No more episodes of Beebo the cat what has facial hair.

Youtube started paying people oh and megaupload was a thing.

Only way they can survive now is being the naughty animated youtube with porn games.

>i swear to god
>if you kill.
>one more Australian
>in my restruant
>i'm going to put this phone
>in your ass

Youtube started to pay people and got more traffic than ever

Steam made regular games more acessible and cheap making flash games near pointless

Deviantart format is way way better to socialize with fans and other artists

It didn't adapt. The website still looks like something out of 2008 and better things came along.

Now we're all just waiting for better things to come along than youtube, steam and deviantart.

>started
That was the idea until that fell apart from the boom and rise of "content" creator channels.
Now its a bubble machines of ifs and buts when it comes to making any kind of cash flow.

Kinda sadder too when the whole safe for work stuff isn't even for the audience who watches but is more intended to please some executive in a suit from ever sending you an email [and even then they'll still find something OFFENDING in your video]

I still use newgrounds, it's easier to find animation there.

Is godfart still workin' on that last ep?

>wrong
It regained relevancy thanks to Tumblr imploding.

it's still going strong

>Flash started to die, most front-end web devs opting for HTML5 instead, resulting in lazily-made shovelware-tier games and videos
>Behemoth popularity died down after Castle Crashers
>YT paid animators way more for less
>Indie game devs flocked to Steam because of how it easy it was to showcase content there (larger userbase to start with too)
>Tumblr censorship didn't make big enough waves for userbase to grow

say it

Attached: im gonna do it.png (1543x1029, 51K)

it was always niche site and it never wanted to gain major popularity

Any artists here still on Tumblr? Is it even worth it anymore? I made an account some time ago and I got absoulely zero notes on any of my art when I dumped everything in my gallery.

I haven't uploaded in a minute because I haven't been drawing.

Once I played a hentai trivia game where you supposedly got to see a hentai pic as a reward for answering an unrelated trivia question. The first question was "Who was the titular monster in Resident Evil 3?" This actually happened to be my favorite game at the time so I knew the answer was "Nemesis". For what ever reason that answer was counted as incorrect and I rage quit and went back to playing dress up games.

Every time I go to tumblr nowadays my feed is barren and I get depressed.
I have no desire to draw anymore, too.

Even if tumblr is still popular and even still has porn being posted, it just somehow feels like it's spiritually dead.

Woahwo wo wo wo wo brotha

>Thought that because all the popular artists moved to different websites, this could be my time to move up

Turns out the audience for those popular artists fucking jumped shit too so there's no point trying to salvage whatever is left.
Tumblr is dead so you're better off posting on Twitter and sucking off popular artist dick there

As if, come january no one gave a shit about newgrounds amd most artists kept posting doodles on twitter to stay relevant

Any artist with a brain knows they have to post their stuff on as many platforms as possible. That's why a lot keep 2-3 websites on their list for current updates and Newgrounds is one I've been seeing a lot more of alongside Artstation, Twitter, and Pixiv.

Sooner or later Twitter is probably going to come down on their NSFW community and that will just make Newgrounds even more lucrative to focus on.

I wish twitter would commit porn genocide too, that way artists would be forced to use a fucking gallery instead.

Why did they have to migrate to twitter of all places? I never liked tumblr but browsing twitter for art is unbearable.

>newgrounds
>lucrative
Only for fulp and friends

this

Its easier to gain (you)s on twitter because so many people use it.

>people discussing something in a tweet
>interject with some barely relevant waifu drawing and leave without saying anything else
>curious people will check the source
You'd be surprised how often this works

>final episode of Perfect Kirby never ever

I can tell you from personal experience that posting on Newgrounds is a great way to increase exposure. And people pledging on my Patreon.

I believe tumblr invaded it a few months ago. Was ok before then.

Every single social media I post on gives me absolutely no response. It's really like throwing stuff in a void. I put tags but no spam, I make colored work, I interact with other people, I stick to art as much as I can without weird rants or anything, nothing. My art is decent but it's niche so even if people see it it's hard that they'll like it, but they don't see it in the first place. I get some 1k impressions per post on twitter. Posted a drawing as a reply to a popular person and got 11k impressions. And almost nobody followed me from that anyway, I just got lots of likes.
Made Insta Tumblr DA, 0 followers.

I mean its not much but the top ranked flash for the month wins 250$

You have to know how to promote yourself and know what you're selling and to who. A lot of webcomics live and die and nobody notices because it's a saturated market and those that follow them aren't the kind to give money and just want it for free. The exception being those that have been around for over a decade. As for art in general there's a few easy ways to go about it and of course the easiest is fanart. Latch on to something popular and people will be actively looking for it. Even if you do original art and don't like doing fanart, doing it anyway is best way to get some attention. You also have to be patient and consistent. It also helps being a good artist or at least catering to a fetish.

Do you make fannart? Always make fannart of every new trend, every popular new game, cartoon and even meme.

Also if you're good then try to make art trades with other artists.

I hate this trend hopping shit and I only do fanart of things I like which are rather obscure. I don't like doing fanart in general too so it's very occasional, I just want to draw my original stuff. Also fanart is completely useless to me because my subject matter is so specific and unusual that people just don't follow me even if they see the fanart. I have drawn a relatively popular thing recently and it did nothing.
Maybe I'll try doing art trades, but since I have no followers who would ever want to trade with me?

At some point I fucking gave up drawing fanart constantly

I don't actually have fun drawing it nor do I can the followers or likes needed to move up because fucking everyone is fucking drawing it so it's already saturated day one, like those pokemon gen 8 starters

I feel like at this point you're better off drawing your own thing. Everything is too saturated now because almost everyone online is an artist

The secret to fanart is that it's easier to find. You search for a popular character and you find an artist you never heard about. How can you find an artist you never heard about if they only do characters that you also never hear about.

Now there's also things like people sharing art and artists that are original and that gaining popularity but that's more about getting lucky and managing to hook people with just a few seconds to do so.

But fanart is easy and fast and the best way to get noticed. There's a lot of artists who have original characters but they're also known for their fanart and that's how people found them in the first part. Some artists hate that and that's fine but you have embrace it and realize that it's for the sake of getting noticed. Do a sexy Raven image and someone adds you to their watch list. Then you start doing original content and they see it and like it and become invested in your original work. The main thing is just getting noticed. There's a number of ways to do it but fanart is the easiest.

The point is that fanart only works if your subject matter is somewhat similar to the fanart. I could draw sexy Raven but people go on my profile and see art that is completely different so they just don't follow?
I have made a couple fanarts with an older handle that I see uploaded all over the internet - with attribution - and nobody followed me even though I got hundreds of notes.
It's really all smoke and mirrors, fanart is only useful if you do very mainstream stuff.

Attached: images.jpg (363x510, 16K)

What do you draw exactly? Robots? Furries? Aliens? Weapons? Planes? Fruits?

Some kinds will never be popular you know, people will never be interested on some gallery full of cars drawings.

Also do you make comics or animations? Do you have any projects?

Why would anyone think your gallery is interesting?

Fuck I rememeber him posting news about another episode, but that was years ago now and he deleted his facebook.

HOTHEAD

Well if you draw cute fanart of girls but your original art is gore and violence then of course there's going to be a vast difference. If your original characters are goth girls then you do fanart of goth girls. If you like gay buttsex then you draw fanart of hot guys being gay.

Think like a businessman. Find your audience, get their attention, then promote yourself and your product. The important thing is getting noticed. You can draw the most amazing stuff ever but if nobody notices you or cares then don't expect to gain a following.

And most importantly don't think fanart or networking is beneath you. Have fun and branch out. Don't complain. Just do it.

Wat?

This. These social media shitholes are not made to host art

You need to whore yourself more. Make fanart for garbage fandoms and whatever shitty trend is going on at the time. Suck cocks of everyone you interact with and be annoyingly pc about everything

i dont get it

>no pico on sight or ultimate showdown
you guys are depressing

Nothing. Time marches on. Things run their course.

Are you guys exaggerating or has Tumblr seriously lost a big chunk of its relevance? I never got an account there because I hated how the site worked, but I assumed it had grown too big and that it lacked notable competitors. I figured even if people got angry about their policy changes and even if they said they would jump ship, there would be no good alternatives to go for.

>but I assumed it had grown too big and that it lacked notable competitors.
The site is pretty much a twitter clone.

Whenever I eat at a diner and I order a sandwich, I always say
>Hmmm...significantly less pubic hair.

Why did it have to die?

>That's quite an incredible story!
>Oh we--
>GET THE FUCK OUTTA MY HOOOOOOOOOOOUSE!!

Better programs than flash came out.

By that I mean flash really sucks. The best you could do in flash is an easy effort in anything else.

Newgrounds didn't advance with the times.

>Got rid of porn and porn ads.
>Youtube was paying out more.
>Better animation programs and video files that they didn't bother to update for.

>Better programs than flash came out.
Then where are all the better-than-flash simpke interactive flash games?

On steam for 8 dollars.

>It didn't adapt... site still looks like something out of 2008
>Posting this on Yea Forums

Tumblr is literally nothing but reblogs of 10 year old dad jokes and retarded theater jokes from 2012. Banning porn literally killed the site.

>The website still looks like something out of 2008
>newgrounds
>2008

I fucking hate Twitter because it makes it extremely hard to find new people in my opinion. On tumblr, all you had to do was search a tag, on Twitter, the results are shit and I have to spend 20 hours to find something good.

Also plz link your Twitter if you do art I would appreciate that

My tumblr's growth has slowed down from top dog to about Pixiv levels. I get somewhat more activity on deviantart and much more activity on Twitter. Newgrounds is still below all of them.

But across all platforms combined I only have 8k followers, so it's possible I'm reading too much into small waves that still make a big difference for my activity levels. Just my 2 cents.

Why do you think we got such a massive influx from there. who won't fucking leave

Twitter is hard to search porn for of specific characters compared to Tumblr's tagging system but Newgrounds is even fucking worse.

>Tumblr bans porn
>are in a great position to update their 90s web design, add features and get porn artist refugee bux
>do fuck all
>ban lolis
They were given an opportunity on a silver plate and they blew it.

Considering how boards outside of /lgbt/ and Yea Forums tend to be seen as /pol/ and Yea Forums clones, it's less that we got an influx and more that those who were already here started posting more often.

Eh. They did update and adjust a shit ton. I'm just waiting on that lit portal update that has been promised for the last few years.

Tumblr lost about 100 million views per month because of the ban.
It's dead, Jim

>Twitter is cancerous as fuck and impossible to navigate
>Newgrounds is impossible to navigate
>Deviantart got rid of anything other than softcore shit years ago
>Pillowfort still in beta

Fuck this. It's been fucking months. Why has no other site stepped up to the podium yet?

NEWSGROUND IS WHERE THE FLASH PORN LIVES!

I still post on Twitter, but it's just links to when I've posted elsewhere since nearly all of what I make is dumb smut.

I still get follows and maybe 150-300 notes on the links (as opposed to 1.5k-3k), but I already had a like 40k following when they banned porn. If you're new blood I would recommend just using Twitter and not even bothering with Tumblr.

I support NG but I don't post my smut on it, I'm not sure how well "the numbers game" works in the art portal these days.

>I still post on Twitter

I still post on tumblr*. Sorry, early morning.

OLD GODZILLA WAS HOPPING AROUND

This, why the fuck anyone moved to Twitter is beyond me

because a lot of people use it and thus it's well known.

Social media offers a broader audience than just the artfags that would frequent an actual gallery.

Normies ruin everything yet again.

Twitter is good for some things, like getting instant updates on things. So it's great for some types of news and conferences. I use it to keep up with science news. But yeah, it's shit for art

It's almost impossible to grow on Twitter though. People actually follow tags on Tumblr so you can quickly grow followers if you post relevant stuff. On Twitter you'd be lucky if anyone ever notices you if you don't have any connections. I've seen beautiful fanart on Twitter barely able to muster even 10 likes, because the artist doesn't have a following. Reaching 10k notes-equivalent is an amazing accomplishment on Twitter, while during the golden age of Tumblr it was a regular occurrence for many artists.

Tumblr's a walking cadaver. Dead is better

Yeah, It's a quite a bit harder to find stuff on twitter since many people don't bother tagging stuff as much compared to Tumblr

>western artists use shitty website not meant for hosting art
>it closes
>move to another site that is no better for the artist
They deserve this shit. Why is it do hard for someone to clone pixiv, or even a booru.

Attached: 1550399060031.jpg (907x778, 72K)

>Pixiv made their own Twitter clone that makes it extremely easy to source images and follow artists
>Japanese are all moving there
Twitter no more

This, market segmentation is Business 101 stuff. Draw what you're most interested in, and check out other artists who draw the same content to see what their fans like. As long as you're squatting on the same tags, those fans are going to see you.

dis

>Only way they can survive now is being the naughty animated youtube with porn games.
That's what they'd been for years, user. When was the last time you visited? They have a growing art community of Tumblr refugees.

10k notes isn't an accomplishment, it just means you drew a butt on the right anime character or animated literally anything.

>learns that many websites are banning porn from their platforms
Uh, Anons? Are we living in the darkest timeline right now?

back to the late 90s

>Why its so hard to clone an outdated website or a booru site where people can't follow artists and barely comment their works

Why are weebs so retarded?

Most artists are on Twitter, even the Japanese ones

many japanese artists ran out after the loli ban.

Those pedos deserved it.

Problem being the retarded left, as usual, wasn't satisfied with just the inch of real problem and is trying their goblin claws at the surrounding mile.

Arbys is cp guys!!!

Twitter's mostly about connections, but there's also curators and official random accounts.

Curators are the people that actually use the search engine to find and retweet good content.
Not every type of content has big and active curators tho, and it can be a crapshoot to guess which tags would likely attract them. And if you include too many tags in your tweet you may come off as desperate.

Official fandom accounts is something like @avasdemon that's a mix of official announcements and fanarts.
So if you want your Ava's Demon fanart to gain traction, don't just use hashtags and searchable plaintext, also include @avasdemon. But don't put it at the very start or Twitter will file your tweet as a Reply and it won't be visible to your Followers unless they follow both you and @avasdemon.
Of course you can also try to find curators yourself and try to get their attention with @mentions.

shortstacks and petite are also being called child porn.

I was very disappointed that animators and video creators didn't utilize Flash to its fullest potential. Flash isn't like VLC and BsPlayer. Flash is an interactive program on a computer which has many utilities beyond audio-visual mediums for movies.

Yet not 1 Flash cartoon let you change the color palettes of the characters, backgrounds, and any other modifications.
Not 1 Flash cartoon tried to combine a point and click adventure game with a movie.

Absolutely weird.

Darkest timeline was confirmed since WWI

Deviantart seems to be making a reboot website, outside of that I've been following some guys create their own website.
It was too good for its age.

They wont go to newgrounds. From what I've seen from certain artists, they REALLY dislike the voting system (as their art is usually voted down to half of 1 star to bearly above halve of 2 or 3).

Banned StrawberryClock.

Pixiv format is worse than deviantart

Attached: d63.jpg (150x150, 6K)

I have to say this, I fucking hate scrolling through lists, and would wish porn artists would use a god damn gallery so I don't have to scroll through a shit ton of unrelated memes and rants just to get to that specific fetish piece

It's called DEVIANTart. Why the fuck is it so goddamn tame!

I mean when you're an artist, people seeing it and spreading it is pretty much your end goal. Well that and receiving money for it. But even if you get exposure by drawing something popular or riding trends, that's still exposing you to new potential customers.

...
