We've criticized a lot of things about Zombie Simpsons--the writing, animation, the voice acting, yadda yadda. But nobody's yet mentioned why Al Jean has been allowed to be dictator for life when they used to change showrunners every two seasons.
Putting aside the fact that anyone different might have allowed a fresh perspective for the show, Fuhrer Al also continues to insist the show is as good or better than it was in Season 4 and absolutely won't accept or acknowledge any evidence to the contrary. They complained about Mike Scully, but he quit after a couple seasons, not continued to hold on for 20 or whatever the fuck it is.
Plus Jean is one of the most well-known Lisa worshipers on the staff and is one of the reasons why she gets vastly more screentime than she should.
everyone else involved wanted the show to end after season 11-12, Jean wanted more riches and kept the show going
