New Miraculous Ladybug Episode Today

Animaestro premieres at 4:30 UK time on the Disney Channel. "A humble animator gets akumatized after their life's work gets insulted. As the villain Animaestro they try to show Paris the value of animation as an artistic medium for mature stories, through mindless slap stick violence!"

...Are they taking the piss?

I want to say yes...but no. Also, I'm SURE this isn't Thomas' rumored self-insert episode! This has absolutely NOTHING to do with the Ladybug movie coming out in the next few years, nothing as all!

I get the suspicion you’re not being completely truthful here.

I assume the user added moronic colorful language to their post since it doens't match the actual description.

Here's the stream link:

It used to say Oblivio for today, but at least we're getting an episode.

How much longer for us non-brits?

almost 2 hours exactly from this post

It's on right now.

Did someone record it?

I've been pronouncing Thomas' name wrong this whole time. I thought it was more like "Awe-Struck," but's actually been "Ass-Struck" this whole time. That's hilarious.

It's on YouTube.

> Marinette & Chloe pulls a Tom & Jerry esque plan and, instead make fool of Kagami, they managed to akumatize non-Astruc together.

Tell me why these two aren't friends yet. They are at least funnier as accomplices than as rivals.

Also, for a villain with toonforce, Animaestro is kinda a post thought.

This episode was a riot. One of my favorite in the show so far. Now I kind of want to see Kagami and Marinette team up against Chloe, and Chloe and Kagami team up against Marinette to complete the circle. The dynamics between these three are top tier.

anyone got a link?

I think the ep makes it clear Kagami doesn't plan on having any schnanigans to eliminate her competion. She just wants to strike on her own, ie just telling Chloe outright to fuck off within seconds of meeting her.

And she's winning at the moment so....

youtu.be/mvwhd7zi-hY

this episode is comedy gold

And I don't think that's what Austruc was going for either.

Marinette and Chloe are teaming up together

Marinette couldn't stop tripping over herself for like 10 minutes straight at the start

no one understands what a director does nor recognizes the director at all

I think this episode is rather clearly playing for laughs

thanks

Attached: ladybug you too.png (516x670, 649K)

yeah it was pretty funny

>No one recognizes the director.
Excuse me? It’s the director who always take the whole credit for everything.

yeah but when it comes to animation most people don't even realize the work requires a director or understand what an animation director does

i feel like them becoming friends is an inevitably keep. but seriously i don't know if it's just because of screentime but chloe seem to have much better chemistry with marinette than alya.

Directors at least get aknowledged, artists sometimes get known if their previous work was popular, animators get a bone 1% of the time, musicians are on their own, no one cares about the SFX composes, and writers only get shat on when there’s a bad episode otherwise the director takes their credit.

Marinette's just one of those characters who really shines when she's not being babied by her supporting cast.

It's one of the reasons that I love the fact that Marinette has so many female antagonists in the form of Chloe, Lilla, ad Kagami. Her character becomes 10x as entertaining when she's working off from those three.

Any good images?

Attached: Ladybug17.jpg (1920x1080, 130K)

If Thomas’s character was working on this movie for 3 years and its about ladybug and chat noir… Does that mean that ladybug and chat noir have been around for 3 years??

I'm pretty sure that it's supposed to be a reference to how long since the show started airing. But yeah, when you think about it that is probably a plot hole.

There is no timeline, dates don't matter. Watch, the French version will have it worded differently. Like how Mari and Adrien are 14 in English, but just had "A" birthday in French.

It might have just been that a general 'superhero' movie was in production for three years, and it was given a Ladybug/Chat Noir skin at the last minute because those two are topical at the moment. It's not like Hollywood doesn't pull stuff like this all the time to capitalize on pop culture trends.

...I hate the fact that time does not matter. It's perfectly ok for some shows but for a show with a story that is suppossed to go foward? It's horrible.

a real shame that Chloe had to wear her normal outfit while everyone else got to dress up

also Adrien was such a non-character this episode, its kinda sad, he was just an object for girls to fight over but its ok because best girl was great, I only wish we had been allowed to bask in the glory of Queen Bee yet again

Attached: tumblr_po9zcvrrFr1rradbfo1_1280.png (702x1197, 356K)

Maybe Adrien was like an object this episode to represent how none of them actual see him as a person but just something to get? ...Or not.

There is no continuity, just whatever the immediate episode's plot needs to mention.

Yeah, Chloe's attitude towards Adrien is somewhat dehumanizing. And Marinette wasn't much better this episode, to her everlasting shame.

The story can still progress, just not time. Spider-Man pretty much takes place at the same time. You don't spend a quarter to half the comics in snow, just a few specials. That's what Ladybug is doing.

>girls
>actually being called out for objectifying men
>in a cartoon that caters to little girl wish fulfillment and power fantasies
Kek. Good one.

Attached: eebab21d4c1c8ab833e5b26f3624b9b9--over-sized-pink-sweater.jpg (736x959, 88K)

how was it not being called out? Like Marinette literally helped Chloe cause an akuma, by thinking of Adrien like that

Marinette doesn't continue to go along with Chloe she realizes trusting Chloe was the dumbest thing she did all day

>All those Sailor Moon and DBZ references
>Marinette in a maid outfit
why are the french such a massive weebs?

To be honest, I know the show will never REALLY "acknowledge" how almost nobody is treating Adrien as a human being with his own wants and needs. The kid doesn't need 3 (kinda more with his fangirls, I guess?) "fighting" over him. Hell, even his dad don't really care. "Adrien is just Adrien, he will just accept everything you throw at him without whinning, so it's perfectly ok!"

>why are the french such a massive weebs?

youtube.com/watch?v=LtMN2srjDe4

>Thomas turned into a girl
>at least twice

>TFW when French kids literally grew up with ton of animes on their national channel.

That's going to bite them in the ass when their big movie that they want to sync up with the show comes out.

I think they said the movie is planned to be the Origins episode again but with a bigger budget.

i get the feeling his inevitable akumatization gonna be related to that.

>We meet Felix, Adrien cousin who looks a lot like him.
>Afrien gets akumatized as himself
>Felix gets to be Chat Noir for one episode.
>Adrien gets back to normal, Felix has to give back the miraculous to Master Fu
>He doesn't want to.
>Chat Blanc.

Won't happens but whatever.

After today's episode, I wouldn't be surprised if Adrien's akumatisation had something to do with the fact that it looks like he's getting an arranged marriage to Kagami, but still feels like his heart belongs to Ladybug. Did anyone get a good screenshot of those documents Natalie and Mrs. Tsurugi were signing?

That was the now cancelled Live Action film.

The movie is supposed to be part of the plot and feature all the heroes introduced so far.

It's Lorem ipsum

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lorem_ipsum

>I only wish we had been allowed to bask in the glory of Queen Bee yet again

They really need to come up with a better way to get those guys into the action, that doesn't involve spending 5 mintues of the episode heading off to visit Fu. Even if it's just having Marinette hold all their miraculous's in her infinite space yo-yo in the chance they're around when problems go down.

This is the 2nd time so far they had one of their backups around and unable to help because they don't have time to stop the fight and go get their Miraculous.

Between that and them almost never using LB and CN's alternate modes and I've never seen a merchandise based series refuse to advertising it's own stuff like this before.

To be fair, it's not like they really needed her as back up. Chat and Ladybug had the situation pretty much under control with just the two of them.

Ass-Truck

Hehe

I mean they never really need anyone, as they can always bullshit up a way to win.

It's more about them not using the stuff they've actually put in the show.

"Kagami in Riposte: You really like marinette, don’t you? :)

Kagami in Frozer: You need to stop hesitating, Marinette. Make a move or it’ll be too late.

Kagami in Animaestro: *glares at marinette with distaste*"

Just because she's a good sportsman in regards to her rivalry, doesn't mean that Marinette isn't her rival. Don't forget that she all but told Adrien to 'change targets' in Frozer when she thought that he might be interested in Marinette.

>>They used the original 2D Trailer for the "Movie"
You cheeky motherfuckers

Attached: WILD PUSSY.png (113x96, 11K)

Marinette had the PV on DVD and wanted to watch it with Alya during their sleepover. Is this episode before Rena was introduced? Who knows!

It's free real estate.

>original 2D
clips:

Attached: Miraculous Ladybug PV 2D1 noaudio.webm (1280x720, 2.51M)

It could be that the dvd Alya had was for the cartoon that aired first, while this was the tie in a movie premiering. It would be a good mirror for Miraculous Ladybug itself since it's been going on for a while, while the tie in movie won't come out for maybe another year or so.

We know it's not because Chloe's pissed that Queen Bee wasn't in the trailer. And she came after Rena.

>Sailor Moon
I don't know why but it felt more like a Pretty Cure reference to me in both transformation and design

Well yeah. As far as she can tell Marinette is extremely flaky, if not activelly leading Adrien on, and yet Adrien's still aparantly interested and sabotaging her own chances.

Kagami's probably beginning to actively dislike her now.

I mean it's consistant with Adrien the face of Gabriel just being someone that only does what's expected of him with no desires of his own, and Chat Noir being the "real" Adrien.

Season 3 ends with every female character hating Marinette in someway or another.

>Adrien voices Chat in the movie
>maybe even the whole TV show
And he was worried about a music video.

That sounds like that dumb shit people say about batman/superman.

Adrien doesn't act like cat noir when he's around friends or even alone with plagg. A "hyper exagerated" version of adrien I'm willing to believe, but "real" adrien just seems like a stupid fan thing.

That's like saying a drunk dude is his "real" self.

It's more akin to how people first act when they figure out they can be anonymous online. No filter because they feel like they're not going to be held accountable.

The reason why people say this is Adrien's 'true self' is because so much of his inner turmoil is centered around the fact that he feels trapped by his current life and the expectations associated with it. He desperately wants the freedom to act however he pleases, and his stint as Chat is the only chance he really gets to do that.

Adrien wouldn't have stormed off in the Christmas special and Cataclysmed his own freaking poster if he was satisfied with his role there.

Bruce does act like Batman when he's around his friends. The fact that he can be nice isn't a point against that he's still Batman with them, he's not the fake Bruce he shows the world.

That was more Adrien being angry that he was going to end up spending Christmas alone since his mother had spent the last year MiA and his father was busy moping. He wasn't even aiming for his own poster at first. He was aiming for the city Christmas tree, and then switched it at the last minute when he realized that it was something his mother wouldn't have wanted him to do.

>the value of animation as an artistic medium for mature stories
>in a formulaic Villain of the Week show
lulz

They already make a joke about that themselves
>through mindless slap stick violence!

OP here, I wrote that summery as a joke, I wasn't expecting that to actually be true.

He doesn't act like batman when it's him in the cave eating Alfred's cookies. Or rare occasions when it's the robins and dinner.

He acts like his regular damn self when around people he knows and loves. Even simple shit like when he lowers his guard around Commissioner Gordon.

Just like Clark Kent at home during christmas with his parents, or in this case, Adrien doesn't act like cat noir when he's hanging with nino/ayla/mari. Even when it's Adrien and plagg he never goes full cat noir. Maybe 50% but not full cat noir.

>the 2d toei PV as the trailer of the movie.
>Marinette and Chloe teaming up.
>Marinette wearing a maid outfit.
>Astruc turns into a 2d sailor for the final battle.

11/10.

Club Dorothée, user.French boomers were fans of Goldorake and Candy Candy

This chapter just reinforced my hatred of Thomas Astruc.
My god what a fucking asshole.

How? The episode was great. It was a nice tribute to several different styles/genres of animation, gave us a fun team up with Marinette and Chloe, and had some really relevant commentary on the disrespect that animated works get from the rest of Hollywood/mainstream media.

because it reminded me of how cool the PV was and how shit this show is.

Attached: thirst.png (758x512, 349K)

The man wanted to do the PV originally. He's the one who commissioned it in the first place. The networks refused to fund it so he had to pitch something more kid-friendly. If you want to point the finger at anyone, ZAG is more deserving.

>The networks refused to fund it so he had to pitch something more kid-friendly.
That is to say, something that can be merchandised to hell and back.

Yeah, but he still treats people who thought it looked cool like shit. Or at least he did at the begining of the show.

Hey, look at this thing I'm doing!

Boo, go back to the way it used to look.

If I was mandated to mutate my creation to appeal to corporate overlords and then got reminded on a daily basis by twitter whos that my original idea was better, I'd probably react with copious amounts of salt too.

where is this from?

I don't recall there being more pages to this comic yet

not my fault he's a sellout who can't stick to his ideals.

It wasn't even that. It was the whole maknig season 1 with no continuity extremely formulatic and jumping right into it without a proper origin story.

All for what ended up being a moot point because US networks, as usual have no interest in anything that isn't a cheap comedy series they completely own and control and it got bumped to Netflix after one year.

As someone mentioned they don't merchandise it at all, as despite having 3 other heroes and 6 or so power up modes for the main duo, of which we've seen only 2 so far, they still have 95 percent of the episodes being vanilla LB and CN only, so clearly the sponsors aren't pushing them to sell merch too hard.

The merch is selling fucking everywhere, except ironically in America.

I found three new pages I think he does them every so often.

Attached: tfffgfj.png (908x571, 716K)

where?

could you post them in the ladybug thread on /aco/?

So, do we know when the next new episode is? I haven't been keeping track since they bumped half of February's episodes off.

Posting them there now

Attached: sffxg.png (1001x408, 352K)

Next Monday I believe. It's Oblivio

Eh. I'm holding out for Miraculeur.

Does ladybug smell good after sweating in that suit?

Attached: FragrantSneakyBighorn-small.gif (245x170, 322K)

Best part was watching Gabriel un-transform & race to the scene.

thanks

she doesn't sweat while in the suit, because magic

I'm so tired of the "love rivals" or whatever the fuck they wanna call them. There's virtually no chance of either being endgame for the show, save for Astruc/Zag losing their minds, and other than adding to what's quickly becoming and annoying subplot, Kagami and Luka don't really add much. Them not being around all that often really hasn't helped, either

>Adrien voices Chat Noir in his own movie
>Marinette/Ladybug probably goes nuts over it, saying how good it is and how she would fall head over heels for the real Chat if he sounded like that
>The real Chat, very confused on how he should take all this

The French and Japanese have had mutual boners for each other ever since they learned about each other, this is a matter of historical record going back over 200 years.

>Kagami
>the obvious false flag
>winning

Attached: drydryd.png (1290x937, 1.21M)

Oblivio is going ti be about an akuma with memory wipe powers. Some kind of confession/reveal between ladybug and chat is going to happen then memories erased. Astruc said the episode would make us go crazy

Wouldn't the lucky charm just restore everyone's memories at the end of the episode? Even shit unrelated to the akumas get fixed by that thing. I mean, even Thomas's cake pants and allergies were fixed by the lucky charm.

The only limit that thing should have would be genie rules. If someone dies during an akuma attack I figure they wouldn't come back to life but lost memories seem like a weird limitation.

If we're talking about the Thomas hype I just assume shipping shenanigans when everyone doesn't know who each other are.

>Adrien voices Chat Noir in the movie
>Marinette still doesn't notice that Adrien sounds just like the real Chat Noir

There HAS to be some sort of magic going on that deters people from making obvious connections about the Miraculous users' secret identities.

I'm still betting that will be the power swap episode. Tikki and Plagg will be stucked with each other partner because shenaningans and, with both Marinette and Adrien amnesic, they have no choice except switch partners temporarily.

Obviously, I could be dead wrong.

Eh, if anything, the only bad part was Astruc literally inserts himself in the episode, but it was fun. Chloe and Marinette team up was sure worth it.

tons, but not really worth it at that low quality resolution.

>dat Maid Marinette

Attached: ladybug maid.jpg (854x480, 103K)

Someone should do webms with Marinette searching her macaron and Chloe's plan to mess with Kagami, that shit was smart and fun.

Flat-rinette

Attached: ladybug flat.jpg (854x480, 70K)

It's not like he made himself chad McThundercock or something.

I can kinda remember a few series where that happened, but not recently.

Guys, pleas help me to remember name of the cartoon about animals in high school where school queen bee among main characters was literal bee. Also as far as I remember MC was tiger or something.

Attached: images.jpg (196x257, 12K)

He said at the moment user...

She's certainly spending way more time with Adrien than Marinette currently is.

Well they've gotta go something to drag out the reveal.

Do you have a webm on hand?

Well he inserts himself as a loser, so there's that.

He'll get akumatized because Ladybug rejected him extra-hard, because they always go for the lamest and most anticlimatic way to reveal things that the fans wait for.

>Astruc said the episode would make us go crazy
Wow, more bait episodes that will mean absolutely nothing to the overall plot? That sure will make me go crazy allright.

Actually I don't mind that he self-inserted. I just got annoyed at the fact that it felt like a jab at everyone who still likes the PV.

Waitwaitwaitwaitwaitwaitwaitwaitwaitwaitwait....wait...There's Maid Marinette?...just time

This scene's got me thinking. They've been working in Kagami's mom Tomoe Tsurugi. She's clearly going to be a player and plot mover in this season. In this scene they're signing documents. To what? I have three theories regarding it.

One, she has a connection to the miraculous and in fact, owns another miraculous box. Gabriel could be somehow acquiring it and maybe create his "Psycho Rangers".

Second theory is it's the beginning of an arranged marriage between Adrien and Kagami. I have no doubt in my mind Gabriel is so controlling that he would even say who his son is going to marry.

My last theory is that it's a legal guardianship paper, in case the Sûreté finally catches on to him, that Adrien is taken care of.

Attached: tumblr_po9ozcx1Sd1rk07ux_400.jpg (400x236, 30K)

Agreed, this ep was fun as fuck best one of the season so far. Astruc is based.

>tfw your fav crackship finally interacts
>tfw its exactly how you imagined and more

I can die happy now

Attached: Dragon Queen.jpg (236x350, 17K)

Fuck off plotfag, this episode was legit good.

>All that ends up happening is that Ladybug and Chat lose all their memories and the Kwamis have to recoach them into defeating the Akuma to undo it.

>One, she has a connection to the miraculous and in fact, owns another miraculous box. Gabriel could be somehow acquiring it and maybe create his "Psycho Rangers".

I'm guessing it's the opposite. Tomoe Gozen was their ancestor and used to have a Miraculous that was in their family till the guardians acquired it and she wants Gabriel to turn over whichever it is when he finally gets the Miracle box. The Dragon maybe?

This could also tie into people's idea that Gabriel wants to use the Miraculous to "improve" the world and is actively looking for other like minded rich people to create their own secret group. Which an arranged marriage could still be part of since they'd both be powerful Miraculous warriors for whatever Gabriel wants to do.

This. I can forgive Atruc self insert since he actually exposes himself and makes fun of his position as showrunner.
Most self inserts are mostly just perverts trying to look good and autisticaly fit in the cartoon universe

Attached: images (3).jpg (552x555, 48K)

He also goes into how nobody apprecaites him and he doesn't deserve hate only for Ladybug, the voice of all that's good on the show, to tell him to get over himself and accept that people have constructive critism.

So it's not really that indulgent when you think about it. He's basically showing off the very thing people give him grief over and having the shows heroine tell him he's wrong to do so.

Fixed image

>Chloe shitting on Astruc for Queen Bee not being in the trailer
>Meaning she was in the movie
>Maybe meaning Queen Bee wouldve had a part in the Anime version

I want to believe so bad thats true

Attached: 42434650_2307561982651082_7559981369825458278_n.jpg (566x566, 27K)

Probably not, as the anime version is basically a whole different thing and had it's own additional heroes who didn't have Miraculous's but other superpowers.

But it's a moot point. Anime as it was is never happening.

In the movie Chat Noir is Felix, tho

I wonder how that even worked in universe given that it was based off of two heroes who's identities aren't public.

Did they just make them up?

Capeshit doesnt necessarely means on dwelling on the superhero identity. I dont really see a problem on having a good hack and slash action movie with superheroes without the secret persona drama.

Or maybe she is getting hired to translate the book somehow.

If by "improve" you mean "erase from existence everything he dislikes", then yes.

The man is evil, plain and simple. He tries to justify it with his wife and Adrien, but we already saw in Sandboy that he craves all the Miraculous power solely for himself.

She's blind dude.

She's Japanese not Chinese, and even then it's written in an special language only guardians know.

Kek
It would be funny if they made some blind jokes like Gabriel showing her the book and she "..."

Speaking of which, how did she knew gabriel was in the room? Dude was in a fucking tablet and hadnt said a word

I would say they just played along and went with the Felix.and Bridgette personas, but knowing Felix will appear later on in the show makes things confusing.
I just think we arent supposed to look much into it and take it as a fanservice.

Well Nathalie was in the same room. Gabriel Agreste is in universe a recluse, she would have known his reputation and that there would have been a handler in Nathalie.

>Tomoe
>Emilie
>Nathalie
>Audrey

Who would have guessed Gabriel was a harem protag in his youth

Attached: 09292f9eb802fe32db94a8f10ac5719187066b09_hq.gif (500x248, 1.08M)

Still, I wonder if everytime she meets Nathalie she just starts casually adressing Gabriel out to thin air.

Seing her with the hair up was a good change. Hope they keep improving on alt designs this season instead of wasting effort with new characters.

Astruc himself said no one in the Miraculousverse is totally evil, even Gabriel and Lila. I won't doubt if Hawkmoth remains a villain for the whole show, but he sure won't have a bad end, or at least a bittersweet end.

...

And I'm noticing I'm more worried if the main villain will have a happy end than the heroes.

Translation: Even monsters have reasons to be monsters, but it doesn't make them any less of monsters. Chloe alone is living proof of this.

Seeing that a bad end for Gabriel also means a bad end for Adrien, i dont think thats going to happen.
There will be probably a redemption arc somewhere near the end of the show.

Chloe's an annoying brat, not a monster. She wouldn't be a problem if they didn't live in a world where anyone having a bad day can be turned into a crazed villain.

Chloe balks at the idea of actually physically harming someone.

He finds new love and happiness with Marinette, and lets his father go to jail.

Happy end for him.

>Gabriel gets blown up by the missile launchers in his lair while confronting Ladybug and Chat
>He survives, but the shock blanks all his memory of being Hawk Moth and the Miraculous in general
>Gabriel seems to become a decent dad again and tries to care for Adrien
>Ladybug takes the Butterfly and book back to Fu to ensure nothing reminds him of before and triggers a relapse

>all the world's problems can be solved by a pussy

Im not sure thats how things work, user

She almost killed everyone in the subway, tho

That was because of a poor plan and overestimating her strength with a Miraculous.

She wouldn't have intentionally try to kill everyone in that subway.

>Hawkmoth_breaks_iPad.gif

Lila would have. That girl is a total sociopath. Chloe is just an ignorant asshole.

>plays the nice and lovable animator who is misunderstood booho
>unreasonably requests all macaroons in the room to be peanut-free, and not only make a tray for him because of his allergy

Its funny how Astruc keeps low key exposing himself unintentionally.

They really should have broken the fourth wall a little and talked about CGI, having the director through a fit.

Can we just take a moment to apreciate how hot Kagami looked with her new outfit?

Pantalona pants making me diamonds every single time.

Attached: A8A39C0E-FA65-4DD5-A06B-203F040BA4CA.jpg (1119x762, 116K)

Depends on how bad his allergy is. Just the smell of peanuts can make someone react badly.

Couldn't have been that bad since he ate one and only broke out in hives instead of going into anaphlactic shock.

But yeah there are allegies so severe that even slight contact with traces of peanuts left there hours ago can kill you.

Based on that promo image I guess I was right about oblivio being about mind erased mari and adrien interacting without secret identities.

As in:
>lose memories
>interact untransformed without knowing who the other is
>beat akuma
>conveniently regain old memories in exchange for new ones so they don't remember meeting

Wonder if stupid people will hype themselves like with "frozer"

What image?

I assume we'll get a joke about adrien learning who is is thanks to his advertisements. If they're smart they'll mention gorzilla where everyone thought mari was his girlfriend in the news stories.

>an arranged marriage between Adrien and Kagami.
This theory is popping up a lot lately and I'm actually considering it. Like, do you think they'd actually go there in a show like this? I mean, I don't think it's impossible or anything, but such a thing feels a bit, I dunno, deep for a monster of the week show that seems to want to be anything but deep.

Since they know their audience a little better and don't have to worry about US broadcast tv, this season might be willing to step a little bit out of their usual boundries.

People have noted, in this episode particularly that stuff that used to be just played completely for laughs, like Marinette's obession with Adrien to crazed stalker levels is now being treated a little more seriously.

>Wonder if stupid people will hype themselves like with "frozer"
You know they will, man.

what the fuck is this.

MACARONS ARENT MACAROONS EZRA THEY ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS

Attached: primape angry.png (892x528, 327K)

>deep

Weirdly enough my problem with the arranged marriage theory is it would feel too silly. I know this show's done space garbage and tons of other stuff that feels "too silly" but for some reason an arranged marriage seems even too silly for this show.

If it wasn't for the news stories* a few months ago I'd assume that stuff was illegal in most modern countries.

*The ones about child marriage in the united states that's legal thanks to arranged marriage.

Eh in this case it's not that weird. Their both the same age so there's no real creepiness involved.

If it turns out the Tsurugi's have some Miraculous connection then that would make even more sense for Gabriel to want to merge their families.

>Gorizilla
>expecting continuity

The note will likely be revealed as something very anticlimatic and ultimately meaningless in the long run. This show always blows it when it comes to plot-teases.

>real creepiness

It's not even about that, I just assumed marrying people off without their consent would illegal at this point in most modern societies. Especially in an age where divorce is so common.

But as a storyline arranged marriage feels so "cartoonish" to me. Like, not even sure why, it just does.

>note
You mean the contract?

Whatever it is, it'll be a letdown when they reveal what it's for.

Apparantly Kagami's mother's name is Tomoe, which seems to confirm the theory that she's releated to former Miraculous Holder Tomoe Gozen.

Who is that? Was that from a comic or something?

It's actual supposed historical warrior but is also shown to be one of the past Miraculous Holders in Gabriel's book and confirmed in a tweet somewhere.

Snips from /aco/ by the looks of it.

Gabriel tries to set up an arranged marriage with Kagami, Adrien is against it, Gabriel pushes Adrien becomes frustrated. Somebody else releases akuma waves, Gabriel sends akuma after it. Adrien's negativity over the arrangement is bigger, akuma attaches to Adrien instead.

Gabriel is shocked that Adrien would hate everything that he's ever forced him to do, especially the marriage. Ladybug goes solo, and saves Adrien.

Gabriel is left in a crisis asks Adrien for the first time what he wants to do.

Got more pics? I really don't see the attraction.

Attached: ftftutf.png (613x746, 631K)

that fat frog should stop sucking his own dick and focus more on the plot.

It's not just by reputation, Gabriel and Tomoe clearly already know each other.

If Adrien becomes Chat Blanc then that will give his ID away to everyone.

It's more likely he runs off as Chat and then that attracts the Akuma.

Though yeah, I'm guessing he gets Akumatized because arranged marriage, and he can't openly speak of his crush on LB without risking his own id (because that will rejected as impossible for anyone but CN) so he can't give his father a good reason to refuse and just lets the resentment build up.

Ironically, if Gabriel was looking to control who Adrien marries, he'd probably approve of Marinette. Seeing as she's a fashion designer like Gabriel whose talent he openly recognizes and all.

Yeah he likely wouldn't object too hard to Marinette if he was aware she was a potential option, because she's talented, she'd be an asset to the company and even her family has a successful business that could be worth adding to the Agreste estate even if it's a middle class one.

Although in terms of pure valuabily Kagami probably edges out more, but not enough that he might not be willing to compromise.

Ladybug however, would be met with harsh disapproval. Even ignoring that she's his enemy and the one he views as keeping them from reuniting their family, Ladybug makes it clear she's keeps everyone at a distance and is only focused on being on the clock to protect Paris, and has no intention of branching out from that. The only one that could possibly be with her is CN and even then she insists they keep to themselves unless they're needed to fight an Akuma.

So it would be seen as a foolish celebrity crush that could never come true, even for Adrien Agreste, and therefore a waste of his time.

Anyone got that picture of Alya in shorts

It's also like seeing Marinette's schnanigans and crazy behavior without the screen of being her pal, especially her ass roundabout way of somehow getting Adrien to fall in love with her without telling him or making a move is making Kagami's opinion of her drop, especially after she outright called her out on this and Marinette proceeded to ignore her.

Even her friends, minus Rose, are starting to get tired of her BS at this point.

This whole episode finally inspired me to watch the PV.

I really want an episode or OVA done in its style. The anime influence works REALLY well.

>presenting
nice.

I've wondered about this. Is it's not an actual physical suit? It's magic wrapped around her body, right? Is she's technically naked?

I haven't seen this in a long time. I think I prefer the CGI style at this point.

It's a magical suit. There's material there, and it gives slightly, but it's magically attached to her skin, as shown when Lady Wifi tried to pull off her mask.

oh right. so if it comes off in pieces do those pieces disappear? I feel like as a magical suit it should be removable at all, material or no.

True. Marinette's antics are getting really annoying at this point

Kagami is more and more deserving to win the Adrienbowl.

They should've made a scene where they turned 2D in Animaestro, or maybe having to fight their 2D versions like the puppets in Christmaster

>Gabriel
>coming to his senses this early on in the game
If Stormy Weather 2 showed us anything, it's that Gabriel is very much aware of Adrien's misery and has absolutely no problem justifying it to himself.

This. So long as he doesn't die, Gabriel couldn't care less about Adrien's misery.

The French know what they are doing; is a full on orgasm.

Attached: wallscroll_1_1024x1024.jpg (740x1024, 89K)

He doesn't care if Adrien keeps it to himself, even if he's clearly miserable. It's not clear what he'd do if Adrien outright confronts him about something and says no.

Gabriel will likely force him one way or another. In his mind, Adrien only exists as an extension of his ego and prestige.

Maybe not. The one thing Adrien actively defied him with, going to school, he actually folded on.

He probably accepted it because confining Adrien to the mansion would make things harder for Hawkmoth to conceal his secret identity from the kid (we have seen Adrien sneaking in his father’s office plenty of times).

Must be also the reason for Adrien’s shitload of extracurricular activities, so he doesnt stay home and walk into his dad doing villanish stuff.

And as a result, the only hard rule for his Akuma is that they don't kill Adrien, though they can abuse him as much as they see fit. Seems like he's trying to scare Adrien back into total submission.

>Must be also the reason for Adrien’s shitload of extracurricular activities, so he doesnt stay home and walk into his dad doing villanish stuff.

I mean he was doing all that long before daddy become the local supervillain though.

If this was a darker show I could even assume Gabriel just wants Adrien alive to use his soul to get Emilie back, and thats why he just keeps close tabs on him and locks him up from external sources.

Nah he wouldn't have seriously considered throwing in the towel for his sake if that were the case.

He does geniunely love the kid, he's just an obsessive control freak and thinks he knows best for him and everyone.

He shut Adrien down pretty quickly in both Simon Says and the Bubbler, but he did let him go to school in Origins, so it kind of seems like a toss-up.

If Gorzilla and Captain Hardrock are anything to go by, Adrien seems to have more luck sweet talking his father into getting what he wants than being openly defiant.

This is like, neglective parenting 101.
He concedes one good thing and denies another thousand, shows affection once and then ignores for the rest of the week.

That way Adrien is baited into accepting his conditions, and cant even complain or feel shut down because of that one good thing that holds together the relationship.

Not to mention that what he gives, he can always take away, meaning that he always something to hold over Adrien's head if the kid ever acts out or messes up.
>took my book and lost it, did you?
>guess that means no more going to public school

I think that Gabriel does care but he's just too egotistical and insensitive to immediately understand the feelings of others unless they come out and tell him, which is a bad fit for Adrien because he's a doormat who never tries to assert himself. Hence why anytime Adrien lets it becomes upset with Gabriel he immediately folds, even if it's not really what Gabriel wanted him to do.

>Marinette wearing a maid outfit for this episode

Attached: FRENCHO'S.png (311x301, 26K)

Except there have been several episodes where Adrien has been openly upset with his father and Gabriel just dismissed it/had Natalie or the bodyguard deal with the kid.

I do think Gabriel genuinely cares about his son, but he's very much of the 'I know what's best for you more than you do' mindset.

>I think that Gabriel does care but he's just too egotistical and insensitive to immediately understand the feelings of others unless they come out and tell him

I dont really buy that theory since Hawkmoth superpower is literally empathy, and it is shown that he can use it even in civ form.

He should at least be aware of his son issues at some degree, but maybe just chooses to ignore it claiming its just “teenager angst”

Much like all the holders Hawkmoth is mismatched with the traits of his Kwami and Miraculous. He's an empath that preys on emotions but can't connect with his own son or realize his assistant is crushing hard on him.

I wonder when this will happen.

Adrien shows his disappointment by going into his rin and shutting the door. It's only when Adrien actually doesn't give a shit about Gabriel and actually do something does Gabriel understand that Adrien was serious, and he caves everytime Adrien does this.

Gabriel won't understand how Adrien feels unless he opens his mouth and say something.

It seems that he can able to sense emotions that he's open to. He's not open to Natalie or Adrien so he can't sense how they feel.

Sauce?

I think that he does have it he just thinks that everything will magically be better once his wife is revived. To admit that he's wrong with how he's treating Adrien is to admit that everything he's been doing has been for nothing.

>Gabriel won't understand how Adrien feels unless he opens his mouth and say something.
And even then he won't care unless it's something that threatens his own status-quo.

I think that he does have it he just thinks that everything will magically better once his wife is revived. To admit that he's wrong with how he's treating Adrien is to admit that everything he's been doing has been for nothing.

Letting Adrien go to school if anything upset his status quo more chain anything else. But he let Adrien go because that's what Adrien wanted. He gained nothing from watching the movie with Adrien, he did it because Adrien showed that that was what he wanted. He set up a Christmas party and invited all of Adrien's friends and their parents even though he didn't want to celebrate because that's what Adrien wanted.

Gabriel has never not caved on anything that Adrien actually acts out and shows he really wants.

Because as mentioned in and , it makes Adrien easier to control by offering rewards for his obedience.

Jeremy Zag's instagram

And as pointed out that reasoning doesn't jibe well with the actual show because it worked against him for him to give Adrien that freedom.

Adrien has been more out of control for him than he was before. Gabriel hasn't shown any desire to control Adrien, he just wants what "he thinks" is best for Adrien. But what he thinks is best isn't what Adrien wants or needs but Gabriel doesn't understand that.

I think she has a connection to the Miraculous, but she doesn't know Gabriel is Hawk Moth. She might just know he came into possession of the book and that the art inspires his fashion.

>Eng dub
How could you possibly stand this!

Haven't watched in a while, are they still doing this stupid formula?

Kind of. This season is taking slow baby steps towards changing things slightly like having a stock footage minimal episode where Ladybug spends most of the fight out of costume. There's also been a few cases of fomula with slight changes, like Hawkmoth either leaving his lair for once outside of the season finale, or one where the victim of the week actively stole an akuma meant for someone else and forced Hawkmoth to give them powers.

There will be some episodes this season changing up the formula entirely, specifically featuring other villains besides Hawkmoth, but they're not airing until the back half of the season.

So yeah, it's still mostly formula but they're maknig baby steps towards breaking out of it. I think season 3 the finally got permission from the sponsors to change things up a little but don't want to push their luck.

so next episode on Monday right?

I'm ready to see the rage over whatever memory wipe we see

cristina vee duh

>one where the victim of the week actively stole an akuma meant for someone else and forced Hawkmoth to give them powers.
Not quite true. The akuma just couldn't get into the current target so it went to the next closer shit-feeling person.

My feelings on this show still haven't changed.

youtube.com/watch?v=8oOLhOFrSuo

Yes, it'll be on at the same time and channel as this one.

Uh, no, Lila very clearly stole the butterfly for herself after Marinette rejected it.

Strangely no previews or teasers out yet.

And Lila clearly doesn't change at all in personality when akumatized.

Since she's a sociopath and doesn't have any morality in the first place.

There was a Tumblr post somewhere that demonstrated how Lila fit every typical trait of a sociopath to a perfect tee. I haven't been able to find it since, though.

really hoping Monday is the Kwami swap

Attached: tumblr_odetrsNfqu1tm7gvto1_1280.png (1280x1482, 879K)

You do understant that Lila's personality and pretty much everyone's in this show are just caricatures and generalizations of rrgular teenagers in the perspective of the MC who is an insecure highschooll girl, right?

There is no way someone like that exists IRL.

I second this

There is that one picture of Marinette and Adrien with Tikki.

Yeah, Disney UK doesn't seem to get the full trailers, but they do seem to get single frames, like that Austruc in the OP pic, or that Adrien and Tikki pic. I wonder why, maybe they just stopped trailers, since they were making fans jump to conclusions?

I think they just get the episodes so quick to release they don't have time to cut together a trailer.

The "preview" for this whole block of episodes considered almost entirely of clips from Heroes Day over a new recorded monologue of Hawkmoth, with only like a second of footage from Weredad as the only thing shown of the new episodes.

Like how Family Channel's preview just had clips of Chrismaster, Weredad, Chameleon and Stormy Weather 2 and it turned out those and Backwarder were the only episodes they actually had in time to air.

I know who Pixie Girl is, and Miraculous obviously, but who are the others?

The ones in hats and coats are Miss Rose and her partner, basically spy-themed Miraculous from what we know so far. Long-haired girl is supposedly Rapunzel, as her show is about fairy-tale characters being superheroes. No clue about Lady Dragon and Lady Butterfly, but I think they're supporting cast for either PixieGirl or Rapunzel Girl.

Lady Dragon is a Miraculous character that will appear in the future, though how exactly that's going to work is up in the air.

She's clearly not an existing character, and she's not using the Dragon Miraculous that Fu had either since she's orange instead of Red, and doesn't fit either Longg or Dragonbug's motif.

The best guess is she's one of those other countries Miraculous holders they've suggested will appear post season 3.

They promised a lot of things for Miraculous that never happened, so I take that statement with a lot of doubt.

Lady Butterfly seems to be from the same show as Lady Dragon, which makes me think she could be the good Hawk Moth replacement, but I don't think Hawk Moth is going to lose his Miraculous until the end of the show.

Maybe that means there is a Western Dragon Miraculous as well as an Asian Dragon. There might be another Butterfly too, so Hawk Moth might not have to lose his. However, the Ladybug used in Egypt, China, and France in the past was the same one used by Marinette, so Miraculouses have been all over the world for thousands of years.

Yeah but this promise actually has a character assosiated with it for once.

>Lady Butterfly seems to be from the same show as Lady Dragon, which makes me think she could be the good Hawk Moth replacement, but I don't think Hawk Moth is going to lose his Miraculous until the end of the show.

She does share his motif and colors though. Likewise she seems to have the Moth Brooch on her belt.

Dragon and Butterfly don't even look like they fit with the Miraculous character designs. More likely they're for another show and are just being plugged in the poster for ZAG shows in general.

We still know absolutely nothing about Tales of Feryon (Rapunzel's show), so they may end up going there.

Jeremy Zag tagged this picture of Lady Dragon with #miraculous.

Tags are just a way to make the search engines easier to find what you're shilling. It's just so he can make sure the people who already have "Miraculous" on their tag-watch list can see it.

There's no other option at this point. The french dub has up and disappeared since the eng dub began. I miss it so much. I wouldn't even mind the Korean dub at this point, their voices were cute.

The dragon/butterfly girls aren't even the same style so I don't know why people think they're related. Similar, yeah, but it's clearly going for a more "fairy" aesthetic vs the superhero designs ladybug goes for.

They're closer to Miraculous than any of the other Zag shows with an animal motif and even apparant Miraculous's on them. And the pic of Dragon girl evens shows that her outfit is layered the same way the Miraculous costumes are.

The only difference is that she seems a little bit older than the typical Miraculous cast, which would fit the idea that she's a Miraculous hero from another location.

Alternatively she could be in another show, but still using a Miraculous as her powersource since they do want the universe to be connected even if they're doing a shitty job so far.

All three of them have wings while a miraculous literally requires a upgrade in order to fly. Hell, ones a pixie and the other's a dragon.

They all match a fairy motif.

pretty sure this is for the pixie girl cartoon

I'm really starting to hate this show, but if that wasn't the best akuma in forever I dunno what is

Got that picture??

Someone posted it already:
