i haven't practiced or drawn for over a year now.
this is what i've done today
Swain?
I drew this recently. I need to try and draw actual backgrounds more often.
It's very well done. Some solid visual gags too.
You remind me of loud house and wonder over yonder.
Are you trying to shame someone on a Work on Your Art thread?
thank you!
makes sense, since those two shows had some influence on my art style.
but his drawing looks nice
BRAAAPP ! BANG BANG!
just swain because i know he's an ngmi, rest of you dudes are all right
THIS GOES HARD
looks neat, i'm getting a london vibe

don't think i'll ever get a hang of this.
I keep delaying studies in favor of spooky monster heads
on the bright side you're making some cool spooky heads.

thanks dude, wish my poses came out as well as my doodles
Well I tried Batman.
I mostly do fantasy stuff, this one's from a few months ago.
I know the anatomy sucks ass, I was just working on improving my character interaction.
I can't draw
Neither can we.
fuck off swain, everyone knows you're not gonna finish
same. but it's still fun so whatever
I’m not a furry.
Here's your waifu bros.
Can writers post WIP stuff in these threads from artists they're working with?
if you didn't draw it then no
More character interaction work.
Go ahead I'm not a cop.
no one here is gonna stop ya

workin on my OC some more
eternally worried and embarrassed police girl hero with jet peg-legs
left it mostly blank because im curious if anyone wants to shout out some color schemes. have one already in mind, but its always neat to see other peoples ideas
you're practicing now so you're better off than what you were at
most glaring thing to me are that the hands are a bit small and a bit wonky
so long as you're drawing, anything is good
especially spooky monster heads and tiddies
>policefags
do it
I'm mildly pleased with this thing I did.
What culture is that clothing from?
How does someone learn to draw interesting poses?
It's mostly inspired by British, but the oc's from a fantasy story so it's not a 1:1 lift of any culture in particular.
Worked on a recent collab involving a beetle, which eventually turned into a beetle deity/household spirit.
Credit for the digital coloring/tweaking goes to my artistic friend here: dynamitedogma.tumblr.com
Here's the original ink drawing.
this looks really fucking good

and here's a quick sketch of a famous comicbook artist. I hope he's recognizable at least. I love his stuff.

Google's your friend on that.
You could also sift through /ic/ artbook threads for some book o' poses.
I don't think spray paint counts but whatever. These are some stencil I worked on last night
Also doing something for a family member. Father and son. Pretty far from finish need to work on lips, the chain, then add the black. After all that still needs a background
Let's break that question down. First, how much do you know about anatomy? Second, how confident are you in what you know? Third, what kind of poses do you consider interesting?
Drew a realistic dilbert the other day because I was bored
Well done. Gonna do more? Of various comics?
Thanks! I might someday, foxtrot or Garfield would be fun too.
this some high quality shit ngl
cool
I miss the blind girlfriend from Foxtrot. I would love to see fanart of her.
Oh and Bill from the eltingville club my obscure husbando
Pretty nice, the colors are pretty well done. The face feel a little too “I leant how to draw by copying anime/voltron” though, have you studied irl skull structure and facial proportions? With a bit of practice your stuff could go from a 6/10 to and 9/10
I know you're trying to be helpful to the artist, but you don't need to put it in such a dickish way.
Suffice to say that studying skull structure and facial proportions would be useful.
How was that being dickish? I’ve seen worse crit in these threads before.
Thanks, user. I've done lots of facial anatomy studies in the past, though I definitely still need a lot of practice. What's the issue with the face?
Oof ...
Shit ....
That's my new wallpaper. Thanks and keep up the good work.
finally drew my oc after a few months of just drawing porn nonstop for drawthreads. i feel like i have improved a lot though, in this period. training arc has nearly ended so i should get back to working on my comic
Love these
Had an idea for a race of space elves that had their shit kicked in so hard and enslaved for so long that their society is an intergalactic equivalent of the 3rd world. I had an idea for a villain who may or may not have supernatural powers at his command and currently runs the largest slave trading ring in the Broken System.
>How was that being dickish?
The way you phrased it. you could have just said there's room for improvement on the face and suggest studying facial anatomy.
What exactly does spectulating about the artist's inspiration/taste in animation add beyond making yourself look like a cunt?
>I’ve seen worse crit in these threads before.
"Everyone else is doing it too." stops being a valid argument after kindergarden.
That is what his hair is intended to look like? Dogbert a cute.
the colored version looks like shit
I enjoyed working with you on this
I love this. It evokes the same feelings that the opening of Bomberman Party Edition evoked in me when I was a kid. It's a great feeling to have again, thank you. I don't save other user's art, but I'll definitely admire it while I can. Hopefully you don't disappear from this board forever.
I'm writing a comic about a young woman forced into an apocalypse setting. She and about a dozen others are gifted super powers by 'angels'(later revealed as ayylmaos) in order to give humans a sporting chance at survival.
Progress has been pretty good until recently. Kind of came to a standstill during scripting of individual issues and I'm yet to mock up a satisfactory endgame but besides that the story and characters are pretty well polished. Scripting is kind of hard because nearly none of the characters have been translated from text to visual yet. My gf is good at drawing but focused on her own projects rn and I have no artist friends so it's just a bit tough to envision the going ons and interactions without a solid visual in mind.
>anyone taking /r/equests?
just finished this a few minutes ago
Heh
i'll never be able to post here im a fucking failure
Don't give up user. Just keep trying!
Posting an animation. I still got a lot to learn, but I love animating.
I'm going to work on 2D artwork myself. Still doing drawabox.
Nive, m8. You have a blog or something I can follow for more?
Stop being such a fucking pussy. I posted and I suck. But I'm not a furry.
alright batman i gotchu covered
I suggest a bigger gap between panels. It helps the eyes digest information and makes it more clear that it's two separate sequences.
yep. I mainly post on Twitter and DeviantArt
www.twitter.com/lemynlyme
www.deviantart.com/serperiorruler101
fair point. I'm still trying to figure out a consistent layout for these things, so I'll keep that in mind next time.
not a usual Yea Forums poster, but I have an issue I think you guys might already have an answer to
so I've been drawing and painting for years and I'm proficient. I really love comic books and manga and for years I wanted to try drawing one myself but I don't have any story to tell.
For some years I've been drawing simplistic strips whenever I come up with a joke and they've been all received reasonably well, but I don't have any ideas for characters or plots and go beyond four panels.
Do I have to find a writer?
My homage to Mirage era TMNT, 5 ninja sisters who are cursed to inhabit one body, and only one sister can emerge at a time, trying to break that curse and get revenge on then family and demon who did this to them.
this is great advice. itll make a big difference in readablity. it also looks like you consider that in your art as well. or if you dont youve done in instincively. the eye natrually flows in your comic. but yeah, bigger panel break would make it a lot better.
nah man, writers who are looking for artists are almost always dog doodoo talentless hacks. Just learn to write yourself. Turn to stuff that inspires you, stuff that makes you laugh or cry, or stories you connect with. Go from there, combine it with other things, change it a bit, fix parts you dont like
Finding a good writer is hard. It would be easier to just post a lot and then have someone ask to work with you.
If you want to turn your brain off then I'll write for you.
I do ingest a lot of literature and I know what I like. I have a job so I'm not concerned with audience and I could be doing it just for myself but in all honesty I think I am too dumb on many subjects to write convincing sf (what I'd like) that would entertain anyone or even me.
Why does one of them look like a man?
So it's like five personalities in one body? And the body transforms depending on who the residing personality is at the moment?
People always say to fail fast. Start with writing short stories and make sure to keep em' short.
Does one? I didnt notice. One of then is physically larger then the rest, cuz you need a bruiser.
Yes, exactly that. It's also why they dont age. Every transformation takes them back physically to the time of the curse.
This shit again? You've posted this exact same picture three times before with your pitch
I'm flattered, user! Thank you!
Pffft! Did Eye criticize to you, too? Well, no sweat either way. And likewise. I'd enjoy to work with you in the near future.
Ohh these are cute!

I like how stylized it is. Great stuff.
Cute.
I don't see a lot of 3d here. Nice job!
Nice stuff. love your style too.
Space elves look creepy.
Nice stuff, What's he pointing at?
I love all of this.
I love this too.
I don't care if it counts or not. I love process stuff.
Great stuff, I'm liking the hatching.
I like your stuff because it always makes my skin crawl.
Super cute!
I like those lines
It's beautiful. Great colors.
I like this style, great expressive poses too.
>Surely I can make a quick simple doodle with a piss easy pose
Tear it apart so I don't make the same mistakes next time.
>puddle gets coincidentally deeper where her hands and feet are.
I'm onto you.
I do all my art digitally and I'm realizing now that I can't ink for shit. I don't really know what brush to use. I discovered Tradd Moore just the other day because I don't keep up with comics and I just look at my art and think about how boring and weak it is. His line work is so clean and the patterns and shapes he uses are so on point that I'm going to study him for a while.
I've doing a cyber punk thing with a friend and here's just a doodle.
dang, thanks user...

No one can. But some people try, and guess what - it works out for them.
some Yea Forums r63 nonsense i'm doing
Since you asked for it:
Tails grow from the base of the spine (if you look at an animal, it's one continuous line), so her pig tail is way too up high and off-center.
I can tell that her left hand is too small. And at least the heels of her feet should be sticking out of the mud. A little too convenient for all of them to be submerged.
Considering the level of detail you've put it to the rest of her body, she should have more detail to her mouth. At least her tongue or maybe her teeth, since her mouth is so wide open.
Look up how collarbones are structured. You drew them as almost perfectly straight lines when they're more curved.
Most of the lineart is quite clean and nice but the structure of her hair is messed up for some reason, particularly the hair to the sides of her face. While the hair at the top of her head has good structure and form, the hair the sides of her face are wobbly and off-balance.
Have any more art to post?
I've learned the hard way that even if you draw the most innocent, non-sexual funny animals people will still label you as a furry, so you might as well start drawing yiff right now
I slapped some colors on a thing I liked.
Very good pose and very nice design. Have any more to share?
I traced the majority of that, I'm still a beginner at art. But here's a thing I posted in a previous thread.
He's gone now. Our resident douchebag scared him away.
Thanks mate
1st one, a lot, like really lot (nerves, bones, veins, arteries, muscles etc.) but less than i need to. 2nd one, i'm really confident in general shapes but i really mess it up in some areas, also my proportion game is weak. 3rd, poses that can portray the action in action situations or poses with beautiful and interesting shapes in non-action drawings.
So then you'd be comfortable to just dive right in. Good.
From personal experience, I'd say the first thing is to save any image that fits that description that wows you. Give it its own folder for you to go back to. J.H. Williams III and Olivier Coipel are some of my most frequent go-to's. You'll be using it for both reference and inspiration. Pinterest is a great place to go searching. Look up Character Design References.
Next is giving yourself the right context. Simply saying "I want to draw a dynamic pose" is usually not enough for you to actually come up with a dynamic pose. Figure out what character, story, joke, or situation you want to draw and then stop and take the time to think about how you can dynamically express it.
Whenever you want to draw a simple pose or panel, always take a moment to consider if there is a more interesting way of showing it. It's not always going to be true, but just taking that time to think it over will sometimes give you crazy ideas.
If you're ever stuck on a drawing that you're taking too long on and you just can't figure it out, trying redrawing it completely in a different angle. I find that helps a lot.
It seems you use pencil and paper, which is a shame because I found the Transform tool to warp limbs to become more dynamic is very helpful. I don't instinctively realize how dynamic a shot can be unless I toy around with it and discover that it can look cooler.
I hope this helps at all.
That does help, thanks. Also sick page, man. Are you going to color it or just go black and white
Swain is the real douchebag mate
Oh nice, how long before you abandon this one swain? Dc will never hire you
>Oh nice, how long before you abandon this one swain? Dc will never hire you
Bless him ,he's still trying to do the Jim Lee style in 2019. He probably would've got a good shot if he just polished up faster in 2011 when the new 52 happened.
Working on some sort of Silent Hill-inspired monster. Just something to let me focus on light and color without having to worry too much about anatomy.
I want to commission you.

A lot of the issues with the hair and mouth probably stem from being a horrible mashup of photo reference and referencing the manga the character is from while not quite understanding either.
Oh hey this looks nice
>those broken backs
Nevermind
He never will, im just gonna be around to mock him as he keeps trying
Fuck no, go back to captains quarters
When at work I try sketching down stuff during lunch or downtime. Based him off an older OC, might redraw again later.
What do have against Swain and Limited?
Can confirm that Swain is an annoying emotional wreck from my time in the hyw server. Dont know about 's beef with that other dude
I was in the server too and I got nothing but useful feedback from him, in all honesty
You must have not been around during the dudes moodswings before he started "depression posting" on tumblr
Dude, i stopped donating to your patreon when you dragged this out. Im just gonna pirate it off sadpanda

That helmet design really takes the cake.

oof, yeah the helmet looks pretty similar. back to the drawing board, i recon
Trying some dynamic posing. Also broke out old wireless wacom to test on a larger screen. The Surface has ruined me.
Swain? You back man?
What is your problem with the Surface?
I’m sorry if I bothered you at any point. But I honestly don’t recall being emotional. If you wouldn’t mind describing what I said or did, I can offer a proper apology.
I think I posted one thing just to offer an explanation about my choices. I haven’t done anything like it since.
That’s okay. There’s no need to pirate it. It’s all free. There is no paywall.
Looks good to me.
Never left. Just got hired to do comic for a person (not a company, just commissions), so I was off doing work. But when I saw people saying they enjoyed my version of The Secret, I decided to finish it. Updates soon.
I’m so glad I could be of help. I know how difficult art can be, so we gotta help each other out.
bump
>looks good to me
Of course you think it does, you drew it dumbass. You need to stop falling back on heavy shading to hide the flaws in your work. Looking at this single page, the pacing is rushed and you're failing to convey the action scene you're drawing on the bottom page. You clearly have some ego issues that keep you from improving considering that your previous bat family work was less flawed than this.
Not the guy you're talking to but there's really no need to be such a cunt.
A big windup for a big punch. Feeling colorful.
Nice design.

>Add detail
It's called a silhouette you retard.
>Spine out of whack
Redline it with correct anatomy, then.
This is some of the worst Dunning-Kruger I've seen outside of /ic/ in a while.
thanks satan, it's been my third day now drawing consistently.

No problem. Just rusty with intuos tablet after direct on screen drawing.

This is pretty fucking great.

What sort of comic is it?
