Both were shit
BvS had the better setup
Civil War had the better 3rd act

Both have some major story issues but BvS at least visually doesn't look like a TV movie and actually has a good score. So BvS

Civil War because there was a valid conflict
Shut the fuck up

Civil War because there was more context for their disagreement. BvS they're too similar.
Both have them act stupidly to manufacture a conflict but that little bit of context helps mitigate.

I thought she was with you...

BvS far and away. It is cinema compared to civil war, a flick.

every scene with Captain America is better than the entirety of the DCEU

Civil War was a failure similar to Rises, still a fun movie but with serious flaws.

BvS was just trash, pure trash, like Elektra trash, Snyder is a straight up awful director.

Heroes:
Free-murdering 1% Batman and a Superman that still can't speak up to anyone who isn't his Mommy or his fuck-Mommy.
vs
Tony Stark in controlling dick-mode and Captain America emotionally compromised by his old war boyfriend

Villains:
Lex Luthor re-imagined as a parody of Mark Zuckerberg being a spastic fag, relying on the heroes being utter morons.
vs
Helmut Zemo in civvies scheming behind the scenes, relying on the heroes being emotional women.

Secondary Villains:
Zod reanimated as yet another unconvincing DCEU CGI monsterman
vs
Thunderbolt Ross being a pain in the neck with world government demands. Winter Soldier (sorta).

Guest-Heroes:
Wonder Woman and 1 second clips of the rest of the League
vs
All of the Avengers sans Hulk and Thor, Spider-Man, Ant-Man, War Machine and Falcon on the Team. MOTHERFUCKING Black Panther.

Basis of Vs:
Luthor takes advantage of Batman's PTSD and general stupidity to arrange a battle with a Superman who suddenly can't locate his mother who is in the same city.
vs
Cap's old boy-flame is a brainwashed terrorist, the U.N. is tearing at the team, and oops I guess Bucky killed your Mom and Dad on t.v.(?) so my bad about not mentioning that earlier.

Resolution:
Superman is saved because MARTHA, then dies fighting Doomsday like a retard.
vs
Bucky and Cap are forced to duke it out with Tony, everyone gets beat up and no one likes one another anymore. Score 1 for Zemo.

Civil War actually gives the heroes reasons to fight that are based on real things and not being tricked into fighting based on lies.

Civil War

Just because i cant see shit in Badman vs Supahmate. What is with everything being so fucking dark and a shit ton of background "noise"

I like BvS better. I really don't give a shit about the stupid plots of this movies, so I prefer the one that looks better.

Only one of them is still talked about almost daily three years after release.

So probably the one that people remember more.

Civil War: Shot like a tv movie, still too many jokes considering the 'seriousness' of the plot. The villain was abit to convenient and doesn't really do anything until the end. Forgettable action and music. However normals liked it and it successfully moved along the franchise as planned. Overall it was another safe, consumable movie that is fun but really not worth a rewatch.

BVS: Shot more artfully, much better music and set up. Lex feels under utilized. Falls apart in the last act. The movie upsets normals too much and was a failure at moving it's franchise along. Feels slightly too long and rushed by WB.

Overall both movies have some good scenes and bad. Civil War is definitely the more successful movie in every sense of the word but it's simply forgettable. BVS isn't a good movie by any means but I still get that beautiful lie song in my head and Affleck is much better as Batman then I thought he'd be. It's a shame WB blew there load on Batman and Doomsday. They should have spread that out.

Disney Marvel is going on forever. At someonepoint when they have 40 movies out or whatever I can't imagine Civil War being discussed. It's just not the nature of these films. They are transactional/consumable and thats it.

I still see daily BvS threads. It amazes me. Reminds me of Bane memes. Something mesmerizes people about movies that aren't great but individual actors or scenes elevate it.

I hated Dark Knight Rises but Bane is so memorable. MOS falls apart in last act for me but I still think Zod and Faora were way cooler villains then I ever expected.

I hope both studios learn eachothers mistakes. Marvel hasn't really had a true failure apart from Hulk and that middle Thor movie so I don't think they believe there is a problem at all with having weak villains/forgettable scores. DC is course correcting which is nice but I don't get how they made such basic mistakes in the first place.

Pretty much BVS and Civil War are both stupid but atleast the music and fights (all that really matters in b action movie) were cool.

Compare the main fights. Batman vs Superman ended with Martha retardness. Cap (and Bucky) vs Iron Man was way better. The AIRPORT fight was better than any from BvS.

I don't remember any music from BvS. Nor from Civil War except one theme. Winter Soldier's theme from the previous movie which they use often, it really sets the mood.

I still don't understand the Martha confusion. That was his father's last words to his dying wife. Since Batman builds his whole life around their deaths it made sense to me that he got triggered.

I was more annoyed that Doomsday looked like a weird smooth baby and that he was even used at all.

The Airport fight was probably the biggest example of a 'tv movie' problem in MCU. Shot in a airport runway. Bland lighting. It's such a generic locale it makes the superheroes look jarring and stupid. It's like having the final fight of your movie be in a mall or a starbucks. Nothing cool about it.

Also everyone is joking back in forth like they are the same character. Instead of unique. Its the biggest problem with Marvel movies. I like them but they really need to make the characters feel more real. Cap and spidey talking about NYC in the middle of combat? Stupid.

Also, no one really gets hurt and there is no real consequence to the fight.

The whole thing felt like it was just for the trailer so they can get butts in the seats.

Different user but this composer sucks. It has alot of silence/ room tone. Stupid modulated womens voice. Bad industrial basically. Feels like early 2000s garbage. See like later Matrix soundtracks. UGH

1m checked the winter solder song out.

VS 10m on bvs opening track

youtube.com/watch?v=z9BL59uiAz8

makes sense as this is 10 times the musical track. I like civil war more as a movie but damn music is just not marvels strong suit.

Well it depends really. The main Avengers theme is iconic now, the GotG soundtracks are good too. I only remember that BvS track and one or two from MoS, none from the movies after
