Tell me the truth, Yea Forums. Is there hope? At least on Netflix? Or a leak? Static Cling has been complete for like a year damn it.

>is there hope?
No, Hef. It's all over.
For what fucking purpose? It's not a cancellation mid-way. The animation's complete, the audio mastering and synching is complete, literally nothing left to do but air it according to Murray and even Jhonen Vasquez, who seems worried about ZIM having the game fate.
Just put it up on fucking Netflix.
Also, if it's because of Jungle Movie's ratings, it's literally Nick's fucking fault for airing it on Thanksgiving when most people are with their families.
In terms of a TV movie, aren't they actually losing profit by never airing it at all?
This brings up a good point. Even with the "low" ratings of 1.6 Million the Jungle Movie had, it made a profit.
What if Nick is saving these movies for a paid streaming service like the one CN has?
That wouldn't be entirely unlikely, It'd sure drag an audience of nostalgiafags, as well as Rocko's 23rd Anniversary and Zim's 18th being this year.
Sadly it doesn't matter if it makes a decent profit or not. It still requires airtime. This means removing whatever currently airs at that time they choose. The jungle movie may have made 1.6 million in profit, but if whatever previously took that airtime spot beforehand made more money in comparison, its unfortunately considered a loss in their eyes. This causes them doubt and stupid situations like this to happen, even if its obvious what went wrong and solutions can be made to resolve the matter so it can be avoided in future. They would rather play it safe than take another risk that may or may not make them lose even more money.
I wonder, do we have any record of what airs in that timeslot? Do kids still even watch Nick?
That's there to watch in Nick besides Schneider's fetishes?
>more reruns of nuSpongebob
You're joking, but I actually see this very much being the truth. Aside from Hillenburg's short-lived return to the show which led to the quality's rennaissance, the show even at it's worst still draws a ton of kids and is extremely popular with it's target audience.
That not true. nuSpongebob is like Teen Titans Go, which in turn is like Johnny Test.
For some bizarre reason children's cable networks have gotten into the habit of picking one show seemingly at random and playing the fuck out of it constantly DESPITE the unimpressive viewership they attract.
Spongebob has been bleeding Nick literally millions of viewers over the decade, where they went from on average 3.5 million to less than a million today.
>Spongebob has been bleeding Nick literally millions of viewers over the decade, where they went from on average 3.5 million to less than a million today.
Is it fair to blame the decrease in quality from SpongeBob alone and not just the rise of streaming services?
From a business perspective? Yes. Just because other factors are contributing to the decline of TV viewing at a whole, it is unacceptable not to 'fight back' and address under-performing aspects of your current lineup. Running Spongebob non-stop was a lazy and cowardly choice to stick with a 'safe' but dying program over trying to turn around the fortunes of the company.
They had a decade to get their shit together, and now in 2019 Cartoon Network and Disney are set to go full streaming and dominate, while Nick has no future and is hardly more viewers than either. Sticking with Spongebob has literally doomed their company.
>I barely managed to watch the Arnold Movie because I was baby sitting family friend whilst visiting them in another state
Between hanging out with families, football, and enjoying vacation, who the fuck thought this was a good idea?
>Think it's having production trouble because Nick are a bunch of cunts
>Find out it's completed and gathering dust in a storeroom somewhere because Nick are SERIOUSLY a bunch of fucking cunts
>Hm this might not make enough money right now
>We'll sit on it until we think it will make more money to air
>[Nick will not remember that]
>and now in 2019 Cartoon Network are set to go full streaming and dominate
Citation needed, because as I see it the TTG spam has killed CN even worse then it has for nick, and their app has been a failure since day one.
I'm not saying Cartoon Network hasn't done it's hardest to kill it's own brand, they're only at like a quarter million viewers at the moment. But Warner Bros can save their ass with streaming, and Disney has Hulu.
Nick has nothing. It's fucked.
It can’t though if your talking about the app. The app was DOA, you need cable to even use it so the point of its existence is moot. What CN needs to do is totally restructure themselves and their channel, and if they ever go into streaming then making a legitimate streaming channel instead as well as not so obviously neglect the channel proper like they have been for the past 3 or so years.
Can't really blame them either. Spongebob was like catching lightning in a bottle for Nick. The character rivals Mickey Mouse in popularity and the name itself is synonymous with successful kids cartoons. The show still draws in people even younger kids and it can still sell merchandise surprisingly.
What irks me is how they fell into the Simpsons trap of just milking the hell out of it without maintaining standards because they believed by this point, the IP can carry itself whether its shit or not. Its infamy on the internet cause of memes is also another thing that convinced Nick it still had enough mileage for another decade or so. Look how infamous Squidward dab became among normies.
Lastly, its cause out of every show thats been on Nick, none have actually dethroned Spongebob, not even Yea Forums's beloved ATLA which despite nearly coming close ultimately couldn't due to the mature and action focus of the series only attracting older audiences and not really connecting to kids like Spongebob can.
Basically, Spongebob makes Nick too much money at this point. Whether the new seasons are shit is irrelevant to the execs cause from their perspective, its the only thing that still draws sizable viewers and thats why its overplayed on the channel.
But the previous user said SpongeBob is also causing them to bleed viewers? Is SpongeBob an uroboros? Is it starting to eat it's own fame?
maybe without spongebob they would have put more effort into making actual watchable shows
Basically this. Yes, Spongebob is bleeding Nick dry, but are there any other Nick shows that have outperformed it or made more money that it? My guess is not really. Nick sticks with Spongebob because its the safest choice, its still the most successful series on their channel. Its basically like a tumor thats stopping a shrapnel from entering their arteries, its killing them, but not as quickly as removing it would.
This makes so much sense it's depressing. No wonder they ven cancelled CGI TMNT, with a wackier 2D version, to play it safer... Spongier, even
You would only take that perspective if you ignore the fact that executives spamming and promoting and advertising Spongebob, which is killing Nick, was always done at the expense of promoting other shows.
This resulted in other shows never having the opportunity to eclipse Spongbob because they were suffocated with bad time-slots, intermittent showing and new episodes, and no advertising.
Spongbob killed Nick. And it WAS preventable.
I'm sure it's eventually going to be released sometime and isn't lost forever, but who knows how soon that will be.
Maybe some point within the next year.
At that point its a very chicken and egg situation. You are correct that Nick killed any opportunity for newer shows to grow and maybe overtake Spongebob but the suits never wanted to take the risk because they were convinced of the Sponge's longevity BECAUSE its a series that has not completely failed them YET.
And honestly, I can see them being like this because these were the same execs who turned away Adventure Time AND Phineas and Ferb.
I knew they turned away Adventure Time but no idea about Phineas and Ferb. Is this why they grabbed Loud House? "Not a third time!"
How come this is the only reboot/sequel to not fuck with the original art style? Invader Zim is getting some ugly redesigns and who know what will happen to rugrats
Rocko was never good.
>Also, if it's because of Jungle Movie's ratings, it's literally Nick's fucking fault for airing it on Thanksgiving when most people are with their families.
Like they'll ever acknowledge that. Don't you know its always everyone else's fault?
Rocko was great you smegma inhaling goblin tickler
>That episode about Ed trying to hide his love of clowning
>Is supported by his boss who openly clowns
>Whole episode was a blunt metaphor for closeted homosexuals
>Everyone accepts Ed at the end
>Rocko says he likes rainbows and is chased out of town by an angry mob
ATLA is a perfect example of the fallacy of your assumption. ATLA did well DESPITE Nick doing everything in its power to kill it, if it had been supported who knows how big it could have gotten.
>Rocko says he likes rainbows
Rocko is such a __cutie__
CN is the dominant network tho. It's the most watched cartoon channel in the world.
>When you rewatch the show years later and realise Rocko is the only decent sensitive soul in a city full of selfish idiots who are either aggressively stupid or stupidly aggressive and that his rage issues were completely justified
I just want to give him a hug
no one would watch this show now because it's too "mean-spirited"
>ATLA did well DESPITE Nick doing everything in its power to kill it
Man they hyped that shit up for months before it aired and every new episode would have ads constantly playing. Even in-between seasons there were regularly huge teaser ads and they even made extra-length promos for season finales. Even though the ratings for the first two seasons aren't known, the last season averaged 4 million viewers on premier and the series finale got over 5.5 million. Nick wasn't desperately trying to kill Avatar at all, they hyped that shit the fuck up because it played flawlessly into the anime boom of the time, pulled in huge ratings, and had endless merch potential. I even remember seeing ads for it on fucking public access stations like CBS.
Well, this was posted recently.

Hope it isn't another false alarm.
Maybe 5 years ago before “your new favorite show” took over and trashed it
>can see them being like this because these were the same execs who turned away Adventure Time AND Phineas and Ferb.
They also turned away Power Rangers in the 90’s. Ironically it now airs there
this is true and the reason why i never watched ATLA at first.
it looked so tryhard and desperate from nick's part. Picked it up during season 2 once and turns out it was actually good.
what alien program are you using.
There's no hope. Nick doesn't give a shit about Rocko anymore. They'd rather show a washed down Dude Perfect show and Ryan opening toy boxes than this.
Lets just take a look at the nick.com website....
AAHHHHHHHHH!!
Rocko was nothing but a Ren & Stimpy ripoff.
hi john
It's the dominant network right now.
