What was with these designs?

They look like villains.

Goofy enough to work as sub-par heroes, but can be twisted to be threatening when possessed.

i had no idea the middle one was a woman until i read it on tvtropes

They’re Z list superheroes that survived because Syndrome overlooked them. I guess them being ugly contributed to their low hero status.

This guy gets it.

They look like those intentionally ugly designs you see certain tumblr artists draw.

>strig
>gurdley
>blitz

Come on, those objectively are not first names.

how can i misgender them if i don't know their gender?

That’s what I was thinking

>gurdley
>age 40s
Are they serious with this?

They all look male. They wanted Elastigirl to shine by making all of the other adult female characters look unappealing.

I think the problem is that they either were designed by someone else/various people and didn't really look like they belonged in the world that the Incredibles made.

They looked more like villains than anything which i guess was kind of the point.

Hence why she was their "Face" I guess.

They're LGBT

They are second generation, and second rate supers that Syndrome had no interest or possibly knowledge of. All the strapping, adonis like Supers were killed, leaving these semi-rejects.

From another point of view, they were designed so kids wouldn't feel bad about them getting beat up by the heros, while also making them quirky.

>can make portals
>only ever did petty theft
Guilty conscience? Not sure how she, Brick, or
these two would be second rate supers. Those are some real good powers that could easily be used for saving scores of people. Would've liked a scene or two introducing these heroes in their cities fighting baddies then being recruited rather than telling us in a meeting.

They look like post-modern students.

>Reflux
>40s.

That doesn't sound right.

You'd be surprised.

How the flying fuck is Reflux in his 40s. He looks like he's in his 60s, 50s at the least.

Screech is actually cute

I can't be the only one who thinks Voyd is fucking HOT right?

I hardly see any cheesecake of her.

As several people have mentioned they kind of look like villains. Of course that was the point as their major role in the movie is to be muscle for the bad guy. So they needed designs that could pass for heroic but be threatening when needed. If I recall correctly during the big meet up on the ship where several world leaders brought their own hero's most of them were much more classical heroic builds. As they never had to appear threatening during certain scenes.

Of course it does fit in the setting that at this point in time your going to have mostly d listers and youngsters who are to new to be worth anything thanks to syndrome and just most hero's reaching retirement age.

I thought the point was that they were shitty indie superheroes with no real support or foundation and had ugly costumes to support this fact.

Having a belly full of FUCKING LAVA ages you.

I wish they had better colour schemes, too much brown and blue going on.

Voyd is in her 30s? Damn

Screech has hollow bones? How did he not break when he got hit?

how the hell is krushauer's intelligence his highest stat? He seemed like a retard in the movie

Never let your guard down

They're actually all women.

Friendly reminder about that fan comic where Voyd is trans and gets adopted by the Parr family and Helen becomes a doting mother figure to zir

It certainly works with that "shape theory" i heard in class once. Circular characters are nice, while triangular characters are evil

>Voyd
>30s

Bullshit

I still think Reflux's design makes more sense as a much older hero who was inspired to take up being a hero again.

Like he fought bootleggers during the '20s/'30s and stepped aside when a new generation of heroes came up.

Voyd seems almost twice as old as she be and Reflux about half.

I can't be the only one who thinks Voyd looks kind of like Monsoon, right? I need to know I'm not going crazy.

Voyd and the owl guy look ok in the 2D art, the others still stuck though

>doting, tender mommydom versus insecure, approval-seeking tgirl sub

I think Voyd's issue with design is that she's got a weirdly realistic bodyshape in comparison to practically everyone's exaggerated figures.

Tbh i really like screech

Though i think the general idea was to make all of them vaugly look evil or incompetent looking so 1. Helen looks much more compitent compared to them and 2. when they turn evil kids wont feel as bad when they get beat up

I think Brick's should be lower.

Vord and Owlman are both good initial designs to be worked on.
The rest need something more distinct.
Brick either needs a better costume, or everyone else needs a better costume so that her thing is having a dumb costume.

>he couldn't figure out how to uncrush something
Why didn't he just crush four times or even just two times on either side of the engine room hall if he was so smart

Where did these come from? Nothing on the bluray had any of this info on it

>30s

The hell? From the film, I thought she was late teens, early 20s at most.

Also Voyd goes on a date with Brick

This is the real ticket right here.

maybe he's playing the long con

why did the portal girl get way more attention that the others?

I swear she got more screen time than Frozone towards the end.

Cause she's the hottest

whats the most legitimate way of making mad dosh with portal powers anyway?

Krusher and He-lectric would make terrible heroes. Sure, they would dominate in a fight, but neither of their powers are suited towards saving people, except in very specific scenarios. Brick could probably have gone pro, I don't see how she's much different from Bob. Voyd's problem is that she probably just didn't want to be a super. Sure, she had the superpowers, tried them out to rob a few places, got caught, and then decided to just settle down in peace instead of face the heat.

It depends on how far you can project them. If it's from city to city, you could make millions cutting down on transport costs for businesses. Not sure how you'd make money if it was, say, limited to a city block.

thats the joke.
>slow guy is actually the smartest.

dont tell me you've never seen that kind of gag before? did you even play TF2?
