What do you think of this?
Is it worth buying?
Providence
>worth buying
fucking no
>worth reading
yeah, especially if you like both parts of neonomicon
That comic is an odd animal. I mean, in order to get all the references and full impact of the things that happen in the story, you need to be a hardcore Lovecraft junkie... but if you are such a person, I find it difficult that you would enjoy what Moore does with the characters and the themes in the mythos.
but user, fish rape is artistic and oscarworthy performance
Why do you imagine it would be difficult? Moore's take on the mythos is very interesting. It diverges from Lovecraft's work quite a bit but that doesn't make it inferior.
Fish rape is in another comic, user.
Providence has guy transferring his soul to his daughter's body, then briefly transferring it to the body of a gay man so he can rape his daugher's body.
I'm a hardcore HPL fan and I love everything Moore has done with it. We've had to deal with hacks like Colin Wilson shitting all over HPL's stuff, having someone actually talented doing interesting stuff is great, as long as you're not a n autistic canon fag (which HPL obviously wasn't).
Do you think that people saying "fish rape" have actually read the comics?
I doubt they even read the HPL stories since there's fish rape there.
This. IIRC, that cave with Deep One is only briefly mentioned in Providence. Or was it in yet another comic? Shit, I can't remember.
Didn't say it was inferior, user. Just that the type of hardcore fan who knows every small detail of the stories, arguably won't appreciate an alternate interpretation.
I’ve done both, user. Fishrape is shit. Point to the rape scene in HPL, please.
>fishrape
>in HPL stories
wasnt he afraid of sex and niggers??
>gets to be the loli
>and also to fuck the loli
That guy was living the dream.
Bitter and political Alan Moore gay-washes over Lovecraft's original works.
>Point to the rape scene in HPL, please.
Not him, but it's implied that in The Shadow Over Innsmouth, the hybrids were product of forced breeding with Deep Ones.
Have you even read Shadow Over Innsmouth? 'Cause the core of the whole story is fish rape.
No it isn’t.
I asked specifically for a rape scene. I’m not going to be a oissy bitch about it, thogh. It’s been ages since I read that story, honestly. I thought the sailors just rought it back and bred it into their familes. Again, though, it’s been ages, so if you say it’s rape, I’ll take your word for it.
Fishrape sucks.
>forced
user, I...
The Courtyard is the best.
I never said there was a scene, because there isn't. But fish rape is there.
Obed Marsh wasn't forced, but the rest of Innsmouth were.
Yeah. I thought it was volentary too. HPL was terrified of race-mixing.
>the rest of Innsmouth were
Fuck, did they? I thought everyone went the "''Obed way'''' tho.
What did he mean by this?
‘Implied’ means he’s guessng, user.
When Innsmouth people try to take down Obed Marsh and his cult, fish people come on land and kill about half of the town, forcing the rest to join the cult.
If you're a Moore completist, yes.
Storytime with this when? Alternatively, link to download?
Sounds like it ends in fish rape for many. There's prolly a lot of implied, veiled, and otherwise "hidden" sexual references in HPL -- there's so much is about the breeding with "things" (miscegenation) that pollute the lineages of Humanity.
Poor Elspeth.
Well, you have a lot of inbreeding going on in his stories too. There is a sexual element to his stories, although is subdued and always disgusting and/or terrifying.
Unlike Moore, I do not think HPL was a closeted homosexual. Some of his acquaintances were gay but he didn't seem to really care one way or the other, so it doesn't seem it was a big conflict for him.
I think the source of his frustration with sex actually came from the love/hate relationship he had with women.
It still doesn't bother me at all, and doesn't get in the way of enjoying the comic since it's obviously not factual a biography nor it pretends to be.
when jannies go to sleep
Can some kind user share us a storytime?
