HARLEY QUINN: BREAKING GLASS TP
written by MARIKO TAMAKI
art and cover by STEVE PUGH
With just five dollars and a knapsack to her name, 15-year-old Harleen Quinzel is sent to live in Gotham City. She’s not worried, though—she’s battled a lot of hard situations as a kid, and knows her determination and outspokenness will carry her through life in the most dangerous city in the world. And when Gotham’s finest drag queen, Mama, takes her in, it seems like Harley has finally found a place to grow into her most “true true” with new best friend Ivy at Gotham High. But when Mama’s drag cabaret becomes the next victim in the wave of gentrification that’s taking over the neighborhood, Harley’s fortune takes another turn.
Now Harleen is mad. In turning her anger into action, she is faced with two choices: join activist Ivy, who’s campaigning to make the neighborhood a better place to live, or team up with her anarchist friend Joker, who plans to take down Gotham one corporation at a time.
From Eisner Award and Caldecott Honor-winning author Mariko Tamaki (This One Summer) and Eisner Award-nominated artist Steve Pugh comes a coming-of-age story about choices, consequences, and how a weird kid from Gotham goes about defining her world for herself.

THE BATMAN WHO LAUGHS #6
written by SCOTT SNYDER
art and cover by JOCK
variant cover by JENNY FRISON
True happiness begins in the heart. Our memories and emotions can play tricks on us, though, and divert one’s reality into something completely different. The Batman Who Laughs has based his entire worldview on this very concept, and it is in this moment that he must finally confront the one man who stands in his way, the one man who could complete or halt his plan…the last Bruce Wayne. It is here, on the home turf of Wayne Manor, that Bruce relives the happiest moment of his life—the moment he became the Batman Who Laughs. Will Batman be able to outthink the Dark Multiverse version of himself and stop his most sinister end? Or will the original Dark Knight succumb fully and let go of his morality? While good almost always wins, this issue is the start of something more…setting up a larger plan based in the ultimate betrayal of infection, loyalty and true happiness. This is not the end…it’s only the beginning.

I doubt Lobdell will bring back Artemis, since he's trying to redo all his New 52 shit. Bizarro and Artemis was imposed on him by Johns, who also told him to rewrite Jason's origin to be like the pre-Flashpoint one instead of the one Lobdell came up with. So you won't be seeing Artemis. That sword is probably the magic one powered by blood.

This is the most generic solicit and story I think I've ever seen. What a disaster this book has turned into.

>He REALLY wants a show on DC Universe, huh?

Orlando should just take over the ongoing. He certainly has the backing of the editor. It just seems like Didio & co. wants Wilson as a diversity hire.

This one’s gonna hurt me, I know it.

They all look older here than when Gleason draws them. Especially Bart. How old are these guys?

I hope it’s the bunny.

gotta say pretty boring month so far.
aside from Shazam nothing really peaks my interest and I only read Shazam because I like the character and the art

He's the blandest Starman and the one Robinson touched on the least so Snyder feels the most comfortable changing him

Tim and Bart do, definitely, you are correct. I like this Kon better than Gleasons but since Patrick has been doing the interiors, I doubt this means anything although we need to be told if this is just a fill in on art or actual change, but it wouldn't actually change the ages.

Why not have more than one Wonder Woman book?

I don't think this semen slurping hobby is for me anymore lads.

Attached: 1551842576873.jpg (600x681, 79K)

Detective Comics 1000 is just a book sized issue with short stories by many different writers (such as Kevin Smith, Bendis, Tom King, Paul Dini, and others). Tomasi has a preview for his upcoming Arkham Knight arc in it.

yeah it does all seem kinda pointless, repetitive or just boring.
If DC still had some cheesecake I would at least have 1 thing to look forward to but that isn´t the case anymore either.

I can't wait to meet !

It seems Orlando will be shitting on Azzarello's Hippolyta and amazons.

He's been seen once or twice after Rebirth too.

ah maybe King is planning to replace Bruce then for his 100 issue

It’s okay, user. Just check back in five years.

Another question is how did Bane earn Batdad's loyalty.

Power ranger shazams was a mistake. It took 5 years for that idea?

Issue 6 and they are still doing flashbacks

This is still running?

Most of these books don’t interest me.

How many issues has Ric been going on now? Nearly a year?

Okay I kind of love this cover. Bruce just casually walking away from half dead Terry wtih some chick.

That was fake news

It's a weird feeling to only have any excitement for jld.

Every single month since Bendis came to DC its systematically gotten worse and worse, its fascinating really

I’m sure it’ll wrap up before 2020. How long can you drag out an amnesia story?

The sales for her book just can't support it.

Oh so let me guess the LoD will bring him back somehow and he'll be their newest member.

It's probably Hoppy

Worse that his time at marvel a few months ago?

oh cool, nice to see a story with the Turtle.

2 trades is my guess

Its different because he'd been raping Marvel for so long that his little buddies would often join in. Now it feels like the first time again

you don´t seem to be the only one user judging by this thread
but I doubt it is solely the fault of Bendis

Aww Hitch is off Hawkman, he's been doing his A game there. but at least it's not canceled. Issue sounds like an interesting one shot concept for a guess a transition to whatever the arc after Deathbringers is.

Rucka already did that.

barely
apparently they completely changed the planned out plot after issue 4 was released
DC and Marvel sure are releasing a ton of books that nobody asked for right now

I blame it all on Didio, Lee and Harras.

It's gonna be MOTHER FUCKING HOPPY isn't it?

>SUPERMAN YEAR ONE #1
>written by FRANK MILLER
>art by JOHN ROMITA JR. and DANNY MIKI
I'm the goddamn Superman!

Im just happy Hawkman isn't canceled.

Go read your Bendis,Johns and Tomasi. Finally they get a real writer to write Superman.

Good

>stretches across the DC Universe and touches every character from Batman to Superman to the Question to Talia al Ghul. With startling ease, a newly dangerous and aggressive Leviathan wipes out all its competition and now turns its sights to molding the world into its vision of order
It's the motherfuckin' villian named BENDIS?

>Superman, Jor-El, Supergirl and Superboy face intergalactic attacks from Rogol Zaar, General Zod
So Zod is fighting alongside the being who destroyed Krypton. That makes total sense, and is in no way whatsoever pants on head fucking retarded.

who old is Frank Miller at this point and what was his last dc comic book
>mature readers
I wonder if he is going to show nudity

Wasting Schmidt on this. Not that DC has any good books to out him in, but this is insulting.

why does superman have such freakishly long arms and legs here?
he looks like a orang-utan

No, I don't have taste this shit to care for a Nightwing book.

Damn, another story about another cosmic army? Venditti should be writing about Hawkman's rouges or some shit now, enough cosmic shit - give him a setting or something man.

out there guess: stargirl

nightwing has been shit for years.
the amnesia thing isn´t even the worst thing that they have done to him

That is wise of you.

bleedingcool.com/2018/10/07 ... nycc-2018/
>Miller then talked about how “Superman has the best girlfriends in comics” and “should be the sexiest character around– Batman jumps then either falls or catches a rope – Superman stays up!” the crowd found this hilarious. Miller talked about the scene in Richard Donner’s Superman movie where Superman flies at night with “the beautiful Lois Lane” and called it “one of the most natural and erotic scenes in fantasy film”.
>“I mean the guy has a mermaid in his life!” exclaimed Miller. He then talked about how each issue of Superman Year One features a different love interest – Lana Lang, Lois Lane, Lori Lemaris and “I’m pushing for a certain Amazon to get involved” (obviously Wonder Woman)

Attached: SMxWW.jpg (750x1139, 286K)

Attached: IKTF.png (525x461, 45K)

Remember, Bendis said we haven't even seen the full roster yet.

Although it's probably just Beast Boy and Raven.

Goddamn it not this pairing again, fucking sick of Trinity shipping. Just let him be with Lois or his actual love interests.

I hope this means that the sjws didn´t get to him.
I need some more Frankino

Attached: frank kino.jpg (566x369, 53K)

Oh, it gets much worse. Superman will *rape* Wonder Woman

Why do these even exist?

>I wonder if these "tides of changes" include the Rich rumored Momoaizing of Arthur?
I fucking dropped Aquaman two issues in KSD's run because how fucking boring it was and I am sure that creatively bankrupt hag would do that.

Kinda forgot they were teamless. Also they need a gay/black so Aqualad could be a candidate

>not a single thing to be hyped about

Well, not a surprise conisdering they put Bendis as the main dish.
Hope for next month to be decent at least

because it´s all done by people who work for literally a few cents.
cheap enough to justify the less then 20k sale numbers

>Final Issue
This wasn't planned as a mini was it?

It's part of the master plan , the plane, tom is ex cia

"First season"

Apparently this is gonna be done in like volumes.. for some reason. So like it'll be off for a few months then come back with a new #1.

what would you want to see in the future?
I would be pretty much happy with anything as long as we get better and sexy art again plus less ridicules or overdone premises

Can this arc finally end so I can start enjoying new Amethyst comic by someone.?

It's probably Black Adam

hopefully they end the embargo on Wildstorm characters in the main universe and we can get new Gen13/DV8 books now

At least it just seems to be a between arcs one shot, hopefully afterward he gets some more earth based stuff with Shadow Thief, Matter Master, Gentleman Ghost, Lion Mane and what not.

Reminder that the guy who designed this shitty redesign seriously thinks a tire iron as a weapon is "nonthreatening" and that a katana is way cooler

You could snap a fucking Katana in half with a tire iron

It's because it sells like shit so they're going to keep relaunching it. Bendis got so much undeserved clout at DC

>anyone who doesn't like my favorite writer actually just likes these writers I hate!
You people are awful

Wasn’t one of Rich’s rumors that Tomasi was going to do a Spectre book... maybe this’ll lead into a spinoff

The state of DC

This sounds terrible

New canon origin, by the way.

Better be quick, Venditti's got a habit of being slow, and the book already has low numbers man.

It’s weird seeing Frank loving Superman.

Fire Bendis and have somebody go back in time and save the real Jon Kent from the Crime Syndicate.

>Reminder that this is the second to last time we'll ever see the real un-Bendis Jon. Buy the series to support kid Jon people.
This, people. Don't buy anything with aged up Jon.

There's also a second volume of that Zoom line Supersons series in september. I know it doesn't look as good but we need to do all we can to get Jon de-aged and reset to how he was before Bendis got a hold of him or as close to it as possible.

>to trying to assassinate Nightwing,
Wait that was Bane? I've honestly forgotten like half of this fucking convoluted plan.

No, it is the worst thing. Not because of the story itself, which is dreadful, but because of all the problems behind the scenes. It is a complete mess.

The Emerald Duo are back in action!!! Thank you Based Morrison!!!

Why do I got a feeling Didio's on another "Superheroes shouldn't be allowed to marry because it makes them happy" kick and we're looking at another Bat-Wedding fakeout.

We first learned about it happening in August last year.

Flashpoint Thomas had a nice send off and he shouldn't have been brought back from tha, ditto for Old Jor-El but both fucking King and Bendis ruined that shit.

That depends on its sales.

Do I need to read Metal to read this series? I see a lot of great reviews for it, but Metal looks like a clusterfuck of the kind of stories that annoy me.

Please leave this stuff to the porn fan-comic maker's, dc.

I hope KSD hangs herself.

>Superman: Year One is made the new origin for Superman following forward
>Superman and Wonder Woman dated in it and an accident is turned into a miracle when Wonder Woman learn she has been impregnated by Superman
>Wonder Woman knows she can't be mom and also a superhero, and feel her mission is too important to give up
>Superman and Wonder Woman hit the breaks over this and in the mean time Superman gets with Lois
>Lois accept to raise Wonder Woman's baby as her own and Wonder Woman end up being cool with that not wanting to abort
>Superman and Lois eventually marry and they name the baby Jon Kent
>Lois reveals all of this in the upcoming tell-all book she has been shown writing in the Bendis' Superman and Action books
>this is the new status quo
>Jon is Superman and Wonder Woman's biological baby
>Didio and Lee get their SMWW happy ending (of sorts)

what happened to suicide squad?

bad sales??

Oh fuck yes.

These are about the only things I'm either interested in or may give a look at. Everything else I'm not really interested in.

And in Wonder Woman telling Clark and Lois off for what's happened to Jon and her going back in time to save him from her Earth Three counterpart and I'd actually accept this.

>Superman: Year One is made the new origin for Superman following forward

Where did they even say it was going to be official? They just said definitive which may just be hypewords.

God damn I wish Snyder could write a story shorter than 6 issues. These arcs drag on for so long.

Aren't there any TPBs and Omnibus/Absolutes?

He's been here just one year, ONE. How can they give in this fast and let him do a motherfucking crossover event? Is DiDio fucking blind to Bendis' trackrecord with big events or something? Honestly fuck this, this bald son of a bitch should be dead already and that would make everyone's lives better.

Bruce Wayne is Batman and gets corrupted with a Joker keikaku that upon death he releases a Joker gas from his body that ensures there is always a Joker. This makes Bruce into BatJoker, who proceeds to Batgod his way through his entire world within an inverse multiverse. Thus far, Metal doesn't seem relevant, beyond being the vehicle for bringing him to Earth 1. Thus far, it is Snyder wank with Bruce being infected with thing that will make him a Joker, but is keeping it at bay at the moment. There is also a Bat-Punisher running around, and obviously The Batman who laughs has keikakus within his kekikakus.

Personally I think YMMV. Remember that reviews dont mean anything. Bendis gets tons of great ones for his Superman issues, as does King, as does Snyder. If you don't like his kinds of stories, you might not like this because, and its just my opinion, it might as well be a containment book for his worse tendencies that he isn't allowed to implement in Justice League.

I thought that was a one-off reference and that Johns would tell Lobdell to drop that retarded shit, but Lobdell has only been doubling done with referencing his awful New 52 run. Not that it matters, because the book went to shit without Bizarro and Artemis.

I see a lot of green where there should be red. Not a single issue of his deserves a "passing" score.

Not according to Doomsday Clock

Good. It'll make things simpler when we can get Jon reset back to his correct age.

Doomsday Clock is setting up 3 Jokers.

The scores on that site are all wildly inflated. The average is like an 8.

I seem to recall the score for the prior two issues of Superman were in yellow in the first day after release. I guess a bunch of positive reviews just popped up there not long after.

Porofessional critics always give positive reviews to get access and free stuff. At least they're slightly more honest than movie critics since they only get some free comics and merch while movie critics are invited to big fancy parties.

why jason wears a domino mask?

Because he did when he was Robin?

Taylor can deliver when he's allowed to go full retard

The problem isn't really even puff pieces, it's just the IGN effect but worse. People think that since a 'C' in school is average and about a 75%, that's how they scale their ratings. This makes no sense on a 10 point scale, but it results in a bunch fo reviews that are "the story was pretty good and I liked the art - 9/10." I have rarely ever seen a review less than 5/10 except for a few cranks that like to give out tons of 2/10s because it went against their headcanons.

They're all puff pieces.

The user scores (so far, because I have no way if people connected with DC or Bendis' fanbase reads these threads and then go vote) for his individual issues of Superman are:

#1: 7.4
#2: 6.8
#3: 7.2
#4: 7.5
#5: 7.1
#6: 6.6
#7: 4.9
#8: 6.0
#9: 6.1

>Finishing a statement with a question mark
Are you uncertain about what you're saying? Where you trying to be condescending towards that user? I honestly can't tell why people write like this.

Uncertainty, and tossing out a hypothesis.

What did he by this ?

Also, if you read it out loud, it more accurately presents the tone of the intended delivery.

Why not? Most of them are the best DC is giving atm

Fuck I thought DC necked this

>This is not the end…it’s only the beginning.
Not even Morrison tried to cling this long to the Bat

I would rub that leg with my face

>I have rarely ever seen a review less than 5/10 except for a few cranks that like to give out tons of 2/10s because it went against their headcanons.

Really? Cause this one's a review of Superman #9 that gave it a 3.0:

>The future vision is a jarring way to start the book, to say the least. It hearkens back to the vision that Zod had in issue five, but it's bizarre to start this issue with it since it really has nothing to do with anything. Zod's vision was his impetus to go and find Superman. This one is just there and gets explained away as Superman's subconscious coming out because he hasn't been sleeping… and then Superman explains why he doesn't need sleep. It's just a plain odd sequence. There's some clunky expository dialogue from Lois after the vision. Now, yes, every comic has the potential to be someone's first, but Bendis has been doing this for a long time and should be able to write much better exposition than this. The rest of the issue is pretty much a boilerplate Bendis book- a lot of words telling the story, but very little showing the story.

>That said, readers do get to see Jon figure a way out of his prison, and that's nice. Bendis is trying to grow the character, and that's a good thing, but he's doing it in a very Bendis way. We're shown Jon's break out, but after that, Jon just describes his trip from the volcano to the Crime Syndicate's base. Bendis could have cut back on some of the Ultraman and Jon scenes that went nowhere and showed readers Jon's journey. This would have been a way more effective use of page real estate.

>Ivan Reis and Brandon Peterson draw the present and flashbacks respectively, but Peterson's art is superior. It's immaculate and slick, with great detail and line work. Reis’ art is a bit muddled in places, especially on faces. There are a couple of times he draws a genuinely ugly Lois Lane, but the splash page he does of the meeting of the future superheroes in Superman's vision is pretty sweet.

>Superman #9 is a Bendis book through and through, and that's it's the biggest problem. Visual storytelling is about showing, not telling, and Bendis has always ignored that lesson completely. This issue wastes a lot of pages talking about Ultraman visiting Jon, a plot point that seemingly goes nowhere, that could have been better used showing Jon's journey through Earth-3. Ivan Reis’ art is hit or miss, but Peterson is shining right now. There's a glimmer of some good characterization for Jon in this one, but Bendis wastes it. That glimmer and Peterson's art are the high points of the book, but they aren't enough to save it. This issue had potential, but Bendis squandered it by indulging his base tendencies as a writer.

That's Didio's default state. Rebirth was a momentary blip where Johns was able to wrest some power away and let some heroes be happy for a short time. Now we're back in Didio's playpen.

Oh that makes more sense, it really confuses me sometimes especially when there's a discussion. I find it better to just type "Maybe because Jason wore a mask when he was Robin" to be a better sentence, conveying tone through text doesn't always work so I couldn't get what people were trying to say.

I tried doing that but it comes like valley girl speech to me when they always make everything sound like a question.

Superman is still fighting Bendis's shit OC?

Kenan isn't even a real kryptonian and neither has much to do with the House of El, still why would you want Bendis to get anywhere near him?

I don't mind the All Cast if they just change into a wing of the League of Assassins, rather than being tasked with saving the Earth from evil or whatever they were in 52. I mean lets face it Red Hood Lost days was pretty boring and repetitive after the 4th mentor murder..

>dexter onions
Never not laffin

The main problem with the All-Caste is... everything. It's filled with stupidity. The monks being actually immortal Cro-Magnons that gained immortality by drinking a puddle of mystical black slush, which may or may not be actual Trigon's cum. Them living in some secret dimension that doesn't exist in any map and can't be traced by any satellite - how people are even able to find it? Them knowing magic and being the real protectors of Earth. Them teaching Jason magic - Really, why?
The whole concept is filled with dumb, cringe things.

Depends on the direction, if it's mindless action mixed with some character moments he always does great. If it's trying to be ambitious, deep and political it will always be steaming shit. That's how Taylor works even if it's not what he means to.

Yeah this feels like the last arc of Priest's Deathstroke

Dude, we all know it's the daughter of Val-Zod and Power Girl Bendis. Just fuck off already. Shame that the art is so good on this book.

Wait a minute wasn't this was a coffin before?

>special guest artist Kelley Jones.
Oh boy, that's going to clash hard.
His variant cover for #1 was awful

Yes, but was changed because it was a huge spoiler. Anyway, it's already known what happens. Flashpoint Batman will try to bring the Waynes back from the death to make Bruce stop being Batman.

This is why I hate trinity shipping because WW always gets fucked over

The second they revealed in the first issue that Tim was lusting after a black chick, I knew this comic would have nothing at all to interest me. Yeah, I'm racist, whatever. It's just more current year SJVVertigo bullshit.

It only happens with the shitty SMWW.

Not at all. It's like Metal, only not canon. I wonder if the zombies are gonna be lucid like Marvel Zombies or straight up frenzied. I hope for the latter because we had the former in Blackest Night already and don't we just need a good old fashioned zombie story once in a while?

Not worth posting since 40% of them get cancelled before release

Ask me how EVERYONE ON THE PLANET knows you're a little bitch?

>purposefully dragging his feet
Bless him. But it's only delaying the inevitable. To be honest though, I actually like what Bendis is doing in AC right now, it seems like a very contemporary Superman comic. A bit like Powers with its investigative elements and it has me semi-hyped for Leviathan.

>Bless him.
Fuck you.

Fucking hype. I hope they reference the Mieville run and keep it at least slightly weird like that one was.

>imblying anybody wants Bendis to take over Batman
I can't wait for him to start quipping.

Nobody wants King Batman either. And King's dialogue is as bad as Bendis. It's like King's trying to outBendis Bendis.

Very true but King can at least write without making every other character quirky. That's gonna feel really out of place in a Batman book.

Probably won't be him, but I can dream.

Attached: Uncle_Dudley.jpg (624x352, 46K)

Its a really shitty costume. Too top heavy and not cohesion in the design elements. It looks like awkward “cosmic” armor.

Snyder is too busy writing his Batman Elseworld and planning DC’s next big event. Tynion is pretty much ghost-writing the book and adapting plot notes.

>DC BLACK LABEL is proud to present the definitive origin of Superman as rendered by the legendary comics creators Frank Miller and John Romita Jr.!

This is gonna blow up in Didio’s face again.

Just like the Bat Penis in Batman Damned, Miller is gonna donsomething crazy in Superman Year One. It was me all over the news. It will piss off Colbert. Then Pam Lifford is gonna come some hard on everyone at DC again. Then Didio is gonna censor/change the book and piss off Miller.

I'm super impressed this got to 18 issues. Way to almost hit 20 you beautiful bitch

I don't see Freedom Fighters. Is it getting cancelled at issue 6? They said it was going to be a twelve issue series.

First Snyder and now Bendis. RIP Morison's legacy...

We need new blood so badly. I don't know how DC can monetarily justify doubling down on garbage with Bendis.

Oh my God, are you literally this retarded?

I'm so freaking pumped. Two Year Ones to buy in June! (Though I'm a bit disappointed in Williamson for making his Year One six issues. Though he's far from the first one to stretch from four. And Batgirl Year One was great with 9 issues.)

This legion of doom story must come to an end. There are other villains for them to fight

My theory? Slade isn't dead, he's stuck in the same dimension as the two Power Girls. :)

Well, he has said he would naturally wrap things up at 50, so this is just 8 issues, which is a nice climactic arc.

Isn't this basically Wonder Woman's brother's costume?

Yes. Tamaki was all "I'm so glad I got to write intersectional feminism in a DC book" at the announcement. This should be America tier.
