It's an autobiographical comic by Roz Chast about her parents dying, one at a time over a long period of time.

Serious literature is like valuable art.
As important/expensive as people are willing to claim it is.
The Divine Comedy is just Catholic crossover fanfic, if you ask me.

Comics are a medium, not a genre.

you meant board

why, yes, comics can be used to make well thought articulated arguments

Not only is it a fanfic, it’s a blatant self-insert fanfic. Dude literally places himself as one of history’s greatest writers inside the story, it’s like he’s the 14th century equivalent of the Sonic OC who gets to fuck Amy Rose.

And then I met all the awesome philosophers.
And then I saw how my in laws were being tortured in hell because they are like soooo evil.
And then I high-fived Jesus and saved my cute girlfriend.
The end.

Never

i wanted to see the backlash for this one

Who cares? I'm reading whatever I want.

his new book All the Answers is unironically really great

>Are comics serious literature?
No, that's why they are called COMICs. It's in the fuckin' name!!!!!!!

No

None of you read comics, so it's a moot point regardless.

But the answer is no. Comics are for children.

Ok, you got me there

some are, some arent. tom kings mister miracle is, but some shit like squirrel girl isnt

Bam! Pow! Comics aren't just for kids anymore!™

Dostoyevsky is a writer, not a book, and he had a lot more to him than Crime and Punishment.

i just want to read about the adventures of my favorite costumed heroes. whats so bad about that?

Now, I don't agree that comics are for kids, but superheroes sure as fuck are.

yeah, just like how king of the hill is a children's show

Wow, epic strawman!
