What you all need to remember is that Superman JUST got Krypto the arc before the Bad Dog issue. This was Krypto's first time in combat, first time on Earth for that matter, so he very much was a wild animal. Superman still has to train him. I guess I should have prefaced the issue with that. As someone who had to train a dog I found it to be very relatable. Hopefully you'll enjoy this one more

Yeah you needed a bad guy that's throat wouldn't be torn out by Krypto, but could still activate Superman's almonds by trying to. It's great that Krypto tried to protect Lois, but fact of the matter is Krypto instantly went for the kill shot at his master being threatened.

the issue is not that Mongul is getting killed, you don't want to reinforce a dog in a bad habit, if superman hadn't reprimanded Krypto it would make him think its ok to always go for the kill.

This is the same guy that had Joker released from Arkham by Harvey Dent cause he didn't kill Tommy Elliot in Hush. Cause you can only lock up people for their latest crime. All the hundreds he killed before don't count. And you know, it's not like he was in Arkham cause of insanity or anything.
