It's funny that there's 0 exposition in this but yet it works. People who have never seen the show can still find this funny.

Another thing I really liked about Bushworld, it mocked Beth and Summer greatly which got too much positive treatment in the last season. I mean, it's become so rare to mock and laugh about womyn character in burger shows.

This. The show as it is seems really difficult to get into and I don't like any of the characters from what clips I've seen on Youtube. BA was actually funny, but its gimmick would probably get stale by episode 2. Still, at least I'd watch it instead of ignoring it.

As much as I'd like to believe that, I'm pretty sure Michael just wanted to make an aussie version of R&M and do whatever the fuck he wants with it without putting too much thought into anything.

I agree with this, though there's something fascinatingly hilarious about how a guy simply doing whatever the hell he wants accidentally came across as a "deconstruction" of how overwritten Season 3 is. If Harmon gave less of a shit about wanting to be "deep" ever since his divorce, the season would have been better received and a lot of the same themes would have probably made it into the writing anyway (just more subtly).

So is this the kind of humor only funny to non-Aussies? Or do regular Australians find it funny too?
