So, do you goes think Nova and Gamora will hook up in Cates GOTG?
Nova Richard Rider
Dick Rider looks good in that cover. Where is it from?
Who cares, no one in that company has ever read Thanos Imperative so no one will ever bring back Namorita. Dick Rider might as well hook up with a tranny robot or go full gay for Quill for all I care.
I bet that's the justification for Rich hiding Gamora's location after getting a thorough beating in the latest issue. Cates is an idiot who probably just skimmed through DnA GOTG and Nova and thinks Gamora and him are still an item (they aren't), and definitely won't hook up with Namorita again despite being back.
Not sure, in fact I think he will make Star-Lord/Gamora canon... for real.
To be fair, Loveness made it look like they were getting back together. Plus, Bendis had Nova talking about how madly in love with her he is before he kills himself.
I can imagine he looked through a wikia article and figured it'd be okay.
That was all before Namorita was confirmed to be alive and kicking in that Fantastic Four issue... Here I was hoping they'd rekindle that love, and that Richard finally met up with the New Warriors again, but NAH better him getting his shit pushed in by a bunch of edgelords instead.
I had clue Namorita popped up somewhere. I thought they were sticking with Brevoort's "she got hit by bus offscreen"
Alright alright where is his butt
I think ultimately nobody listens to Brevoort, even though he has plenty of sway. He also went and said there was no interest in Eternals books right after Marvel Studios confirmed a movie was in the works.
Who knows? I won't be reading it to find out.
Namorita fags are as irritating as Gwen Stacey fags. Rich has moved on from a puppy dog romance to a real woman.
It's not even about Namorita, but the principle of the thing. She's the anchor Richard had with his life on Earth and New Warriors. Now it's completely severed and he barely has an identity of his own beyond trolling around planets trying not to catch alien viruses. Oh and getting pummeled in the background for sure.
he's let go of his childhood and accepted his responsibility as a defender of the universe. He shouldn't be dicking around earth while there are space pirates in need of an ass kicking.
maybe she should become a guardian
It was some 80's variant cover thing that Marvel was having at the time (which is why Gamora is wearing leg warmers) and this is suppose to be a parody of all of those dancing 80's movies I think.
Who knows but I hope not, ever since Bendis was convinced they had an epic love all the writers followed that and are now treating it as canon. Still I do believe Rich wouldn't betray Gamora (or anyone he's fond of at least) to a kill squad so that part in Cates' GotG did rang true.
Ugh I can equally believe this happening too especially with how angry Peter is with Gamora but there's also a hint of "I loved you and you fucked me over big time" and Cates loves edgy and fucked up drama. Last thing I want is a love triangle between Gamora Peter and Rich and I would just rather Gamora stays single or has a relationship with someone else.
Slott is a known giant New Warriorsfag and he was butthurt about Civil War. My guess it's why he brought Nita back and why he had Vance make a cameo in the Thing's bachelor party. If he had his way he probably would make a New Warriors reunion happen in Fantastic Four but my guess is that Cates has dibs on Nova and Darkhawk and the X-Men people probably have dibs on Firestar (I haven't kept up with the X-Men but I know she appeared as a background character in one of the titles).
Brevoort also wanted to get rid of the term "616" but it didn't go away and both Ewing and Saladin used it in their comics after he said that. Brevoort has little control of things now.
Excuse me but Nova can dick and ride wherever the hell he wants whenever he wants.
>He shouldn't be dicking around earth while there are space pirates in need of an ass kicking.
It's just a gravimetric portal away, no big deal. Besides, Robbie just showed up on Earth looking for one of the Stones as Talonar, eventually everyone goes back to the ol' planet.
The art was so bad in this, like I know Rich is suppose to be thicc but in here he was borderline into fatty zone. Not to mention this shit art almost ruined the story for me.
That said Derek Landy should write more Nova.
They should just make the New Warriors cosmic, two of them already are and Vance has some cosmic connections.
I didn't even bother to check the name of this fill-in artist, but I hope they never get work on Marvel again until they severely improve.
Good idea. Considering they're going to reprint all of Speedball's classic stories, it would be timely for him to be brought into an ongoing. Is any of them Canadian? Maybe we could pester Zub about it, after he gets that Alpha Flight book going.
Bendis, Loveness, and everyone who wrote Gamora after DnA dissagrees.
>other people picking Slott's stuff
Everyone hates him even inside the company.
>and everyone who wrote Gamora after DnA dissagrees
Duggan didn't pair them up. In fact he made clear it was Gamora chasing after him, while he was more worried about his brother. Under Duggan, it was Peter who had an unrequited love for Gamora, who she exploited to get the Stone.
that reminds me...speedball was in the negative zone for a time, wasn't him? another cosmic connection
This won't happen if only because relationships are the only thing that doesn't synergize from the MCU.
Besides Cates had Peter show he still has feelings for Kitty for some reason. Maybe he's a Bendisfag?
I like Nova/Gamora better than Nova/Namorita anyway
>Duggan didn't pair them up. In fact he made clear it was Gamora chasing after him
One sided love is still hinting a ship
>Under Duggan, it was Peter who had an unrequited love for Gamora, who she exploited to get the Stone.
This is what you read from that page? Seriously?
>Maybe he's a Bendisfag?
He referenced "Black Vortex" in Death of the Inhumans, an event nobody else bothered to mention for years, so... It's likely. And pretty gross desu.
Though it's been three issues so far of Peter drinking himself to oblivion, given the way he writes things and how he's having a hard time giving him a proper characterization, I bet he'll stop drinking once he finds out where Gamora is.
Ewing referenced Black Vortex as well in Royals.
>One sided love is still hinting a ship
But he didn't even care, while Peter seemed upset she was leaving them just to keep chasing the Stones.
"Et tu, Ewing?"
I think the only thing we can count for sure with Dick Rider moving forward is for him to be as much of a punching bag as possible since Brevoort doesn't like him.
Peter was upset because Gamora was obsessed with chasing the stones and trying to drag them into that mess.
He was in a hurry because he had an objective, that doesn't mean he didn't care. He cared enough to hope she would go with him.
He did pretty good against the Black Order. I feel like it was Brevoort's idea to depower him, though
I think he should just get a new love interest or move on from those two, especially Gamora since I know Marvel will eventually hook her up with Star-Lord and if Rich with her some hack writer will use it for cheap ass drama and make Rich look like the bad guy.
I also care more about Peter and Rich's friendship than whatever Rich has with Gamora.
Ewing is a continuityfag and a continuity janitor, he will reference everything in an attempt to clean it up.
Aside from an OC, who would you think Marvel would pair him with?
Rich was looking for his brother even before he met up with the Guardians (and only did because Peter found out he was alive) and he only got involved to help a colony that the Gardener was attacking, then to make sure the power stone didn't fall in the bad guy's hands. And after he knew Robbie was Talonar wasn't going to put trying to save his brother on the side for rock hunting with Gamora or Peter.
It's kind of like that New Warriors issue where some bad guys find out the identity of the New Warriors because Namorita was careless and then go for all of the New Warrior's loved ones. Rich's brother gets kidnapped and his pinky cut (which Duggan references in his Infinity Countdown and how Rich recognizes his brother) while Rich and the New Warriors listen. Nita is angry and just wants revenge and doesn't want to turn herself in, but Rich reminds her what happened to his brother and is mostly upset at her for wanting revenge more than anything.
It was a similar deal with Gamora even when she didn't want to help with the Gardener attacking that one colony and wanted to go straight for the Infinity stones, because when she said she wanted Rich in her team he made it clear he was going to help Knowhere and she could join up if she wanted to (which she ended up doing).
So yeah it's not that he didn't care about Gamora but more like Rich has priorities and saving people in on the top of his list. He's also not going to put the safety of his little brother (who is possibly the most important person to him) on hold for Gamora wanting to get the soul stone (and hell the whole deal with that comic was that Gamora started losing it because all that mattered to her was the soul stone and trying to get part of herself back).
That's a good question, I don't know, probably a cosmic d-list character but I think it would be best if they just made an OC and make her interesting.
Although I kind of like the idea of a female cosmic abstract taking a fancy on him (not Death, he don't need that Thanos bagagge) and him being oblivious to it.
>Although I kind of like the idea of a female cosmic abstract taking a fancy on him (not Death, he don't need that Thanos bagagge) and him being oblivious to it.
I'm getting some Quasar flashbacks from this.
Didn't she also want Adam Warlock? Heck Ayesha, Gamora, and countless of other women were after the Warlockdick and he pretty much No Wayfag'd them all.
Warlock is the ultimate cosmic chad but he transcended to the point he doesn't give a fuck about sex and shit, a true wizard.
Apparently Fabian Nicieza just found out Rich Rider is back on twitter because Ben Morse (former Marvel employee) was tweeting about GotG #3.
I'm kinda peeved about that because he's been back since fucking 2017. Fuck Cates, but whatever I guess.
Well people were still unaware that Rich was back even after 2017 Nova was cancelled. Heck someone in my LCS last year was surprised Nova was back.
Nah it's fine, I guess people just don't keep up with everything like we do. There's comic fans right now who don't even know Avril Kincaid died and isn't the current Quasar, for example... I saw some people protesting that the upcoming Annual was going to be focused on Wendell instead of her.
I like Nova
I saw someone complaining about Phyla not being Quasar and being replaced by "a white guy" for the annual and another person telling them that Phyla hasn't been Quasar for a long ass time and that she gave the bands back to Wendell.
Also it's funny to me that almost no one gave a shit about Avril when she died or even cared enough about her to know that she died. But of course Wendell it's back and suddenly "What about Avril/Phyla!"
>Also it's funny to me that almost no one gave a shit about Avril when she died or even cared enough about her to know that she died. But of course Wendell it's back and suddenly "What about Avril/Phyla!"
This shit right here! But if you say it in public you're a total bigot, even though you still have to sit calmly and explain them she fucking sacrificed herself.
Hell if we get into it, there's no explanation for Wendell's reappearance either, he simply showed up two years later then got sucked into a hole. Quasar is much more mishandled than Nova yet the few fans he has have to suck it up.
Speaking of Rich's brother, did he fucking dig up Mar-Vell's corpse to get the nega-bands? Because that dead body in the space suit that the Guardians found in the Milano that had the nega-bands was wearing Mar-Vell's suit and the Guardians and the Raptors were fucking throwing it around and they even ripped its arm off.
Also I think Peter reffered to the nega-bands as "Mar-Vell's nega-bands" and holy shit that's fucking awful if it was his body. Of course writers don't give a shit or are oblivious to this but damn Mar-Vell was known and liked by many people that I would expect a bunch of heroes going after Robbie's ass if they knew.
>dick rider
Yeah they don't fucking give a shit about the characters except having the characters reflect what they want. But at least Wendell is back, I started liking the character while reading DnA's Nova and went and read Gruenwald's run and I ended up loving the character. Also people really go on about Rich and Peter's friendship but I found I liked Rich and Wendell's more.
>there's no explanation for Wendell's reappearance either, he simply showed up two years later then got sucked into a hole. Quasar is much more mishandled than Nova yet the few fans he has have to suck it up.
Ewing is one of the five writers who will be writing a story for a character in the upcoming GotG Annual, if he gets to do Quasar I am sure he'll find a way to explain it since he likes cleaning up continuity. All we know so far about that comic is that Tini Howard is writing an Adam Warlock story.
Yes we know and obviously from the countless post before yours you're not the first person to realize this. Hell the Nova comics already pointed this out in the 90's so you're pretty late.
And Star-Lord's name is PETER QUILL, welcome to 30 years ago.
Isn't Mar-Vell's body still buried in Titan? I don't see a way for him to turn out somewhere else unless he was dug out or something. More likely that someone stole the bands and died with them, because it was an astronaut's corpse anyway, not his suit.
I just went back and read the two issues, at no point they refer to the corpse as Mar-Vell's, just that the bands are Kree tech.
