Not him, but the animation, like a lot of cartoons these days, does feel pretty stiff and weak.
As for pacing, so many things happen so quickly that there's not enough time to develop jokes or plot points for more than like a minute.
There are no little quiet moments to let things rest and settle in before picking up the pace again.
It feels like it should've been 22 minutes instead of 11.

I like the premise of every townie having some sort of ancient artifact they use in their everyday life like Xochi selling potted plants from another dimension or Charlene finding host bodies for ghosts using her closet Obsidian Mirror, but I have to see more characters and know their personalities to get fully invested. Something about this show feels unearnest. There's an uncanny valley, nothing really pops out, from the scenery to the characters to the plot. It feels it was put together in haste for the sake of releasing something mexican representing than the desire to release something entertaining.
Wish instead they would've done more of an ATLA thing with the theme, remove the modern-day scenario and have it go full adventure-fantasy.
