Fantasmic is on then pick that show to watch. The Dragon Maleficent animatronic is cool as fuck.
That's fair. I enjoyed the Guardians rebrand, despite it killing off the theming of the Hollywood Tower, which is supposed to match the rest of the Hollywood section of the park. Are they planning to add more Marvel attractions near there?
Cars Land + Radiator Springs Racers were both good. The town of radiator springs is amazingly film accurate. So strange that Cars, of all Pixar Films, would get its own land.
I enjoyed Pixar Pier, though I had the same thought as you about the tubes covering the coaster. Great spot for character interactions though.
They recently bulldozed Bug's Land (the area between Guardians and Cars Land) with the intention of converting it into a marvel themed area. Among the stuff we know about is that they're getting their own Spider-Man attraction.
World, not even a close one
Central Jersey, there was a time in high school where me and the gang would hit up Six Flags every other week.
One time we went at opening when the forecast said it was gonna rain and there was nobody there. Had basically our own personal truck for the safari and watched my toes turn purple on Sky Screamer. The sky opened up and we'd planned ahead by stowing our valuables in ziplock baggies, so we didn't even try to stay dry. Eventually we decided to ride Skull Mountain until the rain stopped; they sent us through something like 17 times in a row without stopping.
The park closed early, so we rode Green Lantern on the way out while it was still drizzling. The raindrops were like razor blades, I tell you what.
Good times.
Also confirmed is an Ant-Man microbrewery, a Doctor Strange show, and a MASSIVE Avengers e ticket presumed to be some kind of quinjet coaster
Don't forget
Disneyland
>Superior Pirates of the Caribbean
>Superior Space Mountain
WDW
>Superior Haunted Mansion
>Superior Splash Mountain
Does anyone know why characters can roam in Disneyland and not Disney World?
>now they have the whole section covered in a damn tube
correct me if i'm wrong but weren't the tubes there before Pixar Pier?
Unless they added some more tube sections, yeah there were tubes on California Screamin'. Meant to muffle the screams so that it didn't spill over into Anaheim. Think they had to deal with something similar when they built Supreme Scream over at Knotts.
I was bored and decided to come up with the ultimate Magic Kingdom-style park. No land or budget constraints, just imagining the ultimate Disney theme park experience.
What would you add/remove/change?
>Ant-Man Microbrewery
>instead of flights, they have Infinity Gauntlet
>all of the beers on tap are named after MCU things
>I am Brut
>Whit-er Soldier
>Hoppy Hogan
>Black Widow (Russian Imperial Porter)
>Iron Man west coast IPA
>Rye of Agomotto
>Asgardian Mead
>Winter Warmer-chine
>the Infinity Gauntlet challenge is downing a shot for each of the stones in [X] amount of time
>> Yea Forums
>Gauntlet shaped flight board
>instead of 4oz taster pours, it's full size 12-16oz pours
>the beers are all fairly low ABV so no one is fucking smashed and vomiting at Disneyland
>if you can finish all 6 within the time limit and snap your fingers, the flight is free and you get a coupon for half-off any food item on the menu
Except all the non-IP rides still attract crowds of guests. The fact that people were livid that Tower of Terror, a ride that's more original than Twilight Zone thanks to its theming, was removed from Disneyland proves that there's still a demand. The fact that the Haunted Mansion has THE most dedicated fanbase of any ride enough to rival any Disney fandom is proof. There is a demand for original IPs if they have even the tiniest shred of effort put into them, but you know damn well they won't. Even the Guardians drop ride at Disneyland is a lazy paint job that took barely half a year to get up and running, and that's for one of their moneymakers. Iger set a terrible standard because he's proven that Disney doesn't have to do a fucking thing to get your cash as long as they flash a logo or a character here and there.
been to land 5 times, taking my nephew for the first time next month.
been to world 3 times, last time during Christmas.
been on the cruise to nassau twice.
I hate that you're right because 90s era tomorrowland with timekeeper and alien encounter was literally my favorite thing disney has ever done. It makes me so so sad that it's ruined.
My girlfriend is really wanting to plan a big disney world trip because she's never gone. For two people who don't care a whole awful lot about modern disney IPs is it even worth it? Hollywood studios seems entirely eaten by starwars and toy story at this point.
I'd say so, yeah. There are still some very good non-IP rides worth your time, and even if you're not a theme park guy, just walking around admiring the sheer depth of craftsmanship Imagineers put into the parks is pretty amazing.
bruh...
absolutely based, except I'd remove Spiderman
Yeah, once when I was about 10, parents won a spot from a silent auction. Funny thing is, they won it when I was like 8, the list is so full that we still had to wait that long just to be able to go.
Food is pretty good from what I've been told since I don't remember, I became friends with like five people in college who all worked at 33 for a while, and they've told me all the stories about having to serve celebrities and shit
is it kino?
its comfy af you pleb
>wdw has the superior mansion
senpai what no hatbox ghost and no actual decent on the stretching room
Anyone in here been to Tokyo Disneyland? Any tips? I'm going to Tokyo next year and I want to visit Disneyland for the first time. Do they sell tickets at the gates or do you have to order them from somewhere before hand?
Is there a New Super Disney Galaxy?
Or Super Disney Odyssey?
AS a WDW goer, I agree 100%. I've yet to go to DL, But I can see the upsides and pluses that DL has and wish WDW had them. One Aspect DL does really well is how utilizes land space well when adding in something new or what to take down and replace with something new. WDW has all this space and doesn't utilizes it well and also take down rides and replacing them with shittier rides rather than finding open spots to place the newer rides in.
As for OP's Question. DL I find to be more charming and more cohesive, but WDW has good options. If WDW were to follow some of DL's method's, WDW would blow many parks out of the water.
Also 80's EPCOT CENTER is awesome. HORIZONS for life!
Eisner. Though Eisner gradually got more and more corrupt and creatively bankrupt. Disney power hungriness did started with him entering as CEO. However, IGER is trash. Everything he has done terrible. Not a creative attempt in his body. Eisner at least tries.
Yeah, in WDW, characters aren't allow to walk around park like in DL, thus taking away the magic of it. Another down side to WDW compared to Land. If I remember correctly, the reason WDW doesn't allow this is because WDW is park that draws in larger amount of guest in and some are tourist from out of country (looking at you shitty Brazil), and when too crowded, there is possible potential of characters getting bump down or hurt or other hazards. DL is smaller with less crowds so the freedom of characters roaming around is more optional.
I don't think it deserve as much of a hate but I do think it pales as a ride compare to Horizons. Horizons is the one ride that represents and emphasizes what EPCOT Center future World was about. Horizons incorporated every aspect from all of the other future world pavilions
I think people Felt it was a lack-luster ride, as well as them taking down and replacing such a beloved attraction, Horizons with it.
was that ride really all that or is it just boomer nostalgia
Only thing I disagree with is Adventureland. Imo, I find WDW Adventureland to be more expansive and have more going for it. While yes, we don't have Indy ride, I think our Adventureland has a better flow of themeing in WDW. It starts off with Colonialism when entering in with colonialism buildings on the right side and exotic unknown jungle left. Then up ahead is tribalism with the Polynesian culture. The themeing made even more sense back then before Eisner shucked the horrible Magic carpet ride dead center.
to me, it mix of both. Horizons was a ride that kinda falls in line of the optimism vision of the future and what humanity could potentially achieve. It's something of a ride walt would love and would of made. I legit love the ride due to the set designs, the theme, message, and visual.
I think it had some fan following even back in 90's. These two guys (their youtube channel is Mesa Verde which has it all) even recorded every aspect of the ride and even jump out of their car seat to detail and document everything about the ride(one of few rides NOT to have security cameras or infra red laser to stop ride if guest jump out). It's not HM level Dedicated, but it DOEs have a strong fan following.
I gotta say Disneyland, not because it's the better park, but because fuck Florida's heat & humidity.
Iger is a fantastic CEO if you look purely financially because he makes calculated, safe decisions. But he doesn't possess a creative bone in his body. He is coasting on success instead of taking lucrative risks.
I can't believe I would ever miss Michael Eisner, but fuck me it's happened.
Uggh on Sleeping Beauty castle. Inferior princess, inferior movie.
This. Moving clockwise around the park gives off a sense of moving through time. From the first steps in exploration in Adventureland, to a better settled land in Frontierland, to colonialism at the square, to a 'modern' theme park with fantasy land, and finally to the future with tomorrowland.
Epcots Food and Wine festival >
You really got to appreciate what each CEO brings to the company. Eisner took risks & a lot of them were dumb (DCA), but so many of them really paid off (Disney Renaissance, Animal Kingdom). Iger is creatively bankrupt, but he has made huge economic strides.
>Florida's heat & humidity
going to Disney in the summer time is wack son
What made me hate Eisner in the first place is I live in Northern Virginia, and I was ass-deep in the Disney's America fight. Glad we won that one.
I mostly kept it cause it's the OG castle, but I'd imagine it being bigger and more grand looking. Plus, there could be an animatronic Maleficent dragon that comes out the top of the castle at night
Spiderman is the coolest Marvel hero though imo, and if it was a realistic Disney park, they're be at least one Marvel ride in it.
Yeah but WDW has the piano scene and the infinite staircases, plus the facade is nicer. While it doesn't have the descent (and thus the screen for the stretching room bounces a bit when it reaches the top), everything else about it is better. I do agree though, they need to bring the Hatbox Ghost over to WDW.
He seemed to lack hindsight. People who vacation in D.C. would have scoffed at the synthetic commercialized interpretation of American history while the Northern location would mean the park would be inoperable half of the year. Though frankly you were all a bunch of whiny NIMBYs & it appears that urbanization/gentrification came to the area anyways (like the Amazon headquarters).
This post is fucking incredible
Neither.
I hate crowds so they both sound hellish to me.
The virgin Ducks vs the chad Lightning.
Also stale as fuck
?
Paris. Not sure why it got removed unless it was by choice.
>gentrification
There's nothing being gentrified in NoVA because 50 years ago there was bloody nothing here. Everything being built is from scratch.
Is there any word on when the DLP revamp will be completed?
They haven't even confirmed all the attractions being added yet.
Neither. Must be awesome to be a kid in USA will all those parks.
Has property value skyrocketed far more than the rest of America? What would you call that?
Has the area had a population boom?
>You have to pay for the whole thing first
>Actual Infinity Gauntlet, can bend the fingers, ect
>Designed to hold the glasses
>You have to drink them in order Thanos collected them
>Challenge is complete when you down the mind stone and snap your fingers beside your head
>If you do it right you get half the cost back
You get a free meal if you say it cost you everything after
The "First Phase" will be done in 2021 and the whole revamp will be finished in 2025.
Also I just found out they're hosting a fucking Dota 2 tournament at Disneyland Paris next month.
What kind of changes will be made?
The Galaxy's Edge Star Wars land is gonna be added to Studios Park at some point.
>is it kino?
It is, actually. When you first go inside, you can take an old-fashioned elevator up to the restaurant. They also have small versions of the Haunted Mansion paintings hanging on the walls. It’s all very quaint.
The best part is that when my family would go, there was maybe only one other family there at a time. So it was a nice break from the crowds and noise outside.
What else? Are they going to change Discoveryland?
>free meal at disney
never
is the food as good as you would think?
When is Nintendo Land meant to come out, and how long until Universal realises what a gold mine that they have and expand it greatly?
Disney Studios is to have the unthemed movie studio bit completely change into a marvel land.
Confirmed attractions are Pym Labs, Doctor Strange (one of which is probably a show), Avengers coaster (Rock N Roller Coaster retheme), not confirmed but shown in the promo art (with the logo remove) is the Spider-man ride from CA.
It's getting a Frozen Land (Frozen Ever after and I'd guess a themed restaurant and/or a flat), Star Wars Land, a night time lake show and there are hints at a Cars land in a mysteriously empty portion of land to the right of the lake.
Disney Village (think a really low budget Downtown Disney) is getting flattened and replaced with something closer to Disney Springs. Hopefully they'll do something about the asylum seekers selling tat on the walk from the carparks to the parks...
jeez you made World sound worse
That is dumb. One of the worst things Disney can do is theme an entire section of a park after a single, unserialized IP. I know Cars & Frozen are parts of series now, but they are still extremely limited than say Marvel or Star Wars.
Disney just had no idea what to do about the studio parks, did they?
For those not familiar with Disney Studios
This is incredible. I am in true awe before this post.
You underestimate how shitty Disney Studios was, this is a massive upgrade. The park in it's current state is terrible, especially since it's losing exclusivity on Ratatouille (which is a pretty mediocre Spiderman clone)
They're keeping the terrible tram tour that takes up a shit load of land for some reason. You too can see the sets of Dinotopia and Reign of Fire, alongside from Pearl Harbor props, all whilst you get commentary from Jeremy Irons and some French cougar who chat on some comically dated brick phones.
IPs only make the two studios parks nominally better, but they really don't belong with the theming/overall concept. It's like Barnes & Noble selling toys to compensate for lost book revenue.
youtube.com
>have a bunch of neat ideas
>ruin the story by making if half in French
>that shitty 10 minute fistfight at the end
>Marvel stunt show
>5 minute segment where Peter Parker silently does gymnastics to a radical rock soundtrack
Why is this a recurring theme? This is in literally like every live-action Marvel stage show ever.
"how can we show him learning his powers without much dialogue in a few minutes in a 'cool' way"
next year before the Olympics for toyko
>french in paris is bad
This.
I'd have to cross the border to a different country just so I could even go to an amusement park.
Do the show in French or do the show in English. The way they alternate the language so you miss half of it is terrible.
Ratatouille manages the two language issue in a fairly smart way. The dialogue is largely question: answer, character A asks a question with an obvious answer in one language, Character B answers it in a way that makes the question obvious.
"We should run Away right?"
"yeah, running away would be a good idea"
Is the 3D Spiderman ride in Orlando still the single greatest ride to ever exist or has my 6 year old memory lied to me?
many people still think so and they redid the ride film in hd 4k a few years back
was aladdin in dca the most kino show in park history?
I liked it, but it has some great competition from the Mummy and Harry Potter.
Compared to the rest of the park? I’d say so. It’s been a long time since I’ve been there. They also have a small buffet area with seafood, bread, desserts, fruits, salads. The real draw is the atmosphere and exclusivity, I’d say.
>most kino show
og tiki room surely? Or maybe Terminator. I'm a fucking sucker for the "pre-show" stuff.
It's still the best application of the tech, best balance of practical and screens.
Always been too much of a coaster wuss to do the Mummy but looking at a lights on for the Hollywood version it looks like it's pretty much drop free (hate losing my stomach) . Heard it's kinda shitty compared to the Orlando version mind.
>harry potter

ET although that could get closed any day now that the parents of the kid who got his foot cut off in there a few weeks ago are going to sue.
Disney Hong Kong.
>tfw never been to Universal
>missed out on some of the biggest rides that will never come back now
>never saw Bill and Ted's Halloween event
>probably won't see BttF before it's gone
I'm suffering
bttf has been closed for over 10 years
>probably won't see BttF before it's gone
Hasn't it been gone for ages?
If you do manage to get to the second park, you'll only discover it's completely identical to the first one. They use portal technology to link California to Florida. There is really only one park.
Wait...what. Shit, I was afraid of that.
Think they actually saved the foot, it was just horribly mangled. It's a weird accident, you would have thought if it were possible, it wouldn't have taken 20 years to happen.
I think ET stays because it traps people. Everyone thinks there won't be much of a queue until they get inside...
BTTF was great, it's a real shame it's gone. The Simpsons ride is... ok. The biggest problem is that they didn't replace the projector so it's a blurry mess (the clean lines don't do it any favours).
Men in Black is probably the next ride to go (although it could just get an update), it's never busy and it feels isolated.
epcot is highly overrated its basically a big ass mall with a few rides
Take a look at that Paradise Pier picture, the tubes block the side that looks out at Katella and Santa Ana. The side is open looking into the park and the tubing starts at the very top of the main hill. Compare/contrast with Incredicoaster's tubes.
>going to california adventure in December
>Spider-man ride won't be anywhere near being finished
Bit of a pisser.
How do you get to join?
Forbidden Journey already needs a facelift I think. The screens are just too low res for how close you get to them, the dragon looks worse than anything in Spider-Man. Everything else about it is pure kino though.
MiB, definitely. I love Buzz but you can't beat all the animatronics in MiB.
they havnt started on it yet
Accidents rarely get rid of rides, unless maybe a death.
Like, two kids lost their legs on a ride in England, and they just closed it until the next season.
Just found this in my old stuff. I want to go back.
if doing universal solo is there any point in getting express or are the single rider lines good enough?
>Check out some videos on Diagon Alley
>Looks gorgeous, as expected
>Check out footage of the Gringotts ride and the Hogwarts Express ride between the parks
>The original actors for Harry, Ron and Hermione didn't reprise their roles
>The impersonators they got are absolute trash
What the fuck happened? Did they run out of money to look for decent impersonators?
It's them, it just uses archive audio. The REALLY bad impersonators are on the Hogwarts Express, I'm pretty sure Jen Hale is voicing Hermione.
Also, why is the preshow with Domnhall Gleeson so bad? He's an amazing actor yet in Gringotts it sounds like he's reading all of his lines at gunpoint.
And there's also this weird part where he's like "Weasley's Wildfire Whizbangs, compliments of my friend's brother, George", but George is his brother??? Did they just miss that, despite the autistic attention to detail they applied to everything else in the park?
Haven't they shown off a new animatronic that does stunts that is totally Spiderman? They haven't said what it was for but it swung from what looked like webs
They're on the broomstick ride which is weird (the preshow too), but on the train it's 3D models of the actors with impersonations (though I think Ron has his real voice?) I felt bad cause my girlfriend is a huge HP fan and I feel it ruined the immersion a bit.
I didn't notice the error with George, though.
This.
I remember that but from what ive heard spiderman is gonna have guns like toy story
Don't do single rider for either Harry potter ride. You barely save time and you miss out on the awesome queue theming
>You barely save time
Depends, you can definitely save time with the castle.
>tron isnt a dueling/racing coaster with1 orange side and 1 blue side
dont get me wring the ride were getting looks fun but I just feel you could do more
You fucking kidding? Iger. Eisney almost killed Disney
Shanghai Disneyland is pretty cool. Too many people though.
Iger killed the parks though
Cedar Point is an amusement park with overpriced brand-name food. A slushie & Chik-Fil-A nuggets were like $10 each, & that was ten years ago.
He took a company with 200 million annual revenue and took it to 2 billion annual. He almost "killed" the company he built pleb.
Glad to see World Showcase's pleb filter is still operational.
Best Disney thrill rides:
(overall thrill + theming)
>1. Expedition Everest
>2. Tower of Terror
>3. Space Mountain
POWER GAP
>4. Tower of Rocket Raccoon
>5. Rock N' Rollercoaster
>6. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
>7. Radiator Springs Racers
POWER GAP
>8. Matterhorn Bobsleds
>9. Incredicoaster
>10. Test Track
Even with all the IP shit seems like Epcot might still have a chance to still be Epcot after all
Is Everest really that good? Even woth the busted Yeti? I'm debating riding it next trip but I'm a wuss with rollercoasters.
Yeah, the new Land movie that's going full nature documentary instead of a cartoon tie-in they announced last week was a pleasant surprise.
Indiana Jones needs to be #1. it was marketed as a thrill ride, and it's certainally not a dark ride.
>I think ET stays because it traps people. Everyone thinks there won't be much of a queue until they get inside...
ET will stay because Spielberg loves it and will have a shitfit if they close in it both US parks. One of the promises they made to get him to help design it was that they'd never close it for something flashier and he was furious when Hollywood closed theirs.
>BTTF was great, it's a real shame it's gone.
They closed it because 2015 came and went and it's not nearly as exciting as the ride makes it look. Even Universal Studios Japan, which kept the ride the longest, eventually turned off the clocks in the vehicles because the "Future" date was only a year away and then had past.
The ride is still awesome even without the Yeti, although the fact that they made such a costly mistake should be unforgiveable.
Still hoping the SE revamp is a good one.

>“Awesome Planet,” an on-screen exploration of the realm we call home, showcases the spectacular beauty, diversity and dynamic story of our earth with all the grandeur guests have come to expect.
>With spectacular nature photography, immersive in-theater effects, and space sequences created by none other than Industrial Light & Magic (which provided the cinematic foundation for the Star Wars franchise), “Awesome Planet” will stir Epcot guests and deliver an environmental message that will resonate far beyond its final scenes.
Go during the weekdays in the off season and be sure to stay at a Disney resort. If you stay on top of Fast Passes and maximize Extra Magic Hours, you won't wait long for anything.
The longest wait we had when went in January was maybe 30 minutes because we were at Epcot after close and there wasn't much to do.

>Mfw drinking a stein of beer waiting to get on the Frozen ride
Thanks. Hope its not preachy.
Just was at WDW a week ago, went to MK and Epcot. I have been going for years but changes need to be made. Space Mountain has to be my biggest issue. The ride is so jittery, I don't know if that can ever be fixed. Like Test Track they need a singles line. There's no excuse why I saw empty seats. They even have a sign to ask a cast member if you're a party of one, if you can find a cast member. They need to bring back the glow in the dark ride vehicles, they have a fucking video looping of the old ride from like the 90s. Maybe when Tron is done Space Mountain will get some work.
Mission Space needs new screens, in HD, or maybe VR. Same could be said for Soarin, it be perfect for VR. This can be optional though.
CG Figment looked so outdated. Imagination needs a phase 4 with some Dream Finder
I did Tom Sawyer Island for the first time, pretty neat, and the picture I took of the Haunted Mansion.
Also worst ride I did was Nemo, though the aquarium was pretty neat.
>2019
>An IP attraction gets replaced by a original one
Am I dreaming this seems to be a miracle
wait a second what the fuck is that
>The mansion actually is haunted
And suddenly I'm reminded of a couple things that are supposedly there that I've always wanted to see
>figure walking inside the mansion facade
>lightning rod atop the Tower of Terror
I know the second one is legit, but I've always been curious about the first.
skeeto?
>>figure walking inside the mansion facade
is it like an intended effect or is it one of those "spooky ghost stories" like the "mystery cast member who goes by on a doom buggy and then doesn't come out the other side"?
personally i believe urban legends and ghost stories about the haunted mansion are made by disney to keep up the themeing of it being spooky
someone please tell me that's not something scary and it's just something normal happening
Eisner was exactly what Disney needed at the time, but his obsession with being seen as a New Walt and his lassiez faire attitude towards the integrity of their animated films eventually negated his legacy.
He was sure HE was the only one who could run Disney, until he didn't.
Well there was a crew up there. Actually there's a second person in the image, right above that planter. While he's impossible to see he's actually wearing a neon yellow vest.
Frank Wells
why would they do that during the day when there's guests?
The former, though less of a figure and more like a faint glow meant to look like someone/thing with a candle was moving past the windows.
huh. that's a neat effect, i've never seen it as far as i can remember though
Based and Schizopilled
as a former CM that has been to both parks
this is some of the best copypasta i've seen in a long time, thanks user
wait a second, that's not a worker in a vest, you can clearly see the "yellow" is from the planter on that balcony and the "arm" is a tree branch
THERE'S A FAT SHIRTLESS GHOST ON THE BALCONY
what the fuck is what?
any number of reasons. everything is breaking in the parks at all times, and if you can fix a thing and get it going again for the guests before the day is done, all the better.
I grew up on the east coast so we went to disney world for our vacations. I went to disneyland for the first time a couple years ago and was just floored by how lame it was in comparison. They're both great and great experiences but if you don't have kids, Disneyland is the worse option of the two. It's very much more catered to young children than WDW is and we spent more time in our hotel because of it, which also, is a disappointment because none of the hotels come close to WDW resorts.
DL has a lot of limitations of what they can do because WDW has way better land in terms of escape from noise ordinances and what not.
It's worth a visit just once since, well, it DID come first and if you're a Disney geek that makes it worth it, but if you're just planning a disney vacation and have a choice between the two, go to WDW. They're both around the same price as someone living in the midwest to travel and stay at for a week. At least at WDW you won't run out of things to do as an adult.
Also don't go in the summer like I did. Heat isn't worth it and it's a million times more crowded than if you go in the off season.
I'm currently planning my trip to WDW (second time ever planning a vacation) and i had to weigh the two between one another and WDW just has better options in terms of saving too
>has a meal plan which, if you're like me and food is a big experience of a vacation for you, is so worth it. You can have a $60 dinner every night per person and not worry about it.
>Has some budget hotels that are still disney owned and give the resort benefits
>magic bands! These are super cool to me and you only get them at WDW
>world showcase has always been my favourite part
Also didn't DL take out the tower of terror to put in Pandora? That's my favourite ride ever so for me, going and not getting to ride that was one of the deciding factors for me.
WDW has Pandora, but they didn't put it in place of Tower of Terror. DL had their ToT turned into a Guardians of the Galaxy ride (complete with it's own Halloween overlay), which will soon be integrated into a Marvel themed land that just started construction.
Former CM, been to both US parks dozens of times, world far more than land.
Major Differences:
Land has the history and much better maintenance, and a better Pirates. More rides in a compact area, so less walking/park hopping. Where some attractions break down and have animatronics broken for years, Land will get shit fixed relatively quickly. Unless it's Muppetvision. But that's kinda the exception.
Disney World has an arguably better Haunted Mansion, (No faces in trees just before graveyard or "I DO!" pop up ghosts, but a couple of additional rooms and scenes) and a lot more shit to see and do, but the upkeep is not up to par.
The reason is that something like 80% of Disneyland guests are local annual passholders who go whenever, and 80-90% of World guests are from out of town only visiting once or twice every decade or so. The average World guest doesn't notice when the bird on expedition everest isn't moving up and down, where Land is flooded with complaints the second that one of the tiki room birds stops flapping it's beak.
I never thought about the differences between world and land's space mountains, never been a huge fan of the ride as I grew up on the super jittery World version that yanks you about uncomfortably. If I ever get back to world I'll be sure to check it out.
...Also I should let you guys know something I heard from someone who does ride/show maintenance at the parks. Buzzy was never lost He was taken off his pedestal years ago.
Deal is Disney is not on great terms with Garner/Holt, and older garner/holt animatronics get cannibalized for parts all the time. Such was the fate of Captain Buzzy.
Also Tim Tracker and a bunch of youtubers are actually paid by disney to promote stuff, and 90% of leaks are intentional, but the latter's kind of an open secret.
How would people react if Disney stopped offering an annual pass, particularly for California's Disneyland?
Tim trackers been on the Disney payroll for awhile I bet
Halloween is a busy time, my dude. Disney is becoming fuller during the entire year. The best times to go are August/September when kids are back into school but the holidays champions (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas) have yet to set in.
I've been twice. Once to the old location next to Pirates when I was like 12-14 and a second time in the new location closer to the jewelry shop when I was 20.
The food is as good as any other upscale fancy restaurant outside of the park but it tastes better because it's exclusive and the atmosphere makes you feel like it should be that tasty.
They no longer have the appetizer/dessert buffet at the new location. I remember getting some salmon flowers with roe on top and a little chocolate grey stuff dessert there. Such a shame.
Tim Tracker isn't on the Disney payroll fuck off. At most he gets freebies. You think his vlogs, which hit sub 500k at most warrant their attention?
I have a question. Which Disney castle can last longer if it was attacked?
The original Sleeping beauty, no contest. It's small, therefore harder to hit, has been refurbished and fortified like a motherfucker, and has its own fireblast launcher installed on the roof.
Tokyo Disneyland is Earthquake proof.
Imagine having a job where you just know every guy looking at you is imagining bending you over and going in raw
oh quit being an edgelord and just answer the question
Land personally. Has a longer pirates of the carribean ride, matterhorn mountain, and indiana jones.
So's Disneyland's fag
Six Flags and Busch Gardens.
Buzzy was marked for the Archives though.
He got a free cruise
Busch is kino all the best rides plus celtic fyre and good food

What is it about Land's PotC that makes it better? I'd think they'd be about the same, unless Land ignored movie stuff and people preferred that.
Why yikes?
This is going to be terrible. There's no way you'll get good photos out of this.
You have to wait on a list, as well as pay a rather high amount. The wait lasts years.
My family only got in because my dad was pretty high up at Boeing at the time, and I think membership was one of his perks.
Lands is longer and has more lore/detail. The original version of it is the best.
...
>He doesn’t enjoy his local park
The space Galaxy's Edge is going into has had ideas tossed around for it since the 1970s. The most well known of these ideas was Discovery Bay, a steampunk land that spent twenty years in a revolving door of being cancelled and un-cancelled because one of the headliners was based on Island at the Top of the World, a film that ended up flopping hard, but since some of Discovery Bay's ideas ended up in Paris, the thought of bringing that stuff to America sounded like a decent idea in the 90s.
Other things pitched for northern Frontierland included Geyser Mountain, the Land of Legends containing Western River Expedition and some American Folktales rides, and as transitional points into Fantasyland, Dumbo's Circus and the Land of Oz.
Discovery Bay included:
>Island at the Top of the World dark ride
>Nautilus simulator and restaurant
>Fireworks Factory shooter ride
>A boat ride journeying through a lost world of prehistoric beasts
>Professor Marvel's Gallery of Wonders, a Carousel theater show starring characters that would be recycled into Figment and Dreamfinder.
>Spark Gap Coaster, roller coaster through Discovery Bay's Tesla-esque power plant
Idea was that this was all built by an inventor who managed to get the gold out of Big Thunder Mountain and moved to the northern California coast and they had pitched a miniseries to tell the backstory. Besides Disneyland Paris's Discoveryland and Journey into Imagination, a lot of the ideas ended up at Tokyo DisneySea and the Society of Explorers and Adventurers lore they've been pushing in the parks lately.
Lost world ride concept that showed up on eBay last week. This version was called "Journey to Mythica", though there's another attraction concept with that basic idea floating around using the Primeval World dinosaurs called "Lost River Rapids"
Brag I love kings island I'd take diamondback over pretty much anything ride wise

To elaborate a little more, you're essentially replacing a person with a glorified photobooth. A person can use their instincts to get great pictures both before you pose and during the posing. A robot can't use that same instinct of when to capture the shots so you're more likely to have pics where kids look terrible or just awkward as they're interacting with the character. Plus you know photopass photographers will probably be laid off and that sucks.
Only ever been to Cedar Point, but it's more for teens/adults since it's 90% coasters. Been a few years but last time I went we road the Magnum like 4 times in a row, with all the newer coasters no one cared but the Magnum is still good to me.

I wish we got that. We just need the same passion about space we had in the 50's and 60's in general.
Sucks that DLP had so little spent on it for so long and Discoveryland is now a bit of a disjointed, oddly empty mess. They've cleaned it up and restored it a bit but it'll never get back to how it was.
When I went it had an empty theare and Videopolis, which used to have live dinner shows, was stuck showing a 2 minute.
One of my fond Disney memories was taking my granddad to DLP, watching a cool acrobatic show and my granddad being moved to tears and giving a 1 man standing ovation (he'd had a heavy stroke 5 years before that left him physically fine with his memories intact but gave him the emotional range of a 6 year old).
>they got rid of Darkastle
Are you serious? That shit was awesome. What the hell did they replace it with?
Ever since Disney bought out Disneyland Paris a year or two ago the place has not as good as it does now since 1992. They are investing tons which I’m very pleased with. Disneyland’s Indiana Jones dark ride is coming soon to Adventureland. I wanted the Moana Splash Mountain that was proposed but got beaten by Indy for being cheaper which was annoying though.
>free cruise
Damn, Disney cruises are pretty expensive.
That said, my brother got to go on an inaugural sailing of one of the Disney Cruise ships for free because a friend had worked on it and had a spare invite for the event.
Nothing really they use it for event space and a haunt
I guess they just didn't wanna pay for the upkeep even tho there open till Christmas now so logically you would want to have something people can ride year round
They could easily do a family VR meet and greet but that’s probably getting slapped into wreck it ralph
Yeah, I went November-ish. I've got to give them credit for cleaning the park up and getting it back up to Disney Quality.
I've been when the park was at it's absolute worst about 3 years ago when Ratatouille opened. Everything was grey and dirty looking, paint was peeling everywhere, they had bare scaffolding with a guy in regular overalls painting during park opening hours, Star Tours had a broken monitor, one of the seats was covered in warning tape and it took ages to start because of a broken seat belt sensor.
That said, the park still has a way to go. I think I counted 4 empty theatres in total, the food selection is the worst of any Disney park (although the tex mex buffet I had was unexpectedly great) and Disney Land hasn't had a new ride in far too long. Indiana Jones would be a great addition, especially if they upgraded it. They've always been reluctant to add a log flume to DLP, ever since they scrapped the idea for a Pocohontas one, due to Paris having cool weather a lot of the year.
I'm tempted to do a solo trip to DLP once the Hollywood studios expansion opens. I want to do all the kids rides and I'm tired of going to these parks with people too embarassed to do half the rides in the park.
>tfw The Void that has the great VR Star Wars and WiR things will never get a fully interactive VR Tron experience
Wonders of Life is Wreck it Ralph land now isn't it?
Wonder if they'll do anything with the two ride areas.
Yes and no. Like the replacement's "Play City" is a blatant copy of Wreck-It Ralph's internet and serving as a catch-all IP zone, but it's not a straight up "The Wreck-It Ralph Land".
Sorta like how Test Track got a Tron makeover without an actual IP tie-in.
>wreck it Ralph gets its own land
>based on the second movie
MONKEYS PAW
Pretty neat stuff about Animal Kingdom with the fantasy concept.

vr meet and greet would be weird
i think they should just have qourra
anyone /legoland/ here?
The ride selection is really really weird for the theme. Suspect it's Merlin cheaping out and getting whatever rides cost the least.
For the Lego Movie world that is. Looking at that you wouldn't think it's meant to be themed around either of the movies .
I'll never not be upset over the loss of Beastly Kingdom and Muppet Studios
That's because outside the Soarin' clone, it's a retheme of a Chima land, whose main attraction was an outdoor water gun boat ride.
Honestly the Play Pavilion has a stronger Synthwave aesthetic.
how is that not clearly based around the movies?
>Disneyland’s Indiana Jones dark ride is coming soon to Adventureland
Holy shit when did they announce this? That's fucking great, I've always wanted to ride it.
Doesn't Universal still have the rights? And it doesn't fit thematically.
Plus, if you're the same user:
>What would you add/remove/change?
Don't ask if you don't want to hear the answer.
In Florida. Disney has full usage of Marvel everywhere else.
I've been there like 3-4 times. My parents worked at a hospital (they weren't doctors or anything) and made friends who were members there so we got there. Each time I was so young that I can't even remember what it was like. All I remember is that they had a bunch of white chocolate that I pretty ate exclusively. It wasn't until later that I knew it was a super special place and I was confused when everyone wondered what it was like
Bullshit, my entire family's been to both.

Photopass here. As we were told no one is getting laid off, in fact we're still actively hiring and accepting more college program kids. Yes we're all worried that eventually they will replace us all but that's a long time from now.
Also EVERYONE hates the boxes. Performers, attendants, and photopass alike. As far as I've heard guests love it for some reason
do you know where there going next?
also ive not seen a single positive thing about them anywhere
also which park do you work at?
Not specifically, but no one is telling us anything.
What my leaders HAVE told us is that they are getting good results. Of course for them the only thing that counts as "results" is pure profit on the posed photos, no fun candids or anything.
Animal Kingdom
As an aside I was told in no uncertain terms to stop complaining about the Boxes, they are here to stay and I don't get paid enough to have any impact on the decision so there is no point being negative about them. Also do your best to quell any negative conversations you hear about them.
>do your best to quell any negative conversations you hear about them
this is creepy and how are you supposed to do that ?
ive got a fresh meme for you tho
which spots in ak are the best to work ?
to work? Discovery Island or Dinoland. Anywhere else is a hellhole. For pictures the best spot for the Tree is in Africa near the smoking section along the river. No one behind you like at the entrance of the park
ive got a really good one of me infront of the tree at the entrance tho also I dont think ive ever seen anyone back there
also why are all those spots hellholes heat?
you first, faggot
I really wish Universal would re-theme Marvel Superhero Island to something like classic Universal monsters even though the Dark Universe cinematic franchise was dead on arrival
Hulk could be re-skinned as Frankenstein's monster. Dr Doom could be reworked as Igor or the Invisible Man. Throw something silly or Wolfman-related for Storm Force, and then Spiderman could be a 3-D Van Helsing ride or something.
That's a kino idea but you know Universal would never drop Marvel unless they legally had to
Good concept but SHI is a pure 90s time capsule untainted by movie stuff
And I love it so much for that. It's vurtually the same as my childhood but better with the ride upgrades they gave Spider-man and Hulk.
I hear Universal Monsters is gonna be one of the Fantastic Worlds lands.
I know. It's too bad. The prospect of making cash from un-discerning fans is more important than artistic integrity.
The more I think about it, the more I like the idea. Superhero Island is already sandwiched between the kiddy Seuss Landing and Toon Lagoon. Especially since the Lost Continent and Dueling Dragons got gutted, it would be neat to have some spooky, European architecture.
Van Helsing could be housed in a facade Dracula's castle. And all the costumed characters could be the monsters.
>gonna be drinking blue/green milk in the hot Florida sun in just a few months
It’s gonna be a shitshow, but I’m still excited, lads.
As an east-coaster who'd only been to WDW, Indiana Jones was a great surprise. I had no idea it was there until I went.
The queue theming is great, and so is the lore. The ride itself malfunctioned the first time I rode it
>the part with the boulder rolling toward you as you back up wasn't working.
The second time everything was working though, and it was a great ride both times. I found that riding in the back row allowed me to appreciate more of the details of the temple.
I also like that Indy and Dinosaur (WDW's equivalent) have very different feels, because Indy is so open and cavernous, while Dinosaur is close-quarters scramble through the prehistoric forest.
Indy is definitely the superior ride. Dinosaur needs some upgrades.
>Star Wars theme park area
>All this deep interactivity
>New unique attracts with multiple segments and being able to actually control the fucking Falcon
>It's based on Nu-Wars
Monkey paw got me again
paid disney shills
we already know Yea Forums is rife with them, so it's no surprise.
>The Jurassic world coaster is going to probably have minimal themeing and dinosaurs
>While Harry Potter gets "The most heavily themed coaster ever at universal"
I'm so sick of Harry Potter getting all the love, especially when Jurassic is by far their best moneymaker right now.
I really hope that, once the sequel trilogy is finished, the land (and Disney Parks treatment of Star Wars in general) can become era-nutral.
There's no reason why we shouldn't see Clone Troopers, Galactic Empire Stormtroopers, and First Order Stormtroopers at varying points throughout the day at Galaxy's Edge.
If Star Tours can show love to all 3 eras, why can't the rest of it?
come to think of it, do we have any proof disneyland even exists? what if it's just disney paying people to act like there's this wonderful amusement kingdom?
>Jurassic is by far their best moneymaker
false
Don't worry, it's not real milk
Have you looked at the box office returns, their merch and video game sales? I do not see HP doing anywhere near it's numbers.
I'm hoping Galaxy's edge has some sort of Dole Whip. Green or blue would be cool.
Hollywood Studios in WDW is the only park without Dole Whip
Because Galaxy's Edge is designed with Canon in mind while the current Star Tours is literally the result of George going "Fuck canon, it's Disneyland, this shit doesn't matter".
That being said, Galaxy's Edge was designed to be modular and able to change as Star Wars goes on. And with the Sequel Trilogy's derivative nature, that lends itself to being easy to reskin as Original Trilogy down the line.
It's Universals biggest IP at their parks, and moves a shitload of merch that they don't have to split the profits with.
Yeah, that was my thought as well. Can you imagine how sick it would be to finally see Clone Trooper armor in real life, instead of shitty CGI?
Neither. Fuck Disney.
so what castles are at each park?
I wanna go visit Prince Eric's castle and King Triton's castle
neither.
>say it’s an immersive experience
>can’t milk it fresh from an alien teat
Blunder of the century
Neither, theme parks are only great if you are a kid. I am not going to waste my money and time waiting on lines to ride shit. I rather visit a national park and go on hike.
You can do both. National parks can definitely give you thrills when you're 10,000 feet straddling a mountain. But Disney has its perks. There's no national park with a space mountain for example.
>Toy Story Land is a shitty half baked land that's already falling apart
Still kinda happy I get to say I was there for the soft opening though
when is the nintendo world suppose to open up at universal?
Yep, There was a time when Hook and Smee wanted to take the Sword in front of the carousel but so did the Evil Queen so it was just an argument till both left in a huff.
Is anything at Universal actually owned by them? They must pay out a shit ton of royalties.
>Simpsons Ride
Disney
>Marvel
Disney
>Transformers
Hasbro
>Harry Potter
Warner Bros
>Spongebob/Nickelodeon
Viacom
>Hello Kitty
Sanrio
>Betty Boop
Viacom
>Popeye
Warner Bros
>Dr Seuss Library
His family..?
Then you have the subsidiaries like Dreamworks for Shrek 4D, Illumination for the Seuss films, NBC for Jimmy Fallon and the like even though they are owned by Universal they still need their cut.
Next year for Japan, 2021 for Hollywood, potentially 2021 for Florida as well but it's most likely to open around 2022 with the new park.
>Disney is hyping up how they've literally made real lightsabers you can build and buy in the park
>Patent leaks seem to indicate something like an LED strip that can retract completely into the hilt
>So we finally get a lightsaber where you don't need to flick it, can retract it fully into the hilt, complete with lights
>Only 14 people are allowed in the shop at a time, because it's partially a show like Ollivanders
>Hilt is $109
>Blade is $50 extra
ow the edge, let me guess, you love star wars episodes 4-6?
Stormtroopers will wander studios still sometimes when it’s slower. Belle and Aurora will sometimes walk a kid away from their respective meet and greet areas, and walk around the France Pavilion.
But yeah people are too crazy to let them really wander anymore.
I've never been and I want to go, esecially to Galaxy's Edge, but I'm too self-aware to go on my own.
>Be a kid at the Star Wars hotel
>Pay a premium price for extra immersion
>Go to the milk stand in Galaxy's Edge
>"But I thought Luke milked it from the alien in the movie?"
>Cast member give you a knowing look and scans your magic band
>Sees that you've paid for the full Star Wars experience
>Invites you behind a curtain off to the side of the stand
>Inside is a Twi'lek with huge tiddies
>Licking her lips, she puts her hand on your shoulder
>Guests outside can just barely here "ara ara" over the John Williams ambiance
reminds me of that video of Peter Pan and the Evil Queen where Peter is childish taunting her and the Queen is implying /ss/
Welp, now I have an idea what to prioritize. The droid shop. I want my fuckin' take-home RX droid.
>Haha, what an edgelord, I bet you like GOOD movies, FAGGOT!
>>Spongebob/Nickelodeon
>Viacom
Do you mean the store? That's not really a ride
Been hearing conflicting reports on the sabers and that the expensive price tags cited are actually for the "Historical Character Lightsabers" being sold at Dok Ondar's.
>The droids react to everything around them
>You can program them to be afraid of Stormtroopers and they'll freak out if you go to a Stormtrooper meet and greet
I really don't want these things to just be gaywad tchotchkes that have no function outside the parks, because they sound fucking awesome.
>implying i said episodes 4-6 weren't good
>implying disney has never made a good movie
admit it, you're just a salty little star wars fan who's mad about episodes 7 and 8 so you hate the entirety of disney for no real reason
I really hope that's the case. Because I get they want that Wizarding World money, but they're asking literally $100+ more than what Uni asks for wands. It'd be classic modern Disney scummery if they hyped up how amazing this park is gonna be, especially for the kids, only to have literally everything but the food, rides, and tee-shirts be completely out of their price range.
I'm expecting it to be expensive for these deluxe blades, but $160 is fucking insane, that's like the price of an actual custom made sword that you use for actual armed combat, not a toy you buy and swing at shit in a theme park.
i hope i can install a port where i can fit in a fleshlight
It used to be and they still use Spongebob as a walk around character and in the parades and still need to pay a license to use the character on merchandise.
I wasn't even that guy, I just like stirring the pot. And there's lots of reasons to dislike Disney beyond TLJ being a shit movie.
And this is coming from a guy who fucking ADORES their theme parks and the MCU. I like Avengers and I'm hyped for Galaxy's Edge but I don't begrudge anyone who dislikes the way they do business or curate their art.
>don't have to flick it
but flicking it was one of the funnest part of the lightsaber toys
As someone who lives a couple hours from World, is Land worth going to? What are some things to not miss and to avoid?
>golfing at disney world.
holy fuck inland florida seems boring.
They never had a spongebob ride you liar. They had a Jimmy Neutron one for only eight years that had an appearance by spongebob.
>Artoo! We passed the Endor moon!
>Now what's the matter?
>Cumshots...?
>CUMSHOTS!
I already have a budget set for the money I’m gonna blow making my saber.
I hope it’s as fun as Ollivanders can be
>go to ollivander’s with friend who’s never been
>already have wand
>I get picked
>wand master starts going through the speech and measuring me
>awkwardly pull wand that’s tucked in my back pocket
>you already have a wand?
>yes
>then whatever are you doing here, boy?
>takes my wand right from my hand
>I’m... very dedicated to learning wand lore?
>well here’s your first lesson. Never keep your wand in your back pocket.
>taps me in head with it and shoos me back into the group
>ends up picking my friend to do the ceremony for real
>but shoots me fake dirty looks the entire time
Yeah, but now you can do that badass shit like Alec Guinness where you just hold it steady and extend the blade like some shit's about to go down, rather than taking special care not to turn it upside-down, lest the plastic tube bits come tumbling out.
>That entire conversation in one of the later books about how you shouldn't keep your wand in your pants pockets lest you sit on it funny and accidentally blow a testicle off
Harry Potter is pretty great, despite the insane author and terrible fanbase and shitty spinoffs.
oh shit my bad man
yeah, i didn't mean that disney has no flaws, cause they certainly do (i am not a fan of what's going on right now with them), i just get a bit defensive about the parks cause besides animation that's my favorite part of disney
>2 water parks
which one is The Little Mermaid theme?
my niece loves it and I might take her next year
He still appeared in a ride. They still had to pay royalties for him to be there.
And suddenly, I'm reminded of a spring-loaded one I have tossed away somewhere.
Neither. There is a Little Mermaid themed area with a ride and Ariel meet in Magic Kingdom, a Little Mermaid stage show at Disney's Hollywood Studios and a whole area, pool and rooms themed to it at Disney's Art of Animation Resort.
PROOF RIGHT NOW
I really don't like characters from different movies mixing like this, seems weird.
>You can program them to be afraid of Stormtroopers and they'll freak out if you go to a Stormtrooper meet and greet
>program your little droid buddy to have anxiety
>feel too bad to put it in situations that might scare it
Honestly the JW overhaul in Hollywood is sounding fucking fantastic with ILM in charge of the effects.
Too bad the layout of the new Orlando Coaster doesn’t really allow for too much themeing. I do hope the Orlando ride gets new animatronics, the only one they take good care of is the Rex
I'm the opposite, I love seeing the franchises interact. It would be so boring seeing the same old same old "we'll act like scenes in the movie" type thing. There's another video of Peter Pan, Captain Hook, and Alice (and maybe Goofy) all interacting with Push the Trash Can. It's pretty fun.
thats disappointing, you would think they would at least be themed after disney water movies
but I'll go there
come to think of it, the water parks have remained totally free of IP autism, haven't they?
>t.the entire Disney corporation
That's literally the best thing about face characters though.
There's a video out there of the Evil Queen just shit-talking the Princesses for wearing too much makeup, it's fucking gold.
>she literally does the anime "hand on the wall" thing
Fuck me.
>moving the goalposts
I'm glad there's little chance IoA gets re-themed to have World instead of Park. River Adventure needs a bit of a cleanup, but JP themeing blows JW out of the water.
Fun Fact, the skeletons hanging in the Visitor's Center are the actual ones from the movie. If you look closely, you can see the loops where they were secured. Also, when the "paleontologist" is pushing the fossil cart around, take a look at the amber. That was a backup prop for the amber mine scene where the guy shines the light through the mosquito.
I love how Universal recycles actual movie props in places where you can see them up-close, especially for something like Jurassic Park (which is the reason I got my degree in film studies in the first place).
>mfw a kid literally recreates that KC Green comic about the screaming robot in Galaxy's Edge
Honestly I'd take a complete theming overhaul of the land if it meant we could get modern animatronics on the ride.
Unironically? It's a fucking boomers only lounge thats way too hyped up. The cuts of beef, pork, and poultry they have there is divine, an excellent selection of wine to rival that of france itself. The on staff bartender makes god tier drinks and it's a very nice atmosphere.
However it's old, very old. Like it still has the old 1950's theme to it, and the only people in it are boomers who ruin the place by smoking fancy cigars, so the entire place is filled with smoke and the smell of cigars. Everyone is in their 50's+ and is most likely someone whom wants to invest to disney but doesn't see the practicality of it. If you want to go for the wine and cheese selections and the bar, it's really great. But as an eatery its above average. You literally substitute the tourists for old crotchety boomers whining about technology (I wish I was kidding). They also don't allow camera's past media events, and you NEED to have a suit to enter, or at least a button up. It's a very formal eatery.
Overall, not worth the price and the exclusivity of it and i'd rather eat at a restaurant that has actual theming in it.
t. grandfather was a high stakes investor and Disney would fly him and on his request, us out every summer to do media tours specifically for the fucking investors to remain interested in.
I have no reason to believe you, but the idea of Disney's most exclusive club just being a boomer kennel full of cigar smoke made to keep the high-rollers happy while they toy with the idea of pumping yet more money into the parks sounds about right.
Well Rex has music speaker functionality so you can make him a DJ with whatever music player you plug into him.
Club 33 got a big overhaul a couple years ago and lost most of that vintage charm. Like they gutted the antique elevator into a dining booth and slapped the animatronic vulture from the old Trophy Room (which was assimilated into the expanded kitchen) onto a grandfather clock. Also, a vague Princess and the Frog theme in a new jazz club area, but really who cares.
On top of this, they redid the windows in such a way that they're much bigger, but it completely throws the design of the outside out of whack so you have all these misaligned picture windows that allow normies to look up and see rich assholes eating and shove an actual Disney class system in your face.
Shit really? I haven't been since my grandpa died in 2009 and we sold our investments in disney. We still get monthly shit about investing in disney in the mail though.
youtu.be
>Chris Pratt does all of his voices in the LEGO video games
>They couldn't get him for a theme park ride
That's a bit of a bummer desu
Yeah, you don't even go into the old door anymore. You know the Court of Angels, that staircase to nowhere off the beaten path in New Orleans Square? They blocked that off with a stained glass door and that's how you go into Club 33 now.
People were really fucking pissed too. Extra detail that made the land feel like a lived-in space aside, it was a very popular Christmas Family Picture spot for locals.
Oh yeah, and they turned that Disneyland Dream Suite/Disney Gallery space into a Club 33 adjacent restaurant called 21 Royal that costs $1250 a head to eat at.
Yeah bro they were totally going to implement these concepts from the 70s they've been sitting on for decades anyday now.
I think it's very funny that incels get so salty in these threads when you point out that the paid performers probably don't care about them nor do they want to fuck them
>is it kino
>literally one of the best rides in the park.
>gotg tower
>shitty
this pleb. It's easily better then TOT was.
Club 33 is a ride?
No
Point is something was gonna go in there and that was the thing Imagineers kept wanking off like the Disneyland equivalent to Beastly Kingdom. The northern side of Rivers of America was the last big expansion space the park had left. It was either there or tear out the Subs and Autopia, which they were considering for a Tatooine-flavored Star Wars Land before Iger wanted to go all in on the Sequels.
Hell, Tony Baxter, the guy who created Discovery Bay, was banking on Oz The Great and Powerful to make money a few years ago to justify doing Oz as the Frontierland/Fantasyland border expansion, hoping it could be pushed through either way as he felt Oz was a solid "timeless Americana" fit for Disneyland.
I think the big question is: why did disney buy 900 arces south of disneyworld?
I'm just saying being pissy that discovery bay didn't get made while star wars land did is a little silly considering it's obvious they were never going to do it. Getting mad about no Beastly Kingdom because fucking Avatar is more understandable.
Beastly Kingdom was dead the second Universal opened Islands of Adventure and featured the knockoff version designed by Imagineers that jumped ship. Even around 2001 or so, Joe Rohde was admitting that Beastly Kingdom was never gonna happen and they were gonna spread the mythological creatures concept elsewhere, resulting in Everest. Potter was just the last nail in the coffin.
Nature preserves to offset the development on the main Disney World property. They did the same thing during the 90s expansion push that begat Animal Kingdom.
So is there any hope the new JP coaster isn’t just going to just be a coaster painted JP colors
most of the land in disneyworld is used up, tho? even the imagineers said the reason why there's not a big expansion is a lot of the land left is on sinkholes and wet lands that are impossible to build on.
Also
Press f for River Country, guys.

What's a good site for Park rumors? I feel like there used to be a bunch of sites leaking info from WDI years ago but most of them are gone now or their sources clammed up
Source on the Oz shit?
Inside Universal is actually really good for current theme park rumors if you can get past the hug box mentality.
Google it. It's real. There's concept art and everything. Although it's been awhile since I've looked, it might've been concepts for its own OZ park.
There was also plans for a Nightmare before Christmas land but they cheaper out turned it into Haunted Mansion Holiday instead, thank god. HMH is also way past it’s prime and needs to go. I’d rather they put up regular but spooky decorations around he Mansion (big Christmas tree in the ball room with skulls hanging from it etc) and change up the music and voice work to be more festive. Less is often more.
I knew Oz had been looked at as an IP ages ago but didn't know they were contemplating incorporating into a park recently.
Nothing will beat getting to ride Indiana Jones when it first opened. It was super dark inside. The car was really rough. It was awesome. I heard they brightened it up and smoothed out the vehicle.
neither, the wave pool is at typhoon lagoon which is the only one with an animatronic
and blizzard beach is where you go if you want the big thrill slides.
I agree that a non-IP HMH would be excellent but i disagree about NMBC being past it's prime. It's still got a pretty significant cult following. The line to meet Jack & Sally in New Orleans Square is insane every time I see them in the park.
Tony Baxter was interviewed on a podcast a couple years back and talked about Oz and Geyser Mountain, which was a Tower of Terror style drop ride.
His idea for Oz was that the circus had come to Frontierland and Oz's Magic Show was basically one big pre-show for the land where you'd go in the tent and the tornado would kick in and from there, you'd go into a huge indoor Oz area cut off from the rest of Disneyland.

Thanks for the link, that sounds like a cool concept and kind of similar to what they're doing with ROTR in Galaxy's Edge with the multiple locations within an attraction.
Should we do a Yea Forums group trip/meetup or is the idea as bad as I'm thinking
almost as bad as brazillian tour groups.
I wholeheartedly think that would be pretty fun, but fuck Disneyland I would rather go to Universal because of less crowds + fun to talk shit.
Haven't been to WDW in over 20 years, planning on staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge this time, how inconvenient is no monorail? As a bab we went to Grand Floridian and the monorail was nice.
you just wait at the right bus stop for a bus, get on and go.
It's not any less conveinent unless you leave mid day, when the buses don't come as often cause literally nobody heads back to the hotels midday.
I've never ever stayed a monorail hotel before so....
That being said the Monorail only goes to two parks and there's now 4, plus other stuff that's opened since you've last been there so really in the grand scheme of things I wouldn't think it's that big an issue aside from a quick and easy way to the MK.
Based wizard guy
Themeparkstop is the hot one now
Would probably get kicked out for trying to smell princesses or something else creepy
BRUH...why am I hard?
Has longer ride and more stuff in it. Kinda like why people like WDW's HM bit more because it has more shit to see in it.
I will say though, I do like WDW's Pirate's queue and outside building more with the Spanish armada style look.
He needs to come back. Goddamnit.
Who pinchad here?
I dunno man, true, it wasn't a be all end all attraction, but what we got was pretty nice. Only thing I would change is the name and make the slinky dog dash less obviously a dollar coaster by hiding the track with the orange road from Hot wheels. Also, Toy Story Land is so fucking generic. Name it something like Andy's Backyard.
Remember when Worlds of Wonder was rumored to be a vidya themed park?
What sort of lands would they go for?
I've been planning a big trip to Disney World come November with a friend of mine and I'm still trying to figure out the most cost efficient way of going about this. We both go to school in Georgia, Disney is about a 6 hour car ride away. If we were to both purchase an annual platinum pass, rent a car and stay at some cheap hotel wouldn't that be cheaper than spending a week at Disney's cheapest resort hotel? As far as I know passholders can't park for free, that's my main cause of concern. Also yes we both would definitely be using the annual passes through out the year.
Ceder Point.
>Mfw when west coasters and southerners pay up the ass to walk around and look at shitty theater sets and ride children's rides.
>t. Bong
My only option is DL Paris and I doubt I'll be able to do it. Only holiday this year is to Prague for the footie, so it could be worse.
You got Alton Towers tho
I'm retarded then, cheers for reminding me
Regular coasters are fun, but they're basically all the same fucking thing with only slight variations in inversions and drop height dick measuring contests.
Also, shitty theater sets IS the extent of theming regional parks can do. DIsney and Universal are more movie set grade with the money and experience they got.
With this 500th post I shall kill this thread.
Yay
nothing is as bad as that
>but they're basically all the same fucking thing with only slight variations
You need to ride some better coasters.
$160 is actually very reasonable if they've figured out a way to mass produce similar products to what Saberforge or Ultrasbaers make. ANd those are full contact dueling sabers. The fact that the hilts look to be real metal and the blades are bought separately makes me think they'll be similar to those other companies. Especially since they developed similar tech for the lightsabers in TFA.
Not the same user but I'm right there with them, I love Disney animation and the parks but I despise corporate more than anything.
you literally make the sword handles out of real metal parts, they can only take 14 people at a time, and there's a whole show that goes with the sword including getting your own kaiber crystal. the wants in hp are just rfi chipped.
