Why aren't they trying to do a Batman Beyond movie instead of "The Batman"? He is superior in every field and would fit their universe better

Yeah man, the optimistic batman is really an edgelord.
The character is too similar to Spiderman.
Especially with the whole MCU relationship between Stark and Parker.
To wider audiences Bruce and Terry would look like an attempt by DC at ripping off Marvel.
Because nobody actually gives a fuck about your cartoon nostalgia boner.
Retards. Fuck off.
dont do the mouth
>The character is too similar to Spiderman.
>Especially with the whole MCU relationship between Stark and Parker.
They are nothing alike at all except the "older guy give suit to young man" thing that is already on countless movies.
because cyber punk films aren’t blockbuster hits these days.
>Beyond
>Edgy
What?
>Why aren't they trying to do a Batman Beyond movie instead of "The Batman"?
The real question is why they aren't doing a movie of The Batman, the best Batman cartoon.
>The Batman
>best Batman cartoon
Dude, everyone's heard of Batman Beyond.
Off-topic: I don't know why there are all these articles saying how Iron Man and Captain America were, "unknown," characters before the MCU. I'm a casual fuck who doesn't belong on this board but I had heard of them many years before the MCU started, and it didn't seem like that many people didn't know of them.
Unknown may not be the best word but they were definitely B or C list depending on who you asked. They would recognize them vaguely but probably not know their real identity or villains or personality other than "rich guy" and "boy scout"
Same. I know who they were. They just weren't mainstream
>fit their universe better
DC movies have been so goddamn inconsistent as of recent. I think they'd like to get their shit together and THEN do a spinoff future Batman story. For fuck sakes the new Suicide Squad is gonna be a reboot!
But it is. Just having a character arc every season (a.k.a. the Teen Titans formula) already puts it way above the competition.
>would fit their universe better
The DCEU universe is done, man. They're just going to do solo movies for a while.
Suicide Squad is a crossover, DCEU is still a shared universe.
everytime people bring up batman beyond they talk about how ‘dark’ the series was.
the last thing dc needs is more dark/gritty films.
There is nothing wrong with Dark Gritty films if the characters are supposed to be dark like Punisher and Batman.
>Cyberpunk city
>CGI suit
>Action film
>Multiple special effects
Too expensive.
Everyone who was watching the cartoons in the 90s and 00s have heard of Batman Beyond.
People are very fickle. I mean we had a WW tv show in the 70s that helped her popularity but by the 00s she wasn't even popular enough to be on tshirts in Walmart. Instead you had shirts with Batman, Superman, even Flash and GL. And where we stand now days it sounds ridiculous that common wise GL seemed more common or well known to recent audiences.
>CGI suit
why
In Scandinavia at least, most casuals just had a vague idea of who they were. My friend wasn't aware Iron Man wasn't an actual robot man before seeing the first movie. Captain America was regarded as a massive joke and Amerifat propaganda. Now people gladly wear shirts with his shield plastered on front.
Aquaman was set underwater and a CGI fest.
Because NOT MY BATMAN.
