Changes are coming soon. Hopefully for the better
Didn't you get the memo? Cartoon Network is the TTG and gumball channel.
remember when we had a week that was literally 100% nothing else but teen titans?
this is an improvement.
Hope we get more action shows and more half hour episodes
I saw purple and thought this was RS returning. Sad times.
TV is a baby sitter/white noise generator. If kids today genuinely want to watch something they just go on the internet.
>0 Unikitty
That is... SUCH a bad sign.
But yeah, it's well-known that the CN channel is mostly just the TTG+Gumball Channel, interspaced with ads telling you to stop being a moron and use the app instead.
In other matters, does Victor And Valentino seem like it'll be good? I have heard absolutely nothing about it yet.
Christina Miller is gone?
WB will take over CN. I expect Sam Register to be the de facto president, even if that's not his title
>CN has 16 shows that they don't even air
>and 4 that they only air for new episodes, with no reruns
What's the logic to having 28 potential shows to choose from, and only rerunning 8 to any real capacity. That's not even including their older properties that they could rerun whenever they wanted to.
Is that new DC show dead already?
Nothing wrong with the schedule.TTG, Gumball and TDR are loved by children, who are CN's main demographic not the adults who constantly whine about them on the internet. It's nice to see CN caring about Total Drama again. They didn't give it this much love since World Tour, which was 8 years ago.
No. Look back at the OP picture.
I'm more worried about the fact that Gumball appears naked at least five episodes each season, Seriously...What's up with that shit?
t. Christina Miller
>aired once with no reruns
There is no "president" of CN anymore. Warner now oversees it directly.
I hope that means looney tunes and non tt dc shows get treated with more respect
>Bears still in primetime.
I'm told kids will watch anything but here I am wondering how in the hell two cartoons has such a domination on the channel.
>mfw I stopped watching CN after the great Christmas TTG shitshow
>haven't even felt to the need to watch their garbage other shows either, by app or pirating
I've never been more glad to drop an entire Network
To get you to use the app
I think WB suggested a bigger focus on old properties like Looney Tunes and Hanna-Barbera.
Reminder
>3 hours of Scooby Doo reruns on Saturdays.
It's SHIT.
I want to go back Yea Forums
17 years later and I bet Yu Yu Hakusho is still stuck on that fucking tournament arc.
>only air for new episodes, with no reruns
They used to do that shit with He-Man and any and all action cartoons.
Unironically kill yourself
>Shitting on YYH's tournament arc
>Oh boy! A show about a guy with supernatural powers and his friends who solve paranormal mysteries! This is really goo-
>TOURNAMENT FOR 600 EPISODES
>Never mind
Gumball is a boy so it's okay for him to be naked.
(note: I don't agree with the censors, the same people think rape is safer to show than a woman enjoying sex)
t. faggot has no idea how proper pacing works and can't appreciate enjoying shows the moment
also you missed the fucking point of it entirely.
Yeah, they're on before adult swim along with gumball. Makes sense.
Why the fuck do they hate action cartoons so much? What's their problem?
>Zoids
Man that was a good show.
>5pm
>Time for DBZ!
That was a staple for so long...
I will never forget the time a whole weeks schedule on CN was almost nearly entirely YOUR NEW FAVOURITE SHOW except for a couple of slots taken up by Steven universe
Like it was just a sea of yellow with a single little island of pink at the bottom
And honestly I wouldn’t be too surprised the reason that week wasn’t just completely TTG was because those SU slots were new episodes they were obligated to air on TV at least once
See
Lol
Upon closer inspection, the weekday schedule isn't THAT bad.
See my amended layout. On weekdays kids aren't going to watch TV until 3 PM or later. On weekends, kids aren't going to wake up before 9 unless they have church, in which case they're not going to be watching cartoons. So from the hours of 3PM to 8 PM on school days we get 90 minutes of Gumball, 90 minutes of Total Drama, 60 minutes of YOUR NEW FAVORITE SHOW, and 30 minutes of Craig of the Creek and We Bare Bears. Ben 10 doesn't really count because kids aren't oging to make it back home before it's over.
The weekend schedule is fucking bad though. It's like they've just completely given up on kids watching TV on the weekend.
Because you stopped watching TV.
Nobody stopped watching TV, they're watching other channels on the TV
>they're watching other channels on the TV
They don't
the show missed to point of itself
No, you're just a retard with shit taste
They are. You didn't say anything about kids user.
Poor Lauren Faust. Network's not even giving her show a chance. In comparison THE HUB/Hasbro treated her show infinitely better. Granted it had few original shows so they treated all those better.
I still think they overdid the "pixelated dick" joke.
>2003
Let's all take a trip in my Delorean
youtube.com
It might get saved by it's merch/app views
I hear people mentioning several reasons for it. Firstly, kids supposedly satisfy their need for action through video games rather than cartoons.
Secondly, people no longer keep track of new episodes but prefer to binge them (which is why Steven Bomb format is used - apparently it works well, too!).
Comedy series are easier to spam, too. Meanwhile, shows with overarching plots have to be put in the right order or they'll make little sense otherwise.
All of those are excuses, main reason being action cartoons are too above the talent level of millennial cartoonists plus most are pussies who hate doing anything remotely dark or violent.
You live in a fantasy world
>Megaman airs a grand total of one time the entire week
What the fuck
That’s a funny way of saying reality, bud. You really expect the industry to deliver something dark gritty when it consists almost entirely now of chumps like this?
>19 episodes of Total Drama Action
>Season has 27 episodes.
Why cartoons are dead ladies and gentlemen
Action cartoons frequently fall short in terms of ratings. When e.g. Big City Greens has a larger audience than DuckTales it's clear that this isn't working out.
Aren't action cartoons also more expensive in terms of production, promotion and scheduling (especially if they were to use non-trash-tier animators)? It makes sense that networks would want to avoid them, especially since TV is a dying medium.
>DARK AND GRITTY
You are such a fucking kid. That isn't how the world works. Do you think all the people who made action cartoons just die one day? They are still working in the industry. Do you think there is a lack of talent? You can see plenty of talented animators working in games and movies. The lack of action cartoons has nothing to do with kiddy buzzwords like "millennials". It's about business. The networks don't care or want action cartoons for several reasons
>Toy companies stopped supporting and investing in cartoons and now they rely on big movies and live action shows. e.g. Hasbro barely giving a shit about its cartoons because the Transformers movies are huge hits
>Disney/Marvel and WB/DC prefer to invest in live action superhero movies that earn billions every year
>in TV, live action capeshit shows like Flash or Arrow are far more popular than any cape cartoon plus they are cheaper to produce
And more. The big companies don't care about action cartoons because they are profitable. Not compared to live action. Live action capeshit killed the action cartoons.
They loop the entire season over and over.
Live action capeshit is the worst thing to happen to Yea Forums yet
>expecting rough draft layouts drawn on a goddamn whiteboard to be detailed
i dont like the new thundercats reboot either but fuck off
>Hamtaro
>Cats Don't Dance
>Animu
Oh my childhood. This really puts into perspective how much the channel has fallen.
The MCU is the worst thing. Disney and Marvel have all the money and talent to make the best cartoons but shit like Captain Marvel is far more profitable. They even cancelled all their current cartoons because they don't care.
