Do we know what to expect from this? Are we going to have an archive of all of the classic Mickey Mouse cartoons and Disney animated films, or are they going to continue limiting that to the Disney vault bs?
Do we know what to expect from this...
They said it would include all the movies. Nothing about TV series
Watch them prioritize Disney Channel sitcoms while anything else like Talespin or Goof Troop are few and far between.
I hope they offer all the crap they have (movies, animated series) on the first day.
They'll never put all the shorts on their since a few have racist stuff. We're lucky we got the treasures sets really, those shorts will never see the light of day again officially.
>anything else like Talespin or Goof Troop
You can easily get that tier of shows elsewhere.
It's incredibly rare shit like the Saban productions that desperately needs to be put on this service.
Most of those cartoons don't have racist themes in them though, don't they? Sure, you may have stuff like Mickey's Mellerdrammer and the political cartoons in the world war era, but those only seem to consist a small part of the actual cartoons. I also feel like it's bad to ignore parts of history just because we find it offensive, but I know many people in this political climate will disagree.
Most don't but a few do.
>I also feel like it's bad to ignore parts of history just because we find it offensive
Tell that to Disney. WB via the Warner Archive are the only place still putting out old shorts with offensive content since their stuff is meant for adult collectors and not children like Disney+ will be.
WB also had the warnings with Whoopi Goldberg saying that while inappropriate not including this sort of stuff would be the same as pretending it never existed. Leonard Maltin did something similar for the Disney Treasures sets, which I guess just goes to show how much times have changed only in the last 10 years. At least we got all the Disney shorts released in the sets. Officially restored and released censored 11 fucking never
I just want Weekenders in 1080p.
Disney Channel is treating the broadcasting schedule of animated shows terribly so I prefer Disney+ will bring them up.
As opposed to what Boomerang does, SLOWLY rolls their content out. Not in order or anything.
At least we got Duck Dodgers season 3 in HD there pretty quickly. Doubt Disney will be so forthcoming with SD let alone HD releases
Pepper Anne won't be on there list.
>giving money to disney
If they want to kill Netflix they should just have everything they have in HD quality on day 1. That would be insane.
>Pepper Anne won't be on there list.
Source?
Disney TV Animation said they were the largest contributor to Disney Plus at something like 5K hours of content.
And yes, thst includes stuff from their catalogue. In fact, it'll probably only be a few bits that DON'T make it, like the banned episodes of Darkwing and Bonkers
>Bonkers on D+
>finally get to see that episode with Miranda's feet in good quality
Disney+ is going to be targeted for kids? I thought the thing was going to have an appeal to a broad audience, they could just do what Netflix does to filter content out that wouldn't be suitable for younger audiences.
like what ?
