It's like movies, or music, or whatever you enjoy. I don't know if I like them better or not, it's just a matter of what I want to do. Whenever I feel like reading a comic nothing else would do, and viceversa. I can go through long periods of time without reading comics and then on a binge.
What is sad to me is how many people who read comics won't read literature. The other way around is kinda expected because comics are a niche medium that has a bad reputation, and literature readers tend to be snobbish, but I would've expected more open mindness from comic book readers.

Depends how the actual story is told.
Look at Coraline who has a book, comic, and movie. Each one tells the same story but each one is different and gives you a different. That is in no way good or bad. Just different.
