Codename: KND did diversity before it was cool. And they best part is they did it organically without forcing it.

>Half-french black
I always thought her mother was Haitian or something, considering it’s one of the only places with a large black french-ish speaking population.

>not France
Has Brenton Tarrant taught you nothing?

Don't forget
>supreme leader is a strong independent woman who don't need no man

Not to mention the kid who was revealed to be FtM trans.

Oh, believe me I noticed that as a child.

That style of diversity was really common back then OP, in fact it fits pretty well in line with a "90s diversity team" that you often saw back then. Shit even Magic Schoolbus did it. The thing that I think is neat about KND is that the 5 kids represented the 5 major continents in the minds of Americans at the time.
>Numbuh 1 is Europe
>Numbuh 2 is North America
>Numbuh 3 is Asia
>Numbuh 4 is Australia
>Numbuh 5 is Africa
They'd probably have added a Numbuh 6 for Latin America if the show was made today.

>Half-French black
So Haitien?
But yeah I agree. KND handled its diversity very well.

Extreme Ghostbusters did it better and first.

>That episode that introduced the concept of a supreme leader being needed
>Nobody wants the jon, including her
>She thinks she's not fit for it but everyone else think it should either be her or Numbah 1
>Grows more confident and becomes cooler as the show progressed.
She was a great character. Most all of the female characters were great now that I think about it.

How the fuck does some dumb kids show have more varied and interesting female characters then "more mature" pieces of work?

KND wasn't necessarily concerned with creating female role models. All the characters were kids and acted like it.

>part -jew
Wait what?

i think numbah two was half jew, with an American father.

Numbuh Five's mom was definitely from France, she held a baguette and everything

If it was made today Yea Forums would say it was forced.

>How the fuck does some dumb kids show have more varied and interesting female characters then "more mature" pieces of work?
KND had really good writers and everyone was just focused on making a good show.

If. It wasn't, so how about you shut the fuck up and just enjoy one of the funnest cartoons we were lucky to get?

but why were they all in some random suburb where only one of them lived in? did all the other kids just have really shit luck when they were stationed?

They wanted the KND to be kids you'd either want to be or be friends with. All of them were pretty cool, and they made sure that they were all multifaceted and interesting. The secret to good female characters is to just write good characters.

I just thought she was creole

Writing for a kids show can be harder than writing for a "regular" tv show. You either write absolute saccharine tripe like the 30-minute-ad-for-toys cartoons we got back in the 80's, or you hire talented writers who really know how to fuckin write. There's no middle ground.

numbuh 2 is bj blazkowicz

Attached: Game-Wolfenstein-BJ-Blazkowicz-Leather-Jacket.jpg (700x933, 59K)

It's entirely possible that the KND stationed the kids there and then arranged for their families to move due to "coincidence" like getting a promotion or having a long lost relative leave them a house in their will. It's not beyond the KND's reach and civilian adults are too dumb to question it and would just go along with it.

Has Numbah 4/Wally ever said "Oi Cunt" yet? Or no, as he may or may not be surprisingly mature about it?

Wasn't there also a theory or implication(s) that the events and episodes that occurred in KND are not even "real" or are in reality. And that all the events and episodes and even specials were just over exaggerated kid's imagination in the kids point of view?

If anything, the show implied it was all real and that real world stuff that's taught in schools is all a fabrication. Pretty much all of human history is a hoax.

All 5 at least live on that same city in sector V... 4's dad and 3's mom both work for Mr. Boss and 2's mom works directly under 3's mom as well.

A few others like 86 also live there but jo one else notable I can think of.

That sounds like a shitty fan theory that runs contrary to the show's lore. The show if anything suggested that what we know about the world is a fabrication and that the kid-centric view of the world is the actually valid one.

a pretty good show that im happy that i have watched it

also number 3 is best girl

>Not to mention the kid who was revealed to be FtM trans.
Wait... did that really happen?

Listen to his parents and grandma. Verified kosher

Numbuh 5's candy rival, Heinrich, was actually a girl, who was turned to a boy from some curse from Caramels.

Uh, even back then it was obviously forced like the Burger King kid’s club. You were just too young to be looking for it.

>yet
The show's been off the air for a decade mate

they did have a number 6, and he was the perfect representation of South America
a smelly skunk

BTFO

the tree station was the first stations of the proto-KND, so they likely wouldn't abandon it, and when Numbuh One became a full-fledged member and showed great leadership potential, they let him use it as his base of operations

To be clear, the curse stole the part of her that she valued the most.

For her, it was her femininity, so she became a boy.

I like that they didn't go with the usual, "determined treasure hunter values treasure above everything else, including their own well-being" route with him/her. To have the character actually, y'know, trying to fix themself as their primary motivation was pretty cool. Also, it's hard to blame her.

must've been some good caramels, huh

Anyone have any good pictures of the treehouses?

>00's baby that didn't experience 90's cartoons: The Post

If this was a new show, Yea Forums would unironically claim the diversity was forced.
Even if its makers came at it no differently.
And you know it.

It's so easy to make a diverse group, I really don't get what the hurdles people are dealing with today that stop them from making them good.

There's a theory like for any show with at least some level of magical realism about it, and they're all dumb.
If there is no magical realism, the show will instead spawn a theory that it's all happening in Hell/Purgatory/an autistic child's imagination.

Actually 1980s.
Denver, Captain Planet, Bionic 6, Justice Leauge 1980s cartoon, M. A. S. K..

Theres a lot of french speaking countries in Africa

Thats actually the fake moon.

They faked the moon landing so the adults wouldnt discover their moon base.

>full-on parody of The Truman Show, right down to Numbuh 1 as the bald beret-wearing director
Absolutely based.

The Russian adults allow the KND to have an HQ right in the middle of the Kremlin?

Numbah 5 was half-black half rape victim.

No capitalism!

There's a lot of countries in Africa that speak French, and most Haitians prefer to speak Haitian Creole, not French.

Sorry user, I am from Yurope, so I never hear all show in english, only in french, Who is the half jewish?, maybe that part was lost in translation and dubb

The Russians look the other way so long as the KND look the other way. Interestingly, the Russians deny the existence of such a treehouse

Not everyone is Dwayne McDuffie.

Numbuh 2

Was Putin a KND operative during the soviet era?

Several african countries speak french, france for example.

Well KEK

Always thought it was fishy that adults just let their children live inside a treehouse

I came here to say this

Yeah, Numbuh 210.

See You mouth breathing tards.

The is obviously New Orleans. Why is the filename "treehouse creepy" as opposed to Hollywood and Russia. You're strange.

Presumably because it belongs to Sector X and was the setting for a zombie episode.

Except this thread isn’t just a KND thread, it is trying to weave some bizarre narrative where its absurd diversity was something else.

>organically without forcing it

Do you think it sprung to life as a natural occurence? Someone spilled some ink in a studio and out came a fully fledged television program? The process was exactly the same as it is now and the only difference is that you're bitter and old.

You retards would still label it as forced diversity if it came out today. Don't kid yourself.

>I really don't get what the hurdles people are dealing with today that stop them from making them good.
The desire to be patted on the back for being diverse. When you stop looking at things as just a part of the show and start looking at them as a way to boost your social standing the quality of the show will always suffer.

>pic unrelated

Nah, I think they do work for what they were created for, selling burgers to kids with simple easy commercials. Hell, they even added an asian to the cast named Jazz.

Attached: Jazz.png (179x294, 24K)

>And they best part is they did it organically without forcing it.
if this show had come out today, morons like you would be whining about forced tokenism until their eyes bubbled. i haven't seen a post this blinkered since someone claimed storm from the x-men wasn't forced diversity.

you're retarded

>supreme leader is a strong independent woman who don't need no man
Back then no one cared too much but now people would be calling it sjw propaganda and start fighting.

What happened to us?

Attached: 1545068577217.png (368x368, 140K)

What is a good site to watch this online with?

How much gay porn would Father get if Z.E.R.O came out today?

Early 00's cartoons did diversity a whole lot more and better than current "woke" era companies. Other ensemble shows like Hey Arnold, Recess, Jackie Chan, Xiaolin Showdown, Total Drama

Disney channel had things like
>Proud Family with an all black cast,
>American Dragon, starring a Chinese American family
>Filmore with a black main character who is not street, ghetto, or sings at all

Then Nickelodeon had El Tigre taking place in Mexico, Avatar with no white people in it at all,

Current shows are not that diverse, even after patting themselves on the back for being really diverse. Shows now are mostly white with a minority side character or a background face. Milo Murphys, Steven Universe, Gravity Falls, Loud house, Clarence, Ducktales, Magiswords, Ben-10, Teen Titans, Big City Greens, maybe a brown side character.

>What happened to us?

Unironically fucking gamergate, it ended up creating a us vs them mentality to every fucking piece of media. And Companies finding out how fucking easy it is to create media attention by pissing off either side.

>How the fuck does some dumb kids show have more varied and interesting female characters then "more mature" pieces of work?

Writing them as kids who go on adventures first and foremost. Instead of constantly bringing up how they are minorities, or making the fact that they are black or jewish their #1 primary character trait and then all other traits secondary to that.

her mom could be from the west indies

like Alya from miraculous ladybug

Anyone can make a BK Kids Club cast, the problem is these days people seem to have forgotten that they need to be actual characters and not just tickboxes on a quota sheet. Want a good example of how these people fuck it all up? Any time you see fan art where they change the character's race/gender/limbs/etc to make it seem more """"""""diverse"""""""".
These are pre-existing characters so changing their appearance isn't gonna change who they are in and of itself, but at the same time it not only makes zero fucking sense for them to be changed in this way but it's also an incredibly superficial change at that. Yet there are people out there see this thing and praise the redesign simply for not being the original skin color/gender/sexual orientation/etc.

Had to be saved by Nigel, but saved him a few times as well like when she ate through the veggies. I see no problem.

>supreme leader is a strong independent woman who don't need no man
she wasn't even written that way though, she was an average joe who got into the position simply because of the power vacuum left by 274 and early on had trouble dealing with the pressures of being the nanny to literally every single child on earth. fuck she wanted to get the fuck out of leading the KND which made Father come into power. it wasn't until she talked things through with a friend and realized the gravity of what could happen to the organization without her at the wheel that she got over her insecurities and became the headstrong semi-serious leader that she was by the end of the series.

years later they added an asian girl named Jazz with a trumpet

80's shows were basically this, they just had random black guy and random asian girl only to check diversity boxes. 00s era shows had them actually be characters with unique personalities, then modern shows went right back to the 80s model of diversity friends with no personality again.

South American here, can confirm.

This is a dumb question but given how KND usually plays out you could probably carry a whole episode around 4 saying a cuss. Somehow he says it at the exact right time to cause an international incident. At the end of the episode the KND and all the big villains sign a treaty that says that #4, specifically, is not allowed to say cunt.

>Heinrich
is their porn?

She had an impressive amount of character development for someone who isn't even in the main fucking cast. I'm also impressed they managed to make her bossy and demanding at times without just making her into a bitch.

And yeah, 90's and 2000's shows tended to have a more diverse cast. You'd think we'd be getting that diversity kino these days, but the only show I can think of that does it (and does it well) is Clarence. Everything felt natural, just like real life.

More like the KND allows the adults to have a Kremlin around their fucking treehouse

00's that did it had massive problems with character personality in general. Look at fucking danny phantom. Everyone was boring as fuck.

Danny Phantom was such a travesty even back then that the fact that people look back at that show fondly convinces me that I am too old.
