The desperation on Pratt's face and Lee Pace selling the stunned reaction of a guy who just had all the wind taken out of his sails make this scene work

this looks like shit

Here are the only good scenes from Iron Man 2:

youtube.com/watch?v=4LIIhSHgjTw

youtube.com/watch?v=Nx2mhPEr7kA

youtube.com/watch?v=TN05EuY_Xmg

>I have nothing to prove to you.

I'm still upset that Thanos let Ronan talk mad shit about him to his face in that movie and Thanos just took it like a bitch.

man that drone scene is really peak Genndy isn't it?

youtu.be/HCjPBpdlccM

It's great. A shame they went in the wrong direction with War Machine and started slimming him down until he was basically just grey Iron Man. I'm glad the Russos understand the appeal of the character enough that they've bulked him up again for Infinity War and Endgame.

youtube.com/watch?v=_bW-pxp_U9k
This is literally the best thing the MCU has ever produced

youtube.com/watch?v=7i574Em3IrI

I will never get tired of watching this. It's so brilliant

youtube.com/watch?v=rLL11dEMGdU

Go back in time 5, no, even 3 years and tell people that in a few years audiences will be cheering for Thor simply showing up.

You forgot:

youtu.be/nJn1LjLaNVQ

I always wished that WM got more time to show off in that movie.

He was bulky in CW too.

It's also fun how they reference it later with Cap mentioning how many times he's punched Hitler.

>He was bulky in CW too.
Yeah, true. Either way, the Russos know what people want from War Machine better than Whedon ever did.

You forgot to mention that it's Thor showing up wielding Stormbreaker with fucking Rocket Raccoon and Groot at his side.

We've come a long way, baby.

Ah yes, back when Black Widow was cool. She wouldn't be remotely interesting again until Winter Soldier.

People always liked Thor though, they just didn't like the movies.

Speaking of IW:

youtu.be/Ut7W8H5D_Qw

I could post literally every fight scene from this movie, because they're all so fucking good.

watching this just reminds me of what a complete pussy Thor was in the original Avengers.

youtu.be/htdN2_9qq8s
youtu.be/gVpWZCSqQEA

Still fucking mad they wasted Klaue like that, especially after building him up in AoU.

Banner's quip completely ruins it.

I see you are a man of taste as well.

We REALLY needed more scenes like this pre-CW.

Ant-man has got the coolest powers

Hypest moment of the Endgame trailer was unironically seeing that Ant-Man was going to get another creative smol fight scene

DDS2 Punisher was so based. A shame they completely ruined him in his own series.

If only they got the character and motivations as right as they got the Frankings.

Such an absurd durability feat. I'm 99% sure they put this in just because they were butthurt over everyone saying [any given DC hero] could trash him. "Oh yeah?" say the Russos "Well Thor can tank a star. Not like, he can survive standing on the surface of the star, but he can survive the ENTIRE OUTPUT OF A STAR CONCENTRATED INTO A BEAM AND FIRED
DIRECTLY AT HIM. Let's have that fucking rematch Deathbattle."

I mean, he is a god so it's not that crazy

Also I wouldn't say he "tanked" it

I was really hoping we'd get something about him surviving as an echo inside the vibranium after the credits or something. Oh well.

I almost felt sorry for him. Like all you had to do was stay quiet. Why the fuck would you try to upsell a complete stranger with kiddie porn?

>If only they got the character and motivations as right as they got the Frankings.
No, at some point he picks up a bigger semi-auto gun, shoots it twice, and then throws it for a pistol. These shows were so afraid to have guns glorified that they advertised DDs2 with Frank using the chain gun against the Hand only for him to shoot like three with a rifle from a distance

I like that they gave Thor a much needed power up. Even as a DCfag, I always hated how comparatively underpowered the MCU characters were.

I'm crossing my fingers, hoping he'll come back eventually, but I feel delusional by this point.

Attached: 1553044501052.webm (1920x800, 2.96M)

Damn I remember how bad I felt after he says that

DDS2 Punisher was just hype moment after hype moment. Made his actual solo series an even bigger let down.

obligatory
youtube.com/watch?v=mCXUwokL5GA

I don't see how he didn't. He needed the hammer to recover from it, but then as soon as he had the hammer he was 100%, better than 100% because he went on to wreck Thanos' army and then Thanos himself. So the implication here is that if he has his hammer he can tank a star. So for any given matchup from here on out you need to ask yourself two questions: does he have his hammer, and does the other guy have a power output that matches the entire, concentrated power of a neutron star?

Seeing Thanos absolutely manhandle Hulk in the span of roughly 50 seconds was a very eye opening experience. I don't think I had a good comprehension of how powerful Thanos actually was and seeing him pull this off seemingly without using the power stone is unreal.
youtube.com/watch?v=kO5WPKT0690

Attached: maxresdefault (2).jpg (1280x720, 287K)

The look on Thor's face when Cap makes it budge a bit, kek

Well that's what I mean, he needed the axe to recover. Before that, he was toasted

my favourite scene in season is when we see pilgrim at the motel tending his wounds along with flashbacks on how he got each of them

According to the Russos, Thanos could've won on Titan even without using the gauntlet. I would've liked to have seen that.

I have to give it to Dr Strange using the Time Stone to basically cheat to win
youtube.com/watch?v=iwLaB_O6IWg

In a movie full of great scenes, these two are still my favorite.
youtube.com/watch?v=E486XjhYHh8
youtube.com/watch?v=rUpvwMLHdUE

I thought this too until I realized he takes a good beating in most every movie he's in, often to highlight some other character's strength

The subtle lighting change from blue to red to green while Toomes realizes that Peter is Spiderman is just a fantastic touch in a fantastic scene.

I don't give two shits if this is meme tier, I loved this scene and what it represented.
>Pain is an old friend.
youtube.com/watch?v=yKAfwBPvsMA
youtube.com/watch?v=tZyUxqBvMBE

I'm willing to say yes with the exception being Strange. When it comes right down to it, Thanos is just a thug. A literal Titan physiology, but still just a bruiser.

Attached: doctor-strange-benedict-cumberbatch.jpg (2158x1136, 1.3M)

I mean, that was bound to happen. Netflix has a shoe string budget and it couldn't be 13 hours of Frank murdering people.

BLONSKY, NOW YOU'RE UP!
>This scene gave me hope for a Captain America movie.
youtu.be/taLO2yKqxRg?t=168

Attached: 4141785-emil+blonsky+edited.jpg (515x252, 68K)

yea, that was nice

Homecoming Toomes was fucking delightful start to finish. Playing the audience with the Liz "Toomes" reveal, when any existing Spider-Man fan would assume "Liz" was Liz Allan, was particularly inspired.

What's great about that scene is that instead of the conventional route of killing the badguy, or bad gy killing himself, it's just Strange outsmarting a god and forcing him to leave via a stalemate

Yeah, okay, but he's got the axe now.

NACHO!

Making Liz mix-raced kinda helped with no-one seeing the twist coming

Banner ruins everything. Literally the worst part of the MCU.

Captain America/Chris Evans has all the best scenes
youtube.com/watch?v=6rCWBQQ9yAA

Attached: You missed him.gif (800x480, 423K)

He really is. Nobody likes his weird Banner, just his modeled face for Hulk

I love this speech, but some weird Mandela effect made me remember him saying at the end "We are both of us war relics" for some reason

Infinity War was just chock full of anime fights honestly

I feel pathetic for getting a bit of a lump in my throat because of this scene...pathetic

Sweating fucking bullets.

youtube.com/watch?v=f_LZU7TdvWA
>when that music kicks in
>the choreography
ffffffffffuck I still get so fucking hype

youtube.com/watch?v=KjQydUfJBuM
youtube.com/watch?v=udKE1ksKWDE
Maybe I'm biased cause this was the first movie I ever saw in 3d, but even without that gimmick, the whole battle just plays out so well. The scene transitions, the way everyone does different things and fuck it, I still love that Banner to Hulk moment. This whole fight is just fucking satisfying to watch.

What a waste of budget that woman was.

Ronan looks like he's about to cry, before Gamora breaks the surreal quality of the situation by not playing along. Had she started dancing too Ronan might have broken up a little bit.

>I've lost it, haven't I? In this moment of triumph, the Power stone has surely broken my mind. It's not fair. It's not fair!

I never noticed the crunch sound with the backhand. Thor's skull fucking shattered.

Seriously. Always thought this was pretty cool.

Attached: dance off.gif (487x215, 2M)

Yes, you must pretend t be a tough guy for the other kids in your cyber club-house.

God Arnim Zola was so fucking creepy.

Another scene I really liked in Dr Strange was the ancient one’s death scene

I can't tell if this is bait or not

>It's not about you

actually not a bad scene

I'm sure I'm a minority, but if they removed and wrote around Jane this would be my favorite Thor movie. I think Thor (like Cap and Widow) should be more serious and less comedic as character.

I remember when people online were bitching that having Cap be a war bond mascot would ruin the character.

That stone either isn't real or has a trap inside it

gotg 2 is the best thing that came out of the MCU.

Every scene with Steve and Bucky.

Attached: 1550282033702.jpg (1446x2008, 284K)

>the slow-mo lightning in the night sky
>”just so I can watch the snow”
Pure Kino

This version of Zola was great. Such a great surprise appearance. I kind of wish we'd see him again but probably not at this point.

BEst scene is the Skrull mindscan

Maybe because without the gauntlet as a failsafe he would have been more alert, meaning he might have used all his combat prowess, strategy and tricks to win, instead of just tanking shit head on.

>makes him say thank you

Fucking based

There's a lot of good stuff in Ragnarok, but the comedy just killed it for me.

I always liked this scene because it showed early on in the Marvel movies they could put characters with wildly different levels of superpowers in a scene and still make it interesting.

Same for me. I could dig the GotG-like ambience but I would have preferred they didn't take the humor from it as well, if there's one thing this movie did not need was that kind of silly humor. Doesn't help that the jokes were predictable as hell.
youtube.com/watch?v=uMYPRc0tYm8 this is honestly one of the best moments of the movie for me, just the silent zooming in on Odin set up pretty great that shit was gonna go down.

THAT. FUCKING. PSYCHO CRUSHER.

So did that indicate Steve COULD lift Mjolnir if it's life or death, but in that instance it simply didn't him because it's just a party game?

I think it's mostly a reference to the fact cap has lifted it in the comics and a nod to the fact Steve is the worthiest of the other avengers. Though it is possible in a moment of despair he could lift it.

I feel like no one gives the director's credit for basically re-enacting how Cap lost Bucky in the comics at 1:35 but the way it happens is shifted because it's a different universe.

Ragnarok is still my favorite GotG movie.

The movie had plenty of serious moments and darkness.

In that sense it's mine too, because I actually care about some of it's characters.

>tfw Alan Menken wrote this
Fucking legend, too bad they'll literally have no excuse to use him again.

Attached: qiMjOdm.png (1280x1380, 1.48M)

That HAS to be one of the What If episodes.

Not the best, but it's always been one of my favorites: youtube.com/watch?=DsUCRcK7QYc

I saw this in a packed theater on opening weekend, and this was the point I and the audience erupted with laughter and applause.

Think you messed the link up

And I fucked up the link.

A classic

Where is the Fleetwood Mac?

youtube.com/watch?v=Ce2a0wWtnJA

youtube.com/watch?v=RXbFP2V_zSA
I love it whenever a soundtrack lifts a scene into greater heights.

I still love that one second shot of the oil splattering on War Machine's faceplate.

maybe you should post an example of that

no u

I honestly love watching MCU movies in my local city theater. It's really a special experience in a hyped crowd but it's a slippery slope into being plain annoying.

This chokes me up every time. Star Spangled Man is also great. If only we got full scenes of Cap and co. destroying Hydra bases instead of a montage, with action like Winter Soldier.

Attached: Hey, you might've destroyed my magic flute, but you can't destroy the musical magic that i (500x200, 1.98M)

I figure it's unfair to just post the entirety of Winter Soldier.

Civil War was pretty crap but I like what they did with Zemo, and T'Challa got more character development here than in his own movie.
m.youtube.com/watch?v=R4zOqbYLJ2Q

I actually dug this scene a lot, and then afterwards when she drags him but doesn't harm him further. But to me the best one was when she's floating in space, without helmet, in high orbit. Full blown "kino".

Assault on Tony's mansion is the only good part of Iron Man 3 youtube.com/watch?v=ZSkPbi_r4PU

People like to shit on this scene but I really enjoyed it. Everyone is perfectly in character and it's perfectly acted. Fuck you, meme harder, faggots.

CMfags are so fucking desperate

>most of the scenes are poor cgi, quips or forced drama
Fucking hell, absolute state of Yea Forums
Funny how many of these relies on the audience be either braindead monkeys or "geeks" scum and has literally zero value on it's own.
It's a shame that people even consider this tv-tier trash as a movies.

>dat loki proud of his brother smirk
loki deserves all the love he gets

it's literally just brown dudes that hate that Saldana is white property.
Women of color and white men love the scene.

The Mandarin twist with Ben Kingsley being some random English cunt. Hate it all you want fags, I got a good laugh out of it.

I like to think this was the best day of hulk's life

His monologue in the cemetery to Daredevil back in season 1 is downright mesmerizing.
youtube.com/watch?v=z7CNy9_kfpw

This was, bar none, the best fight scene in the movie, primarily due to the choreography. That's the benefit of having it be between two CGI characters in what I assume is a CGI set.

Ah, the Worf Effect.

I agree with that completely. Drives me nuts whenever I see it. They did him dirty in this movie.

I know it's corny but it still gets stuck in my head.

Attached: 8743.jpg (710x473, 71K)

So did the GOTG movies. But they were better at balancing it out, not killing every single moment with a joke.

It’s in character, but I was a such a huge fan of DnA’s Quill, this was the exact moment I realized I would never be seeing the version of Star-Lord I loved. He was going to be a goof forever now.

Same, the dialogue is somehow corny yet serious. Probably because Swinton is great

And then -- poof, one moment she's there and then she isn't.
Brings to mind a much more poetic quote from a different source material:
>It all just disappears, doesn't it? Everything you are, gone in a moment... like breath, on a mirror.

It lacked a punch. Pratt can't act for shit, hence why he is in a movie about Sonic.

Honestly, even though he was completely different from his comic book persona, I loved Berenthal's take on Frank for the most part. Probably could have played a more stoic and muted comic accurate version of the character too.

DnA Quill would have done something similar in that situation though, probably not dancing, but he would have pulled something ridiculous out of his ass and made a quip or two along the way.

DnA Quill was basically Han Solo mixed with Mal Reynolds, so dancing actually might not have been completely beyond the pale.

throw a little John Crichton in there too

youtube.com/watch?v=dC7rmOAHoEc

I still love how Loki kind of freaks the fuck out in Ragnarok when Hulk shows up in the arena.

The only moment where you could argue the tension was undercut in a significant way was after Asgard was destroyed.

Maybe I just don't like funny Thor but a lot in this movie I just groaned and rolled my eyes and fell out of the movie. It was just too much too often for me. But I didnt care much for GotG1 either I guess.

I didn't even think that was really a big deal because like 5 minutes prior to that Odin gave him the whole "Asgard is a people not a place" spiel

No way is IM2 the worst MCU flick. Not while Thor 2 and IM3 are still in existence.

IM3 is a fine movie aside from the shitty villain. IM2 is a shitty movie and has a shitty villain. Based Hammer couldn't save it.

His Infinity War armour is fucking amazing. I think they may have over-bulked him in Endgame, but this right here is the sweet spot, and he was definitely the second most effective Avenger during the Wakanda battle behind Thor.

>virtually all of Infinity War

IM2 was ruined by letting Mickey Rourke give them suggestions.

I have a lot of problems with civil war, but these two were just fantastic.
I hope they bring Zemo back eventually and that T'Challa can be the actual protagonist of his next movie.

That's what happens when you have people who hate guns, violence, and the idea of an unhinged war vet killing drug dealers and criminals, writing for a character who is all of those things.

They completely ruined the Punisher, by making him an Italian American Jason Bourne. Killing mercs and soldiers is safe territory in tv/film. Nobody gets upset seeing guys in body armor getting shot. But having Frank Castle killing gangbangers and pimps would upset all the journalists, so they neutered the character, and also gave us a bunch of family bullshit

This. Everyone bitches about muh Mandarin but nobody seems to care about the abomination conglomeration that was Mickey Rourke's Whiplash/Dynamo. And for that matter I've never seen anyone complain about Stane essentially being a completely different character in the MCU.

Gamora's honest "nuh-huh" head shake is actual kino.

By the looks of it, either today or tomorrow, Phase 3 of the MCU is about to become what would be the highest-grossing film franchise of all time all on its own.

YAS QWEEEN!!!

Dang, I never got to appreciate how badass his was, until now.

Fuck off, Genndy wars is canon, period.

please tell me how you measure objective value

MCU Hulk is honestly a joke, how could you respect it after AoU?

canon doesn't mean good

>make a super soldier
>plan to only use him for propaganda

were they retarded?

>the scene immediately after that's a slam cut into drab, washed out war-time europe with actual soldiers

Unironic kino.

They wanted an army and assumed one man couldn't make a difference because he could still be shot, stabbed, drowned, bombed, etc and they'd be out a billion dollars worth of research. This is like the whole theme of the movie, user: one man can change everything.

Welcome to comics

It's real. The only timeline Strange viewed where they won had Tony alive and Thanos with all the gems. Strange was trying to ensure that timeline happened

It was predictable as fuck, but I still got a giant grin on my face when this motherfucker showed up again.

there's very few scenes like this, everything is about battling villains over and over.

He's not in that movie anymore

I can see why he'd want to go with nanotech after this.

My man. I'm glad that War Machine finally lives up to his name. Mark 1 version from IM2 is still my favorite though.
>He was bulky in CW too.
Just barely. He still had that stupid tiny miserable gun on his shoulder. Also he fought with some weird energy club for reason.

I agree with everyone else, WM never not looks cool.

>Mark 1 version from IM2 is still my favorite though.
It's the loss of the big fucking gatling gun, for me. Anything else just pales in comparison, regardless of how much of a practical upgrade it may be. It's sorely missed even on his badass IW suit

Attached: warmachine.png (602x1227, 823K)

Technically not MCU yet, but damn if it isn't the coolest intro to a superhero movie I've seen yet.

WARMACHINEROX, you might say.

Not him but I really, really liked how he really was pulling his weight in IW and was doing the most damage to Thanos' forces before Thor arrived.

youtube.com/watch?v=TuabnmFtzHY
Based Russos make War Machine great again.

shame it got cut to shit, the fight should've been much longer, it's Destroyer ffs

Those continuing tracking shots...this is so well directed.

youtube.com/watch?v=JFw2SryZa-Y

Even though the CGI during the final BP vs. Killmonger fight wasn't any good, the rest of the final battle was incredible. Everything was so good. The setting, Border Patrol siding with Killmonger, "I NEVER YIELDED! AND AS YOU CAN SEE, I AM NOT DEAD!", the way he grabs the spear and destroys the gunship with it after blowing everyone else away, etc. The music really sells it too.

>that shot at 8 seconds when he's just shooting and firing missiles into the bad guys
I just want a whole movie or short tv series of that. Is that too much to ask for?

I'd love a mini-series about War Machine bringing peace to the middle east

See, that's how you make a completely one-sided fight scene fun, unlike Thor Ragnarok's opening or Captain Marvel's escape from the ship.

im starting to make this cosplay. i cant wait

>peace to the middle east
the peak of fantasy

I'd almost forgotten about the war rhinos. Nothing says badass like fucking war rhinos.

Note that by "peace" I mostly mean bullets.

War Machine really needs to have a solo where he's just flying into war zones fucking shit up.

How did Iron man become so good at CQC?

We see him boxing with Happy in IM2 and it's implied that he's always done martial arts/boxing as a hobby.

>Stop! L-listen to me! You are a God! If you kill me, you'll be just like everyone else!
>What's so wrong with that?
Fuck

Still hoping he can tap into his half celestial powers though.

i think that's the point. he gave up his powers to save the galaxy

What the fuck are you blabbering about?

>Assault on Tony's mansion is the only good part of Iron Man 3
youtube.com/watch?v=pa7BBLAL1i0
Nah MK 42 suit up by far.

I always assumed that was just a joke and Happy went easy on him, since he backs out of Widow's challenge.

I really wanna pick away what's left of the eye with my fingernail.

>>i think that's the point. he gave up his powers to save the galaxy
>dooms half of it in I.W
....

have sex

Go full /k/-core with it and have the villain be Firebrand, who in this instance is an upper middle class commie given powers and a suit to wage anti-capitalist, anti-western, and anticolonial war against the USA and its MIC by a bunch of multinational corporations intending to exploit the conflict for profits.

Tony's transhumanist themes are the most interesting part of his character. I love the idea of him gradually becoming more of a cyborg over time.

I think it's implied that he started learning self-defense after coming back from Afghanistan, which adds up.

>And for that matter I've never seen anyone complain about Stane essentially being a completely different character in the MCU.
Probably because Movie Stane was great.

Remember when he analyzed Cap's fighting style in Civil War? His suit's probably doing most of the movement.

I don't think so. I think he say it because he knows how powerful he is.

It Just makes me feel, the noble sacrifice.
youtube.com/watch?v=hY_EKoPtOhc

He murdered his father. He didn't think of containment or justice, he just skipped right ahead to patricide, and nobody saw anything wrong with this.

Perhaps you missed the part where he was detonating his spores across the universe in an attempt at genocide on a scale matched only by Thanos?

There REALLY needs to be a WM movie or another IM movie. Honestly, they kinda didn't do either that much justice in their own movies.

lame

Ragnarok is the only good Thor movie

Thanos would have killed Tony after he got the time stone but he didnt...bad writing

How hard is it to pause the quips and epic references for a second to say something like "hey, dad, stop this shit or we'll kill you". And then you get to keep the god powers, keep the planet intact so Yondu doesn't die, and bring him to justice if he stops, or at least maintain a relative moral high ground if he doesn't.

Are you retarded

He made a bargain. Thanos does have a code of honor, twisted as it is.

>Thanos does have a code of honor
Why did he kill Heimdall?

> youtube.com/watch?v=8VuSLiiQMLc&list=PLBx1OAyPpvafAbYASZsPlUaXLzEXnvE8D&index=3&t=0s
And yet in the second season of his own show he lets guy that shoots the stuff walk free

RIP Netflixverse

>DDS2
Frank beats a man to death with a baseball bat for selling CP

>Punisher S2
Frank lets a man who runs a CP operation live and burns all evidence that he was ever involved with CP because some dumb slut told him to

Really makes you think

Why should he have NOT killed Heimdall, from his perspective? I did say his code was twisted. Remember, this is the same guy that goes around arbitrarily wiping out 50% of the population on different planets.

the "Oh. My. God." still cracks me up.

People meme about how The Avengers doesn't hold up but it had lots of kino moments.

You should feel pathetic for feeling pathetic.

Steve's suit is so bad, but he'd still so great

Dagger flip and flying knee always get me.

Just looked it over. Thanos used EXCLUSIVELY shots to the throat (like 3-4 times), the face (at least three near the end), gut (once), and kidneys (2 times that I counted). He was fucking surgical.

THe first time I saw this movie, when I got to this scene I started bawling. My dad died when I was young and this just broke me.

I know that feel user. I think that's why GOTG rates so high for me, they just really nail the emotional stuff in a way that hits home super hard for me on top of everything else that's fun about them.

Kraglin's scream of raw emotion is what gets me the most in that clip.

I feel like this scene demonstrates the director has an firm understanding of MCU strange, but is limited by the fact he had to do a origin story.

Oh yeah, do tell me how Thanos would've defeated bleeding edge iron man, if it weren't for 70s manchild waking him up.

Apparently says Thanos alone was enough to take them all on even if they'd gotten the gauntlet off him.

I think Thor 1 is terrific, and I think the Jane stuff was integral to Thor's growth. Thor only became boring when The Dark World reduced Jane to a macguffin and turned the subtle politics of the first Thor into an alien invasion film. I would kill to have a Thor 2 where it's all about Odin trying to maneuver a weakened Bifrost-less Asgard around the machinations of the other Nine Realms, most prominently the Dark Elves who loaned Odin the Dark Energy needed to send Thor to Earth in the Avengers film. And Thor is caught between his love for Jane and his father who needs Thor to do sneaky political maneuverings to keep Asgard safe.

youtube.com/watch?v=9lO2OWK5aXk
I admire this scene a lot for cramming so much implicit and explicit character interactions into such a short space of time. In a film full of action and overrun with plot lines you needed a scene like this of people talking then shouting, to really sell the division, and this scene nails it.

>mfw i never noticed Howard sadly say "Sargent Barnes"

thats fucking deep. that just made the scene so much deeper for me

Attached: 1547358857485.png (800x800, 482K)

The dragonball stuff was dumb.

She just didn't work for me. Maybe I would have preferred him learning to value humans without having to "fall in love", it felt too... mortal. I don't know, I like my Thor a little more otherworldly.

Dark World was just terrible though.

It's been converted to 60fps, when movies are usually 24fps

youtube.com/watch?v=ufoZw9I0CXM
For all the crap X-Men Apocalypse gets, I liked Apocalypse in it, especially this scene. "No more superpowers."

I liked the waterfalls fights best

Guardians 2 had tons of flaws and all that, but its ending is definitely the best one in the MCU. Wish Endgame could deliver a similarly emotional ending.

That was awful

I disagree. I liked the actor who did Apocalypse. The movie had its flaws but it wasn't that bad.

Still youtube.com/watch?v=yRhRZB-nqOU and will always be youtube.com/watch?v=yRhRZB-nqOU

Fuck Disney Marvel. Vacuous schlock to be consumed by the mewling masses. You take one part who aspires to be vacuous (Disney) and another part who is apt to be vacuous unless they diligently ward against is (comics in general) and big surprise that you get gruel.

>Yeah! Mark Ruffalo... uh? Uh?

cant believe i just shed a tear to that

goddammit

When you can end your movie with a talking raccoon crying during a firework show/space burial and legit get a tear out of me, you done good.

I thought the movie itself was aggressively mediocre but I’m a total pussy for well done father/son scenes. Other user above with the Yondu funeral has it right

>This isn't gonna change what happened.
>I don't care, he killed my mom.
I have lots of problems with Civil War, namely that the real conflict at the core of the movie had absolutely nothing to do with the Accords, or that the airport fight scene was one of the visually blandest things the MCU ever put out.

But holy fuck, this exchange worked SO WELL. It took Tony from a well-meaning asshole for the majority of the movie to someone I think almost all of us could relate to. Yeah, Bucky was under mind control. Yeah, he regrets it immensely. But Tony just watched the guy next to him choke his mother to death on video. That would send any person flying over the edge immediately.

youtube.com/watch?v=kjiSVunIWpU
good kino

I don't get it when people say Tony was unreasonable and OOC in Civil War. Every appearance he has after The Avengers indicates that his near-death experience kick-stated his mid-life crisis and shows him constantly tumbling down and making mistakes that he has no one but himself to blame, it's perfectly reasonable that when he's in his "make peace with my troubled relationship with my parents" stage that he completely snaps and attempts to kill his parents murderer.

What's DnA?

Lurk moar

Nickname for the writing team of Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning

I think he could lift it but pretended he couldn't because he didn't want to make Thor feel bad.

MCU thanos is generally pretty chill. Very secure in his own power and purpose, he doesn't feel a need to engage with Ronan, so long as he does what he wants.

Contrast with comic thanos who's almost defined by his latent insecurity and roaring arogance.

When did you realise Ronan was tripping balls on Odium every time he was on camera?

Legitimately, unironically my favorite victory in the MCU. It's super clever and i was halfway just expecting him to reforge the seals 'in the nick of time!' or whatever.

>you're old pal, SPIDERMAN!
Im so glad they didn't kill off Vulture, I look forward to seeing him again.

Watch out here comes my arrow, it flies super fast and kills everyone

Suitcase suit scene is awesome. Perfect. The score is based as well.

Meanwhile the nanosuit scene in IW is boring and looks fake.

Audiences cheered because Thor ended the tedium of the Wakanda battle, in which Cap's team had zero interaction with each other.

Gunn is like Whedon in that the stupid jokes are his comfort zone, the emotional moments are outside his comfort zone and he is at his best when he fully embraces the story and characters.

this shit had me bawling. Seriously Winter Soldier was so fucking well done. I have no idea why people think Civil War is better. WS still remains in my Top 5 of the MCU.

youtube.com/watch?v=HEqJpzAH8X0

They made Danny cool for an entire episode

If only they hadn't rushed his show, he could have been this good from the start.

His suit can't do that without wifi, unless he had some silent backup Friday running.

that "how about that" is legendary

Based Whedon

Yeah, the nanobots, while a lateral move, really took away the cool factor of those moving pieces suit-ups we got from the earlier films
youtube.com/watch?v=HpX1mDEw1gk

This is actually comedically so genius, so fucking genius. It shouldn't work but it fucking does. And we hate it for it.

Iron Man is actually pretty scary when he isn't quipping. I guess it's the "Spidey Effect" of being a faceless god-knows-what when you don't have the charming human personality to remind you that he's still a person.

>no fucking hallway fights

Fuck off.

man, liv tyler's DSL fffffff

Also, if TIH had The Avengers Hulk's design it'd be about 25% better.

Lowkey mad we didn't get a scene with Cap vs. Hulk in the movies ever. The Ultimates had an amazing scene with him just jobbing Hulk that was especially badass.

>Liking anything from this mediocre flick

Him becoming especially quippy is actually sign he's more depressed in my head cannon.

Most people who joke away everything are the ones who suffer from depression the most.

Iron Man was fighting Cap in an abandoned missile bunker in the middle of nowhere. You really think he had wifi there? His suits is just a portable computer and the AI is always in the suit

BASED

I agree 100 percent. As a finale to the X-Men prequel saga and as a nemesis to Prof. X Apocalypse was great.

Oscar Isaac was an amazing Apocalypse in acting. The design and the story is questionable, obviously.

Man, Kraglin is so based throughout. When he frees Yondu going "they killed all my friends", I really felt for him.

Fuck, I'd forgotten how emotional this scene is.

>the AI is always in the suit
IW established that's not the case, he loses the AI when leaving Earth.

Marvels for girls
You chicks are all fags

that's not the scene where Talos meets his kid

>braaaap

That headbutt exchange is great because it really shows the powerlevels.

I would like more songs in the MCU, not like a song playing while the characters fight or get ready like GotG and Ragnarok but like a song the characters get involved in

>If only we got full scenes of Cap and co. destroying Hydra bases instead of a montage, with action like Winter Soldier.
I haven't seen this movie in a while but this would've pulled it from a 7/10 to an 8/10 imo. It NEEDED a big action sequence like that and we got blueballed hard man.

I liked the introduction to the Guardians in Infinity War with them singing Rubberband Man

That sequence was great.
>funky music starts playing in background
>cut to deep space
>SPACE appears onscreen -- completely unnecessary, completely uninformative, and absolutely perfect as a punchline
By now the audience has twigged and is absolutely pumped when we cut to the Benatar.

civilians helping tthe hero is so rare nowadays

it's always epic battles with villains

There also needs to be more casual interactions between heroes on the same team if you want to actually bill them as friends and not just coworkers.

Hey, Quill. You know when those Celestial Powers would have come in handy? Well do ya? Bitch.

Attached: Thanos' Infinity Boot.png (500x500, 98K)

I can't believe they pulled off the Death and Return of Superman in live-action.

It's insane how seldom Rocket gets to use his guns. I think he peaked at doing so in Infinity War when he was allowed to shoot down a lot of Thanos' troops

Thanos said it himself, he wasn't going to get angry at Ronin because he saw him as little more than a toddler throwing a tantrum. Why the fuck would the god sink to his level?

I like how Ant Man threw away his freedom and rebuilt reputation because he automatically assumed: FLAG MAN-GOOD, STARK MAN-BAD when Cap's big goal in this movie was just to save Bucky

youtu.be/-datsLfueV0
I know everybody shits on Iron Man 3 but this scene is just fantastic, i’m a real sucker for a simple hero saving civilians from danger scene.

Hell, i’d take a cape movie with no bad guys and a huge natural disaster as the antagonistic force instead. Plain old heroics are great.

Attached: 3A242D87-AC8D-4DE9-9574-D6493EE11411.gif (480x199, 969K)

I don't understand how they got Iron Man's armors perfectly, but tend to screw up with almost everyone else; that is, if they don't scoff at the idea of costumes entirely.

Weren’t Lang and Stark pretty good buddies in 616? That dynamic would have been pretty fun, and Pym would still be shitting bricks and refusing to help Scott in AM2 because he fucking hates the Stark family.

Iron Man 3 is the litmus test for the Patrician rank on the Plebeian -> Contrarian -> Patrician progression line.

here

So was Ego crumbling the prototype for the dusting

Captain America isn't some one-man army. A single bullet would put him down, at the very least out of the fight temporarily. And the propaganda loss from having your one and only supersoldier getting BTFO would be massive.

Cap REALLY punches above his weight in the comics and movies, to the point of absurdity. To counter this they have stealth buffed him throughout his history, originally he was just as strong as a human could ever hope to naturally be. Then he was a slight step above the best a human could be, now he's whatever the writer wants.

Spidey could take him, if only because of the advantage in mobility and reflexes.

It's the eternal blasters problem. Guns are too lethal, so they either have to be piss weak instead, seldom used, or stupid inacurate.

Still mad I got up to pee before this scene

user I'm mad at you for doing that

I'll never not be mad. Dr Strange became one of my favourite MCU films, and I missed the good parts because lmao cinema soda

Best part of it, for me, was seeing that Thanos' biggest advantage was that he wasn't a rage monster. He used martial arts and pressure grips to subvert/negate Hulk's strength. Granted, he had a certain level of strength to him already which let him overcome the apparent power gap with skill, but it was neat.

I don't know if I believe that, though. Tony with the nano-suit is pretty powerful, Strange is ridiculously powerful, and the Mantis ambush was a perfect use of her own abilities. I believe he would have put up an amazing fight without the stones, but it would have ended like Hulk vs Scarlet Witch. A bruiser can't beat a psychic in an ambush.

The super-Blonsky fight has legit been my low-key favorite for years. It reminds me of Prototype, fighting Blackwatch super-soldiers and the specialist. Goddamn was that fun. Probably helped that they made Hulk: Ultimate Destruction before that game.

Also makes me wonder where the sonic tanks and the proto-super-soldier serum went in MCU canon. You'd think they'd have made a few other super-soldiers by now if the process mostly worked on Blonsky... which brings me back to thinking of Fury's original plans for an Avengers team, I guess.

I think they were trying to show Tony's progression with the suit upgrades but it did take away that whole mechanicalness from earlier suits

>tfw this is the only Danny and Luke Heroes for Hire shenanigans we're going to get

>youtu.be/FWmkCV19gxU?t=202
That part where they use the bunker's openings to frame Cap and Tony fighting like comic book panels is pretty damn cool.

Man i really hope this has a payoff in endgame. That scene is kino from start to finish. Ultron should’ve been like that the entire movie

How does one bring an entire planet to justice? Especially considering that Quill is the only person who could even hope to fight him, and only at that exact moment?

unironically adorable. someone post some fungus to make me stop.

If the Thor movies embraced the 70s-80s metal album themes the entire trilogy, then they'd be the highest kino. You can see them in Thor and Dark World sort of trying to straddle a fence and it fails so badly whenever the stories intermingle. Rahnarok is full: Fuck it, we're dumb metalhead shit.
And it's fantastic.

I do like that Rogers' big moment was effectively, telling the police how to manage themselves and then directing the rest of the Avengers. He's the SUPER-soldier, so of course he's a tactical genius who can, in seconds, understand the best deployment of his forces.

Steve might have been able to lift the hammer. But he didn't NEED to. In that moment, he was not worthy of the power. I fully expected, at that point, a moment in Avengers 3, where Thor is knocked out and Steve rushes in with hammer and shield, maybe Ironman's armor locking onto him as he goes for the final fight that costs him his life.
But Mjolnir was lost in Ragnarok and Stormbreaker doesn't have that enchantment, so... oh well.

t. anons who will never break the chain.

I maintain they had to kill Yondu in this movie, to prevent him from appearing in Infinity War. He's basically a murder-prone Green Lantern who presumably works at sonic speed.

AUF! AUF! AUF! Witness the might of the J'bari, first HAND!

The idea of Stark creating increasingly specialized and streamlined armors to deal with any possible situation as a result of his PTSD of the Chitauri invasion is fantastic. Him pushing further and further into trans-humanism to ensure he's never unarmed is a subtle, clever emphasis on the theme.

Man, the Warriors Three and Sif were horribly underused, huh?

have sex.

I wasn't young, but my dad died like... a month or two before this movie came out, we kept it quiet, as much as we could. He was an alcoholic and he drank himself to death, despite having all the money and time to turn things around. He had a grandchild on the way, and I was maybe a month or two from getting my masters degree. He drank heavily, every day. But he also provided everything I and my sibling needed for our lives. It was a strange mix of pride, bitterness and happiness when we scattered his ashes in his hometown.
His brother and his childhood bestfriend, both of whom were real pieces of shit that I'd describe if this were my blog, didn't show up to the impromptu funeral following his death.
It was rough, and I had trouble explaining to my friends why this movie was so hard to watch.

Damn.

plank from ed edd and eddy has more character than her.
also he shows more emotion than her

That wasn't demi god Russo brothers Cap. That was Captain America 1 Cap.

It's nice that he saved those people but the scene was kind of undercut by him leaving everyone else on the crashing plane to die.

This scene, BP was 100 times cooler here than his movie.
>Cap gets arrested
>Rhodey's wtf look when BP takes his mask off
youtube.com/watch?v=xx7afHUuREY

If I could get more mechanical suit up scenes, I'd be a very happy person. Shit literally never gets old. I agree that the nanotech, while very cool and being a logical progression, took away from the cool /m/ aesthetic of the old suits.

Yeah, I really think the early Iron Man suits that looked and worked like proper robot suits just sold it much better and grounded the character more. The huge leaps in tech afterwards, especially the Wakanda tech just turned me off.

I don't know, I was fine with all the suits until they started literally materialising.

I know this scene wasn't completely necessary to the plot (they could have gotten the device some other way), but having Scott fight Falcon was a good way of demonstrating that'd he be able to hold his own against some boss villain later on and it not be retarded.

>It reminds me of Prototype, fighting Blackwatch super-soldiers and the specialist
I looked forward to every single encounter with a Blackwatch soldier. Just the idea of some human trained enough to even stand against Alex even for just a blip of time is goddamn terrifying. The fact that they can sometimes contend with him blow for blow at least temporarily is even moreso.

I get it kind user. I get it.

Ant-Man's movies also standout, despite their general okayness otherwise, in actually having a not terrible divorced couple and step father. By the time of Ant-Man and the Wasp everyone is on the same side and Scott's able to be on friendly terms with his ex-wife and her new husband as well as daughter and continue on with his life with new relationships.

It's not spectacular but it's a position the movies didn't really have to do with how easy it is for these sorts of relationships to fall into tried old trends for dramatic conveniences. And Ant-Man and the Wasp was stronger for the kind of comedy the supporting cast was able to do while avoiding those trends.

I love the cast of Ants. The movies feel so nice to just sit and watch.

Every scene where Ant-Man fights someone with a different power-set is fantastic. It's a crystallization of someone with perfect dodge in a fist fight.

Yeah... I sort of get why Hollywood made bank for dozens of years. Everything I saw for a year was pushing me to tears, regardless of how shameless it was in the father-son disconnect stuff.

This scene makes me think that Ant-Man could give Vulture a hard time and beat him. I also realize how similar Lang and Toomes are.

I appreciate your acceptance of my confused emotions. Additionally, every time I've talked about them on Yea Forums, I've gotten genuine, human responses. So... I dunno.
Thank you, Yea Forums.

We're all human here. We just don't show it much.

Paul Rudd carries both films on his back. The moments with him and his daughter are bar none the best parts of the Ant-Man films. I agree that his movies are pretty 3/5, but goddamnit they made me love World's Greatest Grandma.

My favorite scene of the film with no doubt, it literally screams "Here a sample of what you can expect for future Doctor Strange movies"

I hope Feige lets Derrickson go full horror in the sequel with few to none unnecesary quips

I was thinking the exact same thing

Definitely the best MCU movie by a landslide, the best moment, and the reason the only scifi franchise I give a fuck about is GOTG. Star Wars can go fuck itself compared to these movies.

Glad James Gunn is back for GOTG3 as well.

Literally only one person was clapping when I saw this in theaters.

The same moment for me is the end fight. When i watched it I thought “damn he nails strange’s character and fights”

I don't remember seeing this posted above so I thought I would. I remember being in theater watching this and absolutely losing my shit. This is Ultimate Cap territory and I was loving every minute, grinning like an idiot every single second!

I'm glad that he managed to inject a scene that both added to the plot as well as gave him an excuse to fucking cut loose with the effects/lore of the MCU. So many thinks working in unison and it's amazing.

Two super secret words.
My man.

Attached: lemurian_star_concept_art.jpg (840x434, 44K)

I love that they referenced this in the game.

Yup. Probably the best adaptated character for me in the mcu. All the key traits I like carried over
>”whatever it takes” mentality
>willing to break “rules” to win
>uses wits boosted by his natural abilities to win
>still somewhat of an ass at the end, but is humbled by his newly discovered role in the universe
Pretty hype for Strange 2 desu

>Strange scrambling to pull his life together and snapping at Christine like an absolute piece of shit
>his first meeting with the Ancient One and the multiversal trip
>the Ancient One stranding Strange on Mount Everest
>the Oath astral plane brawl and the cute back-and-forths between Strange and Christine
>him getting derailed by murdering a guy and confronting the Ancient One and Mordo over it
>the New York-Mirror Dimension chase
>the Ancient One's death scene
>rewinding the destruction in Hong Kong and bargaining with Dormammu
Doctor Strange was so fucking good. I've seen anons already brought up the AO's death, so I'd like to bring attention to Strange dealing with killing for the first time, I loved that. It really emphasized how different Strange is from the rest of the MCU heroes and his nature as (both literally and figuratively) healer.

My only problems with the movie are the lack of magic, poor jokes and poor conveyance of training time. Otherwise I really liked it. I hope derrickson goes all-out in the sequel especially after IW

By that point in the movie Cap knew about the other winter soldiers and figured Zemo was on his way to activate them.

Well, you're never as cool at home as you are in the streets.

youtu.be/y64PmPGIM-Y?t=115 I like this scene. IM3 had some good moments

So I've noticed a distinct lack of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in this thread.

>Mack officially making the shotgun axe
>Coulson's arm being cut off
>Shield-arm reveal
>Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider
>Fitz screaming at the Monolith
>Terrigenesis
>Final confrontation with Jiaying
>Simmons killing LMD Fitz

You forgot
>Mister...?
>Doctor
>Mister Doctor?
>It's... Strange
>Maybe. Who am I to judge?

My nigga

I felt it was to explain how he could put up a fight against Thanos. It had to be almost magic. Within that context, it works fine, but I do hope that afterwards, when Thanos is dealt with and the powerlevels aren't spiking so high, they ditch the nanotech. It allowed him to face Thanos, it did it's job, now we can go back to his classic suits.

Or he could die.

This was easily the best scene in Homecoming.

I can't wait for Bucky/Falcon buddy cop antics for their show.

One of the few really good scenes from that movie.

>marvel CINEMATIC universe

Thor was one of the ones I realized was a lot better than I originally thought. Especially after shit like Justice League.

Goddamn if that Stark Expo entrance scene doesn't still give me chills. What a fucking ride. I never understood how IM2 was considered so bad but in retrospect, it was obviously better executed than most of the ones that came after.

Lol, that one guy.

BUMP!

That was intense

>DnA’s Quill
You have outrageously high expectations for the MCU.
Just turn off your brain.

>I'll kill you dead.
On the surface this is a stupid line but Keaton's delivery is masterful.

Gunn just took parts of Englehart Quill, Giffen/DnA Quill, and Starhawk and threw them in a blender with Chris Pratt and 70s pop. It's a fine take on the character.

It has so many good elements but was hurt by its inability to cohesively tie them together and by Mickey Rourke.

The whole campus battle was wonderful. Those sonic weapons mounted on hummers was just comic-booky enough.

One day this movie will be appreciated as the kino that it is. This fight is great, and the final battle with abomination is awesome.
>Hulk uses a squad car as boxing gloves
fucking great

The best part about this scene is that Toomes has zero power in this situation, really. But just his force of personality and menace is enough to sell that he could kill Peter then and there if he didn't comply.

The movie was a mess but this scene at the end was great.

AoU was the one instance were Fiege (or someone else at the top) fucked over a movie for the sake of the larger universe.

There's some really great stuff throughout the movie, but the pacing gets busted because of the middle section. I think they learned their lesson between that and IM2 though, because that problem hasn't really persisted at all.

Was this posted yet?

>AoU was the one instance were Fiege (or someone else at the top) fucked over a movie for the sake of the larger universe
That's really just Iron Man 2. I think AoU is just kinda bloated with a lot of stuff going on. Aside from Klaue and the vibranium setup (which makes sense on paper, even if it wasn't great in execution) I can't think of where the film really deviates to purposely just set up something else.

The final scene of Infinity Wars. I wish I have that same moment of absolute inner peace Thanos has.

The whole Ragnarok dream sequence, which is the worst part of the movie (and barely even relates to Ragnarok).

Quite Titanicesque.

>Best MCU scene
No.

>The whole Ragnarok dream sequence
I completely forgot that scene happened, which only proves how right you are. I feel that that really comes down to not knowing what to do with Thor though. It's definitely meant to support the larger universe narrative, but I feel like it only came about because they had no clue what to do with Thor's character like everyone did up until Ragnarok.

Yeah, if you asked me to describe the scene to you right now, I couldn't. I just know that it happened.

Apparently Whedon only agreed to put it in because otherwise he wouldn't have gotten the Hawkeye's farm scene. And that's a fair compromise, because that was a great scene.

And don't get me wrong, I like putting world building and future-teasing into the movies. But it basically came down to "put something Ragnarok related in there, and we'll figure it out later" which makes things weak in retrospect.

>You know I’m 1500 years old. I’ve killed twice as many enemies as that. And every one of them would have rather killed me than not succeeded. I’m only alive because fate wants me alive. Thanos is just the latest of a long line of bastards, and he’ll be the latest to feel my vengeance. Fate wills it so.

>And what if you’re wrong?

>Well, if I’m wrong... What more could I lose?

Fuck you all for not posting the most emotional scene in the whole MCU

Attached: DcI7MWOW0AAQ760.jpg (912x518, 38K)

Nope, and I'd forgotten how good it is.

was it in 60fps in the movies? it lookes even better than I remember

Are there ANY bad scenes in IM1?

I'm not gonna lie, I can't stand the 60fps look. Maybe that makes me a pleb, but it just looks off.

Almost had me crying in the theater, 10 years of movies and it was the first one with this effect

The final fight was a bit underwhelming, maybe.

I'll try. So first Wanda shows him a vision/nightmare of Asgard all dead, similar to what she does to everyone else. Then Thor fucks off to find Selvig, and they both fuck off to find a lake in a cave. I know he goes into the lake, talks to eyeless Heimdall about Thor having fucked up, and he sees a vision of the infinity stones. And that last part at least makes sense, seeing as the Mind Stone was an important plot point. But the rest of it is only conceptual at best, probably back when they thought Ragnarok would be a serious, dark drama instead of a neon-candy colored buddy movie.

T'challa was the protagonist of black panther though? The camera mostly follows him and while the antagonist had some complaints of merit, he was also a genocidal maniac.

I agree but you did have stuff like this:

youtu.be/lpEYXaNNysM

So fucking good. I actually miss that more grounded, Top Gun feel that IM1 and 2 had.

Well, that's just how it happens when you have to make a ridiculous shared universe.

The Iron Man suits get weaker every movie too.

This was one of the first movies I saw in theaters after my grandpa’s funeral.

Attached: 6B35DE2F-05BA-4830-AE30-7810B285A394.jpg (183x169, 14K)

Also, the fact that Hank didn't bother to check if his storage locker's location hadn't changed in the years he had left it also stressed how he's a haughty douchebag who isn't always right.

>The Iron Man suits get weaker every movie too.
Doesn't feel that way to me.

I loved that Ultron's original plan was to decimate humanity and then descend upon them in a faux-Superman robot body to be mankind's one and only hero.

I really liked Iron Man 2, but I think a large measure of that was because it put across the whole Tony reacting to his imminent death from heavy metal poisoning so well. Especially with all the suicidal/dying red flags he threw up with giving his shit away, acting out, pushing loved ones away etc, made the character part of the movie feel pretty raw.

Suitcase suit was also fun.

>Yondu was a better Jor-El than DCEU Jor-El

The mind boggles.

>the most emotional scene in the whole MCU
that would be yondu's funeral

I think Thor's little existential break there is pretty good too. It's probably the most real acting Hemsworth has had to do in these movies. You can really hear how desperate he is for this plan to work and you can see his resolve in that same desperation. Its a really good scene, especially since they figured out Thor's character as a sort of honorable oaf, this scene serves as a solid reminder that he's still a well-rounded, intelligent guy underneath the playful arrogance.

oh yeah it's very good and obviously all this is subjective but yondu's funeral just works on every level as the culmination of what those movies are about which is why it takes the cake for me

Oh yeah I get you. It's an excellent farewell scene and does a great job of showcasing the themes of the Guardians movies.

If anything, they get a lot stronger. There’s also the symbolism/foreshadowing of Tony using his armour to create both hammers and shields to fight Thanos, which I actually loved. He created the armour clearly to partly do the job of his missing friends, so hopefully they can actually fight as one in Endgame.

i live in tijuana and i fucking loathe going to see any marvel or SW movies, because every pocho in existence comes and see it here

my god they clap their shit up at a movie, i could not believe my fucking eyes when a full creatura clapped at the star wars the force awakens

I think the Black Widow/Hulk romance counts as bloat. It's my least favorite thing about the film and it is dropped immediately afterwards, for good reason, but that makes it extra redundant in this film.

Though, so long as we're on the subject, this scene in Ragnarok felt like pure catharsis for how stupid it was in AOU youtube.com/watch?v=tcAR84QJW_o

It's not really dropped, since it's something of a plot point in Ragnarok and they give it a half-seconds focus in Infinity War, but it's not given a lot of attention at least partly because there's too much stuff going on. A lot of the relationships in general haven't been given their due because there's just too much else that needs to be addressed. I think it's okay in concept (a trained assassin likes the only guy who doesn't want to fight? That can be cute) but it's like a lot of stuff in AoU: it's shoved in there with everything else and the execution is poor at best.

I agree, I like it quite a bit as well in spite of the hate it gets. It's certainly not one of the best but not one of my least favorite either. Maybe I can just Downey be Stark all day long.

I like the old suits much better as well. Especially the pop open face mask rather than the "disappearing helmet", but actors gotta show their faces or whatever.

I don't know... the Widow/Banner thing feel like bloat to a degree, but only because so much was going on already. At the same time, I think we needed it to see how the Avengers as a team grew and learned to handle each other. Someone once pointed out how Avengers 1 was about them coming together, then in Avengers 2 we see them working well together and the cracks starting to form, then by Civil War it's all fallen apart.

I like how Hulk even does the same little pause before continuing smashing.

that realy doesnt mean much knowing how fucking bad homecoming was

What a wonderfully cheesy title/name drop.

Could they still do that considering Peter isn't half Celestial anymore?

>they had no clue what to do with Thor's character like everyone did up until Ragnarok.
Has everyone just forgotten the first Thor?

They may not have the power of a Celestial, but they do have the power of Friendship

Audiences certainly did.

callase tonto. pa que chingas, es un pelicula. si les gustan les gustan.

A little, yeah. The problem is that he was positioned there as an oafish but charming and ultimately good-natured romantic lead, but that dynamic couldn't really carry over to the team films. He couldn't really be the stoic, since that was Cap's job, and Hemsworth had comedic chops that were developed in the first Thor but were disregarded almost entirely afterward aside from maybe two lines in Avengers and AoU, so from Ragnarok on they wound up positioning him between Cap and Quill: He's a fighter who smirks at danger without dipping too far into overt silliness. He's good-natured and trusting, but realistic and not naive, though that still doesn't make him the most clever or intelligent person there.

underrated

Hulk x Black Widow was literally just Joss Whedon injecting his "super cool ass-kicking woman falls for effete nerd who totally isn't a stand-in for Whedon himself" fetish into yet another one of his works.

>AoU was the one instance were Fiege (or someone else at the top) fucked over a movie for the sake of the larger universe.
My guess it was Ike and the Creative Comittee, they did something like that to Gunn in GotG by making him add Thanos there when he didn't want to and Gunn only talked about it once they were gone.

Also I get the feeling Gunn probably disliked Bendis judging by the fact that he didn't have him in the credits for vol. 2 and the fact that he refused to read his GotG run and said that nothing after DnA's run interested him yet he went and acknowledged Duggan's run.

>when that music kicks in

Between Wright not wanting references to other movies like this scene with Falcon which turned out to be a nice surprise, and him intending to have Scott's relationship with Jim Paxton more antagonistic, it really seems like the movie was better off without him.

He didn't build his reputation out of nothing, user. Yondu was just that fucking good.

I hope the guy that ended up with the fin gets more screentime as a Guardian in GOTG 3. Watching him slowly climb to Yondu or near-Yondu levels with whistling practice sounds really fun. I'm kinda surprised they didn't make him a main Guardian and showcase him some in Infinity War, and it doesn't look like he'll be in Endgame either

I actually like the scene, but I think I would have preferred if they cut straight from him provoking her to her just dragging him along, let the 'Nothing to prove' speak for itself instead of beating you over the head with it

The ravager funeral is unironically one of, if not THE best scenes in the MCU.

Oh you just have bad taste then

I love the ominous music that plays when Thanos shows up.

It still irks me that people raved about WW even with its completely shit third act yet completely shat all over GotG 2 when it came out despite it being one of the most emotionally deep and character driven capefilms we’ve ever gotten.

You really are out of the loop.

This scene and movie are so underrated it makes me mad

>Also I get the feeling Gunn probably disliked Bendis judging by the fact that he didn't have him in the credits for vol. 2 and the fact that he refused to read his GotG run and said that nothing after DnA's run interested him yet he went and acknowledged Duggan's run.

I’m positive this is the case. Bendis hopping onto GotG and being very transparent about trying to influence the movie through his run was so fucking pathetic. I’m glad based Gunn dabbed on him. It’s funny too that he made such a big deal about into the spiderverse winning an Oscar when if anything the movie massively improved on what he did with Miles in terms of story and characterization.

Ant-Man and the Wasp, GotG 2, and AoU are the most criminally underrated MCU films. The first Cap, Thor, and IM3 are overrated as fuck despite being very mediocre.

I don't know what's worse, his dancing or the fact that his plan actually worked. That entire planet probably has a recording of that awkward dance and some of them practice it in honor of their hero. Just imagine, huge dance halls generations from now where people religiously perform this dance.

How can I discuss this scene when I didn't watch the movie?

Uh, what?

Foster and Lang comparing sizes always kills me

fuck off

>made goldblum do
Pretty sure these are just the sort of things Goldblum does on his own if you leave him alone for long enough.

What the fuck is Lee? Dude is dead if you mean who I think...if you mean the OTHER Lee, he's dead too or his bots are defunct.

Lee Pace is the actor for Ronan, user.

I'm sure Wright would've put in way better heist setpieces, but the family relationships wouldn't be half as comfy. It's a trade off.

They dropped a lot of balls in the sequel, but this tiny glimpse into a punished Pym makes him just that much more interesting.

That was the one negative outcome of "Spiderverse" winning, was inflating Bendis' ego by that much more.
