Also, Netflix's Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy Season 1 will have six episodes.
Lastly, here's the preview of that Bumblebee one-shot which is included with the 4K/BD releases of the movie. The creative team is unfortunately uncredited here. Take a guess who's behind this comic.
Brandon Easton (also a shitty comic book writer) shared more information about the Netflix series Transformers: Wars for Cybertron at TFcon Los Angeles 2019. Because of some NDA, Seibertron and TFW2005's articles about this are pulled, but luckily someone archived the latter: archive.fo/6rAhW >Season 1 will consist of 6 episodes. >Each episode will have a running time of 22 minutes. >Brandon Easton has written over half the season. >The series will be directed at older fans of the franchise, and will be very dark in tone. >The story will feature lasting effects on canon. >Animation is taking inspiration from the hit Netflix show Knights Of Sidonia (also from the same animation studio[,] Polygon Pictures). >The show will keep characters true to themselves and G1 fans will not be disappointed. >Mr. Easton believes that War For Cybertron will become the next definitive iteration for the franchise. Those are yikes from me
Nicholas Gomez
>Also, Netflix's Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy Season 1 will have six episodes. I was already worried with this but reading everything else just sent my hopes way down. Thanks news user. Also, that Bumblebee comic...no way it is canon from what I read about it. Makes me worried about future movies.
This is really dumb. Does this have to Five issues. I really just want to go back to single Ghostbuster stories with no crossovers. Fuck we got half a year of this and then probably a new TMNT crossover.
This reminds me, is the Ecto-1 Transformer an old thing that I missed, or will I be able to get my grubby little hands on one for just an arm and a leg, instead of my firstborn child?
I knew I was forgetting something! >Announced in the run-up to Toy Fair 2019, preorders for Ectotron went up on Hasbro Pulse on February 15, 2019, before selling out within six hours. Ectotron will also be exclusive to GameStop in the United States and EB Games in Canada.
Man, Construct-Bots was a fun line until all the joints started self-destructing. I love finding bags of it at thrift stores because all the pre-AOE weapons use 5mm handles, so regular figures can hold them.
Colton Barnes
>Ectotron will also be exclusive to GameStop in the United States So somewhere between Maybe and Fat Chance.
Jacob Brown
Everything there sounds bad. Maybe not Machina bad because that was completely unwatchable shit, but still terribly bad. I have zero hope for this now.
Jace King
>it may very well be rebranded Machinima stuff Be afraid user.
Isaiah Campbell
They are nice for what they are. And yeah, those weapons are great for anyone.
Chase Hill
I'm impressed user, I wouldn't have thought anyone could say something to make me think worse of it.
>this comic is written from the "Bumblebee '18 is a prequel to Bayformers" perspective Huh... I thought that prequel mini-series was bad enough, but at least they had the excuse of it being written and released before the reshoots were even finished.
Thomas Jackson
This PoS is a special feature and Jesus...the Megatron seen in the comic uses the Bayverse design, the goddamn bluray omits that deleted scene, or anything else that suggests is a prequel.
Colton Brown
>Animation is taking inspiration from the hit Netflix show Knights Of Sidonia (also from the same animation studio[,] Polygon Pictures). Big yikes from me Polygon is shit.
Lincoln Russell
Polygon can be good, they did Prime and RiD, but here? Fuck, even Tatsunoko Production itself managed to animate like shit thanks to Machinima.
Jaxson Thomas
Kids REACT to The Transformers: The Movie (1986) Trailer
>wrestling comics What..the...fuck? I didn't even know there were wrestling comics. Is the available talent pool so unexistant or small they have to settle with D-tier comic book writers? None of the actual 'TV' shows (yeah right, as if you watched Cyberverse on TV) have these issues, none of them. Rooster Teeth, the fuck? Did they spend all the budget on celebrities again?
Kreon user? Yeah, that Fort Max looks great. Also, something would be wrong with you if you didn't want to.
Adam Evans
You can literally preorder it on their website, I dunno if it's still on sale but when I did it was $30 instead of $50.
Zachary Ross
fuck this designs really make me wish there was a new gen High Moon Transformer game.
Jeremiah Johnson
A ghostbusting transformer? What's he going to do, fight the ghost of Starscream? Oh. Oh no.
Michael Gomez
The prequel miniseries doesn't actually fit into ANY other established continuity. It doesn't work with the Bumblebee movies, it doesn't work with the Bay movies, and it doesn't work with the previous IDW Bayverse comics. It's just it's own thing.
That being said, it's FUN AS FUCK.
Dominic Cooper
Yeap and yeap Kylie is kino and the comics actually made the female GBs bearable. Hope IDW's still going with their stuff
>IDW reboots Transformers >Cyclonus still exists before the war even starts
Galvatron is going to be a separate character from Megatron again, isn't he?
Liam Diaz
>Look up Brandon Easton to see his works >Transformers Deviations
That man is angry. Angry about the Transformers: The Movie.
Caleb Brown
Hopefully, it's one of their better comics. And that Whirl is very nice.
Lincoln Cooper
>Wars for Cybertron
This franchise really needs to get some new subtitles to use.
Evan Morales
War for Cybertron Siege: Episode 1 >Oh no Rodimus! Don't die. >*FART* >*Rodimus explodes* >I Optimus will make a deep observation and angst, angst, angst. >Hi, I'm Windblade! Absolute kino.
I know, it's a recent toy (2-3 months) and everyone loves it. It's kinda lacking in the articulation department.
Carson Torres
Ok that legitimately might be a rights issue.
Jaxson Howard
Look just ignore him, it's just one dude.
Hudson Richardson
How about Moonracer?
William Hill
tfw made a red lobster Whirl from Misfire and that green pterodactyl cyclops OC, gave him a good name but forgot. >Misfire's body, black Megatron helmet and claws, white cyclops head from that AoE figure Turns into a lobster and a helicopter bc fuck you
Sorta decided he'd be the Rockbuster to Big Convoy, formerly being in the wreckers and being exiled/leaving.
My Swerve's pretty close to this one, gave him a Red Alert torso bc the Technobot set is rare. Different legs, I think plain red ones. Swerve!
It's a real shame that we never got a third game from them and that the license expired so who can't buy them any more.
Robert Brown
So he doesn't have a name?
Anthony Moore
So sad... I think he had one but I forgot. I forget what the major religions were and how Straxus was supposed to die, bc I don't write any of this down.
I don't think I'll have the parts for Whirl bc the round blue arms come from a cityville set or something. I think he was Whirl until he goes into seclusion, and later on joins Big Convoy's crew to find Optimus Prime's coffin
Here's an easy BW Megs. You just need a Motormaster and a Trypticon, and maybe a cybertron Prowl, mine's somewhat similar.
You're a very kind and inquisitive user, thank you
Awww haha Him and that's really nice. I like Marvel's UM (and IDW too I suppose) but most if not all iterations of my Roddy boy secures him as my #1 Autobot. Did you make this just now? Or is this a prior kino work?
But as for Decepticons, big tiddy Shockwave, batshit Galvatron, or big tiddy gramps Deathsaurus???
>that lady that got killed by Jason That was such a weird movie.
Michael James
Im still surprised that sue blu was in friday the 13th even if it was just a short scene
Oliver Cox
Very cool.
Hunter Garcia
I honestly thought she was younger, she played the mom. Not just at that scene, some short scenes at the beginning of the movie and some short ones near the end. Pretty surreal movie.
Aiden Clark
>Soundwave putting the moves on Arcee while his sons annoy Grimlock
Wowie, great stuff, keep up the good work chief! As much as I loved the youthful, brash-but-good-heart Hot Rod, the cool but tired uncle that was Rodimus Prime was indeed kino (please Kreon user stop saying kino) It'd be neat to see your rendition of Rodimus Prime if you ever choose to give it a try~
Elita team?
Looks more like extreme bickering than a war for some reason, maybe it's the face-shoving
Impressive how that smirk looks like a friendly smile with the correct deco.
Jackson Cooper
I'm fine with all the Ghostbusters crossovers, but it's starting to feel like every story is Into the GBverse. And then the TMNT and Transformers crossovers feel like they come out more often than normal GB comics do. I miss the days when Kylie is MY waifu and I swear I'll fight you.
Nathaniel Evans
>Is there some contractual reason IDW's ghostbuster comics have to look like this, or do idiots with no taste generally prefer the movie designs? it's because the IDW comics follow the events of the original 2 movies and the 2009 videogame, not the cartoon
also cause the artist has a distinct style
>Ok that legitimately might be a rights issue. nah they've done crossovers with the RGB versions in the past
Not him, but alright. >all her show's pictures and screencaps are horribly low res >the toy vaguely looks like her >this is the fan art that looks closer to her design
>boobs >bare midriff Tommy likey, Tommy want wingy.
Connor Nelson
there's potential in her. if only there was more art of her
Caleb Clark
Yeah, it was meant as a male originally. Her Transmetal body is the first Transformers toy intended to be a girl from the start. Not counting the Arcee prototype for the movie they never made anyway.
Camden Lopez
They did a decent job for a first attempt
Joseph Evans
I could have sworn Weremole did one of that body. But all I can find is this.
Nightracer kind of counts, she was Botcon only and was technically a Go-bot rereleased in new colors. She’s also iffy, being a fan OC that Hasbro decided they owned.
>fan OC Hasbro decided they owned What's the whole deal with Nightracer, really?
Brody Ortiz
at least arcee got a good toy after a while. and who's nightracer?
Austin Brooks
Transformers kind of died in Hasbro’s eyes, but thanks to the internet it got arguably the first modern autistic fandom. Star Trek doesn’t count, they were organized since the 60’s.
So the fans themselves organized starting in 94. Hasbro took notice, and sent reps to see what was up in 95. Pic related organized it that year. Here’s the TF Wiki page on her. tfwiki.net/wiki/Raksha
So Botcon revealed the community of adult, and even then older fans, with kids. Also that there was a LOT of female Transformers fans, more than the other major IPs meant for boys. Also, the fanbase had totally diverse takes on shit, like metaphors for the struggle of Jungian psychology, that Decepticons and Autobots weren’t as simple as good and evil, on spirituality and the value of organic life. Shit that inspired writers who would later start attending.
Anyway, she asked Hasbro to make a figure they could sell, her OC. They claim they own the character now, she claims she just lets them use it but doesn’t sue because she likes them making it.
Either way, Nightracer is a Go-bot made into a Transformer sold at Botcon 1995 as an exclusive, the first female toy sold and the first fan creation made canon.
Of course the mold was for a male character originally, as previously mention. TM Airazor is the first girl who was always a girl.
>first recorded post of Transformers in the Internet is dated from 1984, whoever made the post was already complaining.
>They claim they own the character now, she claims she just lets them use it but doesn’t sue because she likes them making it. Seems perfectly reasonable really, and the reason a character named Nightra is just called that.
This is a very good post and very informative, thank you user.
Parker Rogers
>that pic So Kira Kira wasn't the first tranny in the fandom.
Bentley Howard
tranny is a derogatory term
Brody Martinez
That's nice.
Charles Barnes
Naw, I think she was just an older woman. Like she got into the show as a teenager.
She reminds me of a school librarian.
No problem. Binging TF wiki is pretty fun, and kind of helps make the community less shit if we pass on info.
Depends how you say it.
John Robinson
Damn. This is interesting.
>Nightracer's colors weren't quite what Raksha had asked for: the lime-ish yellow plastic parts were supposed to be blue, but Hasbro had presumably told Raksha that the colors couldn't be changed.[2] A possible reason for this is that, due to the Generation 2 Go-Bots' gang-molded nature, Nightracer was actually made from spare parts that were left over from the production run of the Japanese releases of Go-Bots Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Soundwave: Nightracer's "godawful yellow" is also the color of Soundwave's car shell. This would also explain the different wheels, which originally belonged to the Double Clutch/Mirage mold. >Nightracer's profile in the Hasbro Transformers Collectors Club #46 explains that the Nightracer making her pictorial debut in the accompanying storyline (and thus Transformers canon) is a clone of an unseen "original Nightracer." The cloned Nightracer in this story is depicted as having Raksha's intended blues instead of the toy's bright yellow. >As of the end of A Flash Forward, Nightracer is pretty friendly, apparently okay with Side Burn hitting on her, and also now aligned with the Autobots. We'll be... uh... taking cover... >It would take over a year for Nightracer's design from "A Common Foe" to appear as a toy, but as hardcore Decepticon fan Raksha wrote the profile card, the toy is described as the original Nightracer rather than as her clone.
>Naw, I think she was just an older woman. Like she got into the show as a teenager. >She reminds me of a school librarian. The truth is, women hide their fandoms pretty well IRL, one day I came to visit one aunt who is well past sixty. I never would have guessed she'd have her movie library chockfull of horror movies. There were hundreds there.
Kayden Reyes
...you don't like reading through wikis?
Nolan Moore
>see it in stores for weeks, don't feel like paying $12+ for a glorified one-step changer, figure it'll be clearanced out like all the previous movie lines >fastforward a few months, all the Bumblebee movie toys sans Studio Series are already gone from shelves >never turn up in the clearance aisle or the dollar and drug stores where unsold inventory usually goes, just gone >this figure now goes for $30+ on eBay FML
Kevin Ramirez
I would rather read AskReddit than that 'wiki'.
Levi White
So unverified information with bad jokes instead of just legit info with bad jokes?
Xavier Powell
no, even then it's not worth it. dude, please tell me you're joking
Angel Sanchez
I don't hold with joking.
Joshua Evans
>see it in stores for weeks, don't feel like paying $12+ for a glorified one-step changer, figure it'll be clearanced out like all the previous movie lines >fastforward a few months, all the Bumblebee movie toys sans Studio Series are already gone from shelves >never turn up in the clearance aisle or the dollar and drug stores where unsold inventory usually goes, just gone >this figure now goes for $30+ on eBay >FML
Why do you think Hasbro was so adamant to confirm it as a reboot? This is the first film since the second one that actually managed to sell the toys! Also, damn, I must consider myself lucky for snatching that car mode Shatter that barely looks like her. That Soundwave never even arrived to my area.
Ethan Turner
you really aren't in a place to judge if that's the case. which is even more impressive when the BB line is kind of garbage.
Cameron Anderson
>which is even more impressive when the BB line is kind of garbage. Then it matches the movie perfectly.
Daniel Hughes
Alright, I'll bite, why is it garbage?
Levi Murphy
god damn it, not again.
Jace Young
Don’t bite. Its the /tfg/ troll probably, trying to stir Sunbowfags, Knightfags, and Bayfags into arguing. If you ignore him enough he posts Trump memes and copypasta. Then just report him.
>more than the other major IPs meant for boys that can't be right because Masters of the Universe in it's heyday had a 30% market share of girls, it's the whole reason they made She ra.
Connor Hughes
If you believe Matty it reached near 40% between the ages of 5 and 14. Girls like big muscle guys wrestling around in their shorts.
Anthony Bell
user....She-Ra kind of killed that market. In fact, it is VERY popular with LGBT demographic.
Ethan Anderson
I know that but I'm saying that was why it was made. user's info is off.
Michael Bell
That and in spite of the memes Trekkie's had about 1/4th of the fans as girls. We are not even counting Star Wars. I think user is either bullshiting or he is missing something.
Jonathan Ward
I wished they had used The Real Ghostbusters, if only because every Transformer is already using their Toon designs and the Star Trek crossover went whole hog in doing its "what if this crossover was actually the cartoons" to the point that they even mimicked Filmation art techniques and camera angles.
Kevin Stewart
>it is VERY popular with LGBT demographic. and straight guys. For obvious reasons.
>Girls like big muscle guys wrestling around in their shorts. yeah, no shit, Hollywood can poor this retardation about girls wanting strong girl characters but most would rather have strong men smash shit and project them before a good fucking.
Juan Phillips
I don't have verified data, but yeah, plenty of girls into Transformers. I hope Bumblebee made more. Don't fuck it up Hasbro, you actually want this market. Unlike that other unintended market from that other property.
Jace Murphy
>That and in spite of the memes Trekkie's had about 1/4th of the fans as girls. I'm assuming that was back then? Because they take almost half now but that's any fandom short of a few
Adam Gutierrez
>regular He-Man but with boobs, no seriously, it was the exact same show but slightly better written >they overdid the girly design, though They missed the mark so bad, I swear more boys watched the show in secret than actual girls.
Cooper Wright
>I don't have verified data then you are bullshitting because every documentary on toys talks about Heman's strange girl craze it had. They would have noted Transformers as well, more so if it beat MotU but it gets little passed a peep.
Tyler Smith
Bumblebee is a perfect middle ground, though. It even had men without shirts for no reason.
Ethan Wilson
No, I'm another user. One talking about modern verified data, not from back then.
Jason Adams
Also the villains were bad ass in that show. But yeah it was a major fuck up on their part, girls were buying he-man, that should have made them make She-Ra a in universe hero of the He-man crew and bring in her friends that way and not sell the dolls but action figures of the girl heroes because that would have made since if 30/40% of your buyers were girls, why would you offer them a completely different product.
Yeah, the villains. Who were sold as part of the He-Man line. Jesus, Mattel. Were the executives so coked up they failed to see where this was heading?
Jordan Hughes
I think it was where the idea was too strange to pitch in the 80s, a action figure brand that was unisex seemed off to adults, you would just always assume girls would want dolls.
Isaiah Gomez
Well, Robotech had it right, they had a line for boys and for girls for the same franchise. Who knows how successful it was but they knew their audience at least.
The IDWbusters are based off the Wii/PS2 Simplified look with some tweaks.
Probably a rights thing. Most celebrities don't let comics use their likenesses. Thats why Sigourney Weaver's character didn't appear in the comic for years.
Julian Morales
Makes sense.
Easton Rivera
>Probably a rights thing. Most celebrities don't let comics use their likenesses. Thats why Sigourney Weaver's character didn't appear in the comic for years. haven't they also not directly used Louis Tulley at all in the comics for similar reasons
Adrian Walker
BB movie is finally out in japan so expect fanarts.
That, and it might have offered something more unique than "LOL THE GHOSTBUSTERS FIGHT GOZER REMEMBER THAT FROM THE 80s LOL STARSCREAM IS A GHOST REMEBER THAT FROM THE 80s"
I'm sure the actual comic will offer a little more, but the previews certainly haven't instilled much beyond "member this?"
Asher Perry
You know, I like AoE's idea of Galvatron being a revenant of Megatron. Though if I had my way in the next series I'd have Megs be badly damage to the point of stasis, gets caught by a body horror machine, and wills a brand new body while leaving his old one behind for the Decepticons to find and try to restore. That way we can have both characters, and Galvatron's insanity could make some sense.
Caleb Price
Human's being more technically advanced in making their own TFs and throwing out the whole Allspark logic still pissed me off. Was really insulting.
Adrian Miller
Burnham and Schoening are examples of finding your niche and doing it out of love
Don't know if they even do anything outside of Ghostbusters but it feels like a labor of love every time
