This show was way too ahead of its time, don't you think?

This show was way too ahead of its time, don't you think?

(I also think it would had done better on Mtv rather than Nickelodeon, they would had gotten away with more stuff).

the hell is this?

The pilot is the only good thing about it.

Perfect hair forever was ahead of its time because it was a parody of anime parodies. This guy? A comedily sincere anime parody? He was right on his time. Though I will admit that 13 years later we pretty much came full circle.

It's a classic, that is what it is

Now that we have something as Pop Team Epic, or how I like to call it: Dank memes The Animation (Rather than making fun of anime itself)

The idea was awesome
The animation looked so cheap and amateur that no one wanted to watch it

It was good for the time but now it seems way too dated

Wonder if they could do a modern version of it

I honestly never watched this show because it looked like "dude lmao anime tropes" by people that are vaguely familiar with anime. Was I wrong and missed out on kino?

Half and half? It was what you expected it to be, but it was surprisingly well-done and insightful. I wouldn't say it's Kino so much as it's a solid show that people dismissed for the wrong reasons.

It could be done now too I don't necessarily think it was ahead of it's time I mean more could be done with the concept.

If Japan looked like anime, and the USA looked like WB mixed with a sort of early 2000's toon style, then would that mean India is full of poorly-done 3D model people?

India is made of poo. Even if they manage to get it in the loo, you know that it's poo. Not even Brazil is so destined to fate. It is only India.

What you should really be asking is what cartoon france is like.

Oh la la

I want a modern version of this with Cal Arts Mikey

>Pop Team Epic
That one had a bunch of western references from Skyrim to Guardians of The Galaxy and even Undertale

World War who?

No. If anything it was a product purely of it's time.

the theme song too

why is it when we make anime, we copy the same animation process of limited frames and textbook sight gags and call it an homage/reference?

I feel like Boondocks was the only thing that went above and beyond that a little

It wasn't ahead of its time. It was in the exact time it needed to be.

Wasted potential.
I got the feeling it was made by people who only knew about anime, but never watched it themselves.

The designs for the "anime" characters I feel completely missed the point. Like they were designed by someone who heard of anime once.

>This show was way too ahead of its time, don't you think?

Anime was at peak popularity during the early to mid 2000's. Everyone was trying to cash in on the phenomenon. It fit right in with its era.

you talking about how the show doesn't go into the intricacies of anime cliches and stuff and how to mock/parody it?
